Stupid In The News
Ack, just reading the headline makes me gag. What were these bullet primer caps for, his rifle gun revolver automatic thingy?
A 37-year-old airline passenger was arrested Tuesday in Miami after primer caps for bullets ignited while a baggage handler was unloading a roll-on bag, the FBI said. The tarmac incident is not believed to be terrorism-related, FBI special agent Michael Leverock said.
Leverock would not provide details or speculate on how the bag might have gotten on the plane. He compared the primer to a “spark plug” for the bullet. The unidentified passenger, a naturalized U.S. citizen who was bound for Jamaica, was charged with transportation of hazardous materials. If convicted, he could face a sentence of up to five years.
...
Hundreds of the primer caps were in a bag that ignited, and all of them went off after the first one did, Leverock said. Several hit the baggage handler’s shoes, but he was not injured. The bomb squad was among those who rushed to the scene. The incident caused four other flights to be delayed, the airport said.Leverock said part of a shirt inside the bag was charred, but the movement of the bag is what set off the explosion.

Oh look, primers. They come 100 to a package, with 10 packages to a sleeve. A sleeve of 1000 primers is much smaller than a loaf of bread; a package of 100 is about 1/4” high by 3” square. The packaging is designed to keep them from bouncing about. It’s also designed to minimize flash-over, should one primer ignite.
Yes, these things are tiny bits of explosives in little steel cups. It takes quite a bit of specifically directed force to set them off. Drop a handful on bare concrete and they do not go off. Ever.
I can’t say what the rules are for importing HAZMAT rated items to Jamaica via the airlines. It probably is legal, but you’d have to pay a fee, ship the things in a proper container, and put them in the baggage hold. But I can say that taking these things out of their boxes and just pouring them in a baggie buried in your carry on is a really stupid idea. They will show up on a baggage X-ray either way, so why bother? And if these were wrapped up inside a shirt in this guy’s bag, and they went off due to “baggage handling” it tells me that the gorillas handling the luggage must have clobbered that suitcase with a sledgehammer. Furthermore, there is simply no way in Hades that the igniting primers had the power to penetrate a layer or two of clothing and then the side of the carry on bag, even if that bag was a paper sack from the grocery store. No. Can’t happen. The baggage apes opened the guy’s bag and then clobbered the contents with a big hammer. Deliberately. Or else they dropped the entire luggage box 20 feet from the side of the plane down to the ground, with several tons of other luggage coming down on top of this schmuck’s bag. That’s possible, but if the primers were in a “roll on” bag - doesn’t that mean “carry on”? - then the baggage mishandlers wouldn’t be in contact with that bag in the first place. Something is fishy here, more fishy than just poor reporting.
Find out the name of the airline, and make sure you never fly with them. Whatever else, this story screams out the fact that they seriously mistreat your stuff.
Come to think of it, fire the TSA screeners involved. Baggage gets x-rayed, right? Several hundred primers poured into a baggie would show up as a great metal lump, which should have gotten their attention. A whole sleeve of primers in their original packaging would look like a 3D matrix of metal dots, which should have also been noticed. Somebody was not doing their job here.
Ok, I just followed the link and watched the video. While this was a carry on size bag, it was checked in the luggage hold. It was a two part flight from Boston to Jamaica with a changeover in Florida. The primers went off when the bag was “placed” on the tarmac. So ... a little research shows that the cargo hold of a jetliner is pressurized, but not generally heated. IIRC, aircraft pressure is set to what you’d get being 10,000 feet up on a mountain. The temperature might get down to -40. That ought to be well within the design parameters of the primers. And it’s been pretty chilly in Florida the past few days. Plus it’s not like the plane drops instantly to the ground from 32,000 feet; it takes a good 15 minutes to descend, and then another while to land, and then even longer to cruise around the airport before the plane is finally parked and unloaded. So I think we can rule out any idea that these things were made extra sensitive due to sudden changes in air pressure and temperature. ( I tried to ask CCI and Federal, but both companies are taking their winter holidays ) And that puts us right back to seriously abusive baggage handlers.

bad day at black rock? no, just the usual witch hanging in haiti. send more money? yeah, sure.

Haiti lynch mobs murder 45 accused of spreading cholera with sorceryBy Daily Mail Reporter
23rd December 2010
Lynch mobs have murdered 45 people in Haiti after accusing them of spreading cholera by using sorcery.
Most of the victims have been hacked to death with machetes or stoned in the streets before their killers set fire to their corpses.
The savage scenes have occurred across the earthquake-ravaged island over the last week.
Prosecutor Kesner Numa said that the dead were accused of spreading the disease in regions which had been unaffected by the outbreak to date.
‘We have had cases every day since last week,’ he said ‘People really believe that witches are taking advantage of the cholera epidemic to kill.’
Forty of the murders have been in the Grand Anse region, in the far south-west of Haiti.
While 2,500 people had died across the island since cholera broke out in mid-October, the area had been the least affected to date.
Despite millions of pounds of aid pouring in from around the world, very little has been done to either clear the devastation or begun reconstruction.
Meanwhile, idiot Frenchmen are seeing to it that their culture will be further diluted and forgetting something called genes.
Hundreds of Haitian children given chance of fresh start with adopted French families
By Oliver Pickup
These are the heart-warming pictures that show Haitian children being granted a new chance to make the most of their lives.
For these 318 youngsters are the lucky ones who will not be spending Christmas in their crisis-hit home country, but getting to know their new adopted families… in France.
The first two flights left Port-au-Prince, the Haiti capital, for Paris yesterday, after French Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie sanctioned the adoptions on Saturday.
Really stomach turning, disgusting photos of white women kissing tar babies. Yuk. What are they thinking? In time these things will turn on them. They will eventually regret this stupid bleeding heart do good addition to France, increasing the trials and troubles they already have. Stupid people. Like there aren’t any white babies in dire need anywhere in France?

