French mayor blames Britain’s benefits system for immigrant problem. Does this mean war ?
Ya know for once I think the French may be quite right. And I bet a lot of Brits will agree.
This island will one day sink under the weight. If they don’t bankrupt themselves first. Not funny at all.
The mayor of Calais has blamed Britain’s asylum and benefits system for “imposing” thousands of illegal migrants on her town.
By Peter Allen in Paris
Last Updated: 11:34AM BST 20 Apr 2009In an angry attack in which she also called for millions in compensation, Natacha Bouchart said the UK was entirely to blame for the hordes of foreigners who use the French port as a staging point to get across the Channel.
Mrs Bouchart, who is a member of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s ruling UMP party, said she was so disgusted by what was going on that she had refused to have any meetings with British government representatives.
Mrs Bouchart pointed out that the Calais Chamber of Trade was having to spend £12 million each year securing the port area – money she suggested the French government should pay back.
But it was Britain’s immigration system which was predominantly to blame for thousands of Africans, eastern Europeans and people from central Asia trying to clamber aboard lorries and trains in Calais to get to the UK every day.
“Requesting asylum is easier with them (the British) than in France,” said Mrs Bouchart.
“The asylum seeker is given accommodation and receives £31 to £40 a week according to their case, when the annual salary of the average Eritrean is around $200 (£136).“That seems enormous and it’s attractive, even if in some places it’s nothing.”
Calling for a “change in attitude”, Mrs Bouchart said the current build up of UK-bound foreigners was untenable.
She said the fact that Britain had not signed up to the Schengen agreement – which allows people in Europe to travel from one country to another without a passport – made life very easy for the UK.Although Britain has signed the Dublin Convention, which streamlined the application process for political asylum, France still had a duty to try and keep illegal migrants out of the UK.
Mrs Bouchart, who made her comments at a Calais press conference, said: “The British signed the Dublin accords but did not ratify Schengen. That places them in an easy situation.“Calais is a hostage to the British. That’s enough. It’s no longer tenable. It’s necessary to renegotiate these accords. We’re not here to do their job.”
She also referred to the shutting of the Sangatte refugee centre near Calais, which has acted as a magnet to thousands of illegal migrants before being shut as part of an Anglo-French agreement in 2002.
“Shutting the Red Cross Centre at Sangatte and the accords which followed were a good thing. But the situation has evolved. It is necessary to review the accords,” said Mrs Bouchart.French immigration minister Eric Besson is due to outline new policies for dealing with the worsening situation in Calais.
Some 2,000 UK-bound migrants are currently sleeping rough in the area, with around 800 in the town itself.
Mrs Bouchart has written to both Mr Sarkozy and Mr Besson – who visited Calais in January – calling for compensation in the name of “national solidarity” for the town’s plight. She said: “Each day the town of Calais finds itself under psychological pressure because of the presence of the migrants.
“That blocks our economic development. That stops some businesses from establishing themselves and that costs a lot.” Mrs Bouchart added: “The Minister Besson said he would return here at the end of April. But since his first visit the situation has changed.“If the migrants number 300 or 350 the situation is manageable. More than that and it becomes risky for the migrants themselves, the charities, the population, and businesses.
“Today there are 800 who can be seen in Calais itself, and that’s unacceptable. Each day I receive letters and calls from residents and businesses who complain about the situation.”

You folks especially in border states who have immigration issues can think yourselves s bit lucky. Believe me. Of course, much of the problem is somewhat self inflicted. Hand wringing lefties and those who aren’t but whose hearts are overly soft just will not do enough. Whenever a politician or anyone else for that matter says hey ... we need to curb or halt immigration .... the awful ‘R’ word is paraded out and that seem to end (for the moment) any discussion on the subject. Naturally I have the answer ... any surprise there?
If enough Brits get together and decide to save their country from any other invasions aside from the one that’s internal, and I have the answer for that too, then this country HAS to become a very DANGEROUS place to try and sneak into into. It just does. Things here have really and truly gotten to the point where it will not be long before there might not Always Be An England. And if that happens, who will the French blame for their problems? Germans too come to that. Not to worry ... for awhile at least there’ll be America to blame .
