Another Obamafuscation

Sayeth the Obamessiah yesterday:

Ok, let’s try to figure out what this dimwit is talking about by examining the context. Maybe there’s some nuance there I missed.

“It also depends on the teacher in East L.A., or the nurse in Appalachia, the after-school worker in New Orleans, the Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, the Foreign Service officer in Indonesia,” he said.

Obama had first outlined many of the proposals he talked about Wednesday during appearances in Iowa last December.

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” he said Wednesday. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

He said he would make federal assistance conditional on school districts establishing service programs and set the goal of 50 hours of service a year for middle and high school students.

For college students, Obama would set the goal at 100 hours of service a year and create a $4,000 annual tax credit for college students that would be tied to that level of service.

Ah so desu ka! Obie is talking about a forced volunteer labor force. WHAT??? Cuz you know, “arbeicht mach frei”. Hey , it says so right over the gate up there next to the guard tower. Look! Ok, and if the schools don’t bend the child labor laws to make their students pick up litter and change the Depends at the old folk’s homes, then the school won’t get any tax dollars. That is exactly what he is saying, isn’t it?

I was talking with my mother last week about the Big BO. She doesn’t really get involved in politics, but she brought up this very issue. It turns out that all the local school kids - and those in many many other parts of the country ( I have no kids so I had no idea ) - are already forced to do many hours of volunteer work. Required. Mandatory. And not as some kind of punishment either. She had seen or read some news item where quite a number of young folks had responded to this idea of Barry’s with a “Hey man, I’ve done my time. Get somebody else.”

Now I’m even more confused. Obama wants to set up a huge and insanely expensive federal program to pay schools to force your children to secure the nation? So we’re going to have 4th graders manning the border checkpoints? 8th graders guarding nuclear reactors? High school freshmen fighting crime and stopping the drug gangs? As volunteers?

That can’t be it. He has to be talking about something else. He can’t mean real national security objectives. Things like winning wars, securing the borders, etc. Even though those were his EXACT words. He’s got to be talking about the OTHER kind of national security objectives. Like planting flowers in the parks. And feeding the hungry. And bathing the hippies. And ensuring absolute political correctness. And making sure nobody has any opinion different from his. And ... um, wait, I’m back to describing the Brown Shirts again, ain’t I? Oops.

I’m just spinning around in circles here. Does anyone actually listen to what this buffoon says? He wants to conscript your children! Young Pioneers? Hitler Youth? What the fuck is going on in this guy’s head? And remember, these are words from a carefully prepared speech he gave. A speech where someone else artfully made coherent and concise the blurred visions and sound bites that rattle around inside his mind.

And the keynote of his speech? “Our destiny as Americans is tied up with one another,” he said. “If we are less respected in the world, then you will be less safe.” Does anybody have a spare Babelfish in my size that can handle DoubleSpeak? TripleSpeak? What does this mean? We all have to work together to make things better in America (nothing specific, just draft the youth to do volunteer work) because if the rest of the world respects us for planting flowers and feeding the hungry (you know, those poor Americans who are already obese), then they will attack us less often. Is that it? Because, and correct me if I’ve missed something, “we” here in America have been attacked exactly twice since the end of WWII (and the only attacks then were the 6 or 7 shells a jap submarine lobbed at the west coast): the 1st World Trade Center bombing in 1993, and the 2nd WTC attack on 9/11. That’s it. Total. Since the end of the War of 1812. And not a single attack since then, even though Chimpy McHitlerburton, the moronic evil mastermind and all his failed policies, has been in charge doing his utmost to make the rest of the world lose respect for us, which has made us so less safe that we’ve been attacked ... not at all. And I’m pretty sure not one of our Navy’s ships has been bombed, nor have any of our embassies been overrun. We haven’t even had an airliner hijacked. Um, maybe you can send me the latest updated Babelfish that can handle QuadraSpeak. With the giant bullshit filter please. I think I need it to figure this Obama guy out. WTF.

We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