She has been punched in the face and had a gun to her head … white farmer in Zimbabwe.
Read this a few days ago. There’s another problem facing these people. The Mugabe govt. is now selling farms to other whites, which are already owned by families still in residence. Aside from any feeling of group loyalty, I don’t understand how the second group of farmers would so willingly trust that fugitive from a tall tree. He’s wrecked the economy of his country, there are still people starving there, which I care nothing about, and his police continue to ruin what farms are left. Oh well, it must be a black thing whites aren’t expected to understand. Lets see, farms ... food .... burn farms or turn over to landless inexperienced folks who never farmed before ..... hmmm. Hunger. Now how’d that happen boss?
Not to worry ..... we be the white guy’s burden and him bail us outta this here mess. Again. Look you at Haiti man. Make white liberal feel guilty, he send more money. Work evy time. You see.
White couple who fought the mob for their precious land and triumphed ... for a whileBy Sunday Times Zimbabwean
Hope flashed into the weary lives of Heidi and Dirk Visagie only to be cruelly crushed days later. Just an hour’s drive from Harare, the Afrikaners were in the office of the district lands officer in small town Chegutu - it was their last, desperate attempt to save their small farm.
Glowering opposite them was Timothy Mudavanhu, a minor functionary of President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF party, who has been plaguing their lives for nine years.
Most of Zimbabwe’s dispossessed 4000 white farmers have endured these supposed arbitrations to defend their livelihoods. Racist abuse is hurled at them by officials and often they are threatened and spat at. Eventually they leave in humiliation - and defeat.
Frank (not his real name), a lands official at Chegutu, flipped through the Visagies’ sheaf of four high court orders affirming their right to Wantage farm. Once issued by a judge, the injunctions are routinely ignored.
Frank looked up. “The matter is clear, “ he said. “The law must take its course.” The Visagies and Mudavanhu were stunned. In 10 years of free-for-all land grabbing there is no record of a lands officer having acted in favour of a white farmer.
Despite Mudavanhu’s shouting, Frank was resolute. He said the meeting was over. Mudavanhu asked if he was being kicked out like a dog. Frank replied: “No. A dog has four legs.”
The Visagies giggled and went home on a high, but victory lasted only 11 days. Mudavanhu returned to Wantage with his rent-a-mob. After going to Harare to see a lawyer the Visagies returned to find the padlock on their gate broken.
Mudavanhu’s lock was in its place and drunks were on the lawn around a bonfire. All the Visagies had was their car, cellphones and the clothes they stood up in.
A call to Frank established that the lands officer had been wrapped over the knuckles. “I have been transferred,” he told them. “Please do not tell anyone you have spoken to me.”
Eventually, with pressure from the South African Embassy - Dirk Visagie is a South African citizen - Mudavanhu was eased out by the deputy sheriff, still bawling that he would be back for “my farm”.
Heidi says she felt nauseous during the bubble, which lasted 11 days. “It was like the Mad Hatter’s tea party. Now I know where we stand.”
She is 38 and a third-generation Zimbabwean. She and her husband, 42, bought Wantage in 2001.
The government gave them a certificate stating the farm was not needed for resettlement. But three months later, Mudavanhu burnt down their citrus orchard.
She has been punched in the face and had a gun to her head. Crops were flattened, the Visagie house emptied. The mob held the gardener’s head underwater in the swimming pool to get the house keys. Her soft-spoken, gentle appearance is deceptive. Mudavanhu once told Visagie that Cecil Rhodes was her uncle. She exploded: “I am an Afrikaner! We went to war against the British, they put my people in concentration camps. Don’t you call me British!”
When the Visagies are left alone they run a thriving operation on their 86-hectare holding which produces 240 tons of tomatoes a year for a nearby cannery. There are also rows of tuberoses, a fragrant lily.
Dirk is a meticulous farmer, his wife says. But every time Mudavanhu ploughs through their crops, it takes something out of you, she says.
Usually her husband puts on a brave face with each onslaught, but last time he gave up. The couple even lost their sense of humour, until a swarm of bees set on Mudavanhu as he was ranting at them.
Dirk has a heart problem, and the stress gives his wife eczema. Each time Mudavanhu takes occupation she moves their belongings to relatives. When he has been fought off, she returns. The unpacking restores her sanity. She was putting away tea cups when I arrived. But she knows Mudavanhu will be back.

