It started with an afternoon drinking session.

And ended with her knickers down around her ankles, in broad daylight, in public, when the fuzz arrived.

Draggin me tired old and poor bones outta bed for this I am, begorrah.

It reads funny in the hard copy and I suppose it may cause a grin here too.
But.  This is serious stuff when one gives a little bit of extra thought to it.

She wants to hide who she is from the public, she is after all, a QC. That’s a kind of a lawyer.  I have not researched what “kind of” works out to.
Here’s what’s so bothersome.

In order to hide her ID, our not so fair lady now accuses the guy of sexual assault.
That’s because over here and probably USA too for all I know, it’s the same there.
Once a lady comes forward with an accusation, she becomes anonymous.

Lately, there have been a number of high profile cases here in the UK, where some poor schnook who it later is found to be not guilty, has his life on hold for a year or more while his case works its way thru the media and the courts.  His home is searched and his face is plastered all over the media, generally with a police invitation to other “victims” of his abuse to please come forward.
Anonymously.  And just like that … several hundred woman and girls suddenly discover that they too have been abused and Elvis was a witness.

I am not making light of genuine abuse. You need to understand that. And of course, I can only write as a male observer via the nation’s media reportage.

The authorities say that victims of sexual assault in large numbers, hold back and do not accuse their attacker.  Fear is one reason they remain silent.  Another reason given is that women and especially young girls, fear that nobody will believe them, and so remain silent too. In order to overcome this sorry plight, police withhold the names of the people making the accusations. I can even understand that, and my immediate reaction is to side with the alleged victim.

So, as it already has happened, there are men and most especially high profile ones,
who go through a kind of living hell for a long time before the dust settles.
And all it take is one person to claim they’ve been touched, abused or raped outright,
to set the process in motion.

And remain anonymous.

Rush hour romp: Married City lawyer accused of having sex with top QC at Waterloo station

A married City lawyer has appeared in court accused of having sex with a prominent QC at Waterloo train station.

Graeme Stening, general counsel at London private equity outfit Doughty Hanson & Co, and the unnamed female barrister, were arrested by police outside the busy commuter hub, it emerged yesterday.

According to a report in The Times, the top lawyer and “middle-aged barrister” embarked on an afternoon drinking session and were arrested after members of the public made complaints about their “activities”.

The unnamed QC, who is described by the newspaper as a “leader in her field”, admitted outraging public decency last summer. She also accepted a police caution that will appear on her criminal record.

But fast-forward six weeks and the prominent barrister claimed she had actually been the victim of a sexual assault that evening. As a result, she is now entitled to lifetime anonymity. It is also understood that she has applied to have her caution quashed.

51 year-old Stening — who spent time with City outfit Simmons & Simmons and Pinsent Masons legacy firm Simpson Curtis, according to his current online work bio — appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of outraging public decency.

The top lawyer was due to stand trial earlier this month, however a further file is now being considered by the Crown Prosecution Service, delaying proceedings until June.

homosexual relationships to be promoted in schools as positive says union

So what happens if mom and dad tell their kid to ignore what the school says and undoes what the school will teach?
Jail?  If this does become the rule, I can see lots of parents being dragged into court. Maybe fined?

The National Union of Teachers (NUT), I didn’t make up the nut part but they are that ok.

This should be quite interesting I think. Because they are going to try and push for this in muslim schools as well.
Oh boy. Not too sure I wanna see the results of that.  Mayhem I would bet.

The National Union of Teachers has called for a ‘positive portrayal of same sex relationships’ in lessons to be made ‘compulsory’ under the next government.

It said MPs had a duty to tackle ‘homophobia, biphobia and transphobia’ in schools and create a ‘positive climate of understanding about sexuality’.

But critics accused the NUT of ‘thought control’ and said the ‘intolerant’ proposals risked ‘oversexualising’ children at a young age.

Meanwhile, Christian groups warned it would compel teachers at faith schools to act against their beliefs.

However, the union said the changes were needed to tackle prejudice which was ‘still strongly prevalent in our schools’.

Simon Calvert of the Christian Institute said: ‘This motion is itself an act of intolerance towards mainstream Christians and their beliefs. It would force Christian teachers to have to choose between their faith and their job.