Last time I was in Calais must have been 20 years ago. Perhaps more. Things sure have not changed for the better. Except for immigrants legal and otherwise.

IN THE NEW ,,,ASYLUM SEEKERS SET FIRE TO THEIR OWN BOAT. INNOCENTS AMONG THE INJURED.
Why of course some were injured. These vermin don’t care.
Honestly I am very sorry the whole boatload of sub-human life forms didn’t drown. Now they become the financial burden of...?
Asylum seekers ‘set fire to boat causing deadly explosion’ off Australia
Asylum seekers deliberately doused their boat in petrol causing an explosion that killed five people and injured 51, according to claims by an Australian politician.
By Bonnie Malkin in Sydney
Last Updated: 9:03AM BST 16 Apr 2009The boat, believed to be carrying asylum seekers from Afghanistan, was being escorted to a detention centre by the navy when the blast occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, about 520 miles off of Darwin.
The vessel quickly sank, and all survivors were transferred to two navy ships. Authorities confirmed three passengers had died and two were missing. Four Australian defence force personnel were among the injured.
The navy, police and ambulance service were coordinating attempts to airlift those most seriously injured to hospitals in Darwin and Broome.
Colin Barnett, the Liberal premier of the state of West Australia, claimed the incident took place after a deliberate attempt by passengers to sabotage their boat.
“The refugees spread petrol their boat, the vessel they were on,” he said.
“Whether they ignited it or it just ignited is unknown at this stage. But clearly that caused a major explosion, not only injuring refugees but it’s a great concern that four defence personnel also (received) significant injuries to them during this incident.”
The Australian government has refused to confirm his claims, although Bob Debus, the home affairs minister, did concede it was “a clear possibility”.
“We are not in the position to finally confirm whether that is so or not,” he said, speaking at a heated press conference.
“There is much speculation and if the premier of Western Australia chooses to speculate without having the kind of evidence that we think to be necessary to draw a final conclusion, that is up to him.”
Royal Australian Navy Rear Admiral Alan Du Toit said there were 49 suspected asylum seekers and crew on board the boat as well as a few Australian military personnel at the time of the explosion. He said the boat was not being refuelled at the time.
The small vessel was intercepted by the navy on Wednesday in the Indian Ocean and was under escort to the remote Australian territory of Christmas Island, where the government processes refugee applicants, when the blast took place near the engine compartment.
The increase in boat numbers has sparked debate in Australia over whether an easing of strict immigration regulations last year has emboldened people smugglers and would-be refugees.
The boat was the third carrying suspected asylum seekers to illegally enter Australian waters in the past two weeks and the sixth this year.
Immigration policy has long been a sensitive issue in Australia.
In the lead up to an election in 2001 the Liberal government, led by John Howard, falsely claimed that asylum seekers had thrown children overboard in a presumed ploy to secure rescue and passage to Australia.
The Children Overboard affair, as it became known, was widely credited with winning the party re-election.
I did wonder how the libs. got elected there. Guess now I know. Was a time they were pretty hard nosed about immigration. But now with the liberal govt. well .... who knows. They spend enough time apologizing to the aborigines.
Hey .. none of our business right? Just reporting the story.

What’s Your Solution?
I got an email asking what my solution for the illegal alien problem would be. Instead of an email response, I posted it. It may not be perfect, but it will be a start. I’m more than willing to hear your alternate solutions, but they need to be SOLUTIONS. And machine gunning 23 million people is not an acceptable one. So think hard, then argue and suggest. Consider this a big open thread, as long as it’s talking about the illegal alien situation.
From my email:
I have a silly question to ask. (and you knew I probably would, but I am interested in the answer, since I doubt anyone has bothered to fully think this out enough)
Being that just about everybody realizes we have a serious problem with illegal aliens in this country, what exactly would YOU do with the ones we currently have here?
