Things That Make You Go, “HUH?? WTF??”

In a classic example of the law of unintended consequences, read this.

Frikkin’ enviro-weenie tree huggers should be sued for causing these tumors and cancers.  If it weren’t for them we’d still have lead bullets.

What the hell is in the water down there?

Please tell us someone took this environmental assclown aside and shoved one of his precious trees up his ass.

Credibility.  It All Boils Down To Credibility.

Enviro-weenies have released a report claiming global warming will be the death of us.  That’s no surprise.

A layman’s view of the above British report plus a flaying of the Kyoto Accords can be found here. Joseph Farrah correctly points out that much of this environmental shit is nothing more than a way to go after America’s wealth and hobble her abilities to stay competitive in global markets.  Nothing more than socialism, boys and girls, by idealists who are better off shot dead.

Back to the report...............how credible can you be when these pictures are splashed on the front pages of so many newspapers?

image

Or when places in the western US are drowning in cold and rain and the Sierras have gotten YARDS of snowfall?

Or when Florida is freezing all the way down to Sarasota and Fort Myers?

Yep, good timing on their part, eh?  And VERY lousy credibility.

Blame The Environmentalists

Yep!  They are responsible for all the deaths soon to result from mosquito-borne diseases in Asia as a result of the tsunami.

Why?  Margaret Sanger ooops, Rachel Carson.  Damn! I hate it when I do that.

She started this bullshit movement to get rid of DDT.  The tree-huggers had orgasms when the government banned it.

Now mosquitoes will be killing tens of thousands.  All thanks to these fruitcakes. On a yearly basis, mosquitoes kill over a million people simply because there is no access to this pesticide.

A couple of years ago I was able to get my hands on two cans of DDT.  It is still good.  I wonder if I can sell it on E-Bay?  I believe there are some Indonesians that might like it.

Deer Responsible For Deforestation?

It appears so.

The question now becomes:  how the hell will the animal loving, “mother nature can do no wrong,” enviro-wackos reconcile themselves with this?  They don’t want us to hunt the deer yet the deer are stripping forests of new growth which will cause deforestation as no new trees can grow to replace the old ones.

I say we have open season with no bag limit.

KILL BAMBI!!!!!

(thanks to Steel for the link!)

Who Do You Believe?

I led off this morning’s rants with how I find it harder and harder to believe anything told me by the media.  I now amend that statement to just about “any expert.”

Coffee was bad.  Then it was good.  Now it is bad.

Sugar was bad.  Then it was good.

Wine was bad.  Then good. Then bad. Now good.

Oils were bad.  Then polyunsaturateds were good. Then margarine was better than butter.  Now butter is better and olive oil is the best.

We were going to run out of oil.  Now we are not.

We were all going to die of hunger by 2000 due to overpopulation.  We now produce more food than ever.

We were going to have global cooling.  Then global warming.

Who the fuck do we believe?

Now a study comes out and says we need to continue to BURN FOSSIL FUELS or else the planet will get colder!  Something about sulphur dioxide particles forming a barrier to the sun’s rays.

OK!  So get out there and buy HUGE Hummers!!  Range Rovers.  Cadillac SUVs, Ferrari Testarossas.  1959 Cadillacs and Lincolns with 500 cubic inch engines without catalytic converters burning LEADED gasoline.

Hell, class dismissed.  Do whatever you want.

Antarctic Icebergs and Envro-Weenies

I’ve spent a few weeks in New Zealand while on my way to and from Antarctica to do seasonal work It’s a beautiful country and I enjoyed myself.  So when I see news articles about it, I click to read them.

Which is why this article caught my eye. The salient points are these:

1.  this summer is one of the coldest in decades
2.  February, August and December are notorious for having strong south to southwest winds
3.  Antarctica is due SOUTH

The article is about iceberg sightings off New Zealand and I could tell by reading this that scientists were chomping at the bit to attribute all this to global warming.

