Q: What do you call 100,000 Frenchmen with their hands up?
A: Le Army.
Instead of “France,” think “Vichy,” and you are much closer to the entity we face nowadays.
Right after 9/11 there was a spoof of “Soldier of Fortune”. making its way around the net. it was “Soldier of Surrender” and the “cover’ had things like “Want to wave the white flag without spilling your globlet of wine on your freshly pressed dress uniform? Learn how INSIDE!”
I agree totally with Tannenberg about “Vichy”
Pathetically scary.
France’s idea of liberty was once a goddess. Our Statue of Liberty dates from those days. Now the idea seems to more closely resemble a Montmartre gamin.