Well, off the cuff, here it goes:
a) build a special prison for the illegals who are committing crimes. Or at least add some “deport” tag to their file, so that when they have served their time they get kicked out. We transport them back to southern Mexico, not give them a push over the Texas border.
b) the government already knows where every single one of these people is. Please. You know they do. They know what you had for lunch. Put a law into place that any business will be fined $10,000 per person per week for knowingly employing non-citizens who do not have H1-B papers. Put in a multi-point accessable database containing all SSNs of citizens. Heck, this database already exists, but proof it and purge it first. Send every business owner a registered letter with a unique password. Instruct them to put together a list, with SSNs. Enter your employer ID number, which the government already has, and knows whether you are a sole propreitorship or a corporation or whatever. Enter the list. What comes back is the people with bad SSNs. The employer must verify those people’s name, address, etc. Resend the ones who popped up after verification. Those that fail again are flagged, and the INS pays them a visit. At first the fines against the employers will be token; $10,000 for the whole crop of illegals, regardless of how long they’ve been there. After that, it goes per person per diem. You may have to have agents stand outside the factory gates with list in hand, just in case the employers decide to “forget” to mention some folks.
c) Known abusers will be raided on a regular basis. This includes the meat packers, the fruit pickers, and the entire construction industry. And every restaurant, hotel, and hospital in the country. Round them up and deport them. Period.
d) extreme pressure needs to be brought to bear on the SCOTUS to reinterpret the “anchor baby” thing. No citizenship if your parents are here illegally. Period. And no more of this extended family bullshit. Anyone legally here is legally here, but that does not give them the extra right to bring over granny, uncle Pedro, second cousin twice removed Juan, great neice Carlotta, etc. Screw that.
e) examine and establish a reasonable quota of legal immigration. Throw out Teddy Kennedy’s 1963 idiotic act. We want the world’s best, screw the rest. You want to come here, then show us your qualifications, and be disease free. Then we’ll let you join the line. We have quite enough unskilled labor of our own, thanks. Maybe lettuce will have to be picked by prisoners for a couple years, but they will be paid minimum wage.
f) citizenship is checked at hospitals. Treatment is not denied, but INS is called.
Yes, people are going to freak. They will use the “jews going to Auschwitz” meme when my trainloads full of guarded illegals start heading south. Too bad. And with a fascist in the White House, this kind of thing can be done. Fascism/Socialism has an advantage here. So use it. Obama’s Volunteer Corps needs to be turned into INS-Plus.
The media admits that 12-20 million people are in this country illegally. We have a population of 300 million. If I had to bet, I would say the real numbers of illegals number 30 million or more. 10-15% of the entire population. Maybe as high as 25%. Because we overlook the Chinese problem - yet a large number of the people making your General Tso Chicken to go are illegals. We turn our eyes away from the Brazilian / Portuguese problem - yet who do you think is catching the fish you eat? NY and Boston are crawling with illegals from Ireland. Who can tell? They don’t stand out in a crowd of white folks, but they shouldn’t be here either. Every single Rosa vacuuming rugs in a hotel is an illegal. Nearly guaranteed.
As for asylum, that needs to be granted very carefully. Maybe refugees should get a 5 year renewable pass, but if they don’t check in every month, INS hunts them down and they get the boot.
We have to make tough choices. And the people on the illegal end are going to get hurt. Some will die. Some will be sent home to die. That’s unfortunate. But they should not be here in the first place.Once the word is out that the Purge Is On, millions more illegals will leave of their own accord. Let’s not forget that they are invaders, and heads on spikes is the treatment that invaders can expect. So just sending them home is the nice way. Heck, I’ll even give them a backpack full of food, 5 gallons of good water, spare socks and underpants, a sleeping bag, and a little tent.
To the argument that ... maybe we should keep X million? ... I say no. We already did that under Reagan. Let’s not do it again.
To the other argument that ... these poor people are only doing the jobs Americans won’t do ... I say bullshit. Believe me, I know. Because I’m the American cleaning windows and scrubbing toilets to get by. But I’m doing that for a good wage, not for half a peanut.
Gosh Drew, are you going to require regular Americans to prove their citizenship on a regular basis? At restaurants, ballgames, whenever they use a credit card? Maybe so. For 4 - 5 years it might be necessary. Swipe your ATM card, and the cashier gets a picture of you on her little screen. It had better match up. The technology is already there, and you know damn well both the federal and the state government have your picture if you are 18 or over. The only time this record is saved is when things don’t match.
In the long run, this will also purge us of all identity theft, save welfare and health care billions, and reduce crime by a huge amount. So do it. In the short run, just making the announcement that such a plan is going into place will cause millions of illegals to flee the country.
