Knife Crime - Out Of Control In UK

While looking up a few links to respond to Peiper’s post, below, I found a news page that keeps track of Knife Crime in the UK and the US.

http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Current+Affairs/Crime/Knife+Crime

It’s pretty much constant. Not every entry is for a single event; what gets in here are links to stories about knifings. So the same stabbing may be linked by a number of news posts.

They have a similar page on gun crime.

But ... horry clap ... the way them savage English go at each other with the cutlery!

Over on the Gun Crime page, more of the stories are from the USA. And, as usual, the UK’s coverage of news over here is much more detailed than our own news people give us. I hate that, but I’m grateful to them for it.

Case in point: did you know there was a mass shooting today in New York? And it appears to be Rifle Violence, not just regular Gun Violence. Six people were shot, 4 died, at a car wash and in a barbershop in the little country town of Herkimer NY. Suspect drove away in a red Jeep, is still at large.

Compare how CNN covers the back-page story, here, with 1 picture and a mere 115 words, and doesn’t even mention the “long gun”, or the car wash, or the perhaps connected explosion and fire in a local building,

with how the UK Mirror does the job with 4 pictures and 251 words.

I guess the English have more time to read, since they’re all unemployed.

Newsnow seems like a decent aggregator site. Big news and small. Find out about the 38,010 cows put down in Great Britain, all with TB - tuberculosis!!! - and this is a 10% increase over last year. Sounds like they’re just as chock full of diseased livestock as China is! Maybe neither one should be turning up their noses at all that yummy horse meat.

Actually, they’ve got news from all over the world, all in little pages of links. No ads, no pics, no nonsense. I like it.

But I do cherish the marvelously cheeky Brit news stories like this one, speaking of horse meat
Post-horsemeat, Tesco’s to buy Giraffe in bold £50m deal

That’s a whole lot of neck bones!

out,out damn candle

There was an overlooked anniversary passed us by about two weeks ago.

Dateline 1863, England

A deputation from the Anti Slavery Society waited upon Mr. Adams, the American minister, handing him a copy of a resolution in which, while they depreciated the war in America, they held the Confederates responsible in their resolution to found a new state upon the system of slavery, and they hailed the president’s proclamation as the death blow of that principle.

(As if that unfortunate war of northern aggression was any of their damned business but then that’s liberals for ya.  Can’t solve problems in their own country but happy to advise in others.)

Anyway, the article continues.

Mr. Adams, in reply, declared the Confederates worse than supposed, for they wanted to overthrow the union, and it was only when foiled that they had recourse to succession.

Mr. Adams was a damn liar and the tooth fairy no doubt passed him by which didn’t help his disposition any.

Here’s another interesting but unrelated tidbit. This time from Australia.

A BAN ON BIRTHDAY CAKE CANDLES?

Looks that way.

Kids are being instructed NOT to blow out candles on birthday cakes together – because they could pass on germs.
Well, yeah. I guess they could.  Maybe there’s a lot more them floating about these days as opposed to my days long ago.
Anyway, parents are being told to either provide a separate cupcake, with a candle on it, for the birthday child, or else enough cupcakes should be provided for other children.
Parents are angered at what they regard as an enlarging nanny state, and so far have told the folks advising this latest safe at all costs to get stuffed.

Must Be From Global Warming

ITEOTWAWKI In Russia: Meteor Injures 500+

UPDATE: 1000+ Injured

BOOMSKI!

image

Cherbakul Russia, the official Middle Of Nowhere (900 miles east of Moscow, 100 miles north of central Kazakhstan):

A meteor streaked across the sky above Russia’s Ural Mountains on Friday morning, causing sharp explosions and injuring more than 500 people, many of them hurt by broken glass.

“There was panic. People had no idea what was happening. Everyone was going around to people’s houses to check if they were OK,” said Sergey Hametov, a resident of Chelyabinsk, about 930 miles east of Moscow, the biggest city in the affected region.

“We saw a big burst of light then went outside to see what it was and we heard a really loud thundering sound,” he told The Associated Press by telephone.

