Tom Brokaw Sucks

I’ll let this Liberal bullshit artist speak for himself. Victim, my ass ....

NBC’s Tom Brokaw expressed the hope that the CBS News controversy “doesn’t spread the stain across to NBC News” and, on Thursday night’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Brokaw took a shot bloggers and talk radio hosts critical of Dan Rather: “This is not something I am persuaded that he’s out to do deliberately despite what some bloggers will say or radio talk show hosts will say.” Brokaw portrayed his fellow anchor as a victim: “I think he was really trying to get at a big story about the President’s National Guard service. And they got stung by some documents.”

Really, officer, the tree jumped in front of my car.

Immediately after Brokaw sat down on the September 23 Late Night show on NBC, Conan O’Brien asked him to comment on the Dan Rather situation. The MRC’s Geoff Dickens took down Brokaw’s reply: “It’s a difficult time for anyone who’s in the news business and you know we all like to be aggressive about what we’re doing and cover the next big story. And then occasionally you’ll get caught in something like this. And the whole world, especially in our business because we’re so public and we have such high visibility, is looking in on your life and it’s tough. It’s tough for everyone at CBS News. We’ve had a lot of conversations about it in our newsroom. And we hope that it doesn’t, you know, spread the stain across to NBC News but I think that probably for a lot of people out there, they’re wondering, ‘Well what about the standards at NBC? Would the same kind of thing happen there?’ What do you do about checking? We went through our own difficulty here a number of years ago with the Dateline episode where they didn’t disclose everything that they should have about the test they were doing on a truck. It was [the] single most difficult time that I can remember”.

“So I do feel bad for Dan. He’s had a long and distinguished career. This is not something I am persuaded that he’s out to do deliberately despite what some bloggers will say or radio talk show hosts will say. I think he was really trying to get at a big story about the President’s National Guard service. And they got stung by some documents and it’s too bad but they’ve now launched an internal investigation and it’s probably best if we all just sit back and see how that turns out.”

I think Brokaw needs a swift kick in the ass to straighten his butt out. This is just more of the Liberal “victim mentality” that lets criminals get away with murder with claims that they are victims of a dysfunctional family or whatever. BULLSHIT, Tommy-boy! Get a grip. Rather did it to himself with shoddy reporting and a definite bias. If he is a victim, it’s of his own STOOPIDITY! Just like you’re demonstrating right now! When are you people in the MSM going to start taking responsibility for your reporting and learn how to give us fair and impartial coverage of the day’s news? If you don’t hurry up and get your heads out of your collective asses, you may find out that bloggers have replaced you all. Ipse facto, bud!

News Bytes

If you’re Hannibal Gaddafi, son of mad dog Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, you can get away with (1) leading Paris cops on a high-speed chase, (2) letting your bodyguards get into a brawl with the gendarmes and (3) seriously injuring one of the policemen .... without any penalty whatsoever. Why? Repeat after me, kids: DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY.

I’m kinda on the fence on this one. This man applies for a job, doesn’t get hired, company sends him paychecks anyway. Now the company wants the money back and the man is arrested for theft. I’d say the man should get to keep the money as a penalty for the company’s payroll department being so DAMNED STOOPID. But that’s just my opinion .... I could be wrong.

In an ongoing attempt to ward off further hurricanes, a Georgia company is now accepting the ashes of dead relatives to be poured in concrete and used to form barrier reefs. Obviously, they hope the dead will rise up in great numbers as each hurricane approaches and spook it so bad it’ll return to Africa. Indeed.

Art lovers visiting a new gallery exhibiting “nude” art are being encouraged to come in the nude in order to get closer to the art. Mheh-heh. No comment from the gallery owner, Bill Clinton.

I’m with Frank J. on this one. Monkeys are no damned good and they all need to be exterminated. Just do it!

CBS stations around the country have been receiving literally tens of thousands of e-mails and letters requesting Dan Rather be fired. Rather fired back, “those e-mails are forgeries generated by Karl Rove”. When questioned, Karl Rove had this to say, “Mwah-hah-hah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha ....”. I agree.

And finally, Neal Boortz has discovered the best candidate for ”Mother Of The Year”.

