EDUCATION, IMMIGRATION, STUDENT VISA SCAMS. WHAT NEXT? HOW ABOUT A FIRE SALE?
It wasn’t long after I arrived on these shores that I discovered and was vocal about, what I perceived to be the giving away of this country. It wasn’t rocket science or a great mental leap of any kind. It was just obvious. I suggested to some friends here that if Brits were in so big a hurry to give away their country, and it seemed to be that way, then why drag things out? Why not just put the country up for sale on eBay and be done with it quickly.
The town where pupils speak 150 different languagesBy Daily Mail Reporter
Schools in just one town are having to cope with pupils who speak 150 different languages, a survey has found. They range from the Ghanaian dialect of Akan, through the African language of Chichewa and the ancient Aztec tongue of Nahuatl to the Indian language of Telugu.
This is as well as the more common foreign languages of Urdu, Punjabi and Polish.
The survey in Reading, Berkshire, shows how schools are being put under mounting pressure by the rising levels of pupils who do not speak English as their first language.
White Cliffs of Dover to be sold to the French to help reduce Government’s debt
By Vanessa Allen
For generations Dover has stood as an indomitable symbol of Britain’s freedom and independence.
The town, with its white cliffs, port and sprawling castle stood at the very edge of the nation’s frontier with the Continent.
But now part of that proud history is up for sale and the leading bidder is revealed as the former age-old enemy – France.
![]()
The Port of Dover is being recommended by Government advisers for sale to the French authorities.
It is one of a string of public assets which have been earmarked for privatisation as the Government battles with a record £830billion national debt.
The proposal for the port has prompted outrage.
Prospective Tory MP for Dover Charles Elphicke said: ‘It’s clear Gordon Brown has no sense of the history of our nation or the pride of our town.
‘How dare he consider selling it all off to the French? Dover is the English border. The people of Dover have a clear message for him – hands off our port, hands off the English border.’
Oh heck. Just can’t resist one more example, not related to first story at top, which I suppose makes it even worse. And ppl have to be soooo careful when using words as you can all imagine. Use the wrong pc word or phrase and naturally it goes from being a scam to a bad racial attitude.
New promise to end student visa scams: But the Tories jeer ‘haven’t we heard it all before?’
By JAMES SLACK
Alan Johnson yesterday promised yet another crack down on the rampant abuse of the foreign student visa regime.
The Home Secretary said tougher rules would be introduced requiring applicants to speak English to near-GCSE level and ban those on short UK courses from bringing dependents.
Officials claim the new regulations will lead to a sharp reduction in the 240,000 student visas currently issued by the UK each year - the equivalent of one every two minutes. But the Conservatives accused the Government of ‘floundering around’ as it sought to correct its own mistakes.
Bringing “dependents?” Students have a crying need to bring dependents? Jeesh.