Yet they casually seem to ignore more facts:

1.  iceberg sightings were far more common in the 1800s because the Panama Canal was not yet built so ships HAD to take that route
2. cloud cover obscures more recent sightings of icebergs from the air and satellite

I’m just a layman but when you have chunks of the Ross Ice Shelf the size of Connecticut (4500 square miles) break off and it becomes mobile, you can fully expect to see MANY icebergs resulting from it and they will head north.

Oh, and try this at home.  Make a sheet of ice 18x48 inches and about 1/4 inch thick.  (how you do this is your problem so just play along, OK?) Set it on top of a table.  (Be quick now or it will start to melt unless you are playing inside a walk-in freezer.) Now, start sliding the 18 inch side over the lip of the table.  You know what’s coming, right?  If you keep doing so eventually the weight of the ice suspended over the edge will break off.  Hey, I didn’t invent gravity!

But that’s exactly what’s going on in Antarctica.  The Ross Ice Shelf comes off the continent and hangs suspended over the ocean.  Eventually, it, too, will break off chunks.  And last I checked, the Shelf is about the size of Texas, something like 450 miles wide by 560 miles long (260,000 square miles).  A chunk the size of Connecticut is relatively insignificant.

One more thing these moonbats won’t talk about:  the Ross Ice Shelf is now the same size it was in 1911.  So if we were making the earth hotter all last century, how come the ice mass kept increasing?

NOTE:  I almost posted this yesterday but held off.  Then later in the day I came across this fascinating story.

That HUGE Connecticut sized iceberg mentioned above?  Well, it’s broken up a bit and the biggest chuck is the size of Rhode Island.  It is also on the move and due to crash into the Drygalski Ice Tongue just somewhat northwest of McMurdo Station on Ross Island.  If you want more info on life in Antarctica, click here. I remember when it first broke off how the scientists were all excited.  Then it lodged itself against a couple of islands in a north-south attitude and the biggest fear of the National Science Foundation was what would have to be done should that iceberg break free and its northern tip move counterclockwise and lodge against the continent proper.  That would block all access to McMurdo and force an evacuation of the station and possibly the South Pole since no re-supply could take place by ship.  (Icebreakers don’t stand a chance against a 100 mile long, 10 mile wide, 1500 foot (plus) thick berg)

Anyway, the article basically confirms what I say above:

Scientists believe that the enormous piece of ice broke away as part of a long-term natural cycle (every 50-to-100 years, or so) in which the shelf, which is roughly the size of Texas, sheds pieces much as human fingernails grow and break off.

Bashing The Enviro-Weenies

These two articles warmed the cockles of my cold, cold heart.

We start with this introduction:

“Attempts by a wide array of environmentalists and scientists to link the recent Asian earthquake and tsunami to human-caused “global warming” are “abject rubbish”

And then add this which starts thusly:

A Science Magazine essay claiming there is a “scientific consensus” about human-caused “global warming” was ridiculed Monday by a British scientist, who compared such a “consensus” to the near-unanimous elections that existed in the old Soviet Union.

Where’s PETA?

Here’s one organization you won’t see PETA file lawsuits against because if they do then the enviro-wackos will come tearing down their doors.  But rich, New England democrats will use this as an excuse to keep wind farms from destroying their “views” off Long Island or Cape Cod.

Personally I think it is a wonderful example of the “law of unintended circumstance.”

Tree huggers are generally PETA lovers and Democrats so this must be causing them some serious cognitive dissonance., Maybe they’ll blow up, like those robots in the movies that violate the 3 laws of robotics.

Rats As Big As Cats

(How’s the rest of that go, anyway?)

In the Florida Keys officials are concerned that rats as large as 9 pounds may make it to the mainland and cause an ecological disaster.  They also say no one has come up with an offer for eradicating them.