Another Chelyabinsk resident, Valya Kazakov, said some elderly women in his neighborhood started crying out that the world was ending.

Some meteorites—fragments of the meteor—fell in a reservoir outside the town of Cherbakul, the regional governor’s office said, according to the ITAR-Tass news agency. It was not immediately clear if any people were struck by fragments.

Meteors typically cause sizeable sonic booms when they enter the atmosphere because they are traveling much faster than the speed of sound. Injuries on the scale reported Friday, however, are extraordinarily rare.

The blast caused the roof to cave in on the zinc factory, so there goes the big weekend party. Post-Soviet Pravda says this chunk of space rock is not part of today’s giant chunk of space rock, DA14, is doing it’s own close shave of our planet, passing by at a near-miss distance barely 3/4 as far up as our telecom and GPS satellites in geostationary orbit (22,236 miles). That’s close. Too close.

Russian news reports noted that the meteor hit less than a day before the asteroid 2012 DA14 is to make the closest recorded pass of an asteroid—about 17,150 miles.

One little blip, one minor deviation in it’s flight path, one very small miscalculation of 14’s path ... BLAMMO. And ITEOTWAWKI for us too perhaps. Maybe those Mayans were only off by 50 days or so. Or maybe it’s because of Global Warming.

UPDATE: An atom bomb’s worth of energy. So brilliant locals rush outside to look at the fireball.

A meteor streaked across the sky and exploded over Russia’s Ural Mountains with the power of an atomic bomb Friday, its sonic blasts shattering countless windows and injuring nearly 1,000 people.

The spectacle deeply frightened many Russians, with some elderly women declaring that the world was coming to an end. Many of the injured were cut by flying glass as they flocked to windows to see what the source was for such an intense flash of light.

The meteor—estimated to be about 10 tons and just 2 meters across—entered the Earth’s atmosphere at a hypersonic speed of at least 33,000 mph and shattered into pieces about 18-32 miles above the ground, the Russian Academy of Sciences said in a statement.

Amateur video showed an object speeding across the sky about 9:20 a.m. local time, just after sunrise, leaving a thick white contrail and an intense flash.

City officials said 3,000 buildings in the city were damaged by the shock wave, including a zinc factory where part of the roof collapsed.

The vast implosion of glass windows exposed many residents to the bitter cold as temperatures in the city hovered around 15.8 Fahrenheit.

The regional governor immediately urged any workers who can pane windows to rush to the area to help out.

Trust me, doing windows is a pane.

The Russian-language hashtags for the meteorite shot into Twitter’s top trends, and the country’s lively blogosphere quickly reacted with black humor.

One of the most popular jokes was that the meteorite was supposed to fall Dec. 21 last year—when many believed the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world—but was delivered late by Russia’s notoriously inefficient postal service.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a nationalist leader noted for vehement statements, blamed the Americans.

“It’s not meteors falling. It’s the test of a new weapon by the Americans,” the RIA Novosti news agency quoted him as saying.

Ha! Trust me, Boris dahlink, if it were one of ours you wouldn’t be standing there making that statement.

image

Is Russian vord for “Kablooie!”?

UPDATE 2:
DA14, the asteroid passing by real closely today, is more than 45 meters across, roughly 150 feet. That makes it many hundred times as heavy as the tiny one that blew up in Russia. It’s also half again larger than the 1908 Tunguska one. Yikes.

image

Scientists think the “Tunguska Event” over Siberia in 1908 was caused by a 100-foot asteroid. This space rock exploded in midair, leveling trees across 825 square miles in the region.

No need to worry; the Muslim Outreach Specialists at NASA have assured us there is absolutely no way, no how, never ever, nuh uh, that this one will hit us. Closest approach, just over 2 planetary diameters, will be at 2:24pm EST, but on the other side of the planet.

a couple of items to brighten the day ahead

Look, the darn fact is, guns are just too dangerous to leave in the hands of responsible, law abiding civilian gun owners.  Can’t have that ya know.
Just look at these examples of violent lawlessness and ask ….

erm, wait a minute.  No guns involved?
Oh.

