The mother of the young Swedish social worker who was allegedly stabbed to death by a 15-year-old asylum seeker at a shelter for refugee children wept today and said, ‘She was not just my daughter, she was my angel.’
Alexandra Mezher, 22, was working alone with ten youths aged between 14 and 17 when she was attacked at the home for unaccompanied young migrants in Mölndal, near Gothenburg. She later died of her injuries in hospital.
Chiméne Mezher, 42, today spoke of her anguish at the loss of her daughter as the family blamed Swedish politicians for her death. Sweden is one of the main destinations for refugees and migrants entering the EU and police warn they cannot cope with the tide of migrant-related crime.
Miss Mezher’s cousin also told Swedish media: ‘It is the Swedish politicians’ fault that she is dead.’
The incident comes amid rising tensions over migration in Sweden. The number of threats and violent incidents at asylum facilities doubled between 2014 and 2015.
Police have warned the city’s train station is ‘overrun’ by gangs of migrants who are ‘groping’ women and have called for more resources to cope.
Prime minister Stefan Lofven has also admitted that many people are fearful of a similar attack because ‘Sweden receives so many children and youths arriving alone’. Last year Sweden took in more than 160,000 asylum seekers in 2015, putting it among the EU states with the highest proportion of refugees per capita.
Alexandra, of Lebanese Christian origin, lived with her parents Boutros, 46, and Chiméne Mezher, and her younger brothers in Borås, some 40 miles from Molndal.
Her father came to Sweden from Beirut, Lebanon, in 1989 and her mother moved there three years later.
It has now emerged that Miss Mezher had been working alone at the housing in Mölndal, which is home to ten unaccompanied minors.
Police said Miss Mezher was attacked shortly before 8am on Monday by a boy, who was then apprehended by other children living at the centre.
She was taken to Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg, but died later on Monday as a result of her injuries.
Officers discovered a knife at the scene and the teenager has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Swedish police have today praised the actions of the other children living in the facility, hailing them ‘heroes’ after they overpowered the boy after he attacked Miss Mezher.

Almost all we have heard over the last few weeks is the weeping and hand wringing over those poor, poor unaccompanied youths whose needs must be cared for.
We keep hearing over and over about “children”. Children my butt. In today’s world, youth ends pretty early. Even in my day, we knew right from wrong and we knew what a criminal was. Even in my day we weren’t all that innocent at age 12.
But heck ... what else can we expect from a yootful muzzbot ?
Oh poor kid, they’ll send him to a youth center of some kind for a few years. Or maybe no years, as after all, the kid is actually, under age.
Is that some crap er what?
But life is over for the young volunteer, age 22. The poor girl volunteered because she wanted to help others.
Unfortunately, sadly, those she was trying to do good deeds for, aren’t humans. Her time and efforts would have been more profitably spent, helping out at some animal rescue center.
Of the thousands of “children” who have made the crossing and managed to get themselves situated, with public purse benefits of course,
one can not help but wonder how long it will be before mommy and daddy and some first cousin, also get a pass to join up with, their kids.
There is so much more I want to say and can’t find the right words.

A British Islamist fanatic dubbed “The Surgeon” led an Isil-inspired plot to assassinate police and soldiers in a series of drive-by shootings in the UK, a court heard.
It is alleged medical student Tarik Hassane, 22, was the ringleader of a four-man terror cell that had obtained a gun and silencer and were looking to buy a scooter which would have resulted in a “terrorist murder or murders on the streets of London”, the Old Bailey was told
He also conducted “hostile reconnaissance” online of Shepherd’s Bush police station and the Parachute Regiment Territorial Army barracks in White City, jurors were told.
He had declared allegiance to Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (Isil) just a month after it had declared itself the Islamist State in June 2014.
Hassane planned to become a “lone wolf” attacker after his co-conspirators were arrested, the court was told.
Close friend Suhaib Majeed, a physics student, was allegedly an “essential cog in the machine” of the plot and responsible for secret communications.
Nathan Cuffy supplied the weapon and “armed the plot” while Nyall Hamlett was the “middleman” between him the other two, jurors were told.
Opening the prosecution case, Brian Altman QC said: “With their arrests, the police successfully disrupted a plot to kill a police officers, a soldier or possibly even a civilian, in one or more terrorist attacks, which, if the plot had been allowed to run its course would have resulted in a terrorist murder or murders on the streets of London, according to the warped ideology of the defendants, in the cause, and for the sake, of Allah.
“The plot was undoubtedly influenced by the happenings in Syria and Iraq and the rise of Isil, which in late June 2014 was renamed Islamic State, when the organisation pronounced itself to be a worldwide Caliphate.”
Although the plot was already underway, the group was inspired by a fatwa issued by Isil in September 2014 that called on followers to “kill disbelievers” in the West, he added.
“This was no religious edict or verdict. This was nothing short of direct encouragement and incitement to Muslims living in the West to go out and kill non-believers in their home countries,” Mr Altman said.
The four deny conspiracy to murder, preparing terrorist acts and a series of related charges.
A fifth man, Ayman Aziz - a close associate of Hassane and Majeed, the “central figures in the plot” - was in contact with Hassane and occasionally in London. He is believed to be abroad, the court was told.
Mr Altman told the jury that although the “finer details” of the plot had not been worked out, they were advanced enough to have acquired a gun and ammunition.