Save this for when you get really po’d re. American immigration/border policies, and then
BE DAMN THANKFUL YOU DON’T HAVE THIS. Or do we?
Another gem from Richard Littlejohn. There’s two actually and I’ll post the other one separately. For now however, put you eyes on this. It’s been going on a long time now, and I can not understand how or why people who hold offices and who are generally well educated, can at the very same time be so damn stupid. They really are killing this country with kindness. Or maybe it isn’t intended kindness at all.
Bottom line. As he is so often, Littlejohn is correct.
The lunatics now have full control of the asylum. Not funny.
When it comes to asylum, the lunatics really have taken over
By Richard Littlejohn
This morning’s edition of You Couldn’t Make It Up stars 31-year-old Moroccan Rashid Ali, who came to this country six years ago in search of a better life.
![]()
He tore up his passport and pretended to be Algerian, in the belief that he stood more chance of being granted asylum.
A short while after arriving, he decided that Britain wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. So, naturally, he decided to leave.
With the myriad problems we have deporting failed asylum seekers and terrorists, you might have thought the authorities would be happy to see the back of him.
After all, the Government has resorted to bribing illegal immigrants to go home, even chartering special flights to repatriate them.
So they should have been offering to drive Rashid to the airport and bidding him a fond farewell. Missing you already.
But the Moroccans are in no rush to get him back and have failed to issue him with a new passport. And because he has no papers, British officials refused to let him leave. When he tried to escape, he was arrested and put in detention.
So far, he has stowed away on six cargo ships, but each time he has been brought back. He has even been offered his own flat to persuade him to stay put, but refused.
Rashid is currently being held in a ‘removals’ centre near Heathrow, even though he won’t be going anywhere fast.
This Kafkaesque farce has been running since 2004, during which time Rashid has been jailed for nine months for stealing a coat and made the subject of a deportation order.
More than a year ago a judge promised to ‘kick some backsides’ at the Home Office, saying the refusal to repatriate him beggared belief.
It costs £43,000 a year to keep him in detention. The bill to the British taxpayer, including legal fees, adds up to more than £300,000.
We have known for a decade that Britain’s asylum and immigration system is absurd. But this case is beyond bonkers.
If Rashid Ali wants to leave, let him. If Morocco doesn’t want him, he can try his luck somewhere else.
Where he goes next is not our problem. He is not a British citizen and we have no obligation towards him.
Rashid is being held in a secure unit because of fears he may abscond. But he wants to abscond, for heaven’s sake.
Officials also say they are concerned that he may hurt himself if he tries to stow away on another ship. I suppose it was inevitable that elf’n’safety would have a walk-on part in this fiasco.
Ever since the pernicious ‘yuman rites’ act was passed into law, the British authorities seem to believe they have a moral and legal obligation to feed and water the world’s waifs and strays, however undesirable.
And they will go to any lengths to carry out their ‘duty’.
It has also been revealed that the Foreign Office is supporting an attempt to remove seven foreign terror suspects, currently living in Britain, from a UN watch list.
All of them are said to have links with al-Qaeda and the Taliban. They include people who have been convicted of involvement in bombings in Casablanca, accused of blowing up two U.S. embassies and found guilty by a military tribunal of plotting terrorist attacks.
Currently, the men are forbidden to leave the country. Why the hell were they ever allowed to enter Britain in the first place? They should have been kicked out years ago.
Even when we try to deport terror suspects, our hands are tied by ‘yuman rites’. In another ludicrous development yesterday, the High Court ruled that two suspected terrorists, one Libyan and one Iraqi, who have been subject to control orders in Britain since 2006 - because it is illegal to detain them in prison - are entitled to sue for compensation.
They were given control orders only because sending them back to Libya or Iraq would break their fundamental rights.
That’s not all. Europe’s top law officer has announced that the wives and families of men linked to al- Qaeda should receive tens of thousands of pounds in benefits from the British taxpayer.
Refusing to pay them is - you guessed - a breach of their ‘yuman rites’. No wonder Britain harbours more terrorists than any other Western country.
The insanity of our system for dealing with foreign terrorists and illegal immigrants is beyond parody.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave, even if you want to.
WHEN IT SOMES TO ASYLUM, THE LUNATICS HAVE REALLY TAKEN OVER.

The U.S. must not ‘occupy’ Haiti, declares French minister. wtf? Huh?
Gosh oh gee. Wonder where these folks will eventually be headed.
Get ready America. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you. Coming soon, whoops. They’re almost there now.
btw ... Any word over there (USA) of possible takeover of Haiti by the US? You haven’t heard from the French yet have ya?

The U.S. must not ‘occupy’ Haiti, declares French minister as aid FINALLY trickles through
By Mail Foreign Service
Last updated at 4:21 PM on 18th January 2010The UN must step in to ensure the U.S. is not occupying Haiti in the wake of a devastating earthquake that may have killed 200,000 people, a French minister has said.
French Cooperation Minister Alain Joyandet spoke as the country descended into anarchy. Aid is only just trickling through the ‘bottleneck’ at Haiti’s airport, while angry Haitians desperate for help are striking out at international agencies - and each other.
Some 10,000 U.S. troops are on the way to try to restore order - but their role is being questioned.
‘This is about helping Haiti, not about occupying Haiti,’ Joyandet, in Brussels for an EU meeting on Haiti, said on French radio.
Joyandet has already complained about America’s role in Haiti. Last week U.S. forces turned back a French aid plane carrying a field hospital from the damaged, congested airport in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, prompting criticism from the French minister.
The plane landed safely the following day.
In another weekend incident, some 250 Americans were flown to New Jersey’s McGuire Air Force Base on three military planes from Haiti.
U.S. forces initially blocked French and Canadians nationals from boarding the planes, but the cordon was lifted after protests from French and Canadian officials.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Saturday the U.S. government had no intention of taking power from Haitian officials.