Reuters:  The News Agency Favored By Terrorists Worldwide

Are you ready to be really pissed off?

Read this news article by Reuters which covers the suicide bombing by a FEMALE Palestinian terrorist (or insurgent as Reuters would say) who killed two Israelis and injured 17.

I’ll help you along with some pertinent quotes:

“(Her family) rushed ...to empty the family home in the Palestinian refugee camp of Askar near the West Bank city of Nablus, expecting Israeli bulldozers to soon come to demolish it.”

“hundreds of residents of the Askar camp rushed to help the bomber’s family remove furniture, clothes and appliances from a two-storey house built by the United Nations agency that serves Palestinian refugees.”

“Her father Ali, recovering from surgery to open clogged arteries, collapsed and ..........(m)inutes later, Abu Salem’s mother also passed out”

“Oppression is everywhere,” said her uncle Mustafa Shinawi, 55. “Every Palestinian finds his own suitable way to protest the Israeli oppression.”

Throughout the article one is made to feel pity for the family and the female terorist bitch.

I dare you to find anything in that piece that mentions that almost two dozen people were killed and injured by this she-bitch.  Or the grief THEIR families are feeling.  And their heartache at having lost INNOCENT loved ones.  But Reuters focuses, instead, on the plight of the actual terrorist’s family!!!

Yep.......................Reuters:  the tool of terrorists everywhere.

Tales Told By Idiots

When I first saw the lead-in to this story I knew it was going to be good.  And I was right--as usual!  tongue wink

Tell me if this does not encapsulate in a few words what the Kerry campaign is all about:

“A tale told by an idiot; full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Thank you, thank you, William Shakespeare!!!!!

Phil Brennan goes on to detail some of the “sound and fury” behind Fuckface’s campaign like the dissension within the ranks regarding what they should be doing:

The idiot’s tale has been observed up close by none other than long-time Democrat pro Tony Coehlo, who ran Al Gore’s campaign early in the 2000 presidential race.  “There is nobody in charge and you have these two teams that are generally not talking to each other,”

He then gets into the Kerry campaign’s attempt to deflect the torpedoes unleashed at their candidate by the SBVFT ads by insisting President Bush got preferential treatment in the Guard.

From there he segues right into the CBS mess and how disingenuous Mary Mapes and C-B.S. were in their coverage of not only Blather-gate but the Abu Ghraib prisoner harassment.  Mary Mapes said she spent MONTHS and MONTHS trying to find those pictures.  She talks of how difficult it was and how much of it was from “whispered” accounts.  Yet back in January when Mapes was supposedly chasing down whispers, CNN AND the military admitted there were pictures--and they didn’t whisper this, it was announced to the world.  Damn, sure is a LOUD whisper.

But then again, what can you expect from a deceitful bitch who admits spending 5 years tracking down President Bush’s National Guard non-story?  And C-B.S. still says it is not biased?  Yeah, right!

But most damning of all is what the author of this piece quotes from Mapes’ own father:

“I’m really ashamed of what my daughter has become. She’s a typical liberal. She went into journalism with an ax to grind, and that was to promote radical feminism.”

I’m sorry as a father that my daughter was the producer of it.

His daughter, he suggested, is intellectually dishonest

If my father said that about me I’d be devastated. They’d be like arrows to the heart. The wounds would bleed heavily inside. But we must remember we’re dealing with a Dummycrap.  Mary Mapes will wear those comments like a badge of honor.  Or maybe....journalistic purple hearts?

Is It Bias or Just Your Imagination?

Page 1 of the L.A. Times talks about Kerry’s lead in that state, 55% to 40%.  How is it touted?

“California voters remain strongly in favor of ousting President Bush and replacing him with Sen. John F. Kerry.”

Let’s take a little trip across state lines and see what is going on in Airizona, shall we?  Here, the L.A. Times says Bush leads Kerry 54% to 38% (that’s 16 points in Arizona aversus 15 points in California).

How did the L.A. Times cover THIS story?  Come on, you oughtta know by now:

“Long a Republican Bulwark, a Growing Arizona Is in Play.” (emphasis mine)

And, OBTW, not only was the Arizona story buried on page 20 but it wasn’t until LATE into it that you see the numbers.