If you think this is bad, and it assuredly is, there’s as bad to come from France, where migrant filth being led by British Socialists carrying red flags and poster signs reading, No Borders, Let them all in, have led migrant vermin on a rampage and even managed to storm a ferry and for a time, occupy it.
And just to give you one example of why these things take place. One of those Britons was arrested and then released without charge, instead of having his legs broken and then shot dead. Activists like these are the curse, bullets are the cure. The only cure.

Swedish police warns that Stockholm’s main train station has become unsafe after being ‘taken over’ by dozens of Moroccan street children.
The all-male migrant teen gangs are spreading terror in the centre of the Swedish capital, stealing, groping girls and assaulting security guards, according to Stockholm police.
Members of the gangs, some as young as nine, roam central Stockholm day and night, refusing help provided by the Swedish authorities.
Sweden has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Moroccan under-18s who apply for asylum without a parent or guardian in the past four years, with many later running away from the housing provided to live on the streets in the capital.
Stockholm police estimate that at least 200 Moroccan street children move in the area around the main train station in the centre of the capital, sleeping rough, and living off criminal activity.
‘These guys are a huge problem for us. They steal stuff everywhere and assault security guards at the central station,’ one police officer told SVT.
‘They grope girls between their legs, and slap them in the face when they protest. All police officers are aware of this.
‘I would never let my children go to the central station. No officer would.’

Migrants torch Calais camp in violent clashes with police, trucker robbed and injured
I think I’ve already said it all in previous posts.
Bottom line.

As fires raged, refugees shouted ‘f*** you’ and let off fireworks towards police while fighting eviction from the Calais squat.
Tear gas and baton charges were used by officers as they tried to restore order.
Around 300 migrants refuse to be moved from the camp to a purpose-built shelter because it would force them to be fingerprinted in France and therefore prevent them applying for asylum in Britain.
The footage was posted on Facebook on Wednesday by the French group Calais Libre with the comment: ‘Here are the expelled migrants in action last night, and you can hear the pretty words that they use (f***, f***, f*** you)’.
Meanwhile, a lorry driver was reportedly hospitalised after being robbed by a gang of migrants at knifepoint and sprayed with tear gas.
The Lithuanian trucker was allegedly attacked by three refugees at a garage in the French port.The attackers made off his wallet and mobile phone, it was reported by The Daily Express which cited local media.
Police are studying CCTV as part of their investigation.
Tensions have erupted all week after the Pas de Calais prefecture handed the migrants an ultimatum to get out of a stretch of the Jungle before it was demolished.Hundreds of migrants yesterday also clashed with French riot police while trying to jump on trucks bound for Britain.
Officers again used tear gas to break up around 300 refugees gathering near the Eurotunnel entrance.
Some migrants have began blocking the port road or throwing stones to slow down UK-bound traffic so they can jump aboard.
Police fear there will be more trouble as the attempts to evict the migrants intensify.EU plans to force Britain to accept 90,000 refugees in the next year as part a quota will make Calais ‘even more of a magnet’ to migrants.
There has been widespread fury at the plans from Brussels but a failure to agree a quota could see the UK denied the right to deport asylum seekers to their country of arrival.
Number 10 last night vowed to fight the proposal, which is a major blow to David Cameron’s EU referendum ambitions.
The European Commission wants a new quota system under which member states share out the estimated 1.3million people expected to arrive in Europe this year.

First some good news.

the numbers depend on which paper you’re reading.
The really, really awful and depressing news is ….

In other happenings here ….
It’s been transgender this and transgender that for weeks now.
By which I mean, in the news. Even some laws are about to change, or new ones introduced. There’s even an investigation into what is described as “the last bastion of acceptable institutional discrimination”.
I really had no idea they were being discriminated against. Unless authorities and those in power regard just looking askance at one, is some kind of hate crime. Hey, this is modern Britain. It could come to that and the USA also. And why not?
The whole f*&%!^g world is mad .
So help me out here. Does this decision mean that a guy who wants to be a she, will compete against females? I don’t follow the Olympics. Don’t even follow baseball anymore. I don’t much care who competes against who. But it just somehow seems odd.
The policy change would be in line with NCAA standards in the United States, which allow male-to-female and female-to-male transgender athletes to compete without having gender reassignment surgery, according to ESPN.
The current Olympic rules acknowledge transgender athletes’ right to compete, but with specific provisions under the Stockholm Consensus, which was adopted in 2004.
The policies, adopted before the Athens Olympics, say transgender athletes have to have gender reassignment surgery and have legal recognition of the gender they were assigned at birth. They also have to have undergone at least two years of hormone replacement therapy after surgery.
The proposed new rules would allow transgender athletes to compete after one year of hormone replacement therapy and no surgery is required.

