The patient died after the surgery but that was due to heart failure and not the fire, said Dr. Robert Caplan, medical quality director of Virginia Mason.
So I don’t suppose the fact that his body was sensing “OH MY GOD! I’M GOING UP IN FLAMES! SOMEBODY HELP ME! I CAN’T EVEN STOP DROP AND ROLL BECAUSE I’M FRIKKIN’ SEDATED!” in no way contributed to the “heart attack”. Medical Morons.
They missed the part about the operation being a success.
Yeah, the operation was a success, but the patient died. I have been in that hospital a few times. Bellevue in NYC is better. Been there too for a cruise thru the ER after falling 5 flights. Not stairs ... DOWN.
Remind me to tell ya that story sometime.
You’d think that the thing that would be paramount fallin’ that far was ‘WTF is going to happen when I hit?’
Nope. After my face got mostly tore off from looking down by the scaffold I was on on the way down ... the 2 things that were of most concern were the ...
a) jackhammer I had had in my hands and
b) the cigarette I had had in my mouth.
In THAT order. But by the time I hit bottom ... none of that was of much concern.
Those other 2 things? I ain’t sure where they lit ... but it wasn’t on me.
I will get around to that one ... one of these days ... it’s good one, but takes a bit of time to tell. I oughta do it in installments ... one $@@#^%$ flight at a time.
Steel, you have had an interesting life. I think I have said that before. By the way I got here ny way of New Zealand.
Man ... you went the wrong way amigo. When ya goin’ back?