Does This One Count As “Saved” Or “Created”??
Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, a Somali-born U.S. citizen, was arrested at 5:42 p.m., 18 minutes before the tree lighting was to occur, on an accusation of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Friday just after he dialed a cell phone that he thought would set off the blast but instead brought federal agents and police swooping down on him. Yelling “Allahu Akbar!” — Arabic for “God is great!” — Mohamud tried to kick agents and police after he was taken into custody, according to prosecutors.
“The threat was very real,” said Arthur Balizan, special agent in charge of the FBI in Oregon. “Our investigation shows that Mohamud was absolutely committed to carrying out an attack on a very grand scale,”
Um, except it wasn’t a bomb. And the FBI just didn’t happen upon this guy by chance. Nor were they tipped off at the last second. No, they’d been watching this guy for months. They’d been working with him. It seems that they even assembled his bomb for him, although the bomb they built was not real.
However, the supposed explosive was a dummy that FBI operatives supplied to him, according to an affidavit in support of a criminal complaint signed Friday night by U.S. Magistrate Judge John V. Acosta.
...
The arrest was the culmination of a long-term undercover operation, during which Mohamud had been monitored for months as his alleged bomb plot developed.“The device was in fact inert, and the public was never in danger,” according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
According to the FBI affidavit, the case began in August 2009 when Mohamud was in e-mail contact with an unindicted associate overseas who was believed to be involved in terrorist activities. In December 2009, while the unindicted associate was in a frontier province of Pakistan, Mohamud and the associate discussed the possibility of Mohamud traveling to Pakistan to participate in violent jihad.
The associate allegedly referred Mohamud to a second associate overseas and provided him with a name and e-mail address. In the months that followed, Mohamud made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the second associate.
Ultimately, an FBI undercover operative contacted Mohamud in a June 2010 e-mail under the guise of being an associate of the first unindicted associate.
So when this kid - who was probably about 17 at the time this started - tries and tries and tries to hook up with the real jihadis, and FAILS every single time, the FBI puts on a digital kaffiyea and makes contact with him. And then leads the kid around by the nose for the next solid year?
Mohamud and the FBI operative agreed to meet in Portland a month later. Mohamud allegedly told the FBI operative that he had written articles that were published in Jihad Recollections, an online magazine that advocated holy war.
Yes, they gave the boy a whole bunch of chances to back out.
The FBI operatives cautioned Mohamud several times about the seriousness of his plan, noting that there would be many people, including children, at the event, and that Mohamud could abandon his plans at any time with no shame.
But he wouldn’t. So they talked him into letting them build the bomb for him. And they even took him on an outing before this to set of a smaller real bomb. To prove their own bona fides?
He allegedly identified a location to place the bomb and mailed bomb components to the FBI operatives, who he believed were assembling the device. He also mailed them passport photos so he could sneak out of the country after the attack, according to the affidavit.
He provided the FBI operatives with a thumbdrive that contained detailed directions to the bomb location and operational instructions for the attack.
On Nov. 4, Mohamud and the FBI operatives traveled to a remote spot in Lincoln County, where they detonated a bomb concealed in a backpack as a trial run for the upcoming attack.
And so on and so on. But what they never did was take the kid by the scruff of his neck, ring the doorbell at his parent’s house, and say, “Look Dad, your kid wants to be a terrorist. And we’ve got the proof. You’d better straighten him out right now, because if we have to do it, he’ll either wind up in a pine box or spend the rest of his life in jail.”
Is there a line in here somewhere? A limit? I have not yet heard that this kid’s arrest has led to an entire terrorist network being rolled up, or that any great new sources of information have been gleaned by interrogating him. What I have read sounds a lot like enabling. I don’t want to say “entrapment”, but the FBI was onto this kid from the beginning. Why not just collect him then and get him some psychiatric treatment? Why bother to let him go all the way to planting a “bomb” and “pushing the button” before arresting him? In which case, why not shoot him?
Meanwhile, there’s that nutjob Serb out in California with so much explosives in his house that stepping on the grass is like jumping on a landmine. And the ONLY way he got found out is when the yard guy got blown up by accident. And notice the part of that story you really, really aren’t hearing about: he’s been back and forth to Mexico a whole bunch of times lately. Wonder if that’s where he got the explosives, and maybe even the training to use them?
So I’m kind of wondering if this was the right approach ... or the right use of resources. Yes, absolutely it’s better to have fed this Somali dingbat a line of poop the whole time, than to have had no contact or awareness of him and then come in with the dustpan and brush and absorbent paper towels when he sets off a REAL bomb. But it sure makes me wonder how many of these “naturalized citizens” from radical muslim lands are in our country plotting bad things. Maybe we shouldn’t have let them in in the first place?
Maybe I’m in one of those “root causes” moods. As a nation we spend so damn much blood and treasure trying to “win hearts and minds” overseas, so why not do it right here? Why aren’t all parents - not just muzzies - not pointing out how stupid, wasteful, and ultimately ineffective, jihad splodeydope-ism is? I don’t see that happening. I don’t see “Your daily message of peace and tolerance, brought to you by CAIR” on the TV or in the newspapers. I don’t see the American Imams on the religious channels preaching any of that Rodney King “Why can’t we all just get along” stuff.
So maybe it is better that the FBI have the “terrorist cells” so heavily infiltrated that only 1 in 1000 of them is actually real. And that all the emails over to sandland are read and perhaps redirected. So all our stupid little children, those angst ridden teens who can’t get laid or who can’t fit in, who “try to get even” and turn to jihad are really almost always just turning themselves over to the feds. We’re safer that way ... but we’d be safer, and the government would spend a whole lot less money, if somehow the parents, schools, and local churches and mosques could get involved when the “roots” have only sent up a small bud or two. And by “a small bud” and “getting involved” I don’t mean doping little kids to the gills with psych meds and expelling them from school when they make stick figure drawings of cowboys and soldiers with guns when they’re 6. That’s an asinine reaction indicative of a pendulum swung way too far the wrong way, and belies any critical reasoning. But somewhere between pulling wings off of flies, setting fire to the neighbor’s cat, and Columbine or Ground Zero there has to be a point where a bit of effort can change the river’s direction.