Never mind.

MAN KILLS WIFE WITH GARDEN GNOME AND KNIFE

A former RAF sergeant had an argument with his wife. He’s 76 btw.
Well, according to the papers, he lost his cool and “bludgeoned” her with a garden gnome before stabbing her to death.

Must have been one hell of an argument.
He told the police he, “just lost it.”

He has been sentenced to four years in jail.
Doesn’t seem like much for what he did but hell. At least it wasn’t a gun which would have drawn more jail time for certain.

Anyway, the poor guy is a victim too as at the exact time of the killing,
he was suffering from a “DEPRESSIVE EPISODE.”
( Preston Crown Court) You couldn’t make this up.

In a bit of other gun related news.  Oh. No gun involved.
That’s okay then.

A young male is reported to have been stabbed ….
In the entrance to a court building yesterday.
A gang of ‘yoots’ was seen running from the scene.

The young black man, it says in my paper, was in the security entrance to Inner London Crown Court.

He was treated at the scene and his injuries were not life threatening.

Yeah I can hear the anti gun folks screaming, but if he’d been shot he’d be dead.  Yeah, so?

In conclusion and way off topic, if I ever had one, a HUGE Thank You to Vilmar who gave me a new expression I had never heard or thought of before.
See?  When you pay attention to smart people you learn new things.

Ground Apes!

Norway Gets Really Cheesed

Trouble In Tysfjord

the wrong kind of toasted cheese

Norway goat cheese fire closes tunnel

A road tunnel in Norway has been closed - by a lorry-load of burning cheese.

About 27 tonnes of caramelised brown goat cheese - a delicacy known as Brunost - caught light as it was being driven through the Brattli Tunnel at Tysfjord, northern Norway, last week.

The fire raged for five days and smouldering toxic gases were slowing the recovery operation, officials said.

The tunnel - which is said to be badly damaged - is likely to remain closed for several weeks, they added.

“We can’t go in until it’s safe,” geologist Viggo Aronsen told Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

Police officer Viggo Berg said the high concentration of fat and sugar in the cheese made it burn “almost like petrol if it gets hot enough”.

The lorry driver had noticed the fire in his trailer and abandoned it about 300m (1,000ft) from the southern entrance. No-one was hurt.

Kjell Bjoern Vinje, of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, said it was the first time he could remember cheese catching fire on Norwegian roads.

“I didn’t know that brown cheese burns so well,” he said.

image

April 12th in nation grilled cheese sandwich day

UPDATE: This is worse than I first thought. Instead of Norway cutting the cheese, the cheese has cut Norway. In two!

Tysfjord is the only location in Norway where the European route E06 highway depends on a car ferry. There are ferry connections from Bognes to Skarberget (route E6) and from Bognes to Lødingen (connecting to route European route E10 and Lofoten). There is also a ferry connecting Drag south of the fjord with Kjøpsvik on the northern shore.

Kjøpsvik is connected to the E6 highway and Narvik by Norwegian National Road 827, with no ferry crossings. This might be an alternative to route E6, and is also the route of choice to get close to Stetind.

If Tysfjord experiences bad weather and the ferry connections are shut down, Norway is cut in two road-wise. A road connection is still maintained, albeit through Sweden, which makes it a very long drive.

So the little town of Drad is on one side of the fjord, Kjøpsvik on the other side, with Hulløya Island in between ... get off the ferry heading north, drive a very short distance up the E06 past Kjøpsvik, and you’re in the Brattli tunnel. And there is no other road around the mountain. So I guess the Norway Express driver is going to have to take the long way through Sweden, and it’s a darn long way: there isn’t much of any kind of road across the border either. This is the Big Empty Zone folks.

Oh, and being a rather coastal nation to begin with, and all fjordy and stuff, the land mass of Norway is actually less than 3 miles wide at the head of Tysfjord, by the commune of Hellemobotn, population 3 dozen. Then it’s the Swedish border. And there’s nothing there. Empty.

