The original term seems to have been bald-faced (bare-faced) and refers to a face without whiskers. Beards were commonly worn by businessmen in the 18th and 19th century as an attempt to mask facial expressions when making business deals. Thus a bald-faced liar was not a very good liar, and was not able to lie without the guilt showing on his face.The more correct term is “bald-faced lie” or “bare-faced lie” (bare is more common in Great Britain). It refers to a “shameless” or “brazen” lie. One where the teller does not attempt to hide his face while telling it.
If the author of this article is RIGHT, and we take this statement as gospel, then we need to IMMEDIATELY remove guns from all police officers, all security guards, and more importanly, from his own security staff. After all, guns are only for KILLIN’. And since no single man can legally execute another, save for a judge and jury and only after a long drawn out trial as demanded by due process, then no one should have a gun. We should oblige him and have those assigned to protect him simply wear baseball hats that say “GUN FREE ZONE”, so that he will be as safe as all the rest of us after his brilliant plan is put into action.
Yes, guns kill, but “Their most basic function” (as he puts it), is NOT to kill, but to “STOP THE THREAT”. Threat from bodily harm or death. THAT IS THE TRUE PURPOSE & FUNCTIUON OF A GUN. And every gun does this more often than they kill. One need not even have to pull out a gun and show it for it to have this basic purpose. Just the mere knowledge of their presence as acknowledged by criminals, foreign invaders, and our own government, should they cross over into the territory of tyranny, is enough to make them all of them STOP and seriously consider the full ramifications of their actions.
So, this ass nugget is incredibly and stupidly ignorant in his WRONGFUL ASSUMPTION.
If law abiding citizens have their guns taken away from them, those still in possession of guns will have a monopoly on efficient and extreme deadly violence. And for many with evil intent, this single-sided power becomes very tempting and they may come to the conclusion that they could quite easily use this new power to relieve us of our valuables and if truly desired, relieve us of our very freedom.
I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said “When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” So, as we all know quite well, it’s not about hunting.
Thomas Jefferson, along with so many other right minded men, created the idea of this country, and put down in writing, the rights granted to us by GOD and by nature. Their ideas have gone on to make one of the youngest countries in the entire world, one of the most powerful, and the best place to live, bar none.
And now, there are those with perceived power over us, who want to take those rights away. They are so arrogant, they think they know better than our Founding Fathers. They somehow think that our Founding Fathers got it all wrong. Who the hell do they think they are? (I can only guess they think themselves God’s gift to us stupid, ignorant plebes and serfs, who would surely die from our own inability to learn how to breathe, but for their own selfless compassion to care for us, in which they want nothing in return. Well, BS!!! Guns bans are about control and nothing more.
These men want to alter our right to defend ourselves. These are ambitious men with evil intent, who want to remove our last resort means against a tyrannical government, so that they may grant themselves supreme power over us. So they will have power to control us, to tell us what they think best for us, and force us to do as they wish...and we will have no way of stopping them as they will know there is nothing we can do. If we ever give up our 2nd amendment, I am without doubt, our governments will rule over us much like every other tinpot dictator with ultimate control and feared by those they rule over. Maybe not immediately, but given my knowledge of the history of men and the inate nature of man himself, it will happen. As sure as the sun rises...it will eventually happen.
Even people who do not believe in owning a gun themselves, benefit greatly from men like me, who do believe in the right to bear arms. All men, regardless if they own a gun, are less prone to criminal activity and tyrannical rule, because armed men stand ready to oppose criminals and tyrants. Yet these same people want all of us disarmed. They are small thinkers who can’t see past their own ignorance. They should be careful what they wish for, as they may one day get their wish. And that happens, I assure you, they will not be happy with the outcome. None of us will.
In other words, they fear me because I’m armed, and are unable to understand that they are in fact safer for that very reason. That’s ok, as long as they can’t deny me being armed, I won’t begrudge them what protection I can provide. I’m nice like that.

Nice to mention it Drew - but the real disgusting tragedy of the Vegas crappola wasn’t the criminal (record in Oakland, CA) ‘aspiring’ rapper being shot - it was the two innocent people (taxi driver and passenger - Michael Boldon and passenger Sandra Sutton-Wasmund) were burned alive when the taxi exploded. The prime suspect was arrested in 2012, in Vegas for kidnapping, pandering, sexual assault and coercion - no ‘disposition’ of the case was available to reporters. How about - the broken down criminal justice system that allows someone arrested for such charges to be out running around - as THE CAUSE of this - not guns. Of course the fact that the ‘aspiring’ rapper may have brought this on himself (how can someone with no obvious employment rent/own a Maserati, which our vaulted ‘news’ reporters can’t even be bothered to investigate). Which is another part of the problem - the media giving a pass and a wink and a nod to career criminals (but only, if they are a certain color).
Truth no longer exists in the media where guns are involved - either in the saving of life or the taking of life - most especially when the perp is BLACK.
And as far as the Charlotte bs story is concerned - WHAT 2 YEAR OLD EVEN KNOWS WHAT A VETERINARIAN IS? If you believe that crap, you’ll believe the entire bs story (btw, I believe that the pregnant Cincinnati woman story will turn out to be ‘domestic’ violence - and what 21 year old has a 5 month old child and is pregnant again? - bet he (shooter) didn’t want another kid). And oh, btw, again - there is ANOTHER Cincy pregnant woman shot since then, she lived, hers was because two guys involved in a robbery weren’t playing nice with others. Maybe, just maybe IF certain people who USED guns in committing crimes went to jail, no bail - for years - these other gun crimes wouldn’t happen as much. Notice how these people can’t get a decent education, can’t get decent jobs, can’t support their own children, but can afford guns, drugs and fancy cars. Now there is another problem - just not sure how to pc phrase it.
The country is going to hell - because of the ‘if it feels good do it’ bunch who have grown up and are now destroying America from the state and Federal houses with stupid laws allowing every evil known to man and attempting to outlaw (God and guns) the only things that will stop the madness.
Is this about Sandy Hook? If so, the bushmaster in question never fired a shot. It was found in the shooters car, jammed, and he didn’t know how to unjam it so he left it. Isn’t that the truth they won’t report? I could be full of shit, but I read that somewhere. And for each crime committed by a gun, how many guns that day didn’t commit crimes?