"Outside a wind was rising”
Yes indeed. I slept late - almost to 6am - and we’ve got about 5” worth so far. The snow is coming down with strength, and most of it is falling sideways. Because the wind, right? A good shot of wind makes the old wind chill thingy seem like it’s colder, but it’s a face full of stinging ice crystals hitting you at about 25mph that turn “bloody cold” into “sod this, I’m going back to bed”.
So to fight that urge I’ve chosen Breakfast B, blueberry waffles with brown ‘n serve pork sausages, brisk coffee and OJ, and the pieces are warming up out on the kitchen counter. Meanwhile I’m working on coffee #2 while Miss Dizzy rubs herself around my legs and jumps on and off my lap a dozen times. I set her up with her own chair so she can help blog, but mainly she just wants to get up on the desk to find something to swat around. Like grapes. Not that there are any grapes on my desk, but she did find out about them last night. And we had cheap entertainment watching the cat race back and forth with the little grape branches, and then try to pick up and carry a few of the little purple spheres from one side of the room to the other. Sorry kitteh, you’re not an es-squirrel. No cheek pouch. No way to do it except to open your little mouth as yawning wide as it goes, grab one and run. And drop it. And have to find it. And repeat the process every 8 or 9 inches across the whole living room.
Ahh, I’ve heard the first howl of wind. It’s more like a whistle, but it’s enough so we’re “officially” blizzarding.

We interrupt this somnambulant grey afternoon with rude slug of reality ... it’s not stopping, it’s getting worse ... we’ve got a foot on the ground and it’s hardly lunchtime.
NYC enters panic mode as the white stuff piles up, flooding up and down the Jersey shore.
UPDATE II: Oops they changed us again!
Putting us solidly in the 24-30” group. Well, duh. All I have to do is to step outside. We’re already there and may get more than that.

let it snow let it snow let it snow
The Big Storm kicked off almost exactly at the predicted time, letting us finish bowling (we won one game) and doing a quick run to the grocery store.
Now it’s coming down, and the latest prediction is that we’ll pick up 8” tonight and another 16” tomorrow. The storm is predicted to last until late tomorrow afternoon.
Right. So we’re ready here. Got gas in the cars. Topped off their fluids and checked the tire pressures. Parked them facing out and downhill, so they can be jumped or bumped if necessary.
I’m pretty sure we’ve got enough food for the next 10 days or so. 4 kinds of breakfast meats, frozen waffles, pancakes from mix, plenty of eggs, fresh milk for a couple different kinds of cold cereal, and of course, oatmeal.
Several cans of soup, a couple loaves of bread, 6 kinds of sandwich meat, 2 cheeses, lettuce, tomato, and several jars of peanut butter.
Snacks ... covered from candy bars to chips to trail mix to nuts, berries, and two kinds of grapes. Frozen pizzas just in case.
Fresh salad for dinner, 4 frozen vegetables, chicken, pork rib ends, about 20 ounces of thawed tri-tip steak, a bag of frozen fries and 5lb of Russet potatoes from Idaho. Not to mention the iron rations of canned tuna and Spam. And spaghetti sauce.
And of course drinks. Soda, ice tea, fresh milk, fruit juices, teas and coffee. Somewhere there is also beer.
Dishes are done. Laundry is done. Plenty of towels and blankets. Cell phones charged and fresh batteries in several flashlights. Extra toilet paper on standby.
Garbage and recycling are out. Beer is cooling in the snow. Outside cats fed, inside cats fed, extra kibble and cat food set and ready.
Snow shovel by the door, ice melt in a covered 5 gallon bucket.
If the power fails I can grill, got a spare tank of propane in the garage, and we even have some dry wood in case we need to make a fire in the fireplace.
Yup. Be prepared ... and we are. Our beep is as repaired as it can be.