‘I wonder whether Christian members of the NUT who have paid their dues can expect any help from the NUT when their jobs are on the line.’

He added that Church schools already teach ‘love and tolerance’ of others without having to explicitly approve of same sex relationships.

The proposal was contained in a motion on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights passed by the NUT at its annual conference in Harrogate yesterday.

It stated: ‘Conference instructs the executive to call upon the present and future government to … make it compulsory that all schools’ sex education policies include a positive portrayal of same sex relationships.’

The NUT said only 10 per cent of LGBT teachers felt confident to be ‘out’ to students.

The law would also see teachers at Muslim and Jewish schools compelled to promote gay marriage and other issues that go against their beliefs.

The proposal comes amid a row over the government’s new requirement for schools to teach ‘fundamental British values’, which include tolerance of other faiths and lifestyles.

Sex and relationships education is mandatory for pupils at council-run secondary schools. It is also compulsory for children aged between five and 14 at council-run schools to learn about sex as part of the science curriculum.

does anyone believe a 4 year old can commit rape? world may be sicker than we thought.

Takes a lot these days to make me scratch my head when reading a story in the paper and say to myself, self … that can’t really be true. Nah. Too much ott.

I moved on from questioning some horror story a long time ago. Nowadays almost nothing surprises me. 
I have read about groups of young punks who target very old ppl, and not satisfied with merely robbing them, the bastards take delight in beating the hell out them.
Same thing with some poor handicapped person, and like the very old, unable to offer any sort of defense. And sometimes people have died.  But I am not surprised.

Well, today I read something that did surprise me because I had never, ever heard or read of anything quite this bizarre. I don’t even know how it’s possible.

I have read about boys as young as ten, who have raped young girls, some so young they’re hardly out of babyhood.. Does not surprise me. It did when I fist read about it a few years ago, but now it’s just part of the landscape. No surprise there. And 9 isn’t any surprise either. 

But FOUR YEARS OLD and a rapist?  Huh? Four?  As in, 4?

And, an 8 year old girl has, it is reported, sexually assaulted a young boy.
Paper didn’t say how young or what sort of assault specifically.  Not sure I wanna know.  But a girl?  Of 8?  Not surprised really. True, one doesn’t hear of that often, but I am still not surprised.  However ….
I find it very hard to get my head around a 4 year old rapist.
I would not have thought he had anything to rape with at that age.  I would not have even thought a four year old was capable of thinking in those terms.

Taliban militants caught having sex with cow in Badakhshan

A group of Taliban militants were captured by local residents in northeastern Badakhshan province while they were having sex with a cow.

The Koran must approve of bestiality. I’ve read a couple of translations and I can’t recall such acts being prohibited. I don’t really recall moo-slims as having anything like our Ten Commandments. Guess they violated the 10th Commandment:

Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

The officials furhter added that the militants were initially disarmed by villagers and were then beaten.

Deputy provincial governor Gul Mohammad Bidar said they are aware of the incident involving a number of Taliban militants sexually abusing cows.

He said the local residents have launched a demonstration agains the Taliban militants for committing such a shameful act.

No doubt. These are Hindus. Cows are sacred. This is worse than dumping a Koran down the toilet (I’d like to see how to do that! Guess it’s possible if you have an outhouse handy.) Still, it’s gutsy to launch demonstrations against the Taliban.

Jennifer Lawrence is making no apologies about keeping naked pictures of herself on her computer.

But the 24-year-old actress is hitting back at the hackers who stole the provocative shots in Vanity Fair’s November issue.

Jennifer spoke about the incident for the first time by calling the photo theft ‘a sex crime.’

‘It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime,’ she told the publication. ‘It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change.’

Jennifer has spoken out about how the law should be changed so those responsible for the violation of privacy should be prosecuted like sex offenders.

She has said anyone who viewed the pictures should ‘cower with shame’.

The Hunger Games star indicated that she took nude selfies for her boyfriend at the time and although she didn’t name him in the interview the special someone is believed to be actor Nicholas Hoult.

‘I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years,’ she told the magazine. ‘It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he’s going to look at you.’

Then the unthinkable happened: hackers broke into her iCloud and posted the photos online on August 31.

At first, Jennifer was brought to tears.

‘I was just so afraid. I didn’t know how this would affect my career,’ Jennifer described her initial reaction to the news.

