Another Double Standard
A Glendale man accused of slaying his daughter in an “honor killing” will not face the death penalty.
After sparring with the suspect’s defense attorney over its death penalty review process, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has said it will not seek death for Faleh Almaleki, 49.
The Iraqi immigrant is accused of slaying his daughter, 20-year-old Noor Almaleki, for being “too Westernized.”
Police say he used his Jeep Cherokee to run down his daughter and another woman in a Peoria parking lot Oct. 20. Noor Almaleki later died of her injuries.
Almaleki is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and two counts of leaving the scene of a serious accident. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Really? Not guilty? Cuz I could have sworn he admitted to the whole thing. Yup, he did:
Prosecutors said Almaleki has admitted killing his daughter because she disgraced the family by not following traditional Iraqi or Muslim values.
But why no death penalty? (and why rule it out before the trial even begins?) Because ...
The decision not to seek the death penalty comes after Almaleki’s attorney, Billy Little, a public defender, asked a judge to take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim.
So it’s fine for this guy to kill his daughter in cold blood, planned out ahead of time (and cripple her friend as well) because she “wasn’t muslim enough”. Sharia law, and he gets to be judge, jury, and exectutioner. But to punish this guy according to our laws, using a punishment frequently found in Sharia, albeit for different offenses, is wrong, because that might smack of religious extremism. What a load of crap.
Special kid-gloves treatment. Fuckin dhimmi on the bench. Fire the judge for even allowing such an argument to be made. Then disbar the lawyer. This is a hideous precedent.
What’s next? “You can’t prosecute my client because he’s black. That would be raaaaaacist!!”? Horse turds. Hang the bastard because he killed his own child on purpose. Don’t care why, don’t care how, don’t care what his color or nationality or religious affiliation or sexual orientation is. He planned the crime with the intent to kill her, then did it. Murder in the first degree. Maybe it began with religion, but end it in hemp. “one small drop for a man, one great leap for law and order”
Naturally, Pamela was all over this story a couple days ago.
We are so doomed.

Our Allies, The Turks
Turkish girl, 16, buried alive for talking to boys
Turkish police have recovered the body of a 16-year-old girl they say was buried alive by relatives in an “honour” killing carried out as punishment for talking to boys.
The girl, who has been identified only by the initials MM, was found in a sitting position with her hands tied, in a two-metre hole dug under a chicken pen outside her home in Kahta, in the south-eastern province of Adiyaman.
Police made the discovery in December after a tip-off from an informant, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported on its website.
The girl had previously been reported missing.
The informant told the police she had been killed following a family “council” meeting.
A subsequent postmortem examination revealed that M.M. had a significant amount of soil in her lungs and stomach, indicating that she was buried alive and conscious, forensic experts told the news agency. “The autopsy result is blood-curdling. According to our findings, the girl – who had no bruises on her body and no sign of narcotics or poison in her blood – was alive and fully conscious when she was buried,” one anonymous expert said.
How’s that for a Zero Tolerance Policy? To hell with being a tramp, merely talking to a boy gets you horribly killed. Hey, where’s the statement of outrage from NOW? [crickets chirping]
Publicly drown the entire family in boiling pig diarrhea and then impale the entire village on giant bacon wrapped skewers as a lesson to others. ISLAM DELENDA EST.
h/t to Atlas
minor update: comments at the second news site say this may be an act done by Kurds. So what? They’re still in Turkey, therefore Turkish. And most Kurds are muslimes, whether Shafii Sunnis or Alevi Shia. Name your favorite flavor, but still islam delenda est.

