  2. Hey Skipper I wanted to float something by you and get your input.

Last night I was watching some of the clips snipped out of the ABC movie, at the moment the clip I was watching was of the camp in Afganistan showing the dirtbag boot camp, making bombs, practicing weapon training etc, and a thought popped into my head.

I see these guys using Western tech like cars, projectors, guns, bombs, etc but what contributions to the world have these bozos made in the last 500 years aside from suicide belts? Hell is there even a Muslem car company? Even the Czechs can claim they made a Yugo but the Muszzies have made zip, nada.

Somehow it strikes me as being important for some reason.

  3. gdonovan, i like to think of them as wasps, they dont contribute fuck all and are a paine in the ass in the summer, and will keep stinging, if you let them,

  4. Thanks for the link, Skipper.

Remember, all the only thing the victims of 9/11 did was go to work on a Tuesday morning.

  5. Gdonovan, you are 100% correct. They have contributed absolutely nothing to the world in the last 1000 years. Their society is locked in the days of the caliphate and the height of Muslim expansion to Cordoba in Spain, which was the largest and most beautiful city in the world from 935 to 1013 AD. It has been downhill for them since then. They have devolved into tribal warfare and internecine conflicts over sand dunes and camel dung.

You’d think the oil riches of the 20th century would have picked them up by the bootstraps and given them some sense of pride in themselves, wouldn’t you? It was not to be. Instead of adopting the ways of the modern world and maturing into a reasonable addition to world society, they have chosen to isolate themselves from the world, divide their new wealth between a small ruling class and a military machine, leaving the majority of the people to rot in filth and misery.

Build an automobile? Launch a thousand ships and create a vast trading empire? Come up with new ideas and inventions? Build and fly a rocket ship into space? Not a chance. They have the money to do all that, no doubt about it. Do they have the intellect and ambition? Maybe. Unfortunately, their intellect and ambition is channeled in the wrong direction - against the West for no other reason than the fact that we have overachieved and left them behind in the dust centuries ago. They do not want parity. They want vengeance - and dominance.

So look for nothing concrete to come out of that hellhole any time soon. The best minds of the Arab and Persian world have been driven to emigrate to the West, mostly to America in order to escape the isolationism, autocratic rule and religious oppression of the ones in power over there - and even they are being corrupted by influences from back home.

As it stands now, there is only a greedy, power-hungry, arrogant upper class and a filthy, starving, oppressed, frustrated, increasingly militant lower class. There is no middle class to speak of and that group is what made the West a success. The fact that it is missing in the Middle East speaks volumes about their potential. Or complete lack of it.

No, look for nothing of substance to come out of that cesspit for at least another century or two. Sooner or later, there will be revolution or a reformation in the region. The West made that giant leap into the modern world with the Renaissance (the 14th century) and the Reformation (the 16th century). The Middle East never took those two steps and until they do, they will remain mired in an 11th century medieval culture.

Which begs the question: how does a 21st century world deal with an 11th century world? A thousand years of enlightenment and social growth separate the two. That’s not a gap. That is an abyss of gigantic proportions. Is it any wonder they don’t understand us and we don’t understand them? We have more in common with dolphins and whales than with these barbarians. And that’s a fact.

Dang! There I go gettin’ long-winded again. I’ll sit down now. Carry on.

  7. Just a slight correction the Yugo was made in Yugoslavia along with the Lada. It was the Skoda that was and is made in the Czech Republic. However on the rest of it you are right the muslims are stuck in a 7th Century mindset and frankly in my view they are barbarians.

The thing that is really pissing me off at the moment is the amount of anti-American feeling going around over here. I don’t mind a bit of banter and joshing, but there are far too many people here who think America deserved 9/11. Even after they blow up trains and buses here and “allegedly” try to blow up aircraft there are far too many schmucks in Britain who harbour these idiotic ideas. I feel quite depressed about the drift of Britain into Europe. We are cutting ourselves off from the only true superpower and the only real democracy in the world. It will have disastrous consequences.