‘Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this,’ she said.

‘It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world.’

‘Even people who I know and love say, “Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.” I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.’

Another big consequence was that Miss Lawrence had to tell her father Gary, a construction worker, that naked images of her were being viewed by millions of people online.

Miss Lawrence said he took the news far better than she expected.

She said: ‘I don’t care how much money I get for The Hunger Games, I promise you, anybody given the choice of that kind of money or having to make a phone call to tell your dad that something like that has happened, it’s not worth it.’

Stolen Images

Bit of a big thing on the Hollywood gossip news ... I may not have the story exactly right, but it looks like a whole bunch of starlets had taken naked pictures of themselves and stored them in the “cloud”, which was then somehow hacked. And all the pictures got posted at some grubby websites over the weekend.

And if it wasn’t the “cloud” that was hacked, then it was dozens and dozens of cell phone accounts.

So now we’ve got the opinion pieces going left and right. Let’s not blame the victim! It’s an invasion of privacy! We need laws that can actually punish the hackers!  yadda yadda yadda.

I don’t want to play 1940’s misogynist. Far be it for me to say, hey, you don’t want people to see naked pictures of you, then don’t take naked pictures of you. Hey, that would be trampling their rights of self expression, even though it seems like mighty good advice! At the very least, use a real camera to take those pictures, download the images to a CD, and look at the pictures from there. Not online, not in some “cloud”, not on your cellphone, not on a thumb drive, not even on your PC. Ha, don’t even use a film camera if you aren’t doing the developing yourself. You can’t trust anyone these days, especially not if you’re some famous Hollywood beauty. Don’t be stupid.

On the other hand, this is getting to be a mighty thin line. Actresses seem to spend an awful lot of time naked in public these days. Or nearly so. And not just at Cannes, or the sans-panties upskirts all the paparazzi are forever taking. Not to mention the “sex tapes” used to vault relative unknowns into popularity and fame. The line between actress and ... um, temple virgin, ahem ... is not just microscopically thin but rather blurred. “Respect me for my talent, for my art!” while I make a career out of running around so close to nude that I always have pneumonia.

I mean, come on. We watched American Hustle last night. I found the film to be confusing, poorly acted, and kind of stupid, but it was fun watching all the old cars, clothes, hairstyles, furniture, and activities of what Hollywood presents these days as “regular life” in the 70s. The film stars the delectable Amy Adams, one of my favorite modern film redheads. The thing is, she spends the entire film with her boobs hanging out. Not that I’m complaining. She’s got great boobs. Hell, she’s got great everything. But she didn’t wear a single outfit in the whole film that wasn’t open down to her navel and held in place with nipple velcro. Side boob, underboob, downblouse, upskirt, pokies, nipslip ... every scene. And half of them were slit up nearly to the waist to show off every last inch of her fabulous legs. It wasn’t even sexual, it was just how her character dressed all the time. Underwear free and 95% exposed, top to bottom. Yeah, like anyone ever wore clothes like that in public in 1979, and nobody stared, touched, or even commented. Uh huh, Hollywood, keeping it real. Whatever; my point is that there is almost no point looking for or at nude pictures of this one; it’s all on display already anyway. And she is far from alone in this. Exploitation? Sexploitation? Certain voices argue that it’s actually self-empowerment if you do it by choice or for money. Guess I’m moving into Old Fart territory, because I always thought there was another name for getting paid to be naked.

Perhaps it is an age thing. For my fortysomething generation, people who took photographs of themselves in the altogether were known as Reader’s Wives and they were located in the back pages of dirty magazines.

They weren’t ‘cool’ or ‘hot’ or whatever it is these days that one is supposed to be when one is deemed attractive to the opposite sex. They were just a bit sad.

Also, photography required effort. Not like it is now, a casual throw-away gesture, the flick of a thumb. OK, we didn’t quite line up in our Sunday best and stand still for half an hour like the Victorians, but most cameras required a modicum of skill and thought.

If you’re Lawrence’s age — 24 — however, the smartphone is an extension of you. Narcissus had his pool to gaze into; today’s young things have their photo-streams.

Remember, it was Nemesis who showed Narcissus his image, causing the Greek warrior to fall so much in love with himself he eventually expired.