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/11/fbi_thwarts_terrorist_bombing.html
On the third hand, or is it the fifth or sixth one by now ... I’m sure the FBI wants everyone to believe how close they are watching, and how much of the terrorist underworld they have sewn up. And it seems like they do, as wannabe after wannabe has been caught year after year. Until the next big blast catches everyone by surprise. Like, um, where would we be if that gardener had taken the day off, or stepped onto a different patch of grass?

1. shoplift, 2. get caught, 3. run down arresting officer, 4. given time for 7 wk vacation. wth?
It is not possible to read the papers I do every day and not share the insanity on a blog. I don’t enjoy passing on this kind of thing, but the extent of the lunacy and lack of common sense and fairness found in what they laughingly call the ‘Justice System’ just can’t be ignored.
So far, in all the time I’ve been here I haven’t run across one single person who thinks the legal system as regards criminality is working. As well, there is great unease over what might be a broken promise by the PM to undo the human rights laws that have made a mockery of justice.
If you folks back home in the USA think that things are a mite screwy with our system, and they assuredly are, be thankful that so far at least, our rules and laws whatever the flaw, isn’t tied to the European courts and their dictates. They seem to be here and the Brits are not at all happy about it. Especially the victims of crime and their families. Wait till you see the post that follows this one. You’ll get a taste of insanity and what it means to have your sovereignty impinged.
But in the meantime ...
Shoplifter who ran down policeman told ‘Take 7-week trip-of-a-lifetime before we lock you up’
After mowing down a policeman in an attempt to escape justice, shoplifter Saphhia Da-Silva was expected to face the full wrath of the British legal system.
But instead magistrates have adjourned sentencing – so she can enjoy a pre-booked seven-week holiday to Australia.
Da-Silva was spotted shoplifting at a Gap store and was followed to her car by two police community support officers.
As she attempted to escape in a silver BMW, hit an empty pushchair and then PCSO Daniel Smith flinging him 5ft in the air.
Her case had been adjourned for pre-sentence reports, and a sentencing hearing would have likely been held in mid-December.
But the mother-of-two’s planned seven-week trip Down Under, on a visa, is from November 28 to January 15 so Ashford magistrates agreed to adjourn the date until January 31.
Nigel Numas, for Da-Silva, said: ‘She wants to go to Australia and take her mother and children to see her nan.’
Chairman of the bench Anne Norris told him: ‘We are dealing with something extremely serious. Is it relevant for your client to go on holiday?
‘There is also a victim who is off sick and has been seriously injured.’

