Polish immigrants’ guide to fleecing ‘soft’ Britain
A guide to exploiting “soft” British laws has been published for Poles emigrating to the UK.

It shows how to avoid electricity bills and tax, rent flats for free and con insurance companies.

The scams, published in Polish magazine Przeglad, are revealed by Polish workers already living in Britain.

One man, quoted as a Polish criminal expert, said that cheating the system had became a way of life under decades of Communist rule.

“Once you’ve cheated the Communist government and the Iron Curtain and the Soviet states, running rings around British Gas is child’s play,” he explained.

A worker called Tomek suggested opening electricity and gas accounts with bogus personal details. He said: “How can I pay bills that aren’t addressed to me? The accounting system in England is based on trust, that’s why you can phone and give them data plucked out of thin air.”

Another man recommends renting a house in a made-up name, then immediately stopping rent payments because tenancy laws mean it will be months before they are evicted. In the meantime the property is sublet to dozens of others.

Expensive mobile phones are insured and then reported “stolen”. Once the insurers pay out, the cheats pocket the cash and sell the “stolen” phone back home in Poland for a £100 profit.

Another man tells how he never pays for a television licence, electricity or gas bills - but boasts that he has never been cut off.

“In Poland it would be unheard of - they would have cut everything off long ago,” he said. “And you’d have to be an idiot to register the TV.”

A former neighbor in CA. sent this to me and I was much impressed. Very passionate is this fellow. Be very interesting to know what BMEWS readers think.
Was it on target? Was it overdone?  Agree? Don’t agree? Why?  Will it do any good or have we become so apathetic it won’t matter anymore.
And btw, I was just infomed by friend Jim thru photos, about floods in Iowa.  Huh?  When?  Not being funny, not at all.  I never saw or read about the extent of the floods anywhere here.  True, there may have been a mention but nothing lasting so it was new, news to me.

Will post on that later.

Sorry to have left Friday a blank.  Wasn’t home here at the house, and never booted Fri.  Feel guilty for that but could not be helped.

A local hospital has forced itself into bankruptcy because they were bleeding money from all the illegals using the place. They might re-open as a private special treatment center, but as a hospital they’re gone. They will also open a non-emergency emergency room, ie a clinic, for all the pore, starvin, and illegals.

Boat migrants swamp Italian island .

Maybe they’re trying to reach the USA so they can all vote for Rama-Lama may a pest be upon him.
Even among primitives like these folks, word travels fast.  If more of these life forms were shot on site, europe would have less of a problem then it does because the word would go out.  But no. They’ll be allowed to stay and guess who gets the privilege of supporting these ,,,, these ,,,, people?

A tiny Italian island was described as “on its knees” after more than 800 migrants arrived by boat from Africa in 24 hours.

The migrants, all from Africa, arrived on Lampedusa, south of Sicily, pushing its services to breaking point. Government officials said the huge influx underlined the need to issue a state of emergency over the problem of illegal immigration which has become a key concern of the new Italian government.

The island’s mayor, Bernardino De Rubeis, said: “Lampedusa is on its knees and we need an urgent visit from the interior minister Roberto Maroni, so he can see the dilemma we face.

“The time has come for this to stop and for a solution to this problem to be found once and for all, the needs of the people of Lampedusa are being forgotten.

“We have seen a 30 per cent drop in tourism and we have also down to just one daily flight between the island and Lampedusa and we have other pressing problems such as drainage and sanitation which are not being dealt with.”

He added that by the weekend he expected the number of illegal immigrants on the island to be 1,500 - more than double the capacity of the island’s holding centre.

Lampedusa’s deputy mayor, Angela Maravento of the xenophobic Northern League, said she would start a hunger strike on a dinghy moored in the harbour on Saturday.

Interior minister Roberto Maroni said: “Joint patrols of the sea off the coast of Libya with the Libyans will begin shortly and this will put an end to this. We are expecting a much quieter August.

“Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was in Libya a few days ago and met with Colonel Gaddafi and agreed these patrols which will cut back on this phenomenon.”

Woman jailed for smuggling baby, UK so willing to help. But this time a gremlin got caught.

And her name is Peace?  What kinda silly sounding name is that. But then, these folks have a record of odd names.
Anyway, at least this one time the con didn’t work.  What’s scary is how many that have.
And pity the taxpayer.  You don’t think they’ll send the kid back where it belongs do ya?

