  3. We are screwed - Roberts upheld that the mandate is a tax and We The People can simply not buy insurance and NOT pay the tax. And he voted that ‘lying’ (the Stolen Valor Act) is protected by the First Amendment.

    GWB screwed us and Obama just upped the ante.

    God Help America - as no one in DC cares to ‘uphold and defend the Constitution’ anymore.

Roberts sided with the lib side calling it a TAX measure,Just like SS and Medicare.He did NOT agree with them that it held up under the commerce clause.This makes repeal and modification MUCH easier in congress because of the votes required.So, yes its a turd sandwich but it is one we can have a chance to water down with much less power in the congress. So, Vote your asses off in November for anything that even smells like a republican.That is all.
    Oh, one more thing; FUCK YOU ERIC HOLDER,I hope they can your ass to save face in the white house.If not, then FUCK YOU anyway.Piece of shit.

    The single biggest problem with this ruling is that Robert’s bought the “It’s a tax” argument. Had he not, they would have voted 5-4 the other way and declared it unconstitutional. So our buddy Robert Fucked us straight out, with no lube.

  9. Just heard that Republicans in the House are readying a REPEAL bill. Yes, it won’t go anywhere in the Senate - but they need to do it EVERY WEEK until the election. As the Dems numbers go down, more and more DemocRATS will jump the sinking ship. Never forget the SC ruled on Prohibition (18th, 1919) and then undid it (21st, 1933) - it can be DONE, Don’t Believe the crapweasels in DC, that once a law, always a law. Another way to destroy this pos legislation - NULLIFICATION. OH voted to exempt itself from O’care. Every single R Gov should encourage a Nullification bill TODAY.

    BTW, Rommey raised $100,000 - in an hour after this debacle.

  14. It was always a tax, even as the Dem lied, Obama lied, the whole chorus lied. It now does not square with Article 1, Section 7 “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives;” As a tax, it is very unstable. Romney can now point to Obama as themot profligate tax raiser in history.

  17. Yeah, they voted.  They’ve upheld what I never thought they’d uphold. It’s a jaw dropper.  I’m working to understand the entire chain of fact and logic being used.  The basic idea behind the decision is simple enough, it just violates the Constitution as I’ve understood it.

    In the meantime, it’s more important than ever to work on getting people to vote for Romney.  Somehow I think things just got a little more dangerous.

    Obama is more of a threat to America than both the Germans and Japanese were in 1941.

    He’s here and he’s on a mission. He has no shortage of disiples (naive assholes) and appears to have every Republican tactic covered.

    He said he wasn’t going to raise taxes on the “middle-Class” and he hasn’t. The SCOTUS did so he’s off the hook.

  20. Interesting twist here - by his vote - Roberts has allowed the Senate now only needs 51 votes (it’s a TAX) to do away with the mandate, not the 60 votes previously required to overturn it.

    Not an outrageous possibility - considering our Dem Senator is about to be handed his head on a platter. Amongst others.

    Nullification - if only 32 states opt-out of this mess - OH already has and I know a few have already ‘received’ waivers - that is the 2/3rds required by the Constitution (remember that DC?!?) to nullify it.

    These people are so damned insulated from real life - oops they did it again - They woke the sleeping giant - and if they think that the 2009 Tea Party was something to fear - look out now. Romeny made from 1 to 4.2 million in a single day on this debacle.

    We donated and we are truly down to food and the gas to get it.

    May they all rot in hell.

  24. As we come to term’s with the Supreme Court’s Marxist decision, we must ask ourselves: how was such a thing passed? With over 2000 pages of new laws, stipulations and intrusions into our God-given civil liberties the bill essentially gives the United States government a mandate to take over our economy. How could the most successful country in the world knowingly give away everything that our soldiers fought so hard to preserve? It spits not only in their faces but also in the faces our Founding Fathers. I think this video nicely sums up the intrusive nature of this bill:

    Ronald Reagand said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

    Where is the ACLU in all of this? If they really cared about our civil liberties they would have organized mass marches against it and not slept until it was repealed. This bill takes away more of our civil liberties than anything ever passed before in the United States, yet they do or say nothing. I guess the only thing they really care about is their own political agenda, and if something doesn’t fit into it, then it doesn’t matter to them. Well, it matters to me.

    As a physician it is my hope that everyone receives proper medical care. Every week I either donate my time to the free medical clinic or provide care to the uninsured, underinsured or illegals for free in this country. However, I don’t believe the government has a right not only to mandate healthcare for everyone but also oversee such a massive economic goliath. Plus, where are the funds for such plan. Every day I learn the cost of it is rising. No matter what news station you listen to they all agree that the plan is over budget and that there is no way to pay for it. The plan both underestimated the amount of people who would be covered and also the funds needed to support it. I don’t know about you but this is a recipe for disaster. And the worst part about it is that Obama wants to proceed, despite the economic devastation it will create for America’s economy.

    Capitalism has made America great. It won us the Cold War and continues to make our country great. Why? Capitalism allows the people to take charge of their destiny and gives them the opportunity to make a better living for not only themselves but their children. It allows for initiative and creates an environment so that anyone has the potential to succeed. That is why Capitalism has proven to be the greatest economic system the world has ever seen. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but has there ever been any socialist, communist or fascists utopias? Just look at North Korea, where the government runs everything. How are they doing? Their people are starving and they are living in complete poverty. Now look at South Korea.

    Have we not learned anything from history? Romney has to be elected so that Obamacare can be repealed- for our sake and the sake of our children.

  25. I’ve watched at the ACLU’s activities over the last 50 years and it’s been a long time since they actually did anything to really promote anyone’s civil liberties.

    For decades the only thing the ACLU’s policies have promoted are dissension, division and limitations.  The legal reasoning may sometimes sound interesting, but in the context of reality, the ACLU is very anti liberty.

  26. Doc Jeff .... re ACLU.  Right on. As far as I have always thought, they live only to make the worst appear the better cause. I know I have said that any number of time but is true none the less.  There have been one or times over the many years that I thought they defended the right side but damned if I can remember the issues.

    For all of you and Romney.  Have to agree because after all, who the hell else have we got?

    And also in case ur interested.
    Romney in London or coming soon, for a multi,multi thousand dollar fund raising among Americans working here. Only the posh to attend as who else has the cash this do is gonna cost.  Obama raised $400,000 here. It is expected Romney will vastly outdo that sum by a million easily. That’s the report anyway.
