Memories of 9-11 Contest
Down to 5 days and counting to enter our "Memories Of 9-11 Contest" (see sidebar). We just got another one from Scott. Give it a read. Incentivize yourself!!This commentary is so good we leave it here as further incentive. It's an editorial at Opinion Journal by Debra Burlingham. Ms. Burlingame, a life-long Democrat, is the sister of Charles F. "Chic" Burlingame, III, captain of American Airlines flight 77, which was crashed at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.
She has some very definite opinions about the recent fuss over President Bush's ads reminding us of 9-11. Go read it .... and then submit your essay. The time for submissions ends March 14, 2004 (next week). Then the judging begins. There are several really great entries already. Take a moment and read them.
NEVER FORGET!

Moonbat Of The Week Award
It appears Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion Of The Christ" has flushed out quite a few Barking Moonbats out there. But this loony woman in Connecticut takes the prize .... literally.
Of course you realize I will now have to go back and see "The Passion" again. I evidently missed the big car chase scene.

Moonbat Of The Week Award
This has been a busy week, what with kicking off the 9-11 Contest, trying to finish loading up a new Linux server on my home network and handling all the problems at the office. However, there are Barking Moonbats out there and they deserve recognition at all costs, therefore this week's award goes to this woman:We will hold the trophy until she is released from prison.

Moonbat Of The Week Award
This week's Barking Moonbat Award goes not to a single individual (although reporter Andrew Gilligan certainly qualitifes all by himself), but to the largest news organization in the world .... the BBC. Our Moonbat friends across the pond have shown us that the American Media is not at the top of the Moonbat food chain. A reporter falsifies a story that damages Tony Blair, causing the reporter's "source" to commit suicide. Then one of Britain's exteemed judges reviews the whole affair and finds the news company guilty of fraud. Major resignations at the BBC follow and Blair is exonerated. Unfortunately a British scientist is dead due to all this muck-raking and slander. We would like to extend our sympathies to our British friends. Any time you blokes want to get started wiping out the Moonbat media in our two countries, let us know. We'll be glad to provide you with arms and ammunition, since your government has taken all of yours away. Don't worry. We have plenty here in America and we are more than willing to share in a good cause.

Barking Moonbat Of The Week Award
This week's winner was the easiest to choose so far. The winner is Timothy Dumouchel. Four years ago he cancelled his Cable TV service. Charter Communications stopped billing him but neglected to cut off the cable service so he has had free Cable TV for the last four years. Now he is suing Charter. Why? Listen to his explanation below:“I believe that the reason I smoke and drink every day and my wife is overweight is because we watched TV every day for the last four years,” Dumouchel stated in a written complaint against the company.
But wait ...... there's more ......
"Timothy Dumouchel wants $5,000 or three computers, and a lifetime supply of free Internet service from Charter Communications to settle what he says will be a small claims suit."
No word yet on when Timothy plans to stop at McDonalds for a cup of hot coffee.
The runner-up this week couldn't even come close to that but the Godfather Of Soul did give us a graphic image of "a bad hair day".

Barking Moonbat Of The Week Award
Ah, it's award time again. So many choices, so few awards but only the worst deserve this award. This week, after due examination by the judges the award goes, unanimously to France's firefighters. These ass-heads in the most useless country in the world actually hired teenage arsonists to help them keep their jobs. Why, oh why did we ever make the Germans give France back to the French? Methinks that was a bad decision.Posted by The Skipper

Quote Of The Day
"The Ten Commandments display was removed from the Alabama Supreme Court building. There was a good reason for the move. You can't post Thou Shalt Not Steal, Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery and Thou Shall Not Lie in a building full Of lawyers and politicians without creating a hostile work environment."Heh.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
- Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