BORDERS? WHAT BORDERS? I DON’T GOT TO RECOGNIZE ANYONES BORDERS. WHERE’S MY WELFARE CHECK?
Finland too? Who’d have thought?
Checking in at Europe News tonight and I found this. There may be a small sync problem but no trouble understanding what the guy is saying.
Hey, has it become racist to ask, why are countries traditionally white so willing to bend over so easily? But never mind that. It isn’t just muzzies or darker skinned ppls crowding the natives. Although those folks breed like mad. It’s just the idea that borders seem to mean little anymore.
A french judge has recently allowed this.
An Afghan migrant cannot be sent home from France because his claim for asylum must be considered, the country’s highest court has ruled - despite him admitting his only aim is to reach Britain.
Said Sultan Khail has now been freed and is expected to resume his bid to get to Britain illegally via Calais.
despite him admitting his only aim is to reach Britain to resume his bid to get to Britain illegally via Calais.
While every other ethnic group in the world seems to be making claims for special this and that, whites continue on the road to cultural suicide.
H/T EUROPE NEWS
One of the highest rates of immigrants in Europe is drawing fears from Finns. Some are concerned that immigrants, attracted by Finland’s generous welfare packages and high living standards, will overrun their country.

pity poor Greece …….. no Spartan king to hold the pass …
H/T EUROPE NEWS
They just keep on coming and they invade on many fronts. And they usually get to stay, sucking the lifeblood out of every place that makes a place for them. They are like an army of ants but not as interesting. Their goal I believe , is to make the place they find, as much like the place they left as they can are allowed to.
Greece is Being Systematically Invaded by Mohammedans

November 2009
LESBOS - “Stop the boat! Stop the boat now!” the captain of the Greek Coast Guard patrol vessel yelled over the bullhorn, turning a spotlight on the flimsy dinghy as it chugged toward this island in the Aegean Sea.
As the dinghy sputtered to a halt, a crowd of frightened faces squinted up into the light. Squeezed onto the 6-meter, or 20-foot, vessel were 30 Afghan migrants — men, women, children including babies — and their smugglers: two Turkish boys.
The interception occurred one Saturday night earlier this month. But the migrants, the smugglers and the coast guard officers are protagonists in a daily drama played out in this seven-kilometer-wide strait separating the island of Lesbos from the Turkish coast, one of the narrowest sea crossings between the two countries and a favored route for smuggling.
Hampering European Union efforts to curb a relentless influx of desperate people seeking to enter the bloc through this slender channel are age-old tensions between the E.U. member Greece and the E.U.-hopeful Turkey and the ever inventive tactics of opportunists profiting from the situation.
“It’s kids like these that smugglers are sending over to do their dirty work,” the coast guard captain said as his colleagues handcuffed the two boys to the deck of the patrol boat. The youths said they were Turks, age 16 and 17, and nodded sheepishly when asked if they were doing it for the money.
“We’ve seen one kid three times,” the captain said, noting that minors, who cannot be prosecuted under Greek law, were sent back to Turkey, but often tried to return to Greece a few weeks later. The captain asked not to be identified by name for security reasons.
The dinghy piloted by the teenagers was one of hundreds of boats that were stopped in waters off Lesbos in patrols organized by the island’s coast guard in association with the E.U.’s border monitoring agency, Frontex. A total of 7,745 migrants have been detained on the island this year. This is partly because the patrols, ostensibly aimed at pushing back undocumented immigrants, often turn into rescue exercises.
“Smugglers often burst the dinghies as they know we will have to save the migrants while they escape,” the captain said. He said the Turkish teens might have been planning to do the same: They were wearing wet suits under their clothes which, when searched, revealed mobile phones but no weapons or identification documents.
Some migrants are not lucky enough to be spotted. On Oct. 27, 10 Afghans, including eight children, drowned when their boat hit a rocky outcrop off the northeastern coast of Lesbos.
Escape tactics by smugglers and the failure, reported by Frontex, of Turkish officials to stop suspicious vessels as they leave, ensure that a steady stream of migrants reaches Lesbos and other islands in the Aegean.
Until last month, those arriving on Lesbos were put in a temporary reception center. But the facility, near the village of Pagani, was closed after overcrowding reached such levels that migrants started to riot, sparking protests by human rights groups. Of the hundreds of migrants released, some were given ferry tickets to the major port of Piraeus, near Athens, and deportation slips ordering them to leave Greece within 30 days. Others were transferred to a facility, now filled beyond its capacity, on the nearby island of Chios.
Detention centers across Greece had been accommodating some of the overflow, but unions representing the Greek police say that these holding cells also are now packed.
There is no sign of the influx ebbing. According to Frontex, 14,000 migrants were intercepted at sea between Greece and Turkey in the first six months of this year, up 47 percent from the 9,500 stopped in the first half of 2008. In contrast, arrivals by undocumented migrants to Italy and Spain, also considered external E.U. border states, dropped by 70 percent. A reception center on the Italian island of Lampedusa was crammed this time last year and is now empty.
“A trend of reduced migration flows in the Mediterranean region is not reflected in Greece, which remains the main entry point to the E.U. for illegal immigrants,” said Gil Arias Fernández, the deputy executive director of Frontex. The problem will persist, he said, “as long as Turkish authorities do not stop migrants near their border.”
Afghans dominate the influx of migrants, joined by a growing number of people from countries in North and West Africa, shunning routes via Italy and Spain because of repatriation pacts in force between these nations and their countries of origin. A similar agreement exists between Greece and Turkey, but the authorities in Greece complain that it is not being enforced by Ankara, despite pressure from the European Union. This hampers the patrols.

