Well said. I too enlisted at age 17—had to get my mothers permission, twice, as I was a sole surviving son. I too did time “on the ground.” I too feel Kerry isn’t fit to lick the sole of any Vet’s boot let alone be in office. And, I too agree that we really need to talk to those of “todays generation.” Sometimes, difficult times do need to be talked about.

Mr Turman,
Thank You,
That is EXACTLY what my WWII & Korea Veteran Father passed on to me.
Thank You for your service to our country.
God Bless You Sir!
My dad and I talk politics a lot.
I mean A LOT. He’s the one that got me into this site. He’s also a Master Sargent in the Army. And his view on Kerry and ‘Nam is this: yes, Kerry went, good for him. He served his country. But it’s not up to people who weren’t alive at the time to debate/discuss/argue about what he did there. That is between Kerry and the men he served with and the other Vets. What everyone else needs to concentrate on is what Kerry did after that...His Senate career. That’s what really matters in this election. But not many people listen to a 17 year old and a girl ta boot.
Kristin,
‘Out of the mouths of babes’ ... may come
wisdom untainted by the chains of age.
Your Dad is right.
Keep rattling cages young lady, the future
is literally, in your hands.

Kristen seems to have a good head on her shoulders..........What Kerry and Bush did back then means diddly-sqaut.........today is what matters.........who will be the best to lead our country............What Kerry did or did not do in the Senate and what Bush did or did not do as our President is what matters.........and I, for one, lean toward our President for all he did during his first term.......
Ya know, Steel has a point. Any vets from that time frame 64-74, have a valid beef with Kerry whether they were in country or not. IMHO he slanders one, he slanders all. But that is our gripe and not one for the kids. But I would also argue any and everything he did after that point (including his trip to Vietnam as a congress critter) are fair game, as they help to establish a pattern that continued throughout his political career.
And Steel, thanks for your service.
