  1. Nice Pistol.

Drew is right, If all you want to do is Cut Paper with Wadcutters,
the Fully Accurised Pistol is OK.

If you Need a Pistol that you can Bet your Life on,
that will go Bang without fail, stick to a Government Model.

  2. I have 3-4/5 1911’s I bought surplus from the Navy when they went to 9mm. The only thing I ever have had done with them is to replace the spring with 18lb, and and have 2 converted to portsiders, as I shoot better left-handed, upgrade the sights to red dots, and replace the grips. I have owned them since 1988, and have never had a problem out of any, even though I have probably put 100,000 rounds through them. They were 15+ years old when I bought them (manufactured in 1972) and are still going strong.
These are the guns I would take with me anywhere, and rely on them with my life.

I also have a double action 9mm, a Beretta 92. I have no gripes about it, but the lack of stopping power, and it needs a LOT of attention to keep it shooting. I would take this into an urban environment as a deterrent, but, as a main weapon… not enough stopping power, and flimsy.. good for targeting on the weekend, and compact enough to carry normally, but other than that, I would rather have the .45s.

Stopping power > putting a lot of lead into the target. 1 shot, 1 kill.

    Just a though.

  3. I must remember to keep the hubby away from BMEWS for a few days - he has a standard 1911, the Kimber Ultra Carry and will try to figure out a way to get this one.

We can’t afford it right now. Thanks a bunch.