Holland … a place where your observations about a particular religion lands you in court.
Personally, I think Wilders is a hero. His mistake, if you want to call it that, was to be openly critical of the ROP.
This is the man who for a time was denied entry to Britain because of his outspoken views. Everyone and including the Dutch apparently, tip toe around muzzies and their religion like they’re walking on eggshells. I guess they are. But there is a solution to this insidious problem.
This is a VERY long article found at European News, and so I’ve cut it and the whole thing is at the link below.
The Wilders trial: Torquemada would be proud
International Free Press Society
By Arthur LeggerAny one who still claims that the trial against Geert Wilders MP, leader of the Party for Freedom (9 seats in Parliament and 27 in the polls), which starts on the 20th of January, is not a political process: get a grip.
Accused by the Dutch ‘Openbaar Ministerie’ exactly a year ago for insulting Islam, comparing the Koran to Mein Kampf and delivering hate speeches, the coming trial against Wilders suddenly got a Kafkaesque and potentially murderous twist. Finally, seven days before his first day in Court, all fangs were out and faces off.
“It is irrelevant whether Wilder’s witnesses might prove Wilders’ observations to be correct”, the ‘Openbaar Ministerie’ stated, “what’s relevant is that his observations are illegal”.
(So it’s come to that has it? The freedom loving Dutch govt. can now prosecute (and persecute) a person for their “observations.")
Unexpected and breaching court procedures the detailed indictment of 21 pages, which Wilders received on the 4th of December and sums up in verbatim all of his Islam and Koran critique in interviews and Fitna, was amended with new accusations of racism against muslims and Moroccans. On top of this, Paul Vellerman, the public prosecutor of the Amsterdam Court decided that the Wilders trial had to be regarded as “an ordinary trial open for public and with a normal procedure, which doesn’t deserve the Department of Justice’s highly secured bunker. His is a normal case and we’ll treat it as such”.
It’s sad to note that Mohammed Bouyeri, the murderer of Theo van Gogh, and Volkert van der Gaag, the assassin of Pim Fortuyn, were tried in this specially designed bunker, but that Wilders has to rely on his personal bodyguards and full metal jacket to ward of terrorists. No safe room for him, which recently secured Kurt Westergaard and his granddaughter, but for months on end the vulnerability of a sitting duck.
The demonized FortuynTo a connoisseur of the classic art of Dutch political murder, revived in 2002 with the assassination of the deliberatedly unprotected and demonized Pim Fortuyn, this twist of fate comes, however, as no surprise. The ‘Openbaar Ministerie’ had to do something. Presented with much aplomb in January, already on the 10th of March it turned out that the case against Wilders had one crucial weak spot: it might not hold in Court.
For in a comparable case the Dutch High Court acquitted a Dutchman of his earlier conviction of ‘Group-insult’ of Muslims. He had been sentenced to jail for hanging a poster in front of his window that stated: “Stop the cancerous growth named Islam”. The High Court ruled that “if one insults a religion, one doesn’t automatically insult its believers”.
Gerard Spong, one of the lawyers who lodged complaints against Wilders, was quick to stress, however, that the case against an MP was far more complex than a poster: “Wilders is certainly not off the hook”. But to most professors in Law the High Court ruling proved that Wilders would win with his hands down. Ybo Buruma, a highly influential professor in Criminal Law at Nijmegen University concluded on the 11th of January 2010 that “the prosecution of Geert Wilders is a very nice exercise, but is utterly pointless for it will not lead to a conviction”.
Traditionally with such a High Court ruling and severe scholarly critique the ‘Openbaar Ministerie’ wouldn’t fail to reconsider and dismiss charges. But already a year ago the Wall Street Journal had immediately grasped that “Muslim-immigration [was] eroding traditional Dutch liberties”, forcing Dutch Law into a radically new course of censorship. Observing that Wilders’ critique of Islam outraged muslims around the globe, the Journal chided: “If freedom of speech means anything, it means the freedom of controversial speech. Consensus views need no protection”.
The Wall Street Journal must have been either clairvoyant or hysterically well informed: Paul Vellerman, Amsterdam’s Court public prosecutor, and Birgit van Roessel, the Court’s second public prosecutor, who’re both heading the trial against Wilders, also both are working for the National Expertise Centre Discrimination. This Centre is the leading organization of the ‘Openbaar Ministerie’ to track down “crimes of expression and speech”. The Centre was responsible for lodging complaints against cartoonist Gregorius Nekschot.

Obama Does Something Right

Myth Of The Anti-Muslim Backlash
By PAUL SPERRY, Investors Business Daily
The Council on American-Islamic Relations warns that making an issue of Islamic terror incites “hate crimes” against innocent Muslims, but federal data disprove that. And commendably, the Obama administration is ignoring the Islamist pressure group’s latest bluff.
The White House has added top CAIR donor Saudi Arabia to a list of 14 mostly Muslim nations whose travelers will undergo extra airport-security screening in the wake of the Christmas Day airliner attack by a Muslim passenger. CAIR slammed the new policy as “across-the-board profiling” and griped “Muslims will pay the price for this one.”
That’s standard post-Islamic-terror bluster by CAIR, which remains under a cloud of terror suspicion itself following its 2007 federal designation as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror finance case in U.S. history. The group is quick to argue that increased security only serves to demonize innocent Muslims and put a bull’s-eye on their backs.
But it’s a red herring, and one that can have the dangerous effect — designed or not — of taking authorities off the scent of radical Muslims.
Not only are anti-Islamic hate crimes way down, but they’re a fraction of overall religious hate crimes. FBI data show the overwhelming majority of such crimes target Jews, something CAIR and other Muslim groups don’t seem all that concerned about.
In 2008, a whopping 67% of religiously motivated attacks were against Jews, while just 7% targeted Muslims — even though the Jewish and Muslim populations are comparable in size. Even Christians, at 9%, account for a higher share of victims.
What’s more, anti-Islamic hate crimes are actually declining. In the most recent year, they totaled 105. While just one anti-Muslim hate crime is one too many, that’s a 9% decrease from 2007, a 33% drop from 2006, and a 78% plunge from 2001.
And again, the number is minuscule compared with the 1,013 offenses against Jews, up 5% from 2007. For every attack on a Muslim in this country, there are 10 against a Jew — attacks such as the recent fatal stabbing of a Jewish professor by a Muslim graduate student at New York’s Binghamton University.