how about an anti-west week at a university? in the cards? already here.
Why oh why oh why are there idiot Jews like this Finkelstinker kike running around free? Yeah, yeah I understand about freedom of speech. OK, I suppose that includes the right to be a traitorous scum bag idiot. But does it have to be a Jew also? Or least one in name. Why can’t he change his name to Abdolah Jones or Machmood Smith so nobody will know he’s a Jew. What a total embarrassment he is. Non Jews look at fool like this and too many will say, and I know they will. Well, what do you expect from a Jew? From Jews like this one in particular, I’d have to say exactly what he’s doing. He plays right into the stereotype.
There were a number of Nazi supporting Jews in Germany in the 30s, who also ended up dead. What a surprise.
Where’s the Mossad damn it?
UK university hosts ‘anti-West’ week under ‘justice’ guise
Jerusalem Post
By JONNY PAULOrganized by Islamic Society at Imperial College London, “Justice Week” described as forum “to highlight Islamic perspective of injustices.”
Talkbacks (4)
LONDON – One of the world’s most prestigious science- based universities is this week hosting an anti-West week accused of peddling “jihadist propaganda” in which controversial American anti-Israel activist and author Norman Finkelstein will appear, alongside Islamists accused of influencing perpetrators of terrorist acts.Organized by the Islamic Society at Imperial College London, “Justice Week” is described as an “exciting new project…to educate ourselves about some of the injustices found in the world” and a forum “to highlight the Islamic perspective of injustices at home and abroad.”
The event is being publicized through the Islamic Society and the Imperial College Union websites, and on Facebook.
On Thursday, Finkelstein, a Hamas and Hizbullah supporter, will give two talks – one titled “Truth of the Gaza Invasion,” the other “Consequences of the Gaza Invasion” – to promote his new book on the subject.
Wednesday sees a screening of Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story, followed by commentary from former pan-Islamic group Hizb-ut- Tahrir [liberation party] chairman Jamal Harwood.
Currently subject to a “no platform policy” by the National Union of Students (NUS), which blocks it from participating in any NUS event or standing in an NUS election, Hizb-ut-Tahrir is set to be banned by the British government. The group aims to unify Muslim countries as an Islamic caliphate ruled by Islamic law and has been accused of terrorist links.
The week will also include an event with Asim Qureshi, who will discuss “injustices in recent wars and policies,” particularly the case of Aafia Siddique, jailed earlier this year by a US court for 86 years for the attempted murder of American personnel in Afghanistan.
Qureshi represents “Cage Prisoners,” a London-based group set up to raise awareness of “the plight of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and other detainees held as part of the War on Terror.”
According to reports, the group campaigns on behalf of Muslim prisoners, including convicted terrorists. It has been accused by commentators in the counter-radicalization field of having links to Anwar al-Awlaki – the radical Yemeni cleric accused of influencing the Christmas Day bomber and former University College London student Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab.
Campus counter-radicalization campaign group Student Rights has questioned why an event “dedicated to jihadist propaganda” is being allowed to take place on a university campus.
“Justice Week appears to be dedicated to jihadist propaganda on taxpayer-funded university campuses,” said Matthew Walker from Student Rights. “The presence of those who have previously been banned and endorsed the likes of Anwar al-Awlaki proves that despite recent publicity regarding radicalization on campuses – these events are still being approved by university authorities.”
The director of the Londonbased think tank Center for Social Cohesion, Douglas Murray, said the week is more about injustice and hate.
“This is not a week that has anything to do with justice,” Murray said. “It is only to do with injustice and hate.

TSA Confiscates Nail Clippers From Soldiers Returning From Afghanistan. u couldn’t make it up.
Well, I hardly know what to make of this story. If it isn’t a joke I know what Drew will say (almost) cos he’s already lost it on this subject.
So Drew, if you’re feeling ok and are on site, please. Maybe a glass of wine before you read this. Or something stronger. Right. Forget the wine.
A double shot of something strong and be sitting down. Somehow, I’m doubtful this is a gag. If it’s true it deserves an entire page of moonbats and nothing but the link to the story.
Unbelievable.
So found myself at theodore’s world reading this.
TSA Confiscates Nail Clippers From Soldiers Returning From Afghanistan
A friend of mine sent me this about his TSA experience. He, unlike most of us, was coming back into the country from Afghanistan on a military charter
As the Chalk Leader for my flight home from Afghanistan, I witnessed the following:
When we were on our way back from Afghanistan, we flew out of Baghram Air Field. We went through customs at BAF, full body scanners (no groping), had all of our bags searched, the whole nine yards.
Our first stop was Shannon, Ireland to refuel. After that, we had to stop at Indianapolis, Indiana to drop off about 100 folks from the Indiana National Guard. That’s where the stupid started.
First, everyone was forced to get off the plane–even though the plane wasn’t refueling again. All 330 people got off that plane, rather than let the 100 people from the ING get off. We were filed from the plane to a holding area. No vending machines, no means of escape. Only a male/female latrine.
It’s probably important to mention that we were ALL carrying weapons. Everyone was carrying an M4 Carbine (rifle) and some, like me, were also carrying an M9 pistol. Oh, and our gunners had M-240B machine guns. Of course, the weapons weren’t loaded. And we had been cleared of all ammo well before we even got to customs at Baghram, then AGAIN at customs.
The TSA personnel at the airport seriously considered making us unload all of the baggage from the SECURE cargo hold to have it reinspected. Keep in mind, this cargo had been unpacked, inspected piece by piece by U.S. Customs officials, resealed and had bomb-sniffing dogs give it a one-hour run through. After two hours of sitting in this holding area, the TSA decided not to reinspect our Cargo–just to inspect us again: Soldiers on the way home from war, who had already been inspected, reinspected and kept in a SECURE holding area for 2 hours. Ok, whatever. So we lined up to go through security AGAIN.
This is probably another good time to remind you all that all of us were carrying actual assault rifles, and some of us were also carrying pistols.
So we’re in line, going through one at a time. One of our Soldiers had his Gerber multi-tool. TSA confiscated it. Kind of ridiculous, but it gets better. A few minutes later, a guy empties his pockets and has a pair of nail clippers. Nail clippers. TSA informs the Soldier that they’re going to confiscate his nail clippers. The conversation went something like this:
TSA Guy: You can’t take those on the plane.
Soldier: What? I’ve had them since we left country.
TSA Guy: You’re not suppose to have them.
Soldier: Why?
TSA Guy: They can be used as a weapon.
Soldier: [touches butt stock of the rifle] But this actually is a weapon. And I’m allowed to take it on.
TSA Guy: Yeah but you can’t use it to take over the plane. You don’t have bullets.
Soldier: And I can take over the plane with nail clippers?
TSA Guy: [awkward silence]
Me: Dude, just give him your damn nail clippers so we can get the f**k out of here. I’ll buy you a new set.
Soldier: [hands nail clippers to TSA guy, makes it through security]
This might be a good time to remind everyone that approximately 233 people re-boarded that plane with assault rifles, pistols, and machine guns–but nothing that could have been used as a weapon.

