A NEGATIVE SIDE

 

1. That pretty much sums up a lot in America - most especially the halls of the Federal Government!

   The biz has become about making bucks and those artists who seem to end up going their own way (usually after a long career of being stiffed by ‘the’ recording company) seem to be the only ones making real music.

   We listen to a lot of foreign musicians in this house - as they are still musicians not the ‘current’ act.

2. Oh yeah I forgot the other thing killing the industry - the copy right crappola - extended like forever. A bunch of people who thought nothing of taking most of the monies from minority and women performers for decades - want to force everyone to pay forever for everything ever performed or written down or sung. It’s all - follow the money. And the performers aren’t getting it - Same As It’s Always Been.