UPDATE: Today I’m wondering if my ideas were too severe. Maybe we should first just ask them to leave? Because I don’t think we’ve tried that one. Let’s start with that, then escalate the pressure one turn of the screw at a time. But turn the screws fully inside of 18 months, not 100 years.
We also need to attack some of the root issues. The idea that everyone in America should go to college and then get a job in an office has to be put aside. Many people are not college material. Many jobs exist that don’t require college, but can pay very well. We have to reject the idea that hard physical labor has no dignity. We need to stop sending jobs oversees just to save a few dollars. We need to stop buying cut-rate crap from China because it costs a couple pennies less. Be American, Buy American, Hire American. Even in this current recession there would be ZERO unemployment if out of work citizens did the jobs that illegals now do. But no, they wouldn’t be making the big bucks being a fry cook. And they’d have to learn some new skills ... because very little of what we think of as “unskilled labor” is actually unskilled. Granted, some of those skills are minimal, like knowing that you should cut the lettuce off at the ground, and not in the middle of the head.
We need to rethink the Great Welfare Society idea so that the working poor can still get some help, and wind up living far better than those who just collect a check. Taper off benefits as your income goes up. In my state, even somebody earning $35,000 a year could still use some help, but not a whole lot. $150/month in food stamps or something.
We’ve already gold plated the education system with tax money. It has not worked. What comes out the other end is generations of under achievers who think they deserve to walk into $45/hr jobs and get a big pat on the back every 90 minutes just for showing up.
We need to rebuild the work ethic, and we need to rebuild nationalism. And we need more secure borders. Unfortunately, I think we also need a decade or two of the British game of “rat them out” to purge our country, along with an active government that takes their ratting duties seriously. Task Force Terrier, or something like that.
Cut the business tax rate to zero. Nada. Capital Gains are just another kind of income. No more death tax. I’m all for giving Flat Tax a 10 year try. We need to encourage people to work, and we need to encourage people to succeed. So stop taxing the shit out of those who have made a successful effort. Stop hating on the rich, because almost anybody can become rich in America.
I would also suggest that we foment a revolution in Mexico. Topple their corrupt government and microscopic ruling class that owns everything. Then, if we absolutely have to have outsourced production, we can build all sorts of factories and depend on them. Why go to China for everything when Mexico is right there? Right now the answer is that we can depend on the chi-coms more than we can on the Mexicans. That’s a really sad state of affairs. Mexico needs to grow up; they have to get past the 500 year old Spaniard Problem. 70 years ago they stole nationalized the US owned oil infrastructure. Did you know that that theft is still a national holiday? That’s the wrong environment for doing business. The same thing goes for our island neighbors to the south. Without the Castros Cuba could be a huge producer. This isn’t exploitation, but opportunity. But there has to be a government there that we can depend on, or else nobody in their right mind is going to front them the necessary capital investment. We already have the technology to make most production fairly “green”. So we wouldn’t be raping the islands of our Caribbean neighbors by bringing jobs to them. Let’s get past that. But those island nations have to have the work ethic, and they have to have a stable mature government. Right now many of them have neither.

Under this rule, even Osama Bin Laden is British. (A BMEWS MUST READ. REALLY!)
RICHARD LITTLEJOHN is a columnist with The Daily Mail here in England.
I think he’s perhaps one of the best, most logical and clear thinking conservative writers around.
I really admire and appreciate good word smiths. Even if one happens to be on the left. But I’m especially happy when the best are found in the conservative camp.
There is a very serious problem this country faces, and the left wing powers that be along with the european weenies of the eu are helping to make it worse. But here. I’ll let Mr. Littlejohn tell you about it. Even an American not living here has to wonder about what this country is doing to itself.
Maybe the people here didn’t realize exactly what they were getting themselves into when they voted Labour in 1997. But they should have.
But then, Blair was a damn good salesman and the thing he sold the very best was .... Blair.
It’s my personal belief that the Labour party is destroying this country. Even scarier is I am not certain the Tories can save it even if they win the next election.
Stay Tuned.
Under this rule, even Osama Bin Laden is British
Last updated at 8:27 AM on 20th February 2009
Some years ago, in the wake of the Afghan hijack fiasco at Stansted, I invented a spoof game show called ‘Asylum!’