So this is some very naughty cheese.

Looking back at the old year ........... it can be safely said that

Looking ahead to this hopeful new year, based on many years of observation with no large amount of study, I predict that

Waiting To Hear From Haidrani and HuffPo On This One

On yer marks!

Get set!

Ho!

Three time US Olympian track star had second career as a $600/hour prostitute.

Whoops. Golly, maybe we should send a little stimulus money to our Olympians so they don’t have to turn tricks to make both ends meat?

Blonde and buff All-American mom Suzy Favor Hamilton confessed Thursday to leading a sordid double-life as a high-flying $600-an-hour call girl after she was outed by TheSmokingGun.com.

“I realize I have made highly irrational choices and I take full responsibility for them,” said Hamilton, 44, via her Twitter account. “I am not a victim here and knew what I was doing.”

...

The hard-bodied Hamilton — an Olympian in 1992, 1996 and 2000 — offered an apology and added that she was seeing a psychologist and hoping to keep her marriage and family intact.

The Madison, Wisc., resident is wed to her college sweetheart, and the two have a 7-year-old daughter. She began her illicit second career a year ago, according to the investigative web site. She said her husband knew about her escort sideline.

Oh wait, this was after her Olympic era. Never mind about the stipend idea.  Still, she became a call girl by choice, right? Exploitation?

Hamilton, whose career led to a Nike television ad and promotional work for Disney, was a middle-distance runner who never medaled but won seven U.S. national titles.

Beginning in December 2011, she was billed as “Kelly Lundy” for a top Las Vegas escort service — jetting to visit clients in the gambling mecca, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.

So at least part of her new career was legal.

Ok, the ball is in your court no Ms. Haidrani. Get out your golden tiara and your red velvet “A”, and make the judgment. Was this one setting women’s rights and the women’s movement forward or back? Or is it Bush’s fault, since it seems she may have turned hooker for the money during this big bad Recession we’ve been having.

Filtered News From Fox

What a load of crap. Read the whole article; nobody says the “U word” once, yet it was common knowledge, local news, and even all over the internet that these work crews that drove halfway across the country to help were shut out because they were not union employees. And it was reported that they were told this to their faces. That was just a couple weeks ago. Has the Collective Hivemind become so blunted that it can’t remember back a whole five weeks, and history can be rewritten so quickly?

I am very disappointed in Fox News, but this isn’t the first time. I think they’re down to just one employee who tells it straight - Sean Hannity - and he’s on his way to being marginalized as a kook just like Glen Beck was. The rest of the crew are either playing it stupid or have tilted far to the left. They are the MSM just like MSNBC. Biased rats.

FEMA teams told to ‘sightsee’ as Sandy victims suffered

Hurry up and wait.

That’s what first responders were left to do after being deployed by FEMA to assist in the storm-ravaged areas in the initial days after superstorm Sandy, FoxNews.com has learned. A FEMA worker who spoke to FoxNews.com described a chaotic scene at New Jersey’s Fort Dix, where emergency workers arrived as the storm bore down on the Atlantic Coast. The worker said officials at the staging area were unprepared and told the incoming responders there was nothing for them to do for nearly four days.

“They told us to hurry, hurry, hurry,” the worker, who works at the agency’s headquarters in Washington and volunteered to deploy for the storm recovery effort. “We rushed to Fort Dix, only to find out that our liaison didn’t even know we were coming.”

“The regional coordinator even said to us, ‘I don’t know why you were rushed here because we don’t need you,’” said the worker, who spoke out of frustration with the lack of planning and coordination following the devastating storm.

After arriving in New Jersey, the worker and others waited for three full days and parts of another, even as reports dominated the television of the devastation and suffering wrought by the storm, which struck land on Oct. 29. When they asked for assignments, they couldn’t believe the response, according to the worker.

some stuff never changes except pc stupidity. that keeps getting stupider

In the news today.