Peace Sandberg had said she gave birth to the child
A Nigerian woman has been jailed for 26 months for bringing a child illegally into the UK. Peace Sandberg, who was living in the UK, went to Nigeria and bought a baby to become eligible for a council flat, Isleworth Court Court heard.

She was convicted last month of bringing a child illegally into the UK.

She was reported to police after she initially told council staff she had given birth to the boy, then changed her story to say he was adopted.

Sandberg had a daughter who was living with her in council accommodation in the borough of Ealing in west London.

With dual nationality - Nigerian and Swedish - she knew that as a European citizen working in the UK she would be eligible for a council flat because she had a child.

(ah yes. the old child ploy. something I mentioned in a post yesterday. Y’all come in, the ratepayer of the UK will take care of ya. Do Brits have an equivalent
for Y’all? )

But her daughter left the UK and moved to Sweden to live with her father, Sandberg’s ex-husband.

With her daughter’s departure Sandberg saw her hopes of a new home slipping away - which is when she hatched her plan to get a child.

At the end of 2006 she flew back to Nigeria.

She had already sent £150 which the police believe was payment for the baby boy.

She needed a visa to take him into the UK.

During the trial Andrea Charles, a visa officer at the British High Commission in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, described to the jury how a distraught Sandberg turned up with the baby.

There is a possibility this child will never know his true identity

She claimed she had given birth to him in Nigeria because she wanted him to qualify for a Nigerian passport.

Ms Charles said she had no reason to doubt her story and issued the visa.

When Sandberg arrived back at Heathrow airport she immediately went to the housing department.

Councillor Ian Green of Ealing Council says: “She told staff that the child was hers. But they had seen her only a few months before and knew that the child couldn’t be hers as she wasn’t pregnant at the time.

“She then changed her story and said she had adopted the child.

“Council officers were still not satisfied and alerted the police and the other authorities because they were of the opinion that she was using this child to gain council accommodation.”

A criminal investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police’s Paladin Team, specialists in child trafficking.

Isolated case?

Det Insp Gordon Valentine, who heads Paladin, said: “This was clearly a case of trafficking.

“Peace Sandberg is a heartless woman. She brought the baby from his home environment for the purpose of her own ends without any regard for the future of that child.”

Child protection campaigners believe this is not an isolated case. 

(duh ... be really blind,deaf and stupid if they did.)

Christine Beddoe, director of the children’s charity ECPAT UK, said: “We get information brought to us about suspicions of child trafficking particularly for housing benefit fraud from social services and from children’s organisations.

“They don’t seem to be reported to the police. But we do believe it is much more widespread than people think.”

Social services have been unable to find the child’s real family in Nigeria.

He is now in foster care and looks set to be adopted and grow up in the UK.

(oh bloody great. The UK really needs another one. but then, this is a rich country. Right? And what’s yours rate payer, well it’s theirs as well. )

Det Insp Valentine says: “There is a possibility this child will never know his true identity.”

Jobs Americans Won’t Do

Well, the rain has gone away and it’s one of the eight perfect Spring days we’re allocated here in New Jersey. Which means the siding crew is back to work again. We’ve got at least two dozen guy out here working on this building and the one next to it. Not one of them speaks a word of English, other than “hi!” and “no English!”. Immigrants have completely taken over the construction trades around here, along with all the rennovation and landscaping work. Good luck finding a painter who you can communicate with, other than the foreman. Are they legal? Who knows. The game is Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

This is not a small project. This is a $5,000,000 contract to reside all 33 buildings with their 438 units. Funny how no Americans want to do this kind of work anymore. And it’s not like these guys are out there breaking their asses. They’re working, sure, but not hard enough to break a sweat. Just like Americans.

Muslims ‘to outnumber traditional churchgoers’

The increasing influence of Islam on British culture is disclosed in research today that shows the number of Muslims worshipping at mosques in England and Wales will outstrip the numbers of Roman Catholics going to church in little more than a decade.

Projections show Muslims are to outstrip Catholic Sunday worshippers by 2020

Projections to be published next month estimate that, if trends continue, the number of Catholic worshippers at Sunday Mass will fall to 679,000 by 2020.

By that time, statisticians predict, the number of Muslims praying in mosques on Fridays will have increased to 683,000.

The Christian Research figures also suggest that, over the same period, the number of Muslims at mosques will overtake Church of England members at Sunday services.