So, what’s the casual reader to think?  Especially if he does not have time to read the whole thing?  That’s right!!!!

The headline was PURPOSELY written to give the impression Arizona was within Kerry’s grasp.

Hmmmmmmmm, I wonder how the L.A. Times will cover the fact that in Arizona Kerry has decided to stop running campain ads.

Thanks to Best of the Web.

Book ‘Em, Danno

William Safire dug up the legal background to pursue RatherGate ....

Quoting U.S. Criminal Code, Chapter 63, Section 1343, New York Times columnist William Safire went straight to the heart of the CBS Rathergate scandal, writing, “At the root of what is today treated as an embarrassing blunder by duped CBS journalists may turn out to be a felony by its faithless sources.”

Writing in Wednesday’s New York Times, Safire noted that the statute holds that “Whoever, having devised any scheme or artifice to defraud transmits or causes to be transmitted by means of wire, radio or television communication in interstate or foreign commerce, any writings for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.”

Safire contends that law applies to those who “conceived a scheme to create a series of false Texas Air National Guard documents and append a photocopied signature to one of them.”

Says Safire, that person “then helped cause the fraudulent file to be transmitted by means of television communication to millions of voters for the purpose of influencing a federal election” – which he adds is “no mere ‘dirty trick’ but a potential violation of federal law.”

According to this, someone needs to go to jail and I would venture to suggest See-BS is guilty of being an accomplice ex post facto. I wonder if Martha Stewart will mind sharing her jail cell with Dan Rather?

A Canadian Sees The Light

I’d almost given up on my Canadian neighbors but after reading this I believe there is hope.  A few more like this and I just may make that trip to Canada to spend some of my American dollars there.

We’ve all known for a long time (well, most of us, anyway) of Reuters News Service’s predisposition to not want to refer to terrorists as “terrorists” but rather, as activists or freedom fighters or some such liberal, bullshit nonsense.

But our Canadian friends at CanWest, Canada’s largest newspaper chain, may be on the road to vindicating themselves in my eyes for the atrocious anti-American and anti-Bush behavior of Canadians in general over the past 4 years with this one.

Looks like CanWest’s editor-in-chief, Mr. Anderson, is basically telling Reuters to go fuck themselves by calling a spade a spade.  How?  His editorial board is now inserting the word “terrorist” in Reuters stories!  And Reuters is PISSED OFF!  (hey, fuck ‘em if they can’t take a joke, right?”

Check this out.  Reuters says they don’t use those terms because their

“… editorial policy is that we don’t use emotive words when labeling someone”

So now adjectives and nouns are emotive?  I wonder if they use the word “murderer” or “rapist”?  Hey, those are emotive, aren’t they?  How about leftist?  Conservative?  Liberal?

Hell, Muslim or Islamic is pretty fucking emotive for me!  Will they stop using those, too?  Or only the words that fit their convenient, politically correct definition?

I’ll leave you with this:

“Scott Anderson, editor-in-chief of CanWest Publications, said Reuters’ policy “undermine[s] journalistic principles,” and raised the key question: “If you’re couching language to protect people, are you telling the truth?” The issue was addressed in a recent editorial published in the Ottawa Citizen, one of CanWest’s newspapers:

Terrorism is a technical term. It describes a modus operandi, a tactic. We side with security professionals who define terrorism as the deliberate targeting of civilians in pursuit of a political goal. Those who bombed the nightclub in Bali were terrorists. Suicide bombers who strap explosives to their bodies and blow up people eating in a pizza parlor are terrorists. The men and women who took a school full of hostages in Beslan, Russia, and shot some of the children in the back as they tried to flee to safety were terrorists. We as journalists do not violate our impartiality by describing them as such.

Ironically, it is supposedly neutral terms like ‘militant’ that betray a bias, insofar as they have a sanitizing effect. Activists for various political causes can be ‘militant,’ but they don’t take children hostage.

BRAVO, Mr. Anderson.  Finally, a Canadian who gets it.

Headin’ Out

Allan here. I’m loaded up and about to leave, headed south on I-65. I have $100 woth of bottled water and $100 worth of ice that I need to get moving with. I intend to give it all away to family members who are still without power and to anyone else who needs it. I’ll be back Friday, gang. As Vilmar told you earlier today, I finally found my son late last night and he’s OK. So far, all of my family has reported in without injuries or deaths. I’ll have more on the destruction when I return.

