Pronunciation guide for the language declined
With a HUGE tip o' the hat to James Taranto at the Wall Street Journal for this one.Seems Mrs. Lurch objects to the way her name is pronounced.
"Americans usually pronounce "Teresa" teh-REE-seh, but she favors the more European-sounding teh-RAY-zeh."
For the grammatically and phonetically challenged out there (usually Dummycrats who failed in our public schools) here is an easy way to remember it. When you think of her and feel pronunciation-challenged, just think about what her husband stands for and the rest comes easy:
Her husband wants teh-RAY-zeh your taxes.
Think you can handle that? Good little moron, of course you can.

The Official War Bloggers Directory
The War Blogger Yellow Pages are out, thanks to The Commissar. All neatly categorized. We have been filed under "Rants". I guess they must have been reading Vilmar since I'm so kind and sweet and loveable (mwah-hah-hah-ha-ha-ha). Along with us in the "Rants" catagory are Emperor Misha and DGCI. I'd say we're in pretty damned good company there. It seems to me someone needs to come up with a Pink Pages listing of "Anti-War Bloggers". After all, we don't want to let the pussified, leftist ass-wipes of the opposition feel left out, do we? It might hurt their wittle feewings. Hmmmmmmmm ...............
Update: Naw, I can't bring myself to build a Pink Pages list. That would mean I would have to go read every one of those idiots' pages in order to categorize them and if I did that I would probably give up in exasperation and file them all under "SHIT-FER-BRAINS".

Next?
Congratulations to the IDF. Another Hamas lunatic leader goes to heaven to meet Allah and get his 72 raisins. Here is the photo of the day. This madman, Rantissi, took over Hamas recently after the Thug Mullah Ahmed Yassin was blasted out of his wheelchair. Now, Rantissi and Yassin can explain to Allah why they violated most of the laws of the Koran.
Who will be the next idiot Paleswinian to stand up, claim leadership of Hamas and yell to the media "Kill Joos! Kill Joos!"? Hmmmm ...??
Forgive me but Hamas seems to be like the snake that, when its head is bitten off, another one grows back. Unfortunately for them, Israel is like a mongoose who, after gnawing off the last snake's head, notices another one sprouting out and growing fangs. CHOMP! CHOMP! Sooner or later the snake will die. I hope sooner.
In reading this news, it is interesting to note that Arafish made no statement but one of his goons made one for him. Hehehehehehe ..... maybe The Arafish is getting concerned that the next missile will be up his ass. Memo to Israel: go fer it - that weasel should be fried ASAP!
Update: This just in .........
"Israel will regret this. Revenge is coming," senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniya told reporters at the hospital. "This blood will not be wasted. It is our fate in Hamas and it is our fate as Palestinians to die as martyrs. The battle will not weaken our determination or break our will," he said.
Prepare the next missile, guys. Another snake's head has just popped out. Lock and load!

Vroom-Vroom!
Taking a break from the general Moonbat-Bashing going on here, I decided to give you folks a treat. I've posted here a gallery of pictures taken at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum recently. If you're ever in Indianapolis, stop by the racetrack and visit the museum. You won't regret it. It's on the west side of town, not far from the airport and it's open 364 days a year. Race fans, you may start your engines! The 88th Indianapolis 500 is coming up on Sunday, May 30 and the United States Grand Prix is on Sunday, June 20.
And for every kid who has sat on the living room floor with a toy race car making "Vroom-Vroom" noises and dreaming of driving a race car at 200 MPH, take a look at the gallery of pictures from the museum ........ and dream.