Proving that they have far too much time on their hands and nothing much else to do, Britain’s Parliament pulls a chuffy and gets it’s knickers in a soggy twist. Over Donald Trump. WTF???
London (CNN): Donald Trump is used to being the one doing the tough talk.
But on Monday the Republican presidential hopeful was on the receiving end of the harsh words—with no opportunity of rebuttal—as British MPs made their disdain for him clear during a parliamentary debate on whether to ban him from the country.
In doing so, the parliamentarians served up blunter criticisms than some of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination have landed, labeling the 69-year-old “poisonous,” “a buffoon” and even a “wazzock”—British slang for “a stupid or annoying person.”
“I don’t think Donald Trump should be allowed within 1,000 miles of our shore,” Jack Dromey, the Labour Party’s shadow home affairs minister, told the assembled MPs.
The debate was triggered by a public petition launched in the wake of Trump’s call to ban Muslims from the U.S., which called on the British parliament to ban Trump from the country for hate speech.
It received more than 576,000 signatures—more than five times the number required for MPs to consider sending the matter for debate in parliament.
But the debate was non-binding, with no vote taken at the end, and was always going to be used by MPs as an opportunity to vent their thoughts on the divisive Republican under the protection of parliamentary privilege, which legally shields them from accusations of defamation or slander.
Trump’s camp responded to the debate via a statement from one of his companies Monday.
Sarah Malone, executive vice president of Scotland-based Trump International Golf Links labeled the debate “ridiculous” and “absurd,” saying the British Parliament was setting a “dangerous precedent” and “sending a terrible message to the world.”
But at least one of the MPs participating in the debate felt that the brash New Yorker was unlikely to be overly concerned about the opinions of a gathering of British MPs.
“I’m not sure that he’s going to be terribly worried about this debate,” said Conservative MP Sir Edward Leigh.
Probably not. That’s his New York Attitude coming through again.

I am needed elsewhere but just had to share this. You might have seen it already.
Meanwhile ... invaders continue to land in Europe and there is to be sure a backlash. But it won’t really amount to much unless European patriots in numbers, which so far they apparently lack, start stacking up the bodies in impressive enough numbers to discourage any others from coming, and to scare the hell out of the weak/left Euro leadership. And they need to utterly destroy the 5th column and the rights industry. Usually the same ppl.
Oh and get this new demand from the EU regarding migrants. These folks just never learn.
An EU commission is demanding that Britain agree to accept migrant quotas. They are demanding Britain sign up to the quota system, or be blocked from deporting thousands of asylum seekers.
Which has nothing to do with my post this morning. I just thought you’d find it of some insane interest.

Built between 582 and 590AD by Assyrian Christian monk Dair Mar Elia, from which it took the name, the holy site dear to the Chaldean Catholic community been a place of pilgrimage for centuries. Damaged in the 2003 Iraqi war, it was briefly turned into an Iraqi and later US military encampment before its cultural value was recognized and a preservation project started.
Mosul fell to IS (Daesh) fighters along with large swathes of Iraq in spring 2014. The jihadi group has systematically blown up or bulldozed ancient monuments it perceives as blasphemous symbols of different religions in areas it controls.
World heritage sites in Nineveh, Palmyra and Hatra are among the more than 100 religious and historic sites, including mosques, shrines and churches that have fallen the victim to IS iconoclastic violence.
The St Elijah’s Monastery was one of the first to fall into IS’s hands but the destruction had not before been confirmed. An analysis of the satellite photos pinpointed the date somewhere 27 August and 28 September 2014.

The revelation came a day after the UN reported IS had repeatedly blown up houses of Christians living in Iraq in an attempt to consolidate its brutal rule by punishing minorities and potential opponents. In a report on the conflict, the world body said it documented the destruction of at least 31 Christian homes in the Mosul area from May to October 2015.
And in a bit of side news.
IS is alleged to have committed a series of atrocities in 2015. On 10 July militants forced victims to lie to down in central Mosul in front of a large bulldozer, which drove over them. On 1-2 August IS militants allegedly killed 19 women in Mosul for refusing to have sex with fighters.
On 21 June women were offered as sex slaves to the top three winners of a Quran memorisation competition in Mosul. On 23 June an IS group video shows men placed in a car and hit by rocket-propelled grenade, men drowned in a cage and men decapitated with explosives.
It also contains claims that a group of child soldiers fleeing the frontline in Anbar province were killed.
But the west must play by rules. And play is the correct word, even if ISIS isn’t playing at what they do.

I was just going to mention quickly that the old Satrun seems just fine now. I got it nice and warm before parking it earlier this morning, and when I went out around 7:45 to do my evening job she started right up. And I sat there and let the car warm up, which is something I almost never do. Got me down to Flemington, no problems, then started up again easily and got me home.
For 3 days this frozen week I had only run it for about 90 seconds twice a day. That’s how long my commute takes, including a stopover to put the cap on the electric eye so the power in the guard shack stays on once the sun comes up.
Cat is being extra helpful tonight. She’s very understanding and flexible ... as long as I understand that her needs are to be met instantly and fully without regard to what I might be doing, then she’s flexible enough to allow me to meet all her needs. Somehow an 8lb blind cat has become the boss of me.