Anyone could play, provided they had no links to Britain. International terrorists were especially welcome.
All you had to do to win was find your way here and remember the magic word ‘asylum’. Prizes included a council house, lavish benefits and lashings of Legal Aid.
It was supposed to be a joke but, as always, was based on fact. I can remember writing that none of the hijackers would be deported and they’d all end up living here permanently, courtesy of the mug British taxpayer.
That’s exactly what happened. The Afghans took their place among a motley crew of foreign undesirables granted refuge in Britain. Top of the list was Abu Qatada, described as Osama Bin Laden’s European ambassador.
![]()
He’s been shacked up in West London since 1993, when he arrived from his native Jordan on a false passport. Since then he’s cost us £50,000 a year in benefit payments and more than £1.5million in lawyers’ fees.
After 9/11, the Government woke up to the enemy within. Tony Blair announced that ‘the game has changed’. No longer would we play host to Islamist headbangers, dedicated to our destruction.
Britain’s reputation as a soft touch was over. The preachers of hate were to be rounded up and kicked out, we were promised.
Blair knew perfectly well that was never going to happen, thanks to Labour’s embrace of the European ‘yuman rites’ act, which he once called his proudest achievement in politics.
And despite a raft of grandstanding ‘ anti-terror’ measures, Qatada is still here, along with a roll call of psychopaths from across the globe.
This week, after a drawn-out legal battle, the Law Lords ruled finally that Qatada could be returned to Jordan, where he has been convicted in absentia of terrorism offences.
But that won’t happen any time soon, either. The appeals process isn’t exhausted by any means, and will drag on for years, fuelled by a bottomless well of Legal Aid.
To add insult to injury, a panel of European judges has awarded Qatada £2,500 in damages for the brief period he spent in Belmarsh prison after 9/11.
Another ten foreign terror suspects held at the same time also received payouts ranging from £1,500 to £3,400 each.
![]()
‘YA’ KNOW, I SOMETIMES WONDER WHY I’M HIDING IN THIS SMELLY CAVE WHEN I COULD BE CLAIMING MY HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE UK.’
They include a variety of north Africans with links to Al Qaeda and other terror groups. Most, like Qatada, entered on false passports. They should have been deported instantly.
Even after they were jailed as a threat to national security, they were all free to leave the country voluntarily at any time. They chose to remain in prison and fight expulsion through the courts. Eventually, they were released under ‘control orders’.
And until Britain repeals the pernicious ‘yuman rites’ act, here they’ll stay, indefinitely.
The ‘rights’ of foreign terrorists will continue to trump the rights of law-abiding British citizens, who will be forced to carry on picking up the bill for their expensive lawyers and welfare benefits.
We’re not even allowed ‘for legal reasons’ to know the names of eight of the men we have been ordered to pay compensation. So who should we make out the cheque to, then? There is no end to this lunacy. Binyam Mohammed is an Ethiopian citizen who was granted leave to live in Britain. In 2001, he decided he’d rather live in Afghanistan.
Shortly after 9/11, he was arrested at Karachi airport carrying a false passport, trying to board a plane for London. He ended up at Guantanamo Bay and claims to have been tortured.
Britain is now moving heaven and earth to bring him ‘home’. Yet he hasn’t lived here for eight years and left of his own free will. By no stretch of the imagination is he a British ‘resident’, let alone a British citizen.
We’ve got enough problems with foreign terrorists, not to mention home-grown headbangers, without working ourselves into a lather over the fate of an Ethiopian who was resident in Afghanistan when he was arrested in Pakistan.
In the case of Binyam Mohammed, what we’re looking at is extraordinary rendition in reverse. Instead of flying terror suspects abroad to be tortured, we’re flying them here to be pampered.
Taken to its logical conclusion, the definition of British ‘resident’ should apply to Osama Bin Laden. After all, he lived in London for a few years before moving to Afghanistan. Maybe we should offer to bring him ‘home’, too.
And if Bin Laden was discovered living above a kebab shop in Finsbury Park, he’d be granted indefinite leave to stay, showered with benefits and given access to the best ‘yuman rites’ lawyers taxpayers’ money could buy.