This whole sorry episode feels like the modern equivalent: beautiful celebrities obsessed with their appearance humiliated by their own vanity.

No one is arguing that having your private life all over the internet is anything other than horrid and traumatic. But the simple, hard truth is this: if you don’t want your breasts going viral, it’s probably best not to take pictures of them and keep them on your phone.

So carpets, lawns, DIY, tea, toast and dining outside in summer, regardless of the freezing cold. It’s nothing less than an all-out assault on the British way of life.

I’ve got to hand it to Sarah Vine here. Not only does she know her Greek mythology, she makes a perfect “liquid” juxtaposition between the classic and the modern, and later on in her post she uses the word “febrile” conversationally, proving her superiority to every journalist in the USA. And it’s fun reading her getting steamed about those wanky sprouts in Brussels.

and it all started with a pair of shoes. would you believe.

Correction -
Further on down in the story, I refer to Hollande’s wife.
My error which was brought to my attention by the wife (mine) who reads closer than I have apparently.
President Hollande was never married to begin with. 
But he did leave his “partner” and their four kids for greener (younger?) pastures.

OK … some background is necessary.
First … the President, Francois Hollande.

He was a rather nondescript member of his party.  He had no real enemies because he had no opinions.  The invisible man.
His party was split into several factions, and so he was able to slip in almost unnoticed, to a leadership position.  He brought forward the opinions and ideas of others as if they were his own.  He agreed with everyone and so he was one might say, everyman to his party. 

It helped in no small way, that his live-in partner, who he left four children and a wife for, was an especially ferocious political journalist, who was able to get his promises across to the people. 

Second … French privacy laws, most especially for public servants.

France has some of the strictest privacy laws in the world – but they are increasingly being flouted by a media trying to expose hypocrisy and corruption in public life.

At present it is an offence to publish information about a person’s private life without their express permission.

The love triangle between President Hollande, first lady Valerie Trierweiler and actress Julie Gayet has been known about for around a year. Miss Trierweiler is herself a journalist on the notoriously intrusive glossy magazine Paris Match.

(For American readers here. Miss Trierweiler is also referred to rather scathingly as, The Rotweiler or, the Twittweiler.  Depends on who’s writing about her.  Her style re. interviews is generally tough, she isn’t a pussy cat, she is also very left wing.)

Yet reporters have been scared to expose an affair which could have such widespread ramifications. Instead it has been left to French Closer, a rival of Paris Match owned by an Italian company, to test the privacy laws to their limit.

Closer frequently risks relatively modest fines and legal costs by publishing risque photographs.

Mr Hollande’s immediate predecessors, Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac, all cheated on their wives.

François Mitterrand, the last Socialist president, kept a ‘secret family’ of mistress and daughter at the taxpayers’ expense without it being revealed until he was about to retire in 1995.

Alright so … I had originally ignored the story when I first read about it.  Big deal. Another political sex scandal. Yawn.  However, something else caught my intrepid eye as I was reading about it. ( oh alright. Not intrepid at all actually) I only continued reading cos I thought the other woman, actress Julie Gayet, was very pretty.  So naturally I had to read on.  But even then, I wasn’t going to post anything.
Until that is, I came across a mention of shoes.  Shoes? What’s that got to do with anything?  Well, the magazine has admitted that they weren’t actually able to ID the gentleman they saw 100%, but they noticed the shoes the caller was wearing and so were able to deduce that indeed, the guy entering Miss Gayet’s bldg, was in fact, the president of France.  Francois Hollande. 

It also claimed that a second man seen arriving and leaving with the visitor was an Elysee security officer. The second man is seen arriving in the morning with what Closer claims is a “bag of croissants”.

Someone posted this comment of interest from France.

The irony of it all is that it now looks like the Parti Socialiste ditched DSK for DSK 2. It really is astonishing that he couldn’t keep it in his trousers for 5 years. And what of Valérie Trierweiler? What precisely is her status now? How can she justify being accommodated at the taxpayer’s expense? Although widely loathed here in France, the French were just about ready to accept her as the President’s companion but if she’s now been bumped down to number 2 then her situation is untenable. Unless of course, the French are now being expected to accept a president who practices polygamy. Hollande has really messed up this time. He’s failed to realize that France has changed. This is going to be a thorn in his side for the rest of his presidency.