What do ya do if you’re a loser and out of work and have no family as in wife and kids?  What if you have a brother that has a wife and four kids and owns a highly successful restaurant?
What do you do?  What Do You Do?

Well, if you happen to be from Bangladesh and your name is Foyez Ahmed, the answer is obvious to you if nobody else.

You murder your sister-in-law by cutting her throat.

And that is exactly what the ass-wipe did.
I suppose his lawyer will claim mental stress due to being a failure in life and everything else.  Except murder.
They really need to ditch the EU and bring back the rope here.
-30-

Meanwhile, while the above monster was doing his worst, another fellow named Kasid Hussain was employed and working as a taxi driver.
With a twist that now makes me wonder about the use of taxis in future, what Mr. Hussain did is quite thought provoking.
He was tipping off friends so that they could burgle the homes of the fares after he’d picked them up.
He relayed info to the gang on 10 occasions before being caught.
-30-

Help parents or go to jail
teen is told by judge
Howz this for punishment? This’ll lay on the frighteners.
This teen had committed a couple of burglaries and was caught. Goes to court and the judge gives him home time instead of jail time. Instructs the teen (18) he can avoid jail if he helps his mom around the house and does dishes and keeps his room neat and clean etc.  Oh yeah, he has to make his bed every day, has 120 hrs of unpaid community work and 6 months drug rehab.
The kid says he should have been jailed but plans to go straight after this and have no more trouble.  I guess we can hope he sticks to that.
-30-

This country really, really needs to get things together. They have gone completely mad I tell you, what with all this rubbish about racial abuse and here’s an example of total stupid.  Honest, I don’t see how it can get much dumber.

Two women are in an argument and one is obviously three sheets to the wind.
So in anger, she calls her neighbor “A stupid fat Australian.” Result?

Neighbour guilty of racially abusing New Zealand-born woman by calling her a ‘stupid fat Australian’

That’s the headline. I am not posting the story. Here’s a link tho if you want to read it.

pc just never stops being stupid and this is a good example.fined £110 for racially aggravated public disorder

guns need to be licensed and registered so this doesn’t happen here in the west

Yeah I know. I shouldn’t make light of this brief article I found this morning.
Actually, I not laughing about what happened to these folks. I really don’t think it funny.  Damn bad way to go.
What I found amusing was my own immediate thought, wait til the left reads this story. They will somehow find a way to relate it to the USA and demand gun control and limits. You know the litany.
So I thought I’d post the article which I found in the Telegraph this morning.

Tried calling Drew last night. No success.  Morning papers say most of his home state is without power still. Jeesh.

WEDDING GUNFIRE SALUTE HITS CABLE AND KILLS 23

Celebratory gunfire at a wedding party in eastern Saudi Arabia brought down an electric cable, killing 23.

At the wedding, the cable fell on a metal door and the 23 who died were all electrocuted.  Those killed were all from the same tribe, thirty others were injured.

Saudi Arabia had banned gunfire at weddings, a tradition in tribal areas, a month ago.

Hit ‘n Run

** The media runs the show now, forget the people or the government. NO KIDDING.

** The 5 scandals of Obama. Really? I would have thought it was about 30 by now, BUT ANYWAY ... luv comment 2:

Fast and Furious. Just what did the administration hope to accomplish by letting guns get into the hands of drug cartel operators without tracking those guns adequately.
We all know the answer: They hoped to show that illegal guns were coming mostly from the U.S. (instead of where they were really coming from: Guatemala, Europe, South America, Asia, even Russia), thereby providing a fabricated excuse to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding Americans

Kathleen Sebelius breaks federal law, keeps her job.
“Mad Maxine” Waters does too, but we can correct these injustices on November 6.

Obama administration leaks sensitive national security information for political purposes.
Has this administration taken any action whatsoever for anything other than political purposes? National security and the best interests of the people are secondary to this twisted administration.

Obama administration tells defense contractors to violate federal law. Bonus: Obama administration says it will use taxpayer dollars to pay any government fines incurred.
Only problem is, some aren’t going along, i.e. Lockheed Martin. Obama did say he would have the most transparent administration in history, and the transparency of this is so obvious, most Americans will see right through it.