For right now, I want to leave a message for Dan Rather: “Dan, read this! Take heed! I expect you to do the right thing!”

More Bullshit At C-B.S.

If you want to get even more pissed off at what CBS did concerning Blather-Gate, check out this story where Kerry advisors were consulted on the memos.

Now Joe Lockhart is denying he was the second person to talk to Burkett prior to release of the story.

It drives me into a blind rage when I see this crap taking place and CBS denying they are not biased.  If they weren’t then how come NO ONE from the Bush Administration was ever consulted?  Why were all the people consulted members of the DNC or Democratic party?

Think about it:  that what they did is a felony!  Therefore to refuse to admit who provided the forged memos makes them accomplices to that felony.  And all C--B.S. can do is say that although the papers are forged, the allegations and story behind it has an element of truth to it.

This is nothing more than corruption at the highest levels of CBS, the DNC and the Kerry campaign.  And you can tell how bad it is when all you get is denial, denial, denial, denial.

I just hope the Republican National Committee unleashes its big dog lawyers and goes after these fucking sons of bitches.

F**K CBS!!!!

It’s about time someone in the Bush Administration got some balls and did this.

President Bush’s advisors are now recommending to the President that he there not be any CBS moderators at the debates. FUCKIN’ A!!!!

They have a point, after all, when saying:

“Who can trust these CBS people to play it straight [during the debate]? I suspect they will be out for revenge.”

I only hope the President agrees with the recommendation.  Time to set these fucktards in their place.  They’ve proven where their allegiance lies and it is not with the safety and well-being of our country.

RAGE!

I just watched See-BS News for the first time in thirty years. Just to see what Rather (Fucktard) had to say. I thought he was going to choke on the “I’m sorry” part. His eye blink rate went way up and you could see his blood pressure rising. There was a brief interview with a very belligerent Bill Burkett who refused to say who he actually got the forged documents from. He did admit that he lied to Rather about the source.

What a crock of shit! I’m sick and tired of this pissant fucktard moron at See-BS bullshitting his way through a blatant attempt to influence the election for the man he favors. His coverage of Kerry on the campaign trail (four minutes and three sound bites) contrasted with the coverage of Bush on the campaign trail (twenty seconds and one sound bite) forced me to throw my shoe at the TV.

Arrrggggghhhhhhhh!!!! I want to strangle that elitist, pious, arrogant bastard ..........

cool grin

P.S. We’re almost at 102,000. Only about forty visitors to go. Who wins the prize? More importantly, will they have anything intelligent to blog about.

P.P.S. Yes, I’m in a furious, damned bad mood tonight. I knew I shouldn’a watched that pissant Rather. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! RAGE! KILL! ARGH!

P.P.P.S. Sorry folks but I’ve been trying to get in touch with my youngest son since Saturday with no success. He lives about forty miles inland just Northeast of Mobile. That area suffered massive damage and I’m a little tightly wound right now. Please overlook my touchiness.

Mea Culpa From Rather

Drudge just posted this statement from Dan Rather ....

Last week, amid increasing questions about the authenticity of documents used in support of a 60 MINUTES WEDNESDAY story about President Bush’s time in the Texas Air National Guard, CBS News vowed to re-examine the documents in question—and their source—vigorously. And we promised that we would let the American public know what this examination turned up, whatever the outcome.

Now, after extensive additional interviews, I no longer have the confidence in these documents that would allow us to continue vouching for them journalistically. I find we have been misled on the key question of how our source for the documents came into possession of these papers. That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised in public and in the press, leads me to a point where—if I knew then what I know now—I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question.

But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.

Please know that nothing is more important to us than people’s trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully.

1. What Rather is saying is: “I am not a crook”.
2. It didn’t work for Nixon and it shouldn’t work for Rather.
3. It will work for Rather because he has so much power at CBS.
4. A producer will likely be thrown to the lions, probably Mary Mapes.
5. Burkett will not be prosecuted for forgery because CBS will protect him.
6. This sucks!
