(P)MSNBC Smackdown
I was gonna work on my computer today but I took a break and stumbled across this Royal Fisking&trade at The BastardSword of MSNBC and its coverage of Condaleeza Rice's appearance at the 9/11 Commission hearings last week. Thanks to Misha for pointing out this link. It's amazing to me how the Leftist Media (spit) can twist anything around to fit their perceptions. Howard Fineman at MSNBC is a poor little Barking Moonbat whose radar and onboard computer have melted and refuse to function, rendering him almost blind, deaf and still an asshole.
I cancelled my subscription to Newsweek nearly three years ago when they hired him to start writing editorials and his first few editorials started bashing Bush (and that was BEFORE 9/11). This cretin deserves a massive smackdown with the Imperial Cluebat&trade. Thankfully, BastardSword does a fantastically great job of mowing down this insect. Go take a look at what happens when a Liberal Moonbat journalist flings shit ... and a blogger flings it right back! Whooooooeeeeeee!
Howard Fineman is just a waste of good oxygen, in my opinion. Bring me his head! (empty though it be!)

Democrats engaging in blame game
This is truly amazing. Here we have a story in the NY Times (you already see it coming, don't you) that talks about how those 4 Americans killed in Fallujah may have been lured to their deaths by chickenshit, hide behind Mommy's skirts, Islamic, goat fornicating terrorists. At first that sounds innocuous enough except, of course, the Times does not call them chickenshit, hide behind Mommy's skirts, Islamic, goat fornicating terrorists. They prefer insurgents. Next thing you know, the Times will call them freedom fighters.Anyway........................about 2/3 of the way into it, I find that a cabal of Dummycrap senators sent a letter to the White House about these private corporation employees
"expressing concern that they could "contribute to Iraqi resentment."
The thirteen bottom feeding, scumsucking bastards who signed this letter are listed below and you can read it here:
| Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) | Senator Carl Levin (D-IL) | Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD) |
| Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) | Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) | Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) |
| Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) | Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) | Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) |
| Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) | Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) | Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) |
| Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI) |
This thing reads like a Who's Who of Bash-Bush, Commie butt-licking liberals (however, I do not see Barney Franks' name on here.).
I seriously wonder sometimes if Democrats actually HATE the United States. It's not difficult to think so when you read letters like this from our own elected representatives that try to place blame for the people who die on those self-same people rather than the true criminals--the terrorists.
I also often wonder if party politics trumps national security, economic national well-being, and truth when it comes to these moonbats because, no matter how you slice and dice it, according to these disgraceful pieces of goat turds, the victims of this tragedy were at fault for their own deaths.
It is too bad these shitbirds don't go on a "fact finding" trip to Fallujah and find themselves facing the business end of an RPG. I'd be glad to write something to Rumsfeld afterwards demanding an investigation as I was concerned our visiting Senators may be creating Iraqi resentment.