Church spokesmen point out, however, that a growing number of Anglicans worship at other times of the week.

The projections show that, if the Churches do not reverse their historical decline, there will be more active Muslims than Christians in Sunday services across Britain before the middle of the century.

The figures, based on Government and academic sources and the latest edition of Christian Research’s Religious Trends, come amid growing tensions over the place of Muslims in British society.

They follow fierce rows over the extent to which Islamic law should be recognised and over claims that “no-go” areas for non-Muslims are emerging in parts of the country.

Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, provoked criticism by saying the introduction of some aspects of sharia into British society was “unavoidable”.

The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, faced death threats after writing in The Sunday Telegraph that Islamic extremism was turning some communities into “no-go” areas “where adherence to this ideology has become a mark of acceptability”.

Peter Brierley, a former Government statistician who edited the latest Religious Trends, said that the continuing growth of the Muslim population since the 2001 census would have significant implications for society.

It’s damn near impossible to follow that great post by Drew, which I’ve gone back to a couple times.
But this story really needs posting because ..... it has happened more then once.  It has happened right here where I live in a small Hampshire village and I am going to repost that story at the end of this.
This stuff is right out of Insp. Clousaeu and if I am not mistaken, one of you, maybe Drew, wrote a comment on it back in July of 07.
Wouldn’t you think someone might get a clue and learn?  Yeah, I know it’s serious stuff but .... this is so darn funny at the same time.  What?  The police or powers that be thought these folks, after the trouble they went to sneaking in, were simply gonna give up?

Immigrants vanish on unescorted train trip

Nine illegal immigrants disappeared after they were given free train tickets by police and told to make their own way to a detention centre more than 60 miles away.

The move was described as “ludicrous”, but police have defended their actions, saying they were acting on the advice of immigration authorities.

The men, who are from Afghanistan, were discovered by Cambridgeshire police under the back of a lorry in Fordham, near Newmarket.

They were apprehended by officers before being given train tickets and told by police to make their own way to an immigration facility in Croydon, Surrey.

But none of the men arrived at the centre and they have not been seen since.

Cambridgeshire police say they were acting under instruction from officials at the Border and Immigration Agency (BIA), a Home Office department.

But officials at the BIA denied such guidance was issued and insisted they had asked for the nine men to be held in custody so that they could be interviewed.

Det Insp Alan Savile, of Cambridgeshire police, said: “In matters of this nature the police are led by the UK Immigration Service which in turns follows Home
Office instruction.”

In a letter to James Paice, MP for South Cambridgeshire, who has taken the issue up with the Home Office, Det Insp Savile added: “In this instance the Immigration Service in St Ives was consulted and the decision taken to direct individuals to the immigration facility at Croydon, which is accepted practice.”

Mr Paice said: “If this is the action that the Immigration Service actually encourages it is hardly surprising that we have vast numbers of illegal immigrants in this country.

“Surely when they are apprehended, as in this case, they ought not to then be released into the community without any trace of where they may go.

“It is naive in the extreme to expect nine illegal immigrants found in Fordham to voluntarily report to a facility in Croydon.”

The men were found boarding a lorry owned by Turners, an established haulage company that has a base in Fordham, in February.

Staff who made the discovery immediately informed police, who arrived in a minibus and transported the immigrants to Cambridge train station.

The men were then given tickets and were instructed to make their way to Croydon where there is an asylum seeker screening unit and holding centre.

An Immigration Service spokesman said: “The police were advised to arrest them and hold them in custody so immigration officers could interview them and then take them into detention.

“The police advised they could not take the nine subjects into custody.

“It is not true that the Border and Immigration Agency advised the police to tell illegal immigrants in Cambridgeshire to make their own way to Croydon.”

THE scale of the influx of foreigners into Britain is breathtaking.

New official figures show that almost 800,000 work permits have been issued to Eastern Europeans alone in the past four years.

That is more than the population of Leeds. But it is nothing like the total extent of the influx. Several other major categories of incomer must be added to get a true idea of the volume of immigration experienced in recent years: self-employed Europeans, migrant workers from beyond the EU, asylum seekers, the extended families of established migrant groups and illegal immigrants.

Nobody knows how many immigrants have arrived since Labour came to power, but the grand total undoubtedly runs into millions.

There is barely a town or city in Britain that has not seen drastic changes to its population. The arrival of so many
people from overseas has undermined community cohesion and put massive pressure on public services.