Libya.
Romney should be saying in every speech he gives, “Do you really want your sons & daughters entering a military commanded by someone who won’t even watch their backs and calls deaths at U.S. embassies ‘a bump in the road’?”

Well, yeah to all of that. But I’m sure there were at least a few other MAJOR scandals ... like Solyndra and all the other companies hardly out of start up that were run by major Obama supporters that received millions and billions of stimulus money only to go broke shortly thereafter. Or the New Black Panthers Party voter intimidation thing dropped by Holders racist DOJ ... and that’s just the very tip of the iceberg.

** Eww, tastes like plastic. German booze company says it’s latest products have been poured over naked hot chicks before being bottled. Follow the link at the link and win free caulk by being the first to spot the racism in their ad campaign.

** National Security? What’s that? Even after getting one of the bigs to fall on his sword for O-dhimmi (DNI Clapper claps off), the Libya story situation just keeps getting worse. As well it should. Hello, ACT OF WAR people. Hello, TREASON people. Do I need to bring in Sam U L Jackson? WTF Up!!

The coordinated attacks on the US consulate in Benghazi, which killed our ambassador and three other Americans — and the worldwide explosion of assaults on our diplomatic installations elsewhere in the Muslim word — have vividly exposed the hollow core of the president’s foreign-policy “reset.”

It was just a few weeks ago at the Democratic national convention that Obama confidently declared that “al Qaeda is on the path to defeat and Osama bin Laden is dead.” And yet, on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, al Qaeda struck again against our lightly guarded consulate in Benghazi, where ambassador Chris Stevens was murdered — an attack, it now turns out, the United States had ample reason to suspect was coming.

The White House sent stooges like Press Secretary Jay Carney and, worse, UN ambassador Susan Rice, before the public to blame the carnage on understandable Muslim “outrage.”

More chillingly, its response was to the blame the filmmaker, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian living in the Los Angeles area. An ever-obliging news media promptly hunted down the man, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, and — after Obama went to the United Nations and solemnly proclaimed that “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” — the feds threw him in jail on the pretext of a parole violation.

Holy cow-cow. Forget RCOB moments. If I blog about this stuff my blood pressure will spike so bad my eyes will explode. At this point, how can there not be villagers with torches in the streets; how can we not be in the midst of a violent revolution? Oh wait. Never mind. See item #1. Nothing to see here, go back to sleep. Watch some football, although we won’t show you any of the cheerleaders you really hope to see, and the game itself has been sacrificed to be more television broadcast friendly.

** Good news? Well ... yet another Mexican dope lord got caught. This one had Fast and Furious guns in his pockets. But nothing to see there, move along, let’s give Holder another award.

“When he [El Diego] was captured in Chihuahua in the summer of 2011, he was found with weapons that the American government had allowed to enter Mexico,” the anchor added.

Wait a second, that was LAST YEAR that he was caught! Why is this news NOW??? Oh yeah, that’s right ... see item #1 at the top of the post. It’s news now because the media is allowing it to be news now, after all the F&F kerfluffle is over, cleaned up, and swept under the rug. Nothing to see here, move along.

Must Go Find A Bridge Now

Because it’s escapism for me, pure and simple. Not just from the situation revolving around my MIL, which is bad enough. But from the rest of the world. Because the USA of A has gone completely dog biscuit insane.

How else could this shit happen, or be news, or WORSE, storied ignored by the news media?

