Making Political Hay

Here we go again. All the useful idiots have their talking points and their marching orders ...

NY Gov Cuomo Trying For Increased Gun Control Bill

Never mind that New York already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Never mind that “assault weapons” are already illegal there (as they are in Newtown CT). Never mind that using the dead children as political pawns is about as low as low can be ...

“How Many More Children Must Die?”

Cuomo Close To Announcing Sweeping New Gun Control Laws

A deal to give New York one of the toughest gun control laws in the nation is being negotiated by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who, sources said Tuesday, is hoping to announce the plan Wednesday during his State of the State speech in Albany.

Cuomo hopes to jump-start the 2013 legislative session with a big deal that could dramatically alter gun control laws across the state.

Highly placed sources told CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer that Cuomo is negotiating with Assembly and Senate leaders for a package of gun control laws that would be a dramatic response to the gun violence besetting the nation, including the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

“It’s a very divisive topic,” Cuomo said on Wednesday. “There’s a lot of energy on both sides. Some people are vehemently against’ some people think we’re out of our minds for not passing it.”

Sources told Kramer the governor and lawmakers are negotiating furiously in the hope that Cuomo can announce a deal during his speech Wednesday.

Sources said the package is expected to include:

* New restrictions on assault weapons

* Stiffer penalties for using a gun to commit a crime

* New limits on the number of bullets in a gun magazine

“Gun control is highly political, politically contentious situation. It is polarizing,” Cuomo said.

And polarizing is exactly what these neo-Marxists want. Break society into shards. Divide, and then conquer. Big steps, small steps, scare tactics, letting no crisis go to waste ... it’s all to get things moving Forward.

Cuomo’s move comes as Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Gun Violence released a new commercial to push for federal action. It features Roxanna Green, the mother of Christina Taylor-Green, who was killed two years ago Tuesday in the Tucson, Ariz., massacre.

“How many more children must die before Washington does something to end our gun violence problem?” Roxanna Green says during the ad.

It would be quite a coup for Cuomo, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, to show progress on gun control while Washington dithers.

Geez, I don’t know lady. Why not ask Chicago, where guns are already nearly completely illegal yet children get shot nearly every single day?

In case the media forgets to tell you, New York made it’s own assault weapons law, a permanent one, back before the federal 1994 AWB law expired. It’s pretty much a word for word clone of the AWB. And that law already includes a 10 round magazine provision. Read it right here.

  3. Jolting Joe Biden already promises that our gracious and mighty lord, the Resident in Chief is promising to use executive orders to control guns. I quote:

Joe Biden guarantees Obama will bypass reluctant Republicans and cement new gun control laws

It’s an interesting article to say the least.

  4. Hey Gang, look what they found in the Obamacare law:

It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.
According to reports, that amendment says the government cannot collect “any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.”
CNN is calling it “a gift to the nation’s powerful gun lobby.”
And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that’s exactly right. He says he added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.

Looks like Harry Shot Nancy and Barry Point Blank,BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  7. Saw this on another site - I like what it says and so I’ll share:

Please, for the love of God, DO NOT try and rationalize what is going on with proposed bans, EOs, etc. You are simply wasting your precious time. Accept the fact that they will cram this down the Republic’s throat at nearly any cost. Consider it a done deal and don’t delude yourself with how it won’t happen because “fill in the blank”.

Obamacare was crammed down our throats. You are now required by penalty of law to purchase a privately offered product. You thought it would be overturned. “Surely, any rational judge would toss this, and it would never hold up in the SC”, you thought.

Don’t be so naive – these people bank on that. Do not entertain rational outcomes – that’s their way of compounding interest.

You need to ask yourself what you’re prepared to do in order to turn the country you knew, over to your kids. You need to look deep into your heart, and see that pontificating the end result will bring about the one you thought wasn’t possible.

Stop entertaining the thought of a rational outcome – that has long since passed. Start thinking about the things you don’t want to do – those are the things that need to be done first. - NumberTwo on January 9, 2013 at 4:09 PM

  8. Locked and loaded, man.  However many come, fewer shall leave.  Are there enough of us that we’ll run out of them before they run out of us?  May we never have to find out.

  9. In case you all are wondering how the meeting today( Thursday the 10th) at the WH went here’s a recap from the NRA:
We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not.

  10. Like we knew anything else would ever come out of this type of meeting - especially with a (p)Resident who actually had the gall to say ‘I Won’ in his first meeting with Republicans in 2009?

It was just a cover for his stupid talking point low information voters - to see how inclusive and willing to ‘seek a compromise’ that this Administration is - since his State Media won’t even post the negatives of this Administration at all, ever.

I just wish we were employed right now - so that I could renew my NRA membership and do our part on showing our support for the Right to bear arms and ammo.