So why are Boy Scout troop leaders volunteering their boys to learn shooting and hunting skills (reagrdless if badges are given or not) and turn these kids loose with .22 rifles?

The Environment and Michael Crichton

Check out George Will’s article about Michael Crichton’s new book, “State of Fear.”

In a nutshell:

Crichton’s subject is today’s fear that global warming will cause catastrophic climate change, a belief now so conventional that it seems to require no supporting data. Crichton’s subject is also how conventional wisdom is manufactured in a credulous and media-drenched society.

And yes, it sounds like the eco-freaks get their clocks cleaned.  Excuse me while I go log into my library system and reserve the book.

How Can We Ever Trust These Forons?

Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right is doing!!!

As you may know, there was a huge environmental conference going on in Buenos Aires (y’all know what that city’s name translates to, right?  How ironic.  Or fitting.  Or appropriate. Or moronic.  Or quaint.  All depends on your point of view.)

The attendees are having orgasms at having passed the Kyoto accords.  Yet the big elephant in the room is the fact that China is EXEMPT from it.  YEP!  EXEMPT!!  The most populous nation on the planet, consuming shitloads of petroleum, going through HUGE growth rates (double ours!) resulting in more factories, more consumption, more energy needs, etc.  All requiring the use of products that generate large amounts of CO2.  But the world seems more concerned about the US being the biggest polluter because it consumes 25% of the world’s energy.  Nevermind that none of these fucks acknowledges we generate 25% of the world’s production of CO2 because we produce 25% of the world’s goods and services.  Yep, add up the GDP for each country and take a percentage of the overall total.  You’ll see for yourself.)

But that’s not really the point of all this.

Here’s an article from some of those nutbags who claim:

greenhouse gas emissions are destroying the Inuit way of life and therefore must be considered a human rights violation.

Can we get any more ludicrous?  A human rights violation?  Guess who they will try and sue?  Nope, not the Canadians who share a border.  Not China.  You’ve got one more and I’ll give no more hints.

Then we have another bunch of fucktards who are:

warning the world about the dire consequences of global warming.

The Wildlife Society weighed in by saying:

The Wildlife Society, has issued a report concluding that “global warming presents a profound threat to wildlife as we know it in this country.”

And according to these granola munching, tree hugging, smelly armpit, Birkenstock wearing, greasy haired nutbags, guess who’s fault it is?

Yep!  Bush!!!!  They had this to say:

“While the Bush administration continues to deny the seriousness of global warming, temperatures continue to rise, and 2004 joins the ten warmest years on record—all occurring since 1990,”

This has supposedly been happening since 1990, right?  Hmmm, that means it happened in 1993, 94, 95, 96, 97, 97, 99, 2000.  I wonder who was President then?  But no one will ever say a bad thing about the Democrats’ St. Bill Blowjob.

Then we have this little snippet of news from The Independent, in England, saying that global warming is now causing the arctic to be brighter during winter.  What used to be solid darkness now has a twilight tinge to it.

They give two explanations:

“The entire horizon is raised like magic, like the hand of God is bringing it up,”

or

Warmer air, from global warming, is overlaying the cold air of the Arctic and the interface between the two creates a kind of “mirror in the sky” which reflects the sun’s rays from further south.

Take your pick.

But all those arguments and stories are made stupid and worthless by this article.

God, you gotta love it!!!!!!  Groups like Friends of the Earth International, Greenpeace International, and The Inuit Circumpolar Conference all agree:

the international treaty will have no impact on what they believe to be impending catastrophic global warming.

BWAH HA HA HA!!!!  Talk about cutting all their other arguments off at the knees.

My day has just been made better.

Enviro-wacko Watch

These are the same fucktards that 20 to 30 years ago were saying we’d run out of oil, that the oceans would be dead, that we’d not be able to grow food for the world’s population, and that the forests were all going to be chopped down.

DUMB, STUPID SONS OF BITCHES.

Now someone is actually calling them flawed.  About time.