Guess These Scumbags Are Citizens
I’m nearly amazed that I haven’t seen a scathing post at Michelle Malkin’s blog on the Richmond CA High School gang rape. This is one of the foulest stories I’ve ever run across, outside of torture/genocide and mutilation murders. As far as I’m concerned, take everybody who was at that dance back to the gymnasium, lock the doors, and set fire to the place. Auto da fe the whole damn school, the entire student body, and all the teachers, administrators, and security people who were there that night.
Richmond High is one of the lowest performing schools in California. Overall just 30.5% of all the students are proficient in English, only 20.4% are proficient at math, 71% of the students are on the free meals program and almost everyone there is classified as economically disadvantaged. Ethnically, 76% of the students are Hispanic, 13% are African American, about 1% are Asian, and 1% are White.
So far the arrested include Cody Ray Smith, 15, Ari Abdallah Morales, 16, and Marcelles James Peter, 17, Manuel Ortega, 19, Salvador Rodriguez, 21. Police are saying that as many as 10 or more took part in the 2 1/2 hour long crime, while more than two dozen stood around watching and applauding. Word spread back into the gym where the dance was, and people came out to watch. And nobody did a damn thing to stop it, and nobody called 911 or the cops. But they did all take pictures on their cell phones. Souvenirs they were all proud to have?
But I guess these students aren’t illegal aliens. Otherwise Malkin would be having a tizzy about that. But I’ll cut her some slack; nobody in California is probably even allowed to ask the citizenship question. Even though the juveniles are being charged as adults, and when convicted will get life in jail, it’s damn hard to find booking pictures of them.
A friend of the victim, a white girl who identifies herself and the victim as “majorities” who are minorities in that school, and ostracized because of it. She says that security guards did not check IDs that night, and that they saw what was going on - or at least the crowd of young men - and did nothing. Same goes for the Assistant Principal.
I looked outside of the gym and I saw 12 to 15 guys, sitting there, with no IDs,” Baker said at the hearing. “The officers—not only did they not check the IDs of those students or men sitting outside of of our campus, but the security officers who are employed here did no ... checking either. The assistant principal looked outside and actually saw those men, and did nothing about it.”
Baker took the podium with her younger sister, Barbie, a freshman at the school, who had spent a chunk of Saturday evening with the rape victim.
“This story has disrupted the school’s morale greatly, including my own. I am friends with the girl,” Baker said. “When I started here, I felt extremely unsafe and so did she, due to the lack of police officers and security officers.”
Baker later described the 15-year-old girl as a churchgoer who struggled to fit in at Richmond High. [watch the videos at this link]
Sounds like a Hate Crime to me. Get Back At Whitey Time.
And dozens stood there and applauded. [which is an actual crime in California.]
I don’t buy the “mob mentality” bullshit, unless you are going to punish them all as a mob. Which means every single one of them gets the maximum possible sentence. No, that’s not good enough. Mobs don’t have individual rights or civil rights, so they should be exempt from California’s lenient laws. Put them all to death at the same time. Burn the shit heap school down on top of their sick little heads. And then sterilize their parents.

300-Plus Arrests Made in ‘Project Coronado’ Drug Cartel Raids
Attorney General Eric Holder calls it the largest single strike at a Mexican drug cartel operating in the U.S. — the arrest of more than 300 people in a series of drug raids across the country.
Holder said at a news conference that the arrests over the past two days were aimed at the U.S. operations of the La Familia cartel. Holder said La Familia is the newest and most violent of Mexico’s five drug cartels.
More than 3,000 federal agents and police officers made the arrests in more than a dozen states. The raids are part of a long-running anti-drug operation that has led to nearly 1,200 arrests over almost four years.
Many of the charges are centered on the cartel’s operations pumping large quantities of methamphetamine into the United States, and other drug distribution charges involve cocaine and marijuana, the officials said.
Project Coronado has targeted La Familia, a drug-trafficking cartel based in the state of Michoacan in southwestern Mexico.
The cartel claims it opposes the sale of meth to Mexicans, but supports its consumption by Americans.
Officials said states where arrests were made or charges filed include California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington state.