weekend crap
Oy vey. Not only does “It Never Ends”, it only gets worse. It doesn’t ever even slow down.
- Next time, just shoot them:
Judge tosses out most evidence on Gitmo detainee
WASHINGTON – A federal judge has tossed out most of the government’s evidence against a terrorism detainee on grounds his confessions were coerced, allegedly by U.S. forces, before he became a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay.
In a ruling this week, U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan also said the government failed to establish that 23 statements the detainee made to interrogators at Guantanamo Bay were untainted by the earlier coerced statements made while he was held under harsh conditions in Afghanistan.
However, the judge said statements he made during two military administrative hearings at the U.S. detention center in Cuba, where he was assisted by a personal representative, were reliable and sufficient to justify holding the detainee.
Or just call them POWs and put them in a camp somewhere.

Fourth Church Hit by Firebombs Over ‘Allah’ Ban
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A fourth church in Malaysia was hit by firebombs Saturday, stoking concern among Christians as a dispute rages over the use of the word “Allah” by non-Muslims.
The latest incident occurred after three other churches were firebombed Friday, just days after a Kuala Lumpur court ruled non-Muslims to use the word “Allah” to refer to God in their literature.
...
The Dec. 31 court decision incensed many Muslims, who see it as a threat to their religion. Hateful comments and threats against Christians have been posted widely on the Internet, but this is the first time the controversy has turned destructive.
...
the government contends that making Allah synonymous with God may confuse Muslims and ultimately mislead to them into converting to Christianity, a punishable offense in Malaysia despite a constitution that guarantees freedom of religion.Ok, this is a bit of piss-poor writing, because they left out the all important verb. “court ruled non-Muslims to use the word “ means what? They can, or they can’t? 17 paragraphs into the article, we finally read “The Allah ban is unusual in the Muslim world.” which lets us know that the ruling says that sane people (non-moose_slimes) can’t use the name. I think? So it’s a really stupid decision. And it’s even more stupid that the moosies are so wound up that they’re fire bombing Christian churches. Dudes, if the Catholics are calling God “Allah” in their own churches, you’ve pretty much won already.
But I’m wrong! I had it backwards! Looking elsewhere, I find out that the real court decision actually allowed a Catholic newspaper, The Herald, to use “Allah” in one of their articles. The Malaysian government had argued against that. So the courts decided that it was Ok ... but a couple days later, after the mob violence, they chickened out and rescinded their ruling. So I guess it’s no longer Ok, and the label “Allah” is back to being a special sacrosanct word that only the insiders can legally use. What a pile of crap, eh?
KUALA LUMPUR — A Malaysian court suspended a ruling on Wednesday that allowed a Catholic newspaper to use the word “Allah”, after the government argued the decision could cause racial conflict.
Malaysia’s high court ruled last week that the Herald weekly had the right to use the word “Allah” after a long-running dispute with the government in the Muslim-majority nation. The paper has been using the word as a translation for “God” in its Malay-language section, but the government argued it should be used only by Muslims. Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail welcomed the high court’s decision to issue a stay order pending an appeal on the ruling in favour of the church, which triggered a series of protests from Muslim groups.
“I made the request for a stay as it is a matter of national interest,” Abdul Gani said at the court. “We do not want the matter delayed and cause all kinds of tensions in the country” he told reporters. “I believe the Court of Appeal will hear the case very soon.”
The Herald’s editor Father Lawrence Andrew warned of a campaign of intimidation including hacker attacks against the weekly’s website, protest threats and widespread criticism in the media over last week’s ruling.
All the more reason to move the hell out of any country with anything close to a muslim majority. These people are nuts.
- Projection much? You knew this was going to happen!
Anti-Whaling Group Files Piracy Complaint Against Japanese WhalersSYDNEY — A conservationist group that lost one of its ships in a clash with Japanese whalers off Antarctica has filed a piracy complaint in the Netherlands against the captain and crew of the whaling vessel, one of the group’s leaders said Saturday.
The filing comes after the bow of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s Ady Gil was sheared off in a collision Wednesday with the far larger Japanese ship — the most serious clash in what has become an annual confrontation off the frozen continent. A Sea Shepherd volunteer suffered cracked ribs.
The whaler, Shonan Maru No. 2, suffered no apparent damage. Both sides blame the other for the crash, which occurred as the Ady Gil harassed the Japanese fleet.
Man oh man, where is that damn Reset Button?