Defending the Stars and Stripes
This is a rather long piece (tip o' the hat to James Taranto's Best of the Web for it) and when I started to read it I was not sure exactly where it was going. I realized it was longer than I thought so I shot to the bottom and started reading upwards, instead. Then I began back at the top and read it as it deserves to be read, completely and comprehensively. Mr. Parker describes the book he is reviewing as I would describe his article. Thusly: (just substitute Parker for Revel)
Even those diametrically opposed to Revel's views would be forced to acknowledge his skills as a pugnacious rhetorician who does not eschew sarcasm as a weapon.
Near the beginning the tone was set with these two, edited for size, paragraphs:
... anti-Americanism has ascended from its former status as the preoccupation of a relative handful of Jurassic Marxists, professional victims, Third World whiners, and Islamo-fascist troglodytes to the level of a major new global religion.
Curiously, however, while the religion has a hell (America), and a devil (George W Bush), it lacks both a heaven (the collectivist pipe dream having been found wanting) and a god (since the anti-Americans consider themselves as having evolved beyond the need for a deity - save their Islamist faction, which wants to impose its religion forcibly on everyone else). Still, the anti-American cult provides its legions of drooling adherents with the crucial element of any faith: the illusion of meaning in an otherwise meaningless existence. That priceless psychological salve, in this case, is the comforting delusion that, no matter how hypocritical, backward, bigoted, ignorant, corrupt or cowardly the cult's followers might otherwise be, at least they are better than those awful Americans
Suffice it to say, the reviewer describes the author's journey of discovery about the irrational hatred by the leftists in this world against America starting with the French and European opposition to our involvement in Vietnam:
A startling number of French commentators developed a sudden amnesia about their country's own involvement in Indochina
It was a step that the vast majority of this class, then and now, have been unwilling to take: they simply cherish their prejudice against Americans too greatly to face the possibility that real, live examples might not conform to it
How very typically liberal to not let facts get in the way of their opinion.
When describing President Bush's decision to end the farce of the oil for food program administered by that corrupt P.O.S.O (piece of shit organization), the UN, by invading Iraq and actually GIVING the people there a chance for a better life, the author of the article asks this question rhetorically,
"did these dyspeptic howler monkeys praise the United States for trying to alleviate Iraqis' suffering? No, of course not."
Excellent, dude!
In defense of the US, little snippets like this are strewn throughout the article:
The strange thing is that it is always in Europe that dictatorships and totalitarian governments spring up, yet it is always America that is 'fascist'.
Here's another beauty that goes into describing the chutzpah of other countries who love to attribute THEIR own faults to the United States by declaring US to be fascists::
in a curious "reversal of culpability". Thus the famously peace-loving Japanese and Germans excoriate the US for "militarism"; the Mexicans attack it for "electoral corruption" in the wake of the 2000 election; the British accuse it of "imperialism"; Arab writers condemn it after September 11 for "abridging press freedom" (of course, the Arab states have always been shining beacons of that freedom). The gold medal for jaw-dropping hypocrisy, however, goes to the mainland Chinese, whose unelected dictatorship routinely accuses the United States of "hegemonism". Having been the chief hegemon of Asia for most of the past 5,000 years, the Chinese are in a singularly weak position to condemn the practice.
Lastly, you have to love this one!
Indeed, it is not the slightest exaggeration to say that in 2004, anti-American sentiment has become the biggest single obstacle to human progress. It sustains repressive dictatorships everywhere; excuses corruption, torture, the oppression of women, and mass murder; provides ideological oxygen for vile, stupid "revolutionary movements" like the Maoist insurgents in Nepal; and has even promoted the spread of disease
You owe it to yourself to read this gem.

What If?
While I was visiting over at Inoperable Terran's blog site a few minutes ago I came across a post that intrigued me beyond measure. I've always been a fan of alternative history books where authors play "what if" scenarios with historical turning points. Harry Turrtledove is perhaps the best in this genre. I highly recommend his books. But I digress. Inoperable Terran pointed out an excellent essay at New Republic by Gregg Easterbrook that caught me totally unawares and knocked my socks off.
Easterbrook takes a journey into the past and asks what would have happened if Bush had decided to act on the intelligence he received in August of 2001 and had arrested the 19 terrorist suspects and launched a strike into Afghanistan to put a stop to the Taliban and Osama bin Laden. Think about it for a minute. I'll give you a little teaser from the story of what probably would have happened:
Washington, April 9, 2004. A hush fell over the city as George W. Bush today became the first president of the United States ever to be removed from office by impeachment. Meeting late into the night, the Senate unanimously voted to convict Bush following a trial on his bill of impeachment from the House.
Now go read it and tell me if Easterbrook hasn't hit the nail exactly on the head. This is good stuff and Easterbrook is to be commended for his excellent insight and plausible story.
Pay very close attention to the last sentence in Easterbrook's story.

Still A Jerk
I read P.J. O'Rourke's excellent article "John Kerry's 1986 wimp-out in the Philippines" in the current issue of The Weekly Standard when it arrived in the mail on Tuesday. This was one piece I badly wanted to blog but my computer was down. Now, the blog world via Inoperable Terran and LGF beat me to this story.I've admired O'Rourke's writing for decades but the story he tells about Senator Kerry's visit to the Phillipines in 1986 during the declining days of the Ferdinand Marcos regime is eye-opening, to say the least. O'Rourke was there reporting for Rolling Stone on the unrest and got a close-up view of the future Presidential candidate. O'Rourke was unimpressed, to say the least.
Kerry displayed his arrogance and uncaring attitude toward the suffering Filipinos in such an obvious manner that O'Rourke says "Just as today Kerry is brave sailor/bold war protester; foe of Saddam/friend of Hans Blix; political underdog/entitled nominee; big government liberal/corporate tax-cutting conservative; rider of Harleys/marrier of Heinz; and, incidentally, still a real jerk."
Go read it and ask yourself if you really want this JERK in the White House.