Judicial sources said Gayet, a blonde 40-year-old who appeared in one of Mr Hollande’s 2012 election commercials, had filed a complaint relating to an alleged breach of her right to a private life with Paris prosecutors on March 18.

The move came after she was reported or implied by various bloggers and websites to have become close to the Socialist president.

Mr Hollande, 58, lives with his girlfriend Valerie Trierweiler, a glamorous journalist for whom he left fellow Socialist politician Segolene Royal, the mother of his four children.

In a statement, Gayet’s lawyer Vincent Toledano said there was no basis to the rumours.

“The actress Julie Gayet has instructed my chambers to take legal action over the rumour, widely disseminated on the Internet, suggesting, with no foundation, that she has a romantic relationship with the president of the republic,” the statement said.

“She expects her right to a private family life to be respected as there is nothing to justify these claims.”

Gayet is an established television and cinema character actress who has appeared in more than 50 films. She is the mother of two children.

In the campaign video she filmed for Mr Hollande, she described the then-candidate as “marvellous” but also “humble and a really good listener.”

It was a performance that appears to have been sufficiently convincing to persuade some viewers her praise was based on more than admiration for Mr Hollande’s policies.

We’ve had a couple of cases like that here in the last year.  Guys dragged out of their house at any hour, usually very early, no chance to face accuser etc. And the process can go on for months and as long as a year.

Just plain scary.

Here was the headline and as I say, just a paragraph and a small one at that.

See that word “Suspect” above?  Suspect.  They suspect. Suspect. Are they absolutely certain?

I have zero sympathy for any criminal or sex abuser or child molester.  I think most people are that way also. Most of us do not think the penalties are harsh enough and don’t discourage the bad guys in any way.

The paragraph I read explains;

Under new rules announced by the home office , police are to be given the power to restrict the freedom of any individual they ‘suspect’ of being a sex offender.  Even if they have never been convicted of a crime.  This can include limiting internet use and stopping travel abroad.

OK .... Take a look at this. Nice?  She’s 18 and has a complaint about airport security.

Now I could be wrong on this one but, seems to me she has the body for modeling and just isn’t telling us everything or else some of what she says is exaggerated.  Or, what better way to get noticed.

Getting ready to jet off to Mallorca, Alix Townsend picked what she thought was the perfect outfit for a holiday in the sun.

Unfortunately, her short denim shorts did not pass muster with airport staff.

The 18-year-old says she was horrified to be told by a Monarch Airlines supervisor to take off her high-cut shorts in front of hundreds of passengers before checking in.

white girls used as story continues, defendants duke it out in court.

Some months ago I posted a story about several Asian gangs targeting young white girls.  By Asian we’re talking Pakistan and that area of the world. Not China or Japan.  Indians are also referred to as Asian here. I do believe. Well anyway, I saw this a few days ago and thought it was familiar.  After all, they all mostly look the same anyway.  But LyndonB today points out this crowd is yet another one. A different gang in operating in a different part. 

As Lyndon puts it: 

This group of beasts is mostly Paki and Bangladeshi with a couple of token north African mullahs. Seems like the press are suppressing any criticism of them.

The girls targeted are young and troubled and easy marks for these guys.  One of the things I find hard to accept and something so very different from days gone by, is how easily these days white girls will accept the attention of men who are outside by miles, their own color and culture. Men who are also very much a sub species.  Not satisfied with seduction and more often rape, these vermin took pleasure in torture as well.  No surprise of course. We expect that as natural from them.  NOT because they’re muslims and some may not be. This time it has little or nothing to do with their religion. If they have one.
It has to do with the places they originate from and the culture they belong to.

Yeah, miserable men who are criminals anyway and regardless of religions or races or places of origin, do rotten things. It’s their nature.
But generally speaking, I think we expect it more from this group of unwashed lice in human form.

This people, is what England has to deal with.  At least one of the girls was 11 years old.

Child sex gang guilty of grooming and gang-raping vulnerable girls

Seven members of a child sex ring have been found guilty of forcing under age girls to commit acts of “extreme depravity”.

The scum on the bottom left was especially into torture. Not that the others had any problem with it.

Their victims, aged between 11 and 15, were groomed and plied with alcohol and hard drugs before being sexually assaulted and forced into prostitution. Girls who were seen as “out of control” youngsters were deliberately targeted.