More Than 1,700 People Arrested in Immigration Gang Probe
U.S. immigration officials say a six-month, 89-city operation focused on gangs led to the arrests of more than 1,700 people.
![]()
The 1,785 arrests are of people suspected of gang and criminal activity or immigration violations. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday 35 percent have violent criminal histories, 16 are gang leaders and more than 1,400 are suspected gang members. About 905 people face criminal charges.
The operation targeted gangs with largely foreign-born members involved in many types of smuggling. The operation ended Sept. 30. The arrests are part of the Operation Community Shield program that involves federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
Nice work guys, but this is just a drop in the bucket. You could arrest and deport this many gang members and illegal aliens every day for the rest of Obama’s term, and it would hardly make a bit of difference. But it would be a start, so get back to work. And secure that damn border so they can’t get back in again.

Sorry for the light posting. Peiper is sick again, and I’ve been at wits-end. We’re trying to get a mortgage and the bank seems to be staffed by idiots. Long story for another day maybe.
Anyway, here’s a joke sent to me by Carol. Thanks Carol!
Or, maybe it’s not a joke. It could work, maybe.
The Dallas Solution
I have a friend who is president of his homeowners association in the Dallas, Texas suburbs. They were having a terrible problem with litter near some of his association’s homes. The reason is that six very large, luxurious new houses are being built right next to their community.
The trash was coming from the Mexican laborers working at the construction sites and included bags from McDonald’s, Burger King and 7-11, plus coffee cups, napkins, cigarette butts, coke cans, empty bottles, etc.
He went to see the site supervisor and even the general contractor, politely urging them to get their workers not to litter the neighborhood, to no avail.
He called the city, county, and police and got no help there either.
So here’s what his community did. They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The “Inner Neighborhood Services” group, and arranged to go out at lunch time and “police” the trash themselves.
It is what they did while picking up the trash that is so hilarious. They bought navy blue baseball caps and had the initials “INS” embroidered in gold on the caps. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand what they hoped people might mistakenly think the letters really stand for ...
After the Inner Neighborhood Services group’s first lunch time pickup detail, with all of them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras, 46 of the total of 68 construction workers did not show up for work the next morning—and haven’t come back yet.
It has been ten days now.
The General Contractor, I’m told, is madder than hell, but can’t say anything publicly because he could be busted for hiring illegal aliens. Wallace and his bunch can’t be accused of impersonating federal personnel, because they have the official name of the group recorded in their homeowner association minutes along with a notation about the vote to approve formation of the new subcommittee—and besides, they informed the INS in advance of their plans and according to Wallace, the INS said basically, “Have at it!”
SO, FOLKS, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT TEXAS INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN!
Reminder: Don’t forget to pay your taxes....... 12 million illegal aliens are depending on you.

Italy says yes to Blair for EU president… but ….. there’s a bit of a snag.
See, the Italians aren’t sure of his attitude on immigration. And maybe the French aren’t pleased either but we’ll have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, consider this.
Britain’s refusal to adopt the euro as its currency - and to sign up to the Schengen agreement - may be obstacles that will prevent other countries from agreeing with Italy, however.
Ah ... the Schengen agreement. Here ya go ... consider this as well.
Signing up to the Schengen agreement would open Britain’s borders to anyone travelling from Europe without a passport or visa, whether they were European or not.
So bend over and kiss your sovereignty bye-bye. Oh yeah. While you’re at it, expect more (LOTS MORE) immigrants of a dark hue and especially those who are devout members of a peaceful religion.
Italy says yes to Blair for EU president… but admits Britain’s stance on immigration could be a problemBy Mail Foreign Service
Last updated at 2:23 PM on 06th October 2009Italy wants Tony Blair to become president of the European Union - but a minister admitted today that Britain’s stance on immigration might hamper the former Prime Minister’s bid.
‘We have expressed our appreciation for Tony Blair, knowing however that there is a bloc of countries with concerns about him,’ Foreign Minister Franco Frattini told Corriere della Sera newspaper today.
Britain’s refusal to adopt the euro as its currency - and to sign up to the Schengen agreement - may be obstacles that will prevent other countries from agreeing with Italy, however.
Signing up to the Schengen agreement would open Britain’s borders to anyone travelling from Europe without a passport or visa, whether they were European or not.
Calais mayor Natacha Bouchart has long been demanding Britain sign up to the agreement, which would allow refugees who congregate in the port as they wait to sneak into the UK to openly travel here.
We appreciate [Mr Blair] as a person. We realise these limits, we do not deny them,’ said the Italian minister.
The new role of long-term president of the European Council of MInisters is due to be created under the Lisbon Treaty.
Mr Blair’s name has long been tossed about as a potential candidate for the post, ever since it was raised by French President Nicolas Sarkozy back in 2007.
Britain’s Labour government also supports its former leader’s bid - but Mr Blair may find a roadblock in Germany’s Angela Merkel.
Other candidates may include Dutch premier Jan-Peter Bakenende and Finland’s Paaco Lipponen.
The appointment may be made at an EU summit later this month.
The Lisbon Treaty will take effect when Poland and the Czech Republic follow other member states in ratifying it.
Ireland just ratified the treaty last week.