2,000 American soldiers have now died in Afghanistan. Yeah, and 3/4 of them under Obama. Who has done everything he possibly could do to lose that war, and the one before it in Iraq. And that isn’t news. It isn’t news when our troops get killed. It isn’t news when our bases get overrun. The media openly roots for our enemies and the only coverage from the whole regional conflict is when “more unarmed civilians killed by drone strikes”. Really? The insurgents don’t wear uniforms, so how do you know they’re merely civilians? And in a land where everybody carries a machine gun, how is it that you can call them unarmed? (snide: sure, AFTER the bomb went off)

American anti-islam film maker is now in solitary confinement maximum security federal prison! For “parole violations”, uh huh, yeah right. And Obama snips off another chunk of the Constitution. 1st Amendment? Oh, that doesn’t apply if you insult islam.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The California man behind an anti-Islam film that stoked violent protests across the Muslim world was being held at a federal high-rise jail in downtown Los Angeles on Friday over possible probation violations, a prison official said.

Federal officials, citing safety concerns, were tight-lipped about the conditions of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula’s confinement, including whether he was being held with the general population or was isolated from other inmates.

“He is at Metropolitan Detention Center,” said Chris Burke, a spokesman for the federal Bureau of Prisons, adding that the facility holds 969 inmates.

Nakoula has been described as the producer of a crudely made 13-minute video filmed in California and circulated online under several titles including “Innocence of Muslims.” It portrays the Prophet Mohammad as a fool and a sexual deviant.

Unreported fact: prior to the massacre in Libya and the press using this video as a pretext, fewer than 300 people had seen the thing. Which on YouTube is as close to zero as it can get.

Wasn’t that lying sack of monkey puss Holder just given some kind of big deal award last week? Now it turns out that dozens more of those Fast & Furious guns have surfaced all over the place, and that that news was clamped down but good. And it’s ABC running the story, which included actual reporting and journalistic research, so you know all that work was done by the little spic sister network Univsion. Because his panics aren’t quite as far up Obama’s ass as the white boys at ABC.

Fifty seven previously unidentified firearms linked to Operation Fast and Furious were recovered in sites associated with murders, kidnappings, and at least two gruesome massacres.

Univision News obtained the list of Fast and Furious weapons and a list containing almost 60,000 recovered firearms compiled by Mexico’s Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA). A cross-reference of the serial numbers of the guns resulted in 96 full matches (several partial matches were discarded). The 96 firearms linked to Operation Fast and Furious all turned up at crime scenes in Mexico from 2009 to 2010.

In other words, the fact was out there the whole time, and it just needed somebody to pay attention and notice that the numbers didn’t seem to square up, and then make a bit of effort to find out why. You know, in other words, research. It what reporters do. Well, the day labor ones at any rate.

And of course the story that ought to bring down a government but won’t (one of dozens that coulda/shoulda/woulda if the media was not an actual active enemy of the American people), the Stevens affair, aka Yet Another Act Of Terrorism On The US That Somehow Isn’t.

The story of the terror attack in Benghazi is that neither Clinton nor the president who made her secretary of state responded to the real emergency when it came. The biggest foreign-policy crisis of the last four years is revealing an astonishing lack of competence and character at the center of the Obama administration.

That’s not to say the Democratic duo did nothing in response to the worst terror attack on American civilians since 9/11. After eulogizing our dead ambassador and three others, Obama and Clinton got to work spinning a web of deceit that would make Richard Nixon blush.

They sent out a wave of aides to mislead and torture the truth. Even now, nearly three weeks later, they have yet to come clean.

In the process, they are demonstrating how to turn a disaster into a scandal.

You want the truth? The truth is whatever the media want it to be. And they do this because they know that Americans are too fat, too lazy, too stupid, and too selfish to get up off their overstuffed asses and do anything about it. So no, it’s not terrorism. And the White House is carefully investigating everything before leaping to conclusions. And the film guy was jailed for parole violations. And Jon Corzine and Maxine Waters are both completely innocent. And California can balance it’s budget. And the rich don’t pay enough taxes. And so on and so on and so on.

That Reset button up at the top of the page? It’s not just because I made a nifty graphic. The whole damn country needs a reset. A purge of laws, ideas, and vast numbers of people. And the media ... oh, don’t get me started.

Night Shift Sucks

Once upon a time, I worked the overnight shift in the grocery stores. Never again. It was Hell. And it looks like it still is. This story is still breaking ...