Abuse sessions would go on for days and involve the use of knives, meat cleavers and baseball bats. One was even forced to undergo an illegal abortion at a backstreet clinic when she fell pregnant by one of her tormentors.

Two sets of brothers, Akhtar Dogar, 32, and Anjum Dogar, 31, and Mohammed Karrar, 38, and Bassam Karrar, 33, were convicted along with Kamar Jamil, 27, Assad Hussain, 32, and Zeeshan Ahmed, 27.

Fighting broke out in the dock at the Old Bailey after two other defendants - Mohammed Hussain and a man who cannot be named for legal reasons - were cleared.

The seven men found guilty of offences against the six girls were remanded in custody for sentencing next month.

Zeeshan Ahmed struck out at Mohammed Hussain after Hussain was cleared. He struggled as dock officers lifted him up and out of court.

Police missed several chances to catch gang members before they were finally arrested.

One was still so frightened of her attacker that she refused to give evidence for fear he would hurt her again.

She had been raped and prostituted at 11 by a man who bought her little gifts and showed her the first affection she had known.

Another victim, Girl A, complained of her plight to police on two occasions but no one was charged.

A care home manager refused to pay her taxi fare when she returned after absconding. The then 14-year-old was driven back to Oxford to be raped.

The carer was later sacked and the privately-run home where girls were placed by Oxford County Council was closed down.

The girls had been put into care because their behaviour was out of control and for their own protection.

The newspapers can not seem to agree on the numbers involved. In fact, the Mail quotes two sets of numbers. No matter. They were targeted and abused for the usual reasons and uses but with the added twist that they were also targeted due to their color. White.

So far, London and other parts of the country are operating normally.  No reports of any far right wing or any white folks out there burning cities or attacking police.  There doesn’t seem to be any rioting in the streets.  Whew. Good thing those girls were white.

Catastrophic failings by police and social services allowed a child sex ring to sexually torture girls as young as 11 for eight years.

Victims repeatedly told officers they had been raped or abused by the vicious and ‘medieval’ predators – but no action was taken.

Last night – after the abusers were convicted at the Old Bailey – the police and social services apologised for failing to answer the girls’ desperate pleas for help.

But Sara Thornton, chief constable of Thames Valley Police since 2007, refused to acknowledge calls for her to resign this morning.

The gang groomed more than 50 vulnerable youngsters before selling them for sex around the country.

Nine out of ten social workers in Oxford knew that girls were being groomed by Asian men, a school support worker told the court. Five girls were abused while in the care of county council social services.

Their offences included 23 rapes, 15 rape conspiracy charges, nine charges of arranging child prostitution, five of internal trafficking for sexual exploitation and four of sexual activity with a child.

Most of the eight-year campaign of abuse took place after Sara Thornton was made chief constable of Thames Valley Police.

Today she appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and apologised for her force taking so long to bring the perpetrators to justice.

But twice she refused to acknowledge calls for her to resign in the wake of the scandal, saying only that she needed to ‘drive improvements into the future’.

When asked by presenter John Humphrys if she would offer her resignation, Miss Thornton said: ‘I accept responsibility and as I’ve said I’m very sorry it took so long, but the focus has got to be moving forward.  I think the focus for me is on driving improvements in the future.

The case is the latest involving men of predominantly Asian origin picking up underage white girls for sex.

I kid you not!

You find the strangest stuff on Linkiest.com. This one is hilarious! The article title is Deep Inside The Biggest Little Dildo Factory In America. The pull-quote:

Guess they have to be made somewhere. I never really thought about it before. Can you imagine working there and somebody asks you ‘What do you do for a living?’ Imagine putting that on your résumé? Guess you could always lie…

Diana has been at Doc Johnson for 30 years. “When I first started working here, I lied to my family and said I got a job in a plastics factory.”

Not exactly a lie. It is a plastics factory! She just kept the product secret. Then there’s this guy:

A Belated April Fool’s?

I’ve had fun in the past on a couple other blogs with the monthly magazine released by the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. In their infinite wisdom, they named their publication

the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

and refer to it by the acronym. In short (ahem), it’s PNAS magazine.