Forgive Us Our Trespasses
"Forgive Us Our Trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us” is a concept entirely alien to pisslam. Revenge, always, even if it takes years! Centuries! Keep the hate alive!
Barbarians.
COPENHAGEN – Danish authorities say a Somali man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder for an attack on an artist whose cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad ignited riots and outrage across the Muslim world.
Jakob Scharf, head of Denmark’s intelligence agency, said the 28-year-old Somali man with ties to al-Qaida broke into Kurt Westergaard’s home in Aarhus on Friday night. The 75-year-old artist pressed an alarm and fled with his 5-year-old granddaughter to a special safe room.
Police say they then shot the attacker in the hand and knee when he threatened them.
The suspect was charged at a court hearing Saturday in Aarhus.
Westergaard has received several death threats for depicting the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb-shaped turban.
What, this one?

Some news from my home state. Grumble. Yeah. California. Hey, be nice.
Right I know. Land of fruits and nuts.
And muslims too.
H/T LyndonB
I’m sorry nobody with a gun was there to shoot the bastard graveyard dead. Easy peasy. Just claim the fear of a bomb or a weapon. What jury would convict?
But no. He’ll get an interpreter at public expense of course. Then a trial although I will never understand why anyone should be entitled to one of those in circumstances like this one. He was there. There are witnesses. He did what he did. What’s left to discover? A bullet would have been cheaper.
We really do desperately NEED Vigilante Justice! It worked beautifully in 1849 in that state. It can work again. It just needs a chance.
Man arrested for ‘anti-Christian mall disturbance’ to appear in court again Thursday Deputy DA keeps bail at $27K, orders Hasim to stay away from Stoneridge Shopping Center
by Emily West
Pleasanton Weekly Staff
Deputy District Attorney Ronda Theisen requested the bail for Abdul Walid Hamid stay at $27,000 as the 22-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of battery, grand theft, exhibition of a deadly weapon and a possible hate crime.Police arrested 22-year-old Hamid of Hayward Wednesday evening after he reportedly robbed a man and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.
Calling it a bizarre case, Theisen also asked that Hamid, who is still in custody, be ordered to stay out of the mall if he does post bail and leaves jail.
Through an interpreter, Hamid requested a public defender and was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Thursday where he is expected to enter a plea.
According to reports, Hamid was yelling “Allah is power” and “Islam is great” while holding a pen in a fist over his head and witnesses said he had been shouting anti-Christian comments.
Pleaanton Police Lt. Mike Elerick said the man was not provoked and didn’t threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off a man’s neck.
Police said they weren’t aware of a prior criminal history for the man.
“We had multiple people calling 911,” Elerick said. “One female was crouching down and hiding from him. He definitely scared quite a few people.”