4am shooting leaves 3 dead in NJ grocery store

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. – DEVELOPING:  At least three people have died in a shooting at a New Jersey supermarket early Friday, a law enforcement official said.

The person believed to be the shooter is among the dead, a law enforcement official briefed on the shooting told The Associated Press. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the shooting took place in a different jurisdiction.

The shooting happened at about 4 a.m. inside a Pathmark grocery store in Old Bridge, a suburb about 25 miles from New York, Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry told nj.com. The store was closed at the time and was scheduled to open at 6 a.m.

The store and its parking lot were closed Friday.

New Jersey Transit closed its nearby park-and-ride lot and told riders that they could park in other park-and-ride lots or could ride the North Jersey Coast rail line.

Shots were heard inside the Old Bridge supermarket just before 4 a.m. EDT as employees were preparing to open the store for business, said the local ABC affiliate.

Police found two windows bashed in, the station reported.

I can’t say if somebody was trying to break in, or if they were upset that the store wasn’t open all night, or if this was a disagreement between armed employees (and carrying a gun in NJ is 1000% against the law!), or what.  I don’t know the town of Old Bridge, so I can’t give you any help there either. Old Bridge is in central, coastal NJ, though it is not really a “down the shore” town as they say here; while it is south of Raritan Bay and Staten Island, it is also several miles west of the Garden State Parkway, the coastal highway that is the effective western border to all the seaside communities.

UPDATE: Shit, piss, and damnation. I hate when the weekly NCIS scenario actually happens.

Police responded to shots fired inside the Pathmark, where employees were stocking shelves, at 1043 Route 9 in Old Bridge just before 4 a.m. The store was scheduled to open at 6 a.m.

There was a confrontation with the gunman, who was reportedly in body armor, and the suspect was killed. He was tentatively identified as a 23-year-old ex-Marine who worked at the supermarket for the last two weeks.

It is unknown how many others were shot before police responded, but authorities believe he killed two, a man and a woman, before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities say he left the store around 4 a.m. and returned dressed in camouflage, armed with an AK-47 and an automatic handgun. He shot the two victims, both young adults. The woman was believed to be just 18.

Responding police discovered the bodies and evacuated the other employees to the nearby TGI Fridays. Several were being treated for trauma at waiting ambulances.

all it takes is boatloads of money

I was just about ready to cash in tonight when I ran across this.
We’re all interested in real estate. Aren’t we?

Or maybe not but hey.  Read it all at the link and be sure and see ALL the photos.

Maybe it’s just me but for the millions he’s shelling out, as nice as this one place is, I’ve seen a lot prettier. Not that that this place is a slum
Whoa. Far from it.

I haven’t used this line in awhile but it sure applies here and so I’ll repeat it.

IT IS NO SECRET WHAT MONEY CAN DO.  WHAT IT’S DONE FOR OTHERS, IT CAN DO FOR YOU.

But it would be of great help if ya had bags and bags of the stuff first.

Even with all his ready money, he was rejected by a condo committee. They didn’t want him and he never even got a personal hearing. Good thing maybe because, he also has Diplomatic Immunity.  Can you just imagine what a nightmare that could have become, especially with all those offspring.

They do tend to have long names. Why is that? It’s like mommy wasn’t sure which one she liked best at birth and so used all the options.

His earlier $31.5m bid for two Fifth Avenue apartments belonging to the late copper heiress, Huguette Clark, was rejected
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Located at 22 E. 71st Street, the property was previously owned by real estate magnate Aby Rosen, the co-founder and president of RFR Holdings.

The 21,000-square-foot mansion boasts five floors, a reception hall, and a jacuzzi, according to property listings.

The New York Post reported that while Rosen was known to host extravagant parties at the property, he never actually lived there.

The super-secret deal was reportedly done without a broker to keep the sheikh’s name from getting out.

A source told the Post: ‘The house has been purchased through an LLC, Tower Management Holdings, to protect the identity of the buyer, Sheik Hamad, who has been looking to purchase a New York property.’

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