And I’ve noted lately in another blog, how filling up the hungry maw of the ever hungry 24/7 News Cycle often leads to news stories that seem to be nothing more than the blatantly obvious ... which is wryly amusing ... but sometimes things seem to go a bit too far.

Like this one. A big long one in this month’s PNAS magazine, on big penises. Hey, it’s science! Show respect!

Penis size interacts with body shape and height to influence male attractiveness

Abstract

Compelling evidence from many animal taxa indicates that male genitalia are often under postcopulatory sexual selection for characteristics that increase a male’s relative fertilization success. There could, however, also be direct precopulatory female mate choice based on male genital traits. Before clothing, the nonretractable human penis would have been conspicuous to potential mates. This observation has generated suggestions that human penis size partly evolved because of female choice. Here we show, based upon female assessment of digitally projected life-size, computer-generated images, that penis size interacts with body shape and height to determine male sexual attractiveness. Positive linear selection was detected for penis size, but the marginal increase in attractiveness eventually declined with greater penis size (i.e., quadratic selection). Penis size had a stronger effect on attractiveness in taller men than in shorter men. There was a similar increase in the positive effect of penis size on attractiveness with a more masculine body shape (i.e., greater shoulder-to-hip ratio). Surprisingly, larger penis size and greater height had almost equivalent positive effects on male attractiveness. Our results support the hypothesis that female mate choice could have driven the evolution of larger penises in humans. More broadly, our results show that precopulatory sexual selection can play a role in the evolution of genital traits.

It took a team of four scientists to do the research. Amazingly, it was not the team of Wang, Peters, Johnson, and John Thomas, but the team of Wong, Peters, Mautz, and Jennions. Translating the above abstract of their research from Scientese to English, with the aid of an analytical third-party peer review article that goes to reasonable, but not painful, length to understand the thrust of their reasoning ... and we get the earth shattering news that Chicks Big On Dicks, and the 24/7 news cycle is once again satisfied. But never satiated.

Science proves women like men with bigger penises

The human male possesses the Italian designer faucet of penises. They’re pretty big, the biggest of any primate’s relative to body size. And they’re showy, too, right out there, front and center on our upright bodies (i.e., they don’t retract), as if they were meant to be seen as part of the décor. Why?

A study released today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) offers an explanation: Women are attracted to penises, and the bigger the better.

“Penis size does affect attractiveness,” lead author Brian Mautz, a University of Ottawa post-doctoral researcher said in an NBCNews.com interview.

Past research has seemed to indicate that women, as a group, are drawn to larger male members. But those results have been disputed as sexist, or scientifically flawed, or both.

So Mautz and his team, working at the Australian National University, designed an experiment in hopes of settling the controversy. They created 49 unique, computer-generated, nude, life-sized male figures. Each figure varied in three traits: height, shoulder-hip ratio and flaccid penis size.

The researchers then displayed all the figures to 105 Australian women with an average age of 26. The women, who were not told which traits varied, were asked to rate the attractiveness of the figures as sexual partners on a scale of 1-7. The women were alone in the room and their responses were anonymous.

As past studies have shown, women prefer tall men with broad shoulders and narrow hips, like an Olympic swimmer. But when Mautz controlled for those variables, it turned out that penis size (overall length and girth) was about as important as stature.

“As you increase penis size, the amount of attractiveness scores gets bigger” in a linear fashion, he explained, until 7.6 centimeters, or 3 inches. After three inches, attractiveness still increased, but in smaller increments.

Not only were the ratings higher, but the women also spent more time gazing at the generously endowed figures, a sign they preferred looking at them as opposed to figures with smaller penises.

Women with a greater body mass index held stronger preferences for big penises. And size was most critical in tall men, perhaps, Mautz speculated, because “a taller guy must have a disproportionately larger penis to sort of make it clear” he’s endowed.

So there you have it. You would assume that such a study would also point out the statistically most popular male height given that they already knew the most popular male body shape. A little cock-up perhaps, or else the researchers just wanted to stay true to the thesis in hand.

Or as Mautz puts it in his paper, “Our results support the hypothesis that female mate choice could have driven the evolution of larger penises in humans.”

Of course, this is the 21st century. Most men wear pants – or at the very least, kilts. Mautz was quick to soothe men by saying that his study did not include other proven mate choice factors like money, intelligence, hair or whether a guy drives a 1997 Chevy Astro.