Ruh Roh Shaggy!
Saudi Arabia has launched a large military incursion across the border into northern Yemen, using fighter jets and artillery bombardments to try to end a Shiite rebellion inside its troubled southern neighbor, Arab diplomats and the rebels said Thursday.
The northern rebels, known as Hawthis, have been battling Yemeni government forces intensively over the past few months in the latest flare-up of a sporadic conflict that has lasted five years. The Hawthis are based in northern Saada province, which borders Saudi Arabia.
“Saudi jets dropped bombs on a crowded areas including local market in the northern province of Saada,” Hawthi spokesman Mohammed Abdel-Salam told The Associated Press. “They (Saudis) claim they are targeting al-Hawthis, but regrettably they are killing civilians like the government does,” he added.
“The attacks were followed by hundreds of shells from the border,” Abdel-Salam said.
There was no immediate word on casualties.
Two Arab diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AP Saudi Tornado and F-15 warplanes have been bombarding targets inside Yemen since Wednesday afternoon, inflicting significant casualties on the rebels. The diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to talks to the media.
They said army units and special forces have been sent to northern Yemen, and that several Saudi towns on the border have been evacuated.
Neither Saudi Arabia nor their Yemeni government allies have confirmed the offensive. But if they do, this would be the first known Saudi incursion across the border in the five years of fighting the rebels.
Saudi Arabia, the world’s leading oil exporter, has been increasingly worried about extremism and instability in Yemen that could spill across the border. The Yemeni government is currently fighting on multiple fronts — the northern rebels and a separatist movement in the south. But the most worrisome is a lingering threat from al-Qaida militants.
The U.S. also fears the Yemeni fighting could spill over into Saudi Arabia. It concerned that Yemen, with its weak central government, could become a haven for al-Qaida militants hiding out in the impoverished nation on the tip of the Arabian peninsula.
“could become”? WTF? Yemen is where the bombers of the USS Cole came from. And when they were captured and jailed, they somehow mysteriously managed to escape. I don’t put much faith in the “could become” line.
But what are these “rebels” rebelling about? How could they not like living as simple muslims, religion of peace and all that, with the foaming at the mouth Wahhabi Saudis to the north and the nearly as crazy Sunnis to the south?
The Shiite rebels complain their needs are ignored by a government that is increasingly allied with hard-line Sunni fundamentalists, who consider Shiites as heretics.
So maybe Our Friends the Saudis are helping their neighbors do Allah’s Work, stamping out the infidels heretics. I wonder which is worse: not being a muslim or being a muslim of the wrong flavor?
Expect this action to cause the price of oil to jump. Seems like nearly everything that goes on over in sandland does.
Update: It’s muslim vs muslim in this exciting Pay Per View deathcage match up! And events inside Yemen - which haven’t been in the news AT ALL - are being described as an ongoing civil war. WTH?
Yemen civil war spills over border as Saudi official is killed in attack
Yemen’s civil war spilled into neighbouring Saudi Arabia for the first time yesterday when Shia gunmen shot dead a Saudi security officer in a cross-border attack. The Shia rebels, known as Huthis, have been backed up against the Saudi border by a Yemeni army offensive launched this summer. The rebels accuse the Saudis of allowing Yemeni troops to attack them from behind, using a military base in the Saudi town of Jebel al-Dukan. The kingdom’s news agency said that rebels had entered Saudi territory and attacked patrols.
“The infiltrators used various weapons to fire at the border guard patrols, causing the martyrdom of one security officer and wounding 11 others,” it said. Some Shia rebel sources claimed to have taken complete control of the town after defeating Saudi forces there.
They accuse Saudi Arabia, a conservative Sunni Muslim country, of backing the Yemeni army, fearing the emergence of a strong Shia militia similar to Hezbollah in Lebanon. In turn, the Yemeni Government in Sanaa has accused Iran, a Shia theocracy, of supporting the Huthi rebels as part of a campaign to spread Tehran’s influence across the region. The Government said last week that Yemeni troops had seized five Iranians on a boat loaded with arms in the Red Sea.
Yemen has denied receiving any support from Riyadh, but the tensions emphasised the increasingly fragile situation on the borders of the world’s biggest oil exporter. There are increasing signs that al-Qaeda — whose founder, Osama bin Laden, is of Yemeni origin — is using the strife in the country as a means of establishing a dangerous presence close to Saudi Arabia, where it has launched deadly attacks in the past.
Sanaa stepped up its efforts to crush the Shia rebels in August when it launched a land and air offensive that aid groups say has driven 150,000 people from their homes, as well as killing and wounding hundreds.
Oh hella yeah, this is going to cause a spike in the oil market. $3.50 a gallon gas, here we come again.

Good news:
Muslim Arizona Man Arrested After Allegedly Running Down ‘Westernized’ Daughter
Police in a Phoenix suburb say they have arrested a father suspected of hitting his daughter with his car because she was becoming “too Westernized” and was not living according to their traditional Iraqi values.
Police in Peoria are releasing few details, but say 48-year-old Faleh Almaleki is in custody. Police aren’t saying where Almaleki was arrested or where he’s being held.
Police say Faleh Almaleki was upset that his daughter had become too “Westernized” when he aimed his car at his daughter Oct. 20 in a Peoria parking lot.
Bad news:
Staten Island NY woman tries to kill her husband
because he wasn’t muslim enough
A devout Muslim woman from Pakistan who wed a fellow countryman who did not share her faith tried to stab him to death as he slept in their Staten Island home because she claimed he forced her to drink alcohol, eat pork and dress provocatively, officials said today.
Rabia Sarwar, 37, climbed onto her husband Sheikh Naseem’s chest around 3 a.m. yesterday and repeatedly slashed at his neck as he slept, officials said, screaming, “It’s time for you to die!”
Naseem, a 41-year-old high school math teacher who goes by the name Eddie, said he woke up with the knife to his neck and as he wrestled with his wife – whom he wed five months ago in an arranged marriage — for the weapon.
He begged her to consider his two children from a previous marriage.
“She just screamed, ‘They are going to be orphans now!’” he said. “She kept on coming after me with the knife and I grabbed it and broke it into two pieces and ran out of the room.”
Naseem – who was born in Pakistan, but is half Norwegian and is a Unitarian – said he moved to the US more than 20 years ago and quickly adapted to American culture, taking to drinking casually and developing a taste for barbecued ribs.
He even twice married outside his culture.
But since both marriages failed, he decided to try marrying within his culture, and wed Sarwar five months ago through nuptials arranged by relatives in New Jersey. Although Sarwar has lived in the US for more than a decade, Naseem said “she had never been exposed to American culture.”
Naseem said he would immediately file for divorce but did not think she should be in jail.
“I think she’s a lunatic and she should be in a mental hospital,” he said. “I want the best for her in her life. I hope she gets herself corrected.”
Sorry you had to go through this, Eddie. But in a way it’s your own fault. You “decided to marry within your culture” ... but you made a big mistake: you are NOT part of that culture. You are an American now. A barbecue-eatin, typical Cristian-lite believin’, beer drinkin’, football watchin’, sexy woman appreciatin’ American. Heck, I bet he even owns a pickup truck. “You close the gate when you assimilate”. There is no going back.
Isn’t it really irritating that his wife has lived here for more than 10 years and has had NO EXPOSURE to American culture? That means she has been kept as a virtual prisoner in her parent’s home. No TV, no radio, no non-Pakistani friends. A slave to her culture. In this country. Eff that! And screw this arranged marriage crap too. That’s more “old country” garbage; leave it behind.

