A Picket Fence Instead

What kind of border fence was authorized yesterday?

  1. Wait a second, all those GOP candidates are running around saying how they’ll build that fence, how the money is already set aside for it. So the cash must be sitting in some lockbox right? And the authorization for a 2 tier fence was passed and signed into law last year. So how can this be?

I am so confused. The Repubs take heat from the Dems cuz they haven’t built more than a couple miles of the fence, but now the Dems undermine the whole fence itself “to save money”, for which the Repubs will chastize them.

Seems to me We The People get screwed either way. Why not just hire one jogger and give him a pointy stick ... he can draw a line in the sand and tell the Mexis not to cross it. Think of the money that would save, and its nearly as effective as Bush’s Virtual Fence.

  2. Hey don’t forget the Hildabeast’s millions for a Woodstock Museum! Locally a religious man (Ken Ham) built a Creation Museum - raised ever single penny for the venture - which he charges to admit visitors. Still there was an out cry from the usual suspects about the vileness of said private venture. ‘Ignorance is a form of Terrorism’ (the money quote from the local (and quite liberal entertainment rag) on the museum - yet we (American taxpayers) are suppose to fork over a (n increased) portion of our tax dollars to the Woodstock Museum - without so much as a titter. Let’s see only 0.002% of US attended and probably only 5% of the population actually care at all. But hey the libs want this monument to the ‘didn’t inhale’ generation.

I am disappointed in most of them in DC - which will make voting in ‘08 hard - where is a limited government, lower taxes, Constitionally conscious and patriotic politician when you need one? Oh, yeah they are all dead.

  3. I hear it is good - with the hubby working (even weekends, grrr) we haven’t gone yet. Perhaps my daughter and I can go one of these days while she is home on vacay. Even the local reporter (from the real local newspaper) said it was worth it.

I just wish - as our City Council is passing a lousy pork filled excess budget with the winning idea of red light cameras to fund the over expenditures - the government (local and federal) would even begin to embrace the concept of cutting and/or a balanced budget.

I am all for a Woodstock Museum - as long as the ‘didn’t inhale’ generation funds it from private sources. It is bad enough all the garbage (like Planned Parenthood) that we have to fund as taxpayers - I do not feel that we must fund everything for everyone.

I like Michelle Malkin’s call on the fence funding - it is a FINO- Fence in Name Only!

The problem is I am beginning to feel like my neighbors - what/why does it matter - they are all the same, tax and spend in the end - so why bother voting?!?

    Oh well.

  4. Well?  What do you expect when you let Democrats take charge?  All those Republicans who sat on their hands in 2006 instead of voting because they were mad about immigration should really think twice before making that mistake again.