Student, 13, told to remove Stars and Stripes from his bike .. when will we start killing lefties?
This can only happen in a PC state in a situation with libtards in charge of things. I really wish there were some way of removing the pc crowd, by any means, who are responsible for teaching and brainwashing a generation into buying into this sort of crap. Jeez I really hate the bastards.
Student, 13, told to remove Stars and Stripes from his bike… to avoid ‘racial tensions’ with other pupilsBy Daily Mail Reporter
13th November 2010
A California middle school student was told to remove a U.S. flag from his bike to avoid ‘racial tensions’ with other pupils.Cody Alicea, 13, was told not to fly the flag from his bike while at Denair Middle School, in Sacramento, after other students made complaints, according to KCRA-TV.
District superintendent Edward Parraz said that racial tensions at the school boiled over during the Cinco de Mayo holiday - a national holiday in Mexico.
Mr Parraz said: ‘The First Amendment is important. We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsibility.
‘Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they’ll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don’t really want.
‘We want them to appreciate the cultures.’
The teenagers parents said he flies the flag from his bike as a tribute to service veterans in his family.
His father Robert Kisner said: ‘He’s got that flag on his bike because he’s proud of where he comes from.’
The student folds the flag up and keeps it in his backpack during classes, the TV station added.
superintendent Edward Parraz said the following.
‘Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know’
Huh? you know, you know? What’s with this guy? I think we can overlook a wetback accent. But should not a school superintendent be able to string a few words together better then that?
Word is that the flag was reinstated but I’m not pacified. How could that happen to begin with? Teach the fuckin wetback kiddies that our flag takes precedence. One right no immigrant motherhumper has, is the right to be ‘offended’ by OUR FLAG. Damn it! What the hell is wrong with ppl today?
If our flag offends you, get the fuck out of my country you stupid assed pile of shit. And who the hell is teaching school kids that they should be offended in the first damn place?

was this the awful result of a night out drinking with the boys? oh, but it’s art.
Not one of my better days and seeing this doesn’t help any. How can they do this kind of thing and keep a straight face.
And the public paid for it?
It’s the Royal Ontario Museum.
It looks like crap. And it is that.
See kids? This is what your brain on drugs produces.

love springs eternal and in this case, it’s gross.
What a revolting image this is. GAK!
And what a self delusional jerk she is. If she’s 59 as the article says, then I’m a 25 year old rocket scientist who in my spare time discovered the cure for cancer
while solving the problems in the middle east.
According to the story, they actually went to bed together. Well why not? She surely couldn’t get a white guy (unless blind) into the sack. How gross both are.
And how could he possibly perform with that ... that .... old bag. Disgusting thought. Both of em.
The granny who wed a Gambian waiter 35 years her junior, then found he only wanted a British visa. Here, she tells how she’s taking delicious revenge
By Natasha Courtenay-Smith
The warning bells should have been sounding loud and clear. Just three weeks before Mary Cotnoir’s wedding day, her 25-year-old husband-to-be, Mr Demba Sanneh from Gambia, was denied a visa to visit her in the UK.
![]()
The Home Office said her fiancé had failed to give a ‘credible explanation’ for his trip and was deeply suspicious of his true motives.
So what did Mary, a 59-year-old grandmother, do? Did she take stock and accept that her toyboy lover — a man nearly 35 years her junior — was not entirely honourable? Did she even consider postponing her nuptials until she could be absolutely sure of him?
Not for one minute. Utterly smitten, she got on a plane to Africa and married him anyway.
It will, of course, come as little surprise that just eight days into their union everything fell apart after Mary discovered her husband was only interested in her money and the possibility of gaining a British visa.
This week, though, her story took a most unlikely twist. Mary, in an act of delicious revenge, announced she is refusing to divorce Mr Sanneh, so he cannot dupe another unsuspecting tourist into marriage — and bringing his dream of starting a new life in the UK to an abrupt halt.
Suddenly, this unassuming care worker from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, seems somewhat audacious; and it’s clear she is revelling in taking what she sees as a valiant stand.
‘It was just lovely to be with someone who was so caring, deeply religious — he was Muslim — and who didn’t drink. Two days before I left, we slept together for the first time, and it was so exciting. It had been so long since I’d been intimate with someone.
‘At some point during the week, Demba laid his cards on the table. He said he was offering love, sex and companionship, but in return he wanted my help. He said perhaps I could get him a laptop, then he could go to college and get a better job.
‘I thought: “Well, a laptop is nothing” — and I wanted to help him. He had nothing. He lived with 20 members of his family in a tiny place. His room was like a cupboard.’
By the time she left Gambia, Mary admits she was infatuated. She and Demba stayed in touch via email and text, and Mary returned to visit him for another fortnight in March, taking with her the promised laptop.
They stayed together in a hotel room paid for by Mary, and on the second day Demba proposed. He offered her a ring he’d had made by a local silversmith.
Lovestruck, she readily accepted.