Do you recall this from a week ago? Thousands of migrants here for handouts, says senior judge.
Some of you will I’m sure and some even commented on my post that they thought it was about time somebody woke up.
I said I hoped somebody was paying attention but ...

Well BMEWS ... Here’s the headline that greeted us this morning.
Top judge faces sack for speaking out about immigrants abusing benefits system
By Steve Doughty
Last updated at 7:54 AM on 05th August 2009By Steve Doughty
Last updated at 7:54 AM on 05th August 2009A senior judge faces the sack after saying that ‘hundreds of thousands of immigrants’ come to Britain to receive generous welfare payments.
Judge Ian Trigger was told yesterday that a disciplinary inquiry is to look at whether his criticisms of the links between crime, large-scale immigration and the welfare system were ‘too political’.
The 65-year-old Crown Court judge, who has also served on immigration tribunals for just over a decade, made his remarks as he jailed an illegal immigrant and drug runner last month.
The official investigation has been ordered by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge, who has the power, along with Justice Secretary Jack Straw, to dismiss judges who speak out of turn.
But the decision to put the case before the Office for Judicial Complaints (OJC) was attacked yesterday, with some critics claiming it threatens the right of anyone to speak out about immigration.
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Migrationwatch pressure group, said: ‘There is a great deal of concern, privately expressed, in many parts of the judiciary,
the number of failed asylum-seekers.‘There ought to be some way in which those concerns can be expressed without infringing judicial guidelines.’
Robert Whelan, of the Civitas think-tank, said: ‘This reinforces the view that there are certain things that may not be expressed in this country any more. There are great fears for freedom of speech.’
Judge Trigger made his remarks last week as he jailed a Jamaican man, Lucien McClearley, for two years for drugs offences at Liverpool Crown Court.
Judge Trigger said the case illustrated how a ‘lax’ immigration policy had led to ‘hundreds and hundreds of thousands’ of immigrants arriving in Britain to claim generous welfare benefits.
And he warned that wasted welfare payments had helped double the national debt, with the burden falling on decent hard-working citizens.
My posts might be light today ... a few minor problems.

JUST SAYING OUT LOUD WHAT ALMOST EVERY BRIT ALREADY KNOWS. ‘BOUT TIME SOMEONE DID.

Hundreds of thousands of migrants here for handouts, says senior judge
By Steve DoughtyLast updated at 12:43 AM on 29th July 2009
Hundreds of thousands of immigrants come to Britain just to get welfare benefits, a senior judge declared yesterday.
Judge Ian Trigger said the cost of the handouts has helped to double the national debt.
He spoke out as he gave a two-year jail sentence to a Jamaican drug minder who disappeared from the notice of immigration authorities after claiming asylum.
He told Lucien McClearley, 31, at Liverpool Crown Court: ‘Your case illustrates all too clearly the completely lax immigration policy that exists and has existed over recent years.’Sentencing McClearley, he added: ‘People like you, and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people like you, come to these shores to avail themselves of the generous welfare benefits that exist here.
‘In the past ten years the national debt of this country has risen to extraordinary heights, largely because central Government has wasted billions of pounds. Much of that has been wasted on welfare payments.‘For every £1 that the decent citizen, who is hard-working, pays in taxes, nearly 10 per cent goes on servicing that national debt. That is twice the amount it was in 1997 when this Government came to power.’ McClearley arrived legally in Britain in November 2001 on a visitor’s visa.
He was arrested in October 2002 after it ran out but claimed asylum and was released while this was being processed.
He then ‘disappeared from the radar of the authorities’, the court heard. His application was rejected in 2004 but he was only arrested this February after police stopped a car he was driving and noticed it smelled of cannabis.
A search of the house where McClearley was staying in Everton uncovered cannabis worth £7,200, a gram of cocaine and a fake passport. He admitted taking a vehicle without consent, possessing cannabis and cocaine, possessing a class-B drug with intent and two counts of possessing false identity documents.
Judge Trigger, who is also a part-time immigration judge, told McClearley: ‘The fact that it took nearly two years to process your claim shows how desperate the situation in this country has become.’
The 65-year-old judge said he ‘hoped and trusted’ McClearley would be deported immediately on release.

