path to a green card?

People who are regulars to bmews and my ranting over the years about the American version of the KGB, working as Immigration Dept., officials welcoming (ha) visitors to LAX, and generally being uncommunicative and unhelpful as well as unfriendly, will I think understand our distress while reading the morning papers.

On Immigration.

What else?

Seems four Republican senators led by Mr. McCain, joined four Demos to lay out a plan for immigration reform.  Hey, are we all for that?  Reform. What a nice word.

This new reform will I read, include an offer to a “path to green card status” for eleven million ILLEGAL aliens in the USA.

Isn’t that nice?  A pass to the green card.  Which oh by the way, my wife holds and has for more than 40 years but which MUST now be given up as, she was told, since she was no longer a permanent resident, for all the reasons bmews readers know about, the fact that she still had hers meant that someone who should have a card didn’t have one is because my wife still had hers. Huh?  Do we have quotas?
I guess whoever inherits her card might be one of those “illegals” or else a relative of The One in need of a card that once belonged to a long time tax paying resident.

Maybe my wife should sneak into the USA as an illegal, and then wait about ten years for another amnesty and get on another path to a green card.

  2. With 23 million Americans out of work - this is not just sad, it’s disgusting.

    But notice how quickly (once the ‘polls’ weighed in) the talk (i.e. the state media and crapweasels in DC turned from gun bans and Benghazi (not to mention the lie of the big o’s ‘katrina’ non-recovery Sandy (bloated kickback filled ‘disaster’ bill) recovery)?

    This is government of the cult of personality - the message goes sour and, as if by magic - the ‘crisis’ of the day becomes something else.

    How about a Federal Budget?
    How about cutting Federal Regulations?
    How about addressing the sequestration requirements?
    How about a real debt ceiling discussion?
    How about a ‘bi-partisan’ solution to the 23 million unemployed Americans - you know - what both sides promised ‘laser-like focus’ - JOBS

    God Help America - because now both sides are actively working to destroy America. And not representing a single American citizen at all.

  3. Each time our elected representatives put forth and pass an amnesty (this will be the 3rd), we reinforce the idea that a person can come here illegally (a criminal), hide outside the laws of work and finance (not paying taxes), and eventually gain citizenship.

    As with the debate on gun control - this is obfuscation of the core issue. Why do people break the law to come to the United States? Because, they will eventually become citizens.

    Why do our elected representatives continue to ignore our wishes on these subjects? Because they are the ones in control - not us.

  4. Is this a great country or what?
    Just Don’t try it in Mexico,they get real Pissy about illegals.

    Mexican law ensures that:
    immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
    foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
    foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;
    foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
    foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
    those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

  5. Rich K - You also forgot that NOT only does Mexico REQUIRE a photo ID to vote but it is with a thumb print - that has to be updated every 5 years.

    Yes, the very country working to undermine America - let’s not forget la raza and atzlan ("The textbook teaches high-school students that Mexico is supposed to regain the states of Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington and that they rightly belong to the “mythical” homeland of Aztlán.” from and destroy it - by helping the crapweasels in DC overwhelm the economy and the work ethic - are about to become citizens above people who truly want to come to America, to work and to become American citizens - LEGALLY.

    America is no longer a ‘representative’ republic - tragically in just 4 short years, we’ve become a socialist cesspool - and no one in DC seems to care to stop it.

  6. Wardmom, I honestly hate to face the fact but, the rot was well and truly entrenched far longer than the last four years.  For all the reasons (or reason) I have banged on about even during the Bush years. And yes. It is tragic. And there’s worse to come as I see things.
    Short of another very violent revolution which even then might only make things worse yet, I see nothing at all to encourage me about the future. I did not always feel that way, but time and evidence convince me that except for technology and medical advances, the future for once independent countries in the west is dismal.