Lets give Danzig back to the Germans ..ok.. maybe a bit extreme but … not happy with Poles today
Can’t imagine what’s next but .... ?
Too frustrated at the moment. What’s he doing loose? Why? Is he really innocent? Is there something else going on here? Did he in fact mastermind the attack on the USS Cole?
Al-Nashiri was the chief al Qaeda operative in the Persian Gulf region and allegedly masterminded the deadly 2000 attack on the USS Cole in Yemen
Terrorism suspect given ‘victim’ status by Polish legal authorities
A terrorism suspect who claims he was detained and tortured at a secret CIA site in Poland has been granted the status of “victim” by the Polish legal authorities.
By Matthew Day in Warsaw
The status gives credence to allegations by Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, a Saudi citizen suspected by the US of involvement in the bombing of the warship USS Cole in 2000, that he was held at an airfield in Poland and subjected to harsh interrogation tactics, including being threatened with an electric drill, by American intelligence officers in 2002.
“Granting ‘victim status’ means that the prosecutor’s office is, to a great extent, convinced of the argumentation that he was rendered and held illegally on the territory of Poland,” said Adam Bodnar from the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights.
The legal move, which allows Mr Al-Nashiri ‘s lawyers to view evidence and appeal against decisions, comes as part of a two-year investigation by Polish prosecutors into whether the CIA operated a clandestine camp in Poland as part of its anti-terrorism operations.
Poland’s former leaders have always denied the existence of a so-called black-site.
Aleksander Kwasniewski, Polish president in 2002, said “that there were no prisons” although he conceded that US flights had landed at Szymany Airport, the suspected location of the camp, in north-east Poland.
Despite the denial, there is mounting evidence that the US operated a secret base in Poland from December 2002 to the autumn of 2003, and that detainees were subject to torture.
Last month a declassified report by the Inspector General of the CIA revealed that an agent code-named “Albert” used techniques unauthorised by the US justice department on Mr Al-Nashiri in Poland.

Head teacher says schoolchildren do not need books …. ok, then what? answer > Wikipedia.
At some point last week, or maybe the one before, I posted a stupid school story. I can’t even remember now exactly what was at issue, except I assigned it a Moonbat I’m sure.
Well, now it’s the turn of my own country and frankly I don’t get it. No books? How’s that work? This I think deserves a Moonbat or two. See what you make of it.
Is it only me or does this not make any sense? And what’s this person doing in a school anyway? Read on and see an example of his academic brilliance.
Maybe someone should have shared a book with him.

Head teacher says schoolchildren do not need books and recommends WikipediaThe head teacher of a school in New York is facing calls to resign after he sent out an error-strewn letter claiming that children did not need books, while he also recommended Wikipedia.
By Jon Swaine in New York
Andrew Buck, the principal of The Middle School for Art and Philosophy, Brooklyn, wrote to his teachers to defend the school’s policy of not providing textbooks, which had been criticised by some parents.
His memo contained so many spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and non-sequiturs that a concerned member of staff passed it on to parents, who began handing out copies at the school gates.
Mr Buck, who is paid $130,000 (£83,000) a year, wrote: “Text books are the soup de jour, the *sine qua non*, the nut and bolts of teaching and learning in high school and college so to speak.” However, he added, “just because student have a text book, doesn’t mean she or she will be able to read it Additionally students can’t use a text book to learn how to learn from a textbook.
“Are text books necessary? No. Are text books important? Yes. Can a teacher sufficiently teach a course without them? Yes, but conditionally.”
Mr Buck went on to say that not being able to answer questions in his own school textbooks made him feel “dumb and inadequate” when he was a boy.
“Personal experience aside, which surfaces a concern about the potential adverse affects of textbooks to students learning, let’s return to the essential question of learning and how it is best achieved,” he wrote.
After listing the names of educational theorists whose work, he said, would back up his claims, Mr Buck wrote: “Check out Wikipedia if you want to learn more about learning theory”.
Pupils at the school, where only one in eight 14-year-olds passed state reading exams last year, are given no textbooks for some classes and have to share in others. The school has no library.
Paulette Brown, a nursing assistant with a daughter at the school, told local reporters: “Our principal denies us books and then he sends this nonsense. You can’t understand what he’s saying in the letter. He has to go.”
Mr Buck, a former official in the local education department, has led the school since its foundation in 2007. He was found to be the least trusted principal in Brooklyn by a New York teachers union survey the following year.
He said in an emailed statement: “I often correspond with teachers on educational issues to enhance communications and generate discussion. If any parent has concerns, I am available to speak with them.”