COMING TO ENGLAND SOON. REAL SOON. AND NOBODY TO STOP THE VERMIN. OPEN BORDERS?
The govt here, which I heard was broke, is giving the French almost $30,000.000.00 to search illegals ON THEIR SIDE of the channel. Wait a minute. Hold the phone. Lyndon. Can you explain that? Maybe things done differently here. (?) People are trying to sneak into the UK, they are in France but trying to come here. So the Brits PAY the French to do something they should be doing anyway? My head has just become a spinning top.
Years and years ago, way before BMEWS and the younger folks here, a brilliant politician here name Enoch Powell, warned about immigration, the open door, and especially the kinds of immigrants they were gonna get. His ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech about the dangers of mass immigration cost him his job and career.
Calais migrants ambush Britons at knifepoint in terrifying ‘highway robberies’By James Slack and Ian Sparks
Last updated at 8:19 AM on 21st July 2009Migrant gangs in Calais are targeting British holidaymakers in terrifying ‘highway robberies’.
Would-be illegal immigrants are forming human roadblocks to force motorists passing through the French port town to stop.
People are then robbed at knifepoint by the migrants, who are desperate for funds to help them sneak into the UK.
Last night police in Calais issued a warning to the nine million Britons a year who pass through Calais - the equivalent of 25,000 every day.
They urged motorists to keep their windows closed and doors locked until they are safely inside the ferry terminal.
Officers said they had received several reports from holidaymakers of having to ‘run a gauntlet’ of migrants between the town and the ferry port.
One British couple reported being forced to stop by bedraggled refugees on the port approach road last week.
A Calais police spokesman said: ‘Frontier police received a report from a British couple who said the gang formed a human chain across the road to stop them.
‘Around six of them then surrounded the car and waved a knife in the male driver’s face and demanded cash. He threw his wallet out of the window and sped off. The refugees fled into the woods on foot.’
Police said several days later another British family ploughed through a refugee roadblock, knocking down and injuring one of the migrants.
Robert Moncrieff, 80, following in a car close behind, said: ‘There was a refugee lying in the road who looked injured. He was surrounded by several of his accomplices.
‘We drove straight past and when we reached the port, the driver told us the refugees had tried to flag him down but he had driven through them and knocked one over.’
The police spokesman added: ‘We advise drivers to drive slowly at anyone blocking the road, giving the clear intention you do not want to be stopped.
‘If the road remains blocked, keep the windows closed and doors locked, and call the police. Drivers should take any opportunity to drive away once the road is clear.’
He added: ‘We are stepping up security and police patrols in the area around the port, especially over the busy summer months.’
Since the closure of the Red Cross refugee centre at Sangatte in 2002, would-be migrants have been sleeping rough in and around Calais while they attempt to sneak on board cross-Channel trains and ferries.
There are currently around 2,000, many living in a squalid camp known as the Jungle, which the French government has said will not be cleared away until next year.
In April immigration minister Eric Besson vowed to bulldoze the litter-strewn shanty town - where a London journalist was raped by a migrant last year - after admitting it had become a hotbed for people smugglers and criminal gangs.
But he has now said the camp must remain in place until it can be dismantled ‘in a dignified manner’.
French politicians have blamed Britain for the return of migrant camps to Calais.
The mayor of Calais, Natacha Bouchart, said the lure of the UK’s ‘enormous’ state handouts to asylum-seekers was the reason why thousands of foreigners are using the French port as a staging point to get across the Channel.
Mrs Bouchart said the UK Government’s policies were ‘imposing’ thousand of migrants on the town, costing the local economy millions of pounds.
Earlier this month, Gordon Brown agreed to give France £15million for new technology to search vehicles heading for Britain.
In return, France undertook to step up the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
Last night a UK Border Agency spokesman said: ‘We are confident the French authorities will take any action necessary to protect those travelling back to Britain.’
Oh I love this line.
“the camp must remain in place until it can be dismantled ‘in a dignified manner’.”
Why? There isn’t anything at all dignified about the vermin there. A few heads stuck on pikes in full view might discourage others.
The west is definitely too civilized for its own good.