Barking Moonbat Of The Week Award
This week's Barking Moonbat Of The Week Award is a "two-fer". We have two outstanding examples of Moonbat behavior:First, Commissioner Richard Ben -Veniste, head of the 9/11 Commission gets an award for this exchange with Dr. Condaleeza Rice:
Ben-Veniste: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6th PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?
Rice: I believe the title was, Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States. Now, the . . .
Ben-Veniste: Thank you.
Rice: No, Mr. Ben-Veniste . . .
Ben-Veniste: I will get into the . . .
Rice: I would like to finish my point here.
Ben-Veniste: I didn't know there was a point.
Rice: Given that--you asked me whether or not it warned of attacks.
Ben-Veniste: I asked you what the title was.
Rice: You said, did it not warn of attacks. It did not warn of attacks inside the United States. It was historical information based on old reporting. There was no new threat information. And it did not, in fact, warn of any coming attacks inside the United States.
You can read the entire exchange here.
The Second Barking Moonbat Award goes to Senator Bob Graham (D-FL) and his remarks on the same subject TWO YEARS AGO:
Sen. Bob Graham (D.-Fla.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told HUMAN EVENTS May 21 [2002] that his committee had received all the same terrorism intelligence prior to September 11 as the Bush administration.
Both of these jerks have managed to make complete asses of themselves with their utterly transparent attacks on the Bush administration. Their blatant political attacks on President Bush and Dr. Rice expose them for what they are: lying, hypocritical bastards of the first degree. Ben-Veniste made a complete ass of himself on national TV Thursday while interviewing Dr. Rice and Senator Graham just never seems to shut up on the subject of blame for 9/11 - even when he had all of the same information Bush had prior to 9/11.
We are proud (spit) to present the Barking Moonbat Of The Week Award to these two idiotarians.

Waffles
From "The Newspaper Of Record", The New York Times, we get this interesting analysis of the war in Iraq from John "F'ing" Kerry ........In an interview on Wednesday with American Urban Radio Networks, Mr. Kerry described the president's Iraq policy as "one of the greatest failures of diplomacy and failures of judgment that I have seen in all the time that I've been in public life."
Still, even as he attacked Mr. Bush, Mr. Kerry was notably vague in saying how he would handle the matter as president. His advisers said he had no plans to offer a policy speech about a war that aides to Mr. Bush and Mr. Kerry alike said they now expected to provide a bloody backdrop for the campaign for months.
"Right now, what I would do differently is, I mean, look, I'm not the president, and I didn't create this mess so I don't want to acknowledge a mistake that I haven't made," Mr. Kerry said on Wednesday on CNN.

Outsourcing Or Insourcing?
The whole argument against outsourcing just got really weird. Now India is outsourcing to .... the US. That means we are "insourcing" from India. Which means more jobs for Americans. The Left has howled about losing jobs overseas. Let's see what they have to say about overseas companies coming here and hiring Americans. How much do you want to bet all you will hear is "The Sounds Of Silence".
Is it just me or does it seem like a marvelous idea to have every country outsource the things they either cannot or will not do to other countries that can? I seem to remember President Bush proposing this idea recently. Do you think the Looney Left will give Bush credit for a great idea now that it is demonstrated to work? Nah! Never happen.
The Moonbats (and John Kerry in particular) have already overlooked the millions of Americans who already have jobs thanks to foreign companies building plants in America and hiring Americans. Why should they change their idiotarian tune now?
Insourcing to America has been going on for ages. It's no surprise to most of us. The outsourcing bogeyman is just another lying trick from the Left.
Update: Take a look at what the Looney Left thinks about outsourcing. These people are absolutely insane. Memo To Moonbats: whether it's goods or jobs we are swapping with other countries, it's still called the same thing .... TRADE!