FBI Busts Jihadis

Three people were still on the loose Thursday after the FBI raid and deadly shooting of a radical Islam leader whose goal authorities say was to take down the U.S. government.
Luqman Ameen Abdullah, 53, was killed in a shootout with federal agents in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn as they tried to arrest him on a number of charges including conspiracy to sell stolen goods and the illegal possession and sale of firearms.
Abdullah repeatedly told followers that the U.S. government was their enemy and they should be willing to fight the FBI, even if it meant death, according to the criminal complaint against him.
“You cannot have a nonviolent revolution,” Luqman Ameen Abdullah said, according to a 2008 conversation secretly recorded by a confidential FBI source.
Abdullah was killed Wednesday at a warehouse in Dearborn, where agents were attempting to arrest him. FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said Abdullah refused to surrender, fired a weapon and was killed by gunfire from agents.
Neither Abdullah nor his co-defendants were charged with terrorism. But he was “advocating and encouraging his followers to commit violent acts against the United States,” FBI agent Gary Leone wrote in an affidavit filed with the complaint.
The FBI said Abdullah, also known as Christopher Thomas, was an imam, or prayer leader, of a radical group named Ummah whose primary mission is to establish an Islamic state within the U.S.
Abdullah told followers that it was their “duty to oppose the FBI and the government and it does not matter if they die” and to “simply shoot a cop in the head” if they wanted the officer’s bulletproof vest, Leon wrote.
The affidavit also said bombs, guns and even the recipe for TNT were among Abdullah’s regular topics with his allies. Group members and former members said they were “willing to do anything Abdullah instructs and/or preaches, even including criminal conduct and acts of violence,” the FBI agent wrote.
He and his followers were American born, mostly African-American converts to Islam.
And of course, CAIR sees this guy and his group as little innocent angels who help out the community. Nothing to see here, move along.
But that description doesn’t match what Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Michigan chapter, said he knew of Abdullah.
“He would open up the mosque to homeless people. He used to run a soup kitchen and feed indigent people,” Walid said. “I knew nothing of him that was related to any nefarious or criminal behavior.”
Right. Meanwhile, back to reality ...
Federal authorities in Detroit say they still are searching for three men charged with criminal activities as part of a radical U.S. Sunni Islam group, and one is considered armed and dangerous.
The raid took place after the feds released a 43 page indictment against them. Charges of theft, weapons possession, child abuse ... but no charges of terrorism. Funny that.
A federal indictment unsealed Wednesday in Detroit provides unprecedented detail into a world where, authorities say, a group of radical Sunni Muslims were urged to take over the U.S. government and establish Islamic law.
The complaint says that the imam or leader of the group, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, repeatedly used rhetoric that urged Muslims to seize power with violence and establish a society where Muslims would rule over non-Muslims.
“America must fall,” Abdullah said, according to the complaint. At another point, he “told followers that they need to be with the Taliban, Hizballah, and with Sheikh Bin Laden.”
...
In a two-year undercover investigation, federal agents reported that Abdullah’s followers were repeatedly told that criminal actions were OK if they were for the good of Islam.
Abdullah said that the Quran, the holy book for Muslims, “justified stealing, robbing and other illegal acts, as long as they profit Islam.”
Authorities said that Abdullah had had a criminal past and run-ins with the law, including a 1981 conviction for felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
Later on, after the raid, non-arrested mosque members needed to vent their rage at the “injustice” done to them ...
Several men congregated on the porch [of the “mosque” that was raided] Wednesday night and subsequently attacked a photographer from The Detroit News who was taking pictures from across the street. Ricardo Thomas had his camera equipment smashed and had a bloody lip from the attack.
Several pushed him, one threw a punch at him and his camera equipment valued at $10,000 was smashed.
Thomas was kicked while on the ground and suffered a cut lip. Police were called and Thomas drove himself to a hospital for treatment. He said “there was no reason” for the men to attack him.
“It’s a public street,” Thomas said. “I am a journalist doing my job, just like all the other journalists doing their jobs.”
Thomas was able to recover images of his attackers from the camera’s memory card.
Jonathan Wolman, editor and publisher of the News, said Thomas was on assignment at the mosque with one of the newspaper’s reporters and was making an eyewitness account of an important story.
Sadly, local comments say that an FBI dog was killed in the raid. That’s a shame.
Almost all the membership of this group, like the membership of other groups just like it, are comprised of felons. They convert while in jail. Most of them are blacks from the urban ghettos. Their national group is even run from within jail, by cop killer H. Rap Brown. H Rap Brown was a 60s radical, member of SNCC and Black Panthers, with ties to SDS (hey, Bill Ayers’ old pals!), and friend of former SNCC leader and future Washington DC Mayor Marion Barry. Put one and one together ... I can almost guarantee this bunch of jihadi jerkoffs is tied to the hydra of ACORN in some way.
Excellent news rant video here.
Meanwhile, the other mosque members, those not arrested or shot, have vowed revenge on the evil cops. Even though it was the FBI that conducted the raid, not the police.
Detroit police are on heightened alert after followers and family members of a slain mosque leader threatened to retaliate against officers, officials said today.
Officers in the 10th Precinct, which is housed at 12000 Livernois, are taking “extra precaution,” said police spokesman John Roach. He declined to elaborate, saying that divulging any tactical deployment efforts could compromise officers’ safety.
Roach said federal investigators informed police about the threats, which allegedly were made by followers and at least one family member of Luqman Ameen Abdullah, who was gunned down during a shootout with federal agents Wednesday.
Dang. Be a bunch of thugs, ratchet up the hate, conspire to violently overthrow the government, commit crimes to further your goals, then get mad when it all falls down on you, so vent your frustration on the press and da man. Why don’t they burn down their own homes and trash their own neighborhoods instead? That’s the usual course of “protest”, isn’t it? If these groups had 5 brain cells to rub together they’d be a major danger to society.