If we can’t even deport Abu Qatada, because he wouldn’t face a fair trial, what chance would we stand with Bin Laden?
Welcome to London, twinned with the Hotel California. You can check in any time you like - but you can never leave.

The upside of the downside
Don’t you believe it until you see it. Until you stop hearing “for English, press 1” on the phone menus. Otherwise it’s BS. But for now, CNN wants to point out that it could be happening. And probably wants you to feel sorry for them too. Not me. Not one iota.
Hey Obama! Want real stimulus? Hire 2 million unemployed verified American Citizens at $20/hr as Border Patrol Deputies, and start rounding up the illegals. And throw them out. No anchor babies, no nada. And it sure as hell can be done, and quickly too. Fill up the trains and drive them to the border. Empty. Repeat. 10 million illegals could be deported inside 3 months. Then all the jobs that they were doing are now available for unemployed Americans to do. Those that aren’t now guarding the border that is. Market forces will very quickly set a fair wage point for the jobs that they had been doing. And if that causes some businesses to collapse ... well tough shit. Any business plan that requires a labor force paid below market to survive is a failed plan. Get 20 million illegals out of the US and we suddenly have 0% unemployment. And our health care costs just dropped 25%. Secure the borders and the drug trade dries up right quick too.
2 million people working at $20/hour is $1.6 billion per week. $83.2 billion per year. Call it a 4 year contract, and you’ve spent $333.8 billion, rebuilt the lower middle class, and provided more than 10 million jobs for the working poor.
Mass starvation in Mexico? Not my country’s problem.
Meanwhile, back at CNN:
Bad economy forcing immigrants to reconsider U.S.
Pedro Pablo slowly folds up his American flag blanket and stuffs it in his duffel bag. With it goes his American dream.
“I left my family and lost four years with them. I will ask them to forgive me,” he said.
Pablo is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala who came to the United States to support his wife and five sons back home. When he arrived, construction jobs were plentiful. Over the last year, he says, he’s worked three days.
He recently boarded a bus with a one-way ticket home, paid for by the Guatemalan consulate in Los Angeles. “I thought I could get ahead here. I regret coming.”
Across the United States, tens of thousands of immigrants—those here legally and illegally—are facing a similar dilemma: Do they continue to search for jobs in a struggling U.S. economy or return home to an even bleaker economic situation?
Hey, it’s them or us. Period. And they’re breaking the law being here, and they’ve been draining the system dry for decades. Are you ready to face the real reality of global depression? It should be obvious. Poor people are going to die. All over the world. By the millions. Those who can live off the land will survive. Those who are living off of the government will die. Period. That’s an ugly thing to face, but it’s the truth. We’re the country having fewer and fewer children to make ends meet. Pedro has 5 kids already. Probably 7 by the time he gets home.

SEND US YOUR NEEDY AND GREEDY: IMMIGRANTS GUIDE TO FLEECING ‘SOFT’ BRITAIN.
NO, THE BRIT ON THE STREET DOESN’T LIKE IT. YEAH, PPL COMPLAIN BUT ARE ANSWERED IN PLATITUDES AS THE RIP OFF CONTINUES. AND NOT JUST THE POLES BY ANY MEANS.
Polish immigrants’ guide to fleecing ‘soft’ Britain
It shows how to avoid electricity bills and tax, rent flats for free and con insurance companies.
The scams, published in Polish magazine Przeglad, are revealed by Polish workers already living in Britain.
One man, quoted as a Polish criminal expert, said that cheating the system had became a way of life under decades of Communist rule.
“Once you’ve cheated the Communist government and the Iron Curtain and the Soviet states, running rings around British Gas is child’s play,” he explained.
A worker called Tomek suggested opening electricity and gas accounts with bogus personal details. He said: “How can I pay bills that aren’t addressed to me? The accounting system in England is based on trust, that’s why you can phone and give them data plucked out of thin air.”
Another man recommends renting a house in a made-up name, then immediately stopping rent payments because tenancy laws mean it will be months before they are evicted. In the meantime the property is sublet to dozens of others.
Expensive mobile phones are insured and then reported “stolen”. Once the insurers pay out, the cheats pocket the cash and sell the “stolen” phone back home in Poland for a £100 profit.