suicides with monotonous regularity ….
Here’s yet another example of the kind of thing that brings down that unwanted red curtain. (rcob)
So far he hasn’t said sorry and I’m glad about that. I hope the minister stays the course and ignores the idiot critics who are oh so easily “offended” noy only for themselves, but for ppl they don’t know and never will meet.
I am not at all bothered that someone with a name like Mahmood is offended. Nobody with a name like that or even similar to it should be telling anyone in a western country what to say or not say. Even if that Mahmood person is an MP himself. Up yours Khalid. And Anglicize your name btw. And up yours as well to those ‘mental health professionals’ who just can’t understand what the minister was saying or how it was meant. He was not making fun of sad situations but making a statement on fact. See for yourself.
Transport secretary faces anger over flippant remarks on suicidesThe Transport Secretary is facing criticism over a “flippant” remark about people committing suicide by jumping in front of trains.
By Melissa KiteIn an interview, Philip Hammond suggested that the train service he used from Surrey to London was “pretty reliable, unless somebody jumps off the platform at Wimbledon, which happens with monotonous regularity.”
His remarks were condemned as insensitive by mental health professionals. There are around 200 suicides a year on the railways.
“There is nothing inconsiderate or amusing about people taking their own lives.”
Labour MP Khalid Mahmood said: “These comments are absolutely disgraceful. Mr Hammond should apologise immediately to anyone who has ever been affected by the tragic events of a suicide for his callous flippancy.”
Earlier this year Network Rail announced a £5 million five-year plan in conjunction with the Samaritans to reduce the number of suicides, including posters with helpline contact details at key stations around the country.
They also called for responsible and sensitive attitudes towards the issue.
Suicides cost Network Rail an estimated £15 million in compensation payments to train operators because of delays.
A spokeswoman for Network Rail said last night: “We are working very closely with the Samaritans to reduce suicides on the network. They are a tragedy for those involved. From a passenger and business perspective they are incredibly disruptive. I think you had better ask Mr Hammond about whether or not his remarks were appropriate.”

museum displays hidden so as not to offend pagans and other sensitives … our wacky world today
Well here we go again. It not only never ends, it gets worse. But that won’t surprise anyone.
I think it’s all because we have so much leisure time and so much time to dream up new dizzily stupid things that past generations might have laughed at. And then locked up the people who advanced stupidity.
A few weeks ago I was certain I’d found the Moonbat award for the year, even though the year isn’t finished yet. I just didn’t think in the short time left, anyone would come up with a higher level of social insanity. But hey .... leave it to the legions of the politically correct morons who sadly are in charge of things.
Mummy dearest .... why are you hiding?
So as not to offend those more sensitive souls.
Welcome to more of the world of IDIOTS! ![]()

Hide your mummies! Museum displays of human remains are covered up for fear of offending pagansBy Sarah Harris
Last updated at 7:39 AM on 25th October 2010Museums are hiding away mummies and human remains for fear of offending pagans and other minority groups, it has been revealed.
They are putting up warning signs, closing previously opened coffins and displaying exhibits in darkened cases.
This is despite the fact that such displays are among the most popular attractions. The move is designed to give the skeletons and mummies ‘privacy’ and to avoid upsetting faith groups and even some museum staff, according to academic findings.
Research shows how 17 museums have drafted policies on human remains, with most advocating that signs are put up to warn visitors of their presence.
Manchester University Museum’s policy requires consultation before displaying human remains, particularly with what it calls ‘marginalised communities and faith groups’.At the insistence of a pagan group called Honouring the Ancient Dead, it removed the head of an Iron Age bog body – the skull of Worsley Man, which was found buried near Manchester 50 years ago – from display.
It also covered up the unwrapped mummy of Asru, the partially-wrapped mummy of Khary, and a child mummy with sheets. The three mummies were uncovered only after a public protest.Meanwhile, the Egypt gallery at Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery has changed its display of Egyptian human remains.
Instead of the previous display of mummies in open coffins, it now exhibits them with half closed lids, which it considers more respectful.
Here’s a comment from the source at the Daily Mail. Kinda says it all.
More PC insanity, ancient people went to extreme lengths to claim a little slice of immortality utilising mummification and other skills handed down over generations so now PC dimwits and members of other shallow hippy new age ‘religions’ make it so the small story from the past that these ancestors have to tell is ignominiously silenced as they are hidden away at the back of museum storerooms or re-buried.
It seems totally illogical that academics have to listen to people who go around claiming to be witches or druids anyway, these loons would be far too dimwitted to survive in pre-Christian times when the the old belief systems flourished and certainly should not be involved in destroying the archaeological heritage of this or any other country on the basis of half baked, rehashed quasi-religious dogma most likely pieced together from less than accurate Victorian history books and a mish-mash of local folk tales.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
- Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
