  1. I’ll keep this short as to Mugabe and company; “I HOPE THEY ALL FUCKING STARVE”

  2. I was just reading something at American thinker and I saw this quote and felt the need to share. It even kind of fits here:"Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

5 bonus points if you can name the famous brit who said it.

  3. Abandon Africa. Let them rot and die their own shit.  Any aid, food, equipment, or people that go to, or are sent to Africa may as well be shot into orbit for all the good it will do there.

  4. Hard to live here and not have heard of that Churchill quote. So I disqualify myself.

  5. Yeah. Churchill.

But more to the point: what is the difference between ‘land redistribution’ in Mugabe’s Zimbabwe, and ‘income redistribution’ here in the USA?

I first thought of this about 25 years ago. Back then ‘land redistribution’ was the rage in Nicaragua. I had an acquaintance who, while owning no land, was considered wealthy here in the USA.

My thought was: why is redistributing land considered the way to national prosperity? My acquaintance didn’t own any (I don’t know, maybe he had investments?), but he didn’t own a farm, he didn’t farm, he rented an apartment here in Dayton, while his estranged wife rented an apartment in NYC. (they were Catholic, couldn’t divorce) But they were wealthy sans land ownership.

So, despite what dictators will tell us, land ownership does not equal wealth. You have to put that land to good use. Which is the problem in Zimbabwe. The new ‘owners’ have no idea of how to run a farm and profitably produce crops.

Ditto for ‘income redistribution’ in the USA. Giving money to people who are ignorant in money management and/or earning money does not win the ‘War on Poverty’. It just prolongs the war, while fostering resentment amongst the taxpayers whose incomes are stolen by the Government to subsidize bad behavior/poor judgement.

Land, and money, need to be put to good use to generate more wealth. Just ‘redistributing’ either will not result in a utopia.

  7. Of course your shit was relevant Rich K.

    Stinky, but still relevant. shit

I just wish you would elaborate on your actual opinions. Hoping that Mugabe and Co starve isn’t a viable option. Mugabe & Co won’t starve. Their people will. Their people are starving. Pre-Mugabe Zimbabwe was the African breadbasket.

    Now? Not so much.