Another man tells how he never pays for a television licence, electricity or gas bills - but boasts that he has never been cut off.
“In Poland it would be unheard of - they would have cut everything off long ago,” he said. “And you’d have to be an idiot to register the TV.”
A guide to exploiting “soft” British laws has been published for Poles emigrating to the UK.

IMMIGRATION ANYONE?
with h/t to barb for sending me this and Drew who told me where the embed was. Missed it cause it looked greyed out. Anyway, some of you folks may have seen this already. For those who haven’t, watch it .... and boy oh boy do the Brits know about this sort of thing.
The quality isn’t perfect but the sound is all ya need.
The following comment is from Drew
A local hospital has forced itself into bankruptcy because they were bleeding money from all the illegals using the place. They might re-open as a private special treatment center, but as a hospital they’re gone. They will also open a non-emergency emergency room, ie a clinic, for all the pore, starvin, and illegals.

Woman jailed for smuggling baby, UK so willing to help. But this time a gremlin got caught.
And her name is Peace? What kinda silly sounding name is that. But then, these folks have a record of odd names.
Anyway, at least this one time the con didn’t work. What’s scary is how many that have.
And pity the taxpayer. You don’t think they’ll send the kid back where it belongs do ya?

Peace Sandberg had said she gave birth to the child
A Nigerian woman has been jailed for 26 months for bringing a child illegally into the UK. Peace Sandberg, who was living in the UK, went to Nigeria and bought a baby to become eligible for a council flat, Isleworth Court Court heard. She was convicted last month of bringing a child illegally into the UK.
She was reported to police after she initially told council staff she had given birth to the boy, then changed her story to say he was adopted.
Sandberg had a daughter who was living with her in council accommodation in the borough of Ealing in west London.
With dual nationality - Nigerian and Swedish - she knew that as a European citizen working in the UK she would be eligible for a council flat because she had a child.
(ah yes. the old child ploy. something I mentioned in a post yesterday. Y’all come in, the ratepayer of the UK will take care of ya. Do Brits have an equivalent
for Y’all? )But her daughter left the UK and moved to Sweden to live with her father, Sandberg’s ex-husband.
With her daughter’s departure Sandberg saw her hopes of a new home slipping away - which is when she hatched her plan to get a child.
At the end of 2006 she flew back to Nigeria.
She had already sent £150 which the police believe was payment for the baby boy.
She needed a visa to take him into the UK.
During the trial Andrea Charles, a visa officer at the British High Commission in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, described to the jury how a distraught Sandberg turned up with the baby.
There is a possibility this child will never know his true identity
She claimed she had given birth to him in Nigeria because she wanted him to qualify for a Nigerian passport.
Ms Charles said she had no reason to doubt her story and issued the visa.
When Sandberg arrived back at Heathrow airport she immediately went to the housing department.
Councillor Ian Green of Ealing Council says: “She told staff that the child was hers. But they had seen her only a few months before and knew that the child couldn’t be hers as she wasn’t pregnant at the time.
“She then changed her story and said she had adopted the child.
“Council officers were still not satisfied and alerted the police and the other authorities because they were of the opinion that she was using this child to gain council accommodation.”
A criminal investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police’s Paladin Team, specialists in child trafficking.
Isolated case?
Det Insp Gordon Valentine, who heads Paladin, said: “This was clearly a case of trafficking.
“Peace Sandberg is a heartless woman. She brought the baby from his home environment for the purpose of her own ends without any regard for the future of that child.”
Child protection campaigners believe this is not an isolated case.
(duh ... be really blind, deaf and stupid if they did.)Christine Beddoe, director of the children’s charity ECPAT UK, said: “We get information brought to us about suspicions of child trafficking particularly for housing benefit fraud from social services and from children’s organisations.
“They don’t seem to be reported to the police. But we do believe it is much more widespread than people think.”
Social services have been unable to find the child’s real family in Nigeria.
He is now in foster care and looks set to be adopted and grow up in the UK.
(oh bloody great. The UK really needs another one. but then, this is a rich country. Right? And what’s yours rate payer, well it’s theirs as well. )
Det Insp Valentine says: “There is a possibility this child will never know his true identity.”