Towns that were once tight-knit and neighbourly communities now play host to streets full of strangers babbling away in any number of foreign tongues.

And all the while the Left’s ludicrous notion of multiculturalism has encouraged newcomers to retain their own ways rather than learning English and fitting in. Where once we were a proud and coherent nation, now it is often hard for people to discern what there is left to be loyal to.

The biggest scandal is that all this has happened without the consent of the British public. In successive elections, Labour promised firm controls on immigration while smearing as racist all those who questioned its real intentions.

When the history books for this period come to be written they will surely record that Britain had a government that tried to abolish the nation. We must not let it succeed.

An anti-immigrant politician is making a meteoric rise with his call on the Dutch - once one of the most tolerant nations in the world - to stop Islam taking over Europe.

Geert Wilders, the 43-year-old leader of the Freedom Party, is convinced that governments are being forced to accommodate a ‘tsunami of Islamisation’ that is fundamentally incompatible with European social values.

“Islam itself is the problem. Islam is a violent religion,” he told The Daily Telegraph. “The Prophet Mohammed was a violent man. The Koran is mostly a violent book. We should invest in Muslim people but they have to first get rid of half the Koran and half of their beliefs,” he said.

The Freedom Party has jumped from six to 10 per cent in opinion polls since November. His passionate campaign for a ban on the Islamic veil, or burqa, in public places is gaining such momentum that the country’s new coalition government could be forced to introduce the ban it does not support.

On the burqa, Mr Wilders is adamant: “It is a medieval token of a barbaric time, of how not to treat women, even if they want to wear it themselves,” he argues.

Allowing Muslims to wear the burqa in the Netherlands, or to have segregated swimming sessions so as not to offend religious sensitivities, amounts to “religious apartheid” he says.

The new government coalition of mainstream centre right and left political parties had planned to ditch a decision by the previous government to ban the burqa in the Netherlands which now has a population of one million Muslims, six per cent of the total population. But, Mr Wilders crows, weekend opinion polls show 66 per cent of Dutch citizens support a ban.

The minority opposition leader who has won two previous votes for a ban on the burqa is convinced that support will be there for new legislation he will table in the spring as the Dutch become increasingly concerned over Muslim separatism.

Wilders is convinced there is growing support for his views across Europe but its political leaders, particularly in Britain, are too obsessed with being politically correct.

“There is almost no country more politically correct than the UK. Look at the terrible things that happened in London after Madrid, you have more reason than most to make this debate transparent and public,” he said.

Mr Wilders split from the Dutch liberals in September 2004 over their support for EU membership for Turkey.

Two months later he was living in fear after police arrested suspected terrorists, armed with grenades, accused of planning to kill him. The Dutch politician says he and his wife have received more than 600 death threats.

Mr Wilders, who is always surrounded by plain clothes police guards, said: “I lost my freedom and privacy because of my opposition to Islam.”

Children of foreign millionaire given £30,750 for court battle

Oh to be in England when it’s hand out time. Brits are the most generous ppl on earth.  Their ratepayers give and they give and they give.  And they would give even more but any monies left over are saved for illegal immigrants and those seeking asylum so they can make bomb in peace.

Millionaire jeweller Iqbal Mubarik and his wife Aaliya Mubarak could not even agree how to spell their surname so maybe it was no surprise when they divorced.
He was told to pay her almost £5million but, eight years on, he has given her just £266,000 and spent £2million on legal fees trying to hang on to his money.
Even more astonishing is that two of their four children have been given legal aid of £30,750 to defend their interests.

Taxpayers are funding lawyers for the public-school educated children of a millionaire who manages to avoid paying tax and only moved to England ten years ago.

Now haven’t I been tellin’ ya and for how long?  The taxpayer is loaded and there’s plenty more where this came from you betcha.

High Court Judge Sir James Holman, hearing the latest stage of this Bleak House-style legal saga, said the affair was “about as bad a case as it is possible to imagine”.
The judge added that using legal aid for the children was “exquisitely ironical” as their parents “although resident here for tax purposes and liable for English taxation, manage to avoid paying any tax at all”.
In contrast, cuts to the legal aid budget include last month’s ruling that families of soldiers killed in action could not have free legal representation at inquests.
The Mubarik v Mubarak saga began in 1998 when Mr Mubarik, 48, an owner of the Dianoor Group of shops which has an outlet on New Bond Street in London, separated from his wife, 47.