What if we practiced NON-appeasement?
What if we had taken action against Iran in 1979 instead of listening to the State Department policy wonks, themselves mostly a bunch of liberals anyway? What if, instead of kissing Iranian ass and practicing appeasement we'd flattened that hellhole?Well, Victor David Hanson explores that possibility in this piece he wrote for the City Journal.
They say if you fail to study history you will be doomed to repeat it. Well, do we need to know more than this?
As long ago as the fourth century B..C.., Demosthenes warned how complacency and self-delusion among an affluent and free Athenian people allowed a Macedonian thug like Philip II to end some four centuries of Greek liberty—and in a mere 20 years of creeping aggrandizement down the Greek peninsula.
That is EXACTLY what we have here in the US--a free and affluent population stagnated by complacency. Will we awaken from it in time? If we allow whiney, pacifist liberals intent on turning over our sovereignty to the United Nations take over, our next nap may be a permanent dirt nap. We need look no further than Spain.
"The age-old lure of appeasement—perhaps they will cease with this latest concession, perhaps we provoked our enemies, perhaps demonstrations of our future good intentions will win their approval—was never more evident than in the recent Spanish elections, when an affluent European electorate, reeling from the horrific terrorist attack of 3/11, swept from power the pro-U.S. center-right government on the grounds that the mass murders were more the fault of the United States for dragging Spain into the effort to remove fascists and implant democracy in Iraq than of the primordial al-Qaidist culprits, who long ago promised the Western and Christian Iberians ruin for the Crusades and the Reconquista."
If we need more convincing that Muslims/Islamist/Arabs mean us harm, read on:
But after the murder of 3,000 Americans in 2001, Kuwaitis, in a February 2002 Gallup poll (and while they lobbied OPEC to reduce output and jack up prices), revealed an overwhelming distaste for Americans—indeed the highest levels of anti-Americanism in the Arab world.
That's the thanks we get from those ungrateful wretches! Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I need no more convincing that a complete annihilation of these freaks is long overdue. Any society/class of people/race that would support dictators rather than liberators deserve to die under the whip of brutal; dictatorship. Note to future presidents: next time any mideast country gets invaded, support the invader and invaded by selling tem arms and then nuke the whole area. That way we get to make a bit of money for our defense contractors when we allow them to sell arms to both combatants PLUS the added bonus of selling even more bombs to us in order to wipe aforementioned combatants off the face of the planet. Hey, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. (I can hear liberals now: HALLIBURTON!!! WAR FOR OIL!!!!! HALLIBURTON!!!)
Fucking moonbats.
OK, I got a little carried away. Go ahead and read this article. It really is worth it. In case you need to shut down some whiney-assed liberal complaining about why we are still in Iraq, throw a few of these at them:
Since September 11, he has removed the Taliban and Saddam Hussein, begun to challenge the Middle East through support for consensual government, isolated Yasser Arafat, pressured the Europeans on everything from anti-Semitism to their largesse to Hamas, removed American troops from Saudi Arabia, shut down fascistic Islamic “charities,” scattered al-Qaida, turned Pakistan from a de facto foe to a scrutinized neutral, rounded up terrorists in the United States, pressured Libya, Iran, and Pakistan to come clean on clandestine nuclear cheating, so far avoided another September 11

Flip flop Kerry is at it again.
For all you Kerry lovers out there, you may want to contact your local DNC office and let them know the hounds are at the door!Seems Lurch demands the release of tax records by his opponent yet refuses to do anything about making his WIFE release hers.
For the illiterati out there who think she has a "right" to a private life, never forget she married this assclown and now that he wants to run for President, admittedly the highest profile PUBLIC life there is, she will have no choice. Plus, how hypocritical of anyone to attempt to say her private life and income should have no bearing on her being the First lady. Talk about a conflict of interest!???!?!!!?! OF COURSE her position as First lady will have a GREAT BEARING on her current holdings. The cachet of the title alone will make having her on the board of directors (or in any capacity associated with any of her companies) SOAR!!
As you read this article, pay close attention to sKerry's financial status re: his home, its financing, its interest payments in relation to his "income", etc. And then try to tell me we should believe anything this moonbat says.
And, as Lurch himself is so fond of accusing, we need to ask him, "what is HE hiding?"

Day Of Evil
Today is April 15th. Memo to America: you are under legal obligation to file and pay income tax (The 16th Amendment) and the government has thousands of special agents with guns and arrest warrants to make sure you comply. The government has been borrowing money directly out of your paycheck for the past year .... and you had absolutely no choice in the matter. Now, it's time to fill out the asinine forms that make absolutely no sense and require a trained expert to understand .... just so the government can steal a little more of your hard-earned pay. For what?
Remember, you are under no obligation, legal or otherwise to pay one cent more than you have to. Go for every deduction or loophole you can find ... as long as it is legal.
"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s."
-- Luke 20:25
...... and not one red cent more.
P.S. The deadline is midnight tonight. Caesar is waiting ..........

Typical liberals
In typical liberal fashion (you know, if you can't support yourself, turn to mommy government for a handout) we find that Air America, that joke broadcast over the airwaves touting itself as "liberal talk radio," filed a complaint with the courts seeking an injunction that would force the stations in Chicago and Los Angeles to allow it to broadcast again. Thanks to The Smoking Gun for this!!

Bits And Pieces From The Middle East
President Bush tells Yassir Arafat to shove it. About time. The bad guys killed the Italian (who died defiantly) and let the Japanese go free. Whazzup with that?
Some guy pretending to be Osama is offering a truce with Europe. Maybe that's because Europe is not after his ass like the USA is. Hmmmm?
In Baghdad, an Iranian diplomat is shot dead on the street. The Iranians are there to negotiate between the coalition and their "mad Mullah". Go figure.
The 9/11 Commission, failing to blame Bush for the attacks, decided to point the finger at the CIA. First, they tie the hands of the CIA with oversight and underfunding then blame them. That just ain't right.
20,000 soldiers just found out they will have to stay in Iraq another 90-120 days before rotating out. All together now, troops: SHIT! The Pentagon is taking advantage of recently rotated in troops causing an increase in boots on the ground to escalate the effort to quiet things down before rotating out the tired troops who are already there.
Finally, Senator "Waffles" gets shouted down at a rally by someone who wants to know why he voted to go to war in Iraq but now denounces it. Mheh ....