French mayor blames Britain’s benefits system for immigrant problem. Does this mean war ?
Ya know for once I think the French may be quite right. And I bet a lot of Brits will agree.
This island will one day sink under the weight. If they don’t bankrupt themselves first. Not funny at all.
The mayor of Calais has blamed Britain’s asylum and benefits system for “imposing” thousands of illegal migrants on her town.
By Peter Allen in Paris
Last Updated: 11:34AM BST 20 Apr 2009In an angry attack in which she also called for millions in compensation, Natacha Bouchart said the UK was entirely to blame for the hordes of foreigners who use the French port as a staging point to get across the Channel.
Mrs Bouchart, who is a member of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s ruling UMP party, said she was so disgusted by what was going on that she had refused to have any meetings with British government representatives.
Mrs Bouchart pointed out that the Calais Chamber of Trade was having to spend £12 million each year securing the port area – money she suggested the French government should pay back.
But it was Britain’s immigration system which was predominantly to blame for thousands of Africans, eastern Europeans and people from central Asia trying to clamber aboard lorries and trains in Calais to get to the UK every day.
“Requesting asylum is easier with them (the British) than in France,” said Mrs Bouchart.
“The asylum seeker is given accommodation and receives £31 to £40 a week according to their case, when the annual salary of the average Eritrean is around $200 (£136).“That seems enormous and it’s attractive, even if in some places it’s nothing.”
Calling for a “change in attitude”, Mrs Bouchart said the current build up of UK-bound foreigners was untenable.
She said the fact that Britain had not signed up to the Schengen agreement – which allows people in Europe to travel from one country to another without a passport – made life very easy for the UK.Although Britain has signed the Dublin Convention, which streamlined the application process for political asylum, France still had a duty to try and keep illegal migrants out of the UK.
Mrs Bouchart, who made her comments at a Calais press conference, said: “The British signed the Dublin accords but did not ratify Schengen. That places them in an easy situation.“Calais is a hostage to the British. That’s enough. It’s no longer tenable. It’s necessary to renegotiate these accords. We’re not here to do their job.”
She also referred to the shutting of the Sangatte refugee centre near Calais, which has acted as a magnet to thousands of illegal migrants before being shut as part of an Anglo-French agreement in 2002.
“Shutting the Red Cross Centre at Sangatte and the accords which followed were a good thing. But the situation has evolved. It is necessary to review the accords,” said Mrs Bouchart.French immigration minister Eric Besson is due to outline new policies for dealing with the worsening situation in Calais.
Some 2,000 UK-bound migrants are currently sleeping rough in the area, with around 800 in the town itself.
Mrs Bouchart has written to both Mr Sarkozy and Mr Besson – who visited Calais in January – calling for compensation in the name of “national solidarity” for the town’s plight. She said: “Each day the town of Calais finds itself under psychological pressure because of the presence of the migrants.
“That blocks our economic development. That stops some businesses from establishing themselves and that costs a lot.” Mrs Bouchart added: “The Minister Besson said he would return here at the end of April. But since his first visit the situation has changed.“If the migrants number 300 or 350 the situation is manageable. More than that and it becomes risky for the migrants themselves, the charities, the population, and businesses.
“Today there are 800 who can be seen in Calais itself, and that’s unacceptable. Each day I receive letters and calls from residents and businesses who complain about the situation.”

You folks especially in border states who have immigration issues can think yourselves s bit lucky. Believe me. Of course, much of the problem is somewhat self inflicted. Hand wringing lefties and those who aren’t but whose hearts are overly soft just will not do enough. Whenever a politician or anyone else for that matter says hey ... we need to curb or halt immigration .... the awful ‘R’ word is paraded out and that seem to end (for the moment) any discussion on the subject. Naturally I have the answer ... any surprise there?
If enough Brits get together and decide to save their country from any other invasions aside from the one that’s internal, and I have the answer for that too, then this country HAS to become a very DANGEROUS place to try and sneak into into. It just does. Things here have really and truly gotten to the point where it will not be long before there might not Always Be An England. And if that happens, who will the French blame for their problems? Germans too come to that. Not to worry ... for awhile at least there’ll be America to blame .
Last time I was in Calais must have been 20 years ago. Perhaps more. Things sure have not changed for the better. Except for immigrants legal and otherwise.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