In 1999, he was ordered to pay her a lump sum of £4.875million.
He has since gone to court repeatedly to try to avoid paying.
And as the family’s interest in the Dianoor jewellers is governed by trusts and companies established in the tax havens of Jersey and Bermuda, it is extremely hard to track Mr Mubarik’s money down.  The couple, from India, have four children, aged nine to 22, and for a couple of years the jeweller paid £14,000 a month maintenance.
By May 2005, he was paying only school fees, forcing his wife, who lives in Kensington, West London, to take out loans.

Mr Mubarik, who lives in a £ 2million house in Central London, has claimed he is £2.3million in debt.
But early in the case, he and business colleague Mohammed Wani, 58, were caught presenting false evidence.
The court decided he was worth “numerous millions”, with figures as high as £30million mentioned.
Last year, High Court Judge Sir David Bodey said: “The husband and wife have fought the good fight with all their might at considerable expense.
“The overall costs toll is appalling. It could involve litigation in four or five other countries, as well as here.
“The combined total is unclear, but before long it seems set to head off towards the direction of the amount of the lump sum.”

Even in 2000, Lord Justice Thorpe said it was “little short of tragic folly seemingly intelligent and civilised people should think that is a responsible way to make use of the family justice system”.
By 2004, he was describing the case as “insane”.
Aside from monthly maintenance paid in lieu of interest, Mrs Mubarak has managed to squeeze only £266,000 out of her ex-husband through enforcing the sale of property.  He now owes her about £7million, including legal costs and arrears.

The soaring bill for legal aid has risen to £620million a year for civil cases and £1.2billion for criminal.
Primarily, legal aid is supposed to be directed at people on benefits, or pensioners with an income of less than £289 a month.
A spokesman for the Legal Services Commission said a rule change in April meant similar legal aid payouts were unlikely as the capital and income of parents is now included in assessments.

I received something in today’s mail of some interest.

It was my absentee ballot from home. (USA)

Someone once told me that the first person to use the F-word in a debate automatically loses the argument.

You guys have no idea how hard it is for me not to lose it and fly off the handle.  But I’m thinking it. Oh boy ...

I really am bothered by the fact that my ballot is also printed in another language.  WHY?  Damn it!

Hey ... if people can’t read and understand the language of my country, why do they have the right to vote?

Just because they pay taxes?  Maybe? 

My grandfather came to America around 1903 from Eastern Europe and always said when asked about his birth date that he was born in 1903.

He came to the USA already speaking English because he knew damn well nobody was going to hand him anything for free.

Becoming an American citizen with the right to vote was for him an undreamed of privilege.  And he could read and write English too.

The mere sight of the Stars and Stripes on parade during the 4th of July brought tears to his eyes.  He never felt that he repaid the USA enuff
in exchange for what it had given him.  And it wasn’t official documents in his native language I’ll tell ya that.

He didn’t have much patience for people who complained about paying taxes either, telling them to go live where he came from first.  Then come back to the USA and gripe.  But not to him.  Like most immigrants of his ethnic group and generation, economics played a smaller role in his reasons for becoming an American.  It wasn’t all roses to be sure.  But he was given a fair opportunity to sink or swim. 

OK look, I might be off base here.  Times have changed a lot and most folks come to the USA and the UK I believe, less due to racial persecution

then they do for the opportunity to better themselves economically.  I don’t even have a problem with that.

But for gosh sake ..... LEARN THE EFFIN DAMN LANGUAGE !

A Picket Fence Instead

The 2006 Secure Fence Act specifically called for “two layers of reinforced fencing” and listed five specific sections of border where it should be installed.  When congress passed their spending bill last night, how do you think it came out?

Congress last night passed a giant new spending bill that undermines current plans for a U.S.-Mexico border fence, allowing the Homeland Security Department to build a single-tier barrier rather than the two-tier version that has worked in California.

The spending bill, written by Democrats and passed 253-154 with mostly their votes, surrenders to President Bush’s budget demands, meeting his spending limit with a $515 billion bill to fund most of the federal government and setting up votes to pay for the Iraq war. But Democrats reached his goal in part by slashing his defense and foreign-aid priorities to pay for added domestic spending.

I don’t mind slashing some foreign aid, but defense cuts and domestic spending increases?  Good grief, if we don’t secure the border, there won’t be anything domestic to spend it on.