More on Gorelick and her 9-11 commission conflict of interest
For a much better take on the outrageousness of the media's refusal to demand Jamie Gorelick step down from the 9-11 commission, I leave you with this piece from the Wall St. Journal. Here are some "teasers":
If Jamie Gorelick were a Republican, you can be sure our colleagues in the Fourth Estate would be leading the chorus of complaint that the Commission's objectivity has been fatally compromised by a member who was also one of the key personalities behind the failed antiterror policy that the Commission has under scrutiny. Where's the outrage?
Mr. Ashcroft noted, the wall did not mysteriously arise: "Someone built this wall." That someone was largely the Democrats, who enshrined Vietnam-era paranoia about alleged FBI domestic spying abuses by enacting the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
What else could we have expected from a bunch of 60's peace-nik, anti-Vietnam dope smoking, anti-establishment activists, after all?
Janet Reno herself affirmed the policy several months later in a July 19, 1995, memo that we have unearthed. In it, the then-Attorney General instructs all U.S. Attorneys about avoiding "the appearance" of overlap between intelligence-related activities and law-enforcement operations.
The policy in question is the separation of counterintelligence investigations from the more limited criminal investigations. But as far as the media is concerned, it will always be: "WHAT DID BUSH KNOW AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT!!! BUSH IS A LIAR!!! CHENEY/HALLIBURTON!!!"
Ms. Gorelick--an aspirant to Attorney General under a President Kerry--now sits in judgment of the current Administration. This is what, if the principle has any meaning at all, people call a conflict of interest. Henry Kissinger was hounded off the Commission for far less.
She may sit in judgment but you can be guaranteed the media will not lift a finger to decry this conflict of interest simply because they already sat in judgment and found bush guilty.
Slimy bastards, all of them.
P.S. OBTW, anyone else catch what could have been no end of amusement a great source of jokes had Gore won in 2000 and appointed this woman? Gore and Gorelick. Lick what, I wonder? BWAH HA HA HA

Quote Of The Day
"The truth that many people never understand, until it is too late, is that the more you try to avoid suffering the more you suffer because smaller and more insignificant things begin to torture you in proportion to your fear of being hurt."-- Thomas Merton

This was predicted!
Today is my lucky day. First, Lyana provided lyrics for a version of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" especially for that moonbat Rachel Corrie. Now I read liberal radio is being kicked out of the LA and Chicago market because it can't pay its bills. Typical liberals who can't get good jobs and then bounce checks!
RUSH WAS RIGHT!! He predicted this (as did many other who understand the fundamentals of talk radio.) You need to have something that sells and merely having a radio show where the format resembles te sample below does not mean you will succeed.
Host: Bush is a liar!!! Bush is a liar!!! Cheney/Halliburton!!! Cheney/Halliburton!!!
Caller: YEAH!!! and we're in a quagmire!
Host: The Middle Class Misery Index is the lowest ever!
Caller: Hey, but Kerry just invented it and, of course, it's going to be..."CLICK!"
Host: Ooops! Looks like we lost that caller. Bush is a liar!!! Bush is a liar!!! Cheney/Halliburton!!! Cheney/Halliburton!!!
Caller: Yeah! And all the manufacturing jobs were outsourced by Bush!!!
Host: Thank God Kerry says he will create 10 million new jobs by raising taxes on the evil rich!
Call: 10 million jobs! WOW! But, hey, I thought we only had 8.5 million unemployed. What are the economic and inflationary implications of too few employees for all those..."CLICK!"
Host: Looks like we lost another caller. Must be those evil republican cell phone manufacturers.
Read it and laugh your ass off. Stupid dumb-ass Al Franken. I can't wait to listen to Rush on this one.
NOW, who's the big fat idiot!?!?!?!

I love Ashcroft (in a non-homosexual way!)
How can you not love a guy who goes in front of a PARTISAN commission on a witch hunt to procure the head of our president and lets loose with a bomb detonating all their futile hopes and aspirations. I can imagine them all sitting around at their tables, smug in the knowledge that they would do their damnedest to blame Bush for not having done enough. So they call on Ashcroft and prepare to grill him. Then he lets loose by saying he'd had a document declassified just for them:"Although you understand the debilitating impact of the wall, I cannot imagine that the commission knew about this memorandum, so I have declassified it for you and the public to review," he said. "Full disclosure compels me to inform you that its author is a member of this commission."
I can also envision them looking at one another with that "WHO FARTED?" look trying to figure out who he was talking about.
Get 'em, John!!!! he was, of course, talking about Jamie Gorelick, a member of the 9-11 commission who, as deputy attorney general wrote a memo basically handcuffing our intelligence operations and preventing intelligence agents from sharing information with their law enforcement counterparts.
You can read her memo here.
And, oh by the way, thanks, Bill Clinton, you moron, defiler of all good things American, piece of shit extraordinaire who pandered to public opinion rather than do the right thing. Thanks to you, in large part, we now have this big mess to fix. Asshole!
Turns out Gorelick even attempted to go after Condi Rice and tried to blame her for not having instituted enough change at the FBI. This, from a woman who sat through Clinton's administration for 8 years and did nothing herself but hamstring those organizations.
Now, from two different sides we are hearing demands she step down because of conflict of interest. I wish both House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner and the Landmark Legal Foundation lots of luck on this one.
But, of course, even after all this we will hear nothing from the media but, "BUSH LIED!! BUSH LIED!! CHENEY/HALLIBURTON!! CHENEY/HALLIBURTON!!

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