They keep pushing and pushing and pushing. When are some patriots here gonna push back?
Nah. Never mind. Don’t even try and answer that question.
For my American friends, the use of Asian doesn’t refer to what we in the states think of when using that term. Over here it refers to places like India and Pakistan.
I think we can safely assume (I’d bet) that they’re members in good standing of the ROP. A plague be upon them.
Once, just once is all I ask, that the cops open fire with machine guns and wipe out a large group like this. No great loss to the country and bullets a lot cheaper then dragging any off to jail. Less bother surely. Pick em up with a giant pooper scooper and toss em all in the sea.

200 Asian youths throw firecrackers at British police.
London, Aug 31 (IANS) Riot police made two arrests after 200 youngsters of South Asian origin threw firecrackers at police officers Sunday in an incident said to be linked to plans for a right-wing march through the town of Luton.
Communal tensions have risen in Luton - a town with a substantial population of Pakistani-origin people - ever since a small group of Muslims held an anti-war protest during a march by British soldiers returning from Iraq five months ago.The local Bedfordshire Police said 50 officers had been called in Sunday afternoon after a small team of constables and police volunteers had been attacked by about “200 members of the younger Asian community”.
Police said the incident was linked to plans by far-right groups to take out a march through the town Sunday, but also said the Asian protest was held “for no apparent reason” because the march had already been banned.
Marching plans were scotched after the British home minister last week imposed a three-month ban on public processions in Luton by four groups - March for England, UK Casuals United, United People of Luton and English Defence League.
Bedfordshire police said in a statement: “(Sunday’s) disorder follows weeks of engagement and public consultation by Bedfordshire Police and Luton Borough Council in response to tensions within the community after the town was identified as a potential location for a march by right-wing supporters.”
Chief Superintendent Andy Frost said: “There has been extensive public consultation and work behind the scenes to ensure Luton was not the chosen venue for any kind of march or protest but it would seem that for no apparent reason disorder has broken out in Bury Park.”
Police previously said residents and businesses feared a repeat of the violence and disorder, including damage to property and assaults on individuals, which erupted during previous processions by far-right groups in Britain.
HEY BTW ... MAY WE PLEASE NOTE THAT THOSE “RIGHT WING” GROUPS, NO MATTER WHAT YA THINK OF SOME OF THEM, WERE NOT THE FIRST TO TOSS STONES OR GET VIOLENT.