Jobs Americans Won’t Do
O.K. by me in America!
Ev’rything free in America
For a small fee in America!
Well, the rain has gone away and it’s one of the eight perfect Spring days we’re allocated here in New Jersey. Which means the siding crew is back to work again. We’ve got at least two dozen guy out here working on this building and the one next to it. Not one of them speaks a word of English, other than “hi!” and “no English!”. Immigrants have completely taken over the construction trades around here, along with all the rennovation and landscaping work. Good luck finding a painter who you can communicate with, other than the foreman. Are they legal? Who knows. The game is Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
This is not a small project. This is a $5,000,000 contract to reside all 33 buildings with their 438 units. Funny how no Americans want to do this kind of work anymore. And it’s not like these guys are out there breaking their asses. They’re working, sure, but not hard enough to break a sweat. Just like Americans.
Comfort is yours in America!
Knobs on the doors in America,
Wall-to-wall floors in America!

NCCC flip flops
Not much of a news story, but it’s One Small Step for North Carolina Community College, One Giant Leap for America. Oh, I hope so.
North Carolina’s community colleges will no longer admit illegal immigrants, returning to more restrictive policy on the advice of the state Attorney General’s Office.
Last year, the system said it would enroll illegal immigrants who are 18 years old and high school graduates at all of its 58 campuses. The policy provoked heavy criticism, especially from the leading candidates for governor.
The system later asked North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper for guidance on whether the admissions policy was legal under federal law. Last week, Cooper’s office suggested the system drop the admissions policy.
On Tuesday, the community colleges said it would follow the advice from Cooper’s office.
Expect the protest rallies to being tomorrow. Quick, somebody make up some “usted no puede” banners, ASAP!

Another Chicken Shit Raid By ICE
{a note for non-American readers: Chicken Shit is a crass American term for something unimportant yet annoying, mired in excessive detail and rules. It’s the government in action, giving you a lecture about using lead-free paint on your house while it burns to the ground.}
MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (AP)—Federal agents say their case for a series of workplace raids in five states was strengthened by identity theft victims who recounted stories of plummeting credit scores and medical benefits denied.
Federal authorities carried out the sweeps Wednesday, arresting hundreds of workers at Pilgrim’s Pride chicken plants on charges of identity theft, document fraud and immigration violations.
Authorities also arrested dozens of workers at a doughnut factory in Houston, and the operators of a chain of Mexican restaurants in upstate New York. Authorities said agents investigating a scheme to provide documents for illegal immigrant workers had tracked down several of the identity theft victims.
...
Pittsburg, Texas-based Pilgrim’s Pride worked with ICE agents ahead of the operation, company spokesman Ray Atkinson said. It also reported suspicion of identity theft at an Arkansas plant.
More than 100 people were arrested on immigration violations in Chattanooga, Tenn., and they could face criminal charges related to identity theft, the agency said. Another 100 were arrested on immigration charges in Moorefield, W.Va.
More than 25 people face immigration violation charges in Live Oak, Fla. They will also face identity theft or document fraud charges, ICE said. More than 20 were arrested in Batesville, Ark., on federal warrants for alleged document fraud or identity theft.
Yep, “we’re all connected”. Raids in Texas, New York, Tennessee, West Virginia, Florida, Arkansas. So what will it be this time ICE? Another Catch ‘n Release, as if you’re out flyfishing for trout? Or are you actually going to charge these people this time, then let them out on really low bail so that they skip town? Hey, maybe they’ll just get drunk first and drive away. I hear there’s a school bus or two down thataway ...
It isn’t even an “open secret” that the poultry plants run on illegal labor. It’s blatant. And what does the government do? Nada thing. These are BS raids. Sure, the charges are real, but they won’t go anywhere, because 1) the perps are using false names, duh, and will skip on bail, and 2) ICE is just going through the motions. They’ve done their “good deed” for the quarter, and now they’ll slink back to their little cubicles again. If any of these illegals actually do get deported, it’s almost a guarantee that they’ll be dropped off at the special Revolving Door Border Crossing and they’ll all be right back working at the same chicken plants inside a month, using a different false/stolen ID.
The only thing newsy in this story isn’t even in the story: which politician is going to try and claim credit for it?

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
