the page view counter with the Flags of All Nations way down at the bottom of the page is just about to roll over onto 3 million. Which is the number of people who have stopped by since March 2009 when I put it in.
No, we don’t see 5 million hits an hour. Or even 1 million hits a year. And readership is down, due I’m sure to a) Social Media, and b) my posting less about politics. But 3 million visits in under 4 years is pretty good in my opinion.
Now if I could just get past the Bloggy Blues.
Peiper writes: “Things always seem bleakest when you’re sick. So don’t quit.” And he’s right ... but ...
No, not planning on packing it in. Just wish there was a special Fun Stuff & Good News Channel I could tap into so that every damn post wasn’t a) effin Democrats turning the US into a Turd World Marxist Tyranny, b) fuckin Muslims running amok, c) Dear old Blighty committing fiscal and cultural suicide as fast and as hard as they possibly can.
Even the stories on Science Daily are months out of date half the time.
I am feeling a good bit better. But I think I’ll spend most of today in bed trying to stay warm. And get past this chunky cough. Yum. Awfully cold and windy out ... really wishing it was May 17th already.
We can assume that’s the day you leave for the Bahama’s Right!
You talking about the “cities online” thing, or what? Why doesn’t it ever show mine? Am I unknowingly logged in through a proxy server? I know that’s possible, just never heard of it being an accident.
No, I’m talking about the flag counter at the bottom of the page, as I wrote. It’s similar, but different. That’s why I specifically wrote “way down at the bottom of the page” instead of “over here on the right sidebar”.
And your hometown doesn’t always show up on the upper counter because your ISP might be located somewhere else. Like, you live in Smallsville but your ISP actually joins the internet in Millville. And it can vary day by day too - sometimes mine shows up as one town, sometimes as another. It’s the whole “dynamic IP” thing I guess.
I wish Rich - that counter should turn by Monday at the latest!!
Ahh, OK, I misapprehended, thank you. Over on the right I don’t think I’ve ever even seen my state, and I’m walking distance from “the big city”, but it is what it is.