It must be Muslim Fashion Day
Here’s another article that ties in with Peiper’s post on the burkhini.
Look at this coin from the other side for once. What if you are a muslim woman, who wants to engage in sports activities? What if you are a woman of any kind who wants to do sports, but find yourself living in a muslim nation with their repressive dress codes?
Personally, I’d opt for starting a revolution.
But others are not so bold. Especially when their culture tends to beat the boldness out of them. So, for those women, a practical solution has to be found. But it isn’t easy. Here is one woman’s story…
By AZADEH MOAVENI
The first time I went jogging in Tehran, I nearly hyperventilated after four blocks, despite wearing the gauziest of head scarves and a decidedly immodest Nike capris. The fabric covering my ears and neck stoked my body temperature unbearably, and the pleasurable strain of running gave way to acute discomfort. “How am I going to stay fit here?” I wailed to my Iranian girlfriends, experts in the dilemma of balancing exercise with Islamic modesty codes. They offered me a rich store of advice, from head scarves with ear slits to calibrating outdoor exercise with the seasons to where to find women’s only gyms.
For the pious Muslim woman, one of the greatest challenges of modern life is how to get a health-conscious work-out. In Iran, of course, the state mandates Islamic dress, so secular and faithful women alike must contend with religious codes that interfere with exercise. But the problem persists for individual Muslim women throughout the Islamic world and the West. It grabbed headlines this week when a Paris swimming pool refused entry to a young Muslim woman wearing a “burqini,” a swim garment resembling a diving suit. In France the incident falls into a wider political debate over how to reconcile the country’s Muslim immigrants to French secular values. And while the number of Muslim women in France - indeed throughout the world - who insist on such a severe covering as the burqa is small, the challenge of staying slim and Islamically proper is not.
There is plenty more here. And while what she writes is practical, to me it is infuriating. It’s submission. It’s going along with forced segregation. It’s accepting the status of a second class citizen. It’s bullshit, in my opinion.
I’d say her best solution is multipart:
a) move to the United States
b) quit that suppressive “religion” and distance yourself from anyone and everyone who would use it to keep you “in line”
c) pack a .38 in your workout kit and go exercise anywhere you want wearing whatever you want. If harassed by any of those camel fuckers in b), above, then
d) shoot their balls off.

The Green Flag Drips Red, Again
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Police in northern Nigeria say they’re investigating how a homegrown Islamist sect unleashed a wave of violence that left more than 700 people dead in clashes last week.
Borno state police spokesman Isa Azaza says police are holding 20 men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect. He says some of the men were seized with gunpowder, vats of acid, aluminum containers for bomb-making, assault rifles and black-and-white flags with Arabic inscriptions.
Azaza said the group was well organized in its attacks on police stations and government installations.
The city of Maiduguri was calm Monday morning, with police conducting street patrols.
The radical group sparked the violence with a July 26 attack on a police station in Bauchi. Violence quickly spread to three other northern states.
Yeah right. “Homegrown radical group”. Watch how further investigation shows direct ties to Al Q, Iran, and North Korea, with some assistance by Russia. “Homegrown” my pinkie toe.
But don’t worry, it’s only Africans. Nobody gives a damn what they do, so let them keep right on killing each other, as usual. As always. Cuz that’s Africa, the primitive land. Dozens of nations, hundreds of tribes, but just one outlook.

Freedom and Equality in Sudan. NOT.
That’s so, so Seventh Century of them, don’t you think?
A Sudanese journalist could receive 40 lashings after she was caught wearing trousers.
A Sudanese court began hearing Lubna al-Hussein’s case Wednesday. It will continue the hearing August 4.
At the time of her arrest, she was wearing pants, a blouse and a hijab, she said. Police accused her of wearing trousers that were too tight and alleged that her blouse was too transparent, al-Hussein said.
The crime of wearing indecent attire has only one punishment under Sudanese law, a 40-stroke public flogging, according to the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information.
“This case is the official retaliation against the reporter for her writings criticizing the Sudanese regime and extremists,” the organization said in a statement.
Al-Hussein was arrested along with 18 others July 3 after Sudan’s “discipline police” accused the women of wearing indecent clothes, al-Hussein said. Six were released, and 10 received the 40 lashes, she said.
Al-Hussein and two others fought the charges and hired attorneys, she said.
Hijab, a head covering, are often quite large, sometimes covering the whole torso. I wonder how long the cops had to stare at her, or how closely they had to inspect things, to determine that her pants were too tight and her blouse too revealing?
CNN gets the story wrong again, too. It’s not that she was caught wearing pants. It’s that they were too tight. She’s going to be flogged for dressing sexy. Or at least what passes for it there. I’ve known Indonesian Muslim women who dress in loose pants, a big shapeless shirt, and an elbow length hijab. It’s accepted dress. Well, at least in Indonesia. Who can tell WTF women should be wearing in flyblown Sudan? If you can tell that they’re female, it’s probably a crime.
Fuckin muzzies. They’re the crime.
I had a big laugh at bowling last night. Some kid on the next lanes over was wearing those low rider pants with his baggy boxers sticking out. Every time he bowled they got a little lower. Halfway through the 2nd game they gave it up, and fell to his knees while he was making his approach. Face first, right onto the lanes. But at least we have the freedom to dress like idiots. Nothing like that in Sudan.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
