More Willful Blindness

“This does not appear to be a hate crime.” says Police Chief Tim Brinkley

20 Black Men Beat White Guy Into A Coma

“This is for Michael Brown”

A West Point [Mississippi] man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he and a friend were attacked by a group of around 20 [male, black] people in a Huddle House parking lot, police said, potentially as retaliation for Michael Brown’s killing.

Ralph Weems IV, who is white, was injured early Saturday but is now in fair condition at North Mississippi Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Genie Causey said.

A relative, Bradley Barnes of Madison, told The Associated Press by telephone on Sunday that his brother-in-law was in a medically induced coma following brain surgery.

‘They’re going to try and wake him up tomorrow and see what damage was done,’ Barnes said, describing Weems as a 32-year-old former Marine who had served in Iraq.

Police Chief Tim Brinkley told the Clarion-Ledger that 22-year-old Courtez McMillian of Okolona was arrested on Monday evening.

He is being held in the Clay County Detention Center and will be charged with aggravated assault.

Brinkley said other arrests are also pending, and that most, if not all of the assailants appear to come from Monroe County. Detectives are reviewing video footage of the incident.

David Knighten of West Point told AP earlier by phone that he and Weems had gone to a Waffle House early Saturday.

He said a black man waved him over outside the restaurant and told him politely that people were upset by the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and it wasn’t a safe place for whites.

When he went in, he said, Weems was inside and was arguing with a round seven black men.

They left after an argument that brought police, Knighten said.

Brinkley said a Waffle House employee told officers who answered a 1 a.m. disturbance call that a patron was creating a disturbance and upsetting other patrons.

After he was asked to leave, employees also asked the other patrons to leave, Brinkley said.

Knighten said he showed those officers his .45-caliber handgun and his concealed carry permit.

On the way to Weems’ house, Knighten said, they went into a Huddle House restaurant with a nearly vacant parking lot.

However, he said, they apparently had been followed by a group of more than 20 black men.

Knighten, who said he had served with the Air Force in Afghanistan, said he came out of the restroom to find Weems surrounded.

The story is a bit hard to follow. Two guys go to a restaurant, but in the few seconds it takes the one guy to get told a warning, his buddy is in a big argument inside. The cops come. They leave. They go somewhere else, but a crowd has followed them. So the one guy goes inside to use the bathroom? And then they get tossed out of that second place, but by the time guy #2 (Knighten) is through the door his buddy is already down and beaten half to death. WTF? But he didn’t use, or brandish his legal gun, and he didn’t get the owners of restaurant #2 to call the police ... no, the 2 of them just went out into a crowd of 20 wound up black guys? And it took Knighten that much extra time to go through the door that his pal was already down?

Go read the rest of the story, and see if it makes any sense to you. BUT it says in no uncertain terms that the crowd of goons was yelling for revenge for Michael Brown. But oh no, this can’t be a hate crime. Only if you’re a shit-filled leftist who defines “hate crime” as something perpetrated by whites on other races. PS - Chief Brinkley is Black.

Knighten told reporters he was trying to diffuse the situation [at the 2nd restaurant]. When a security guard told everyone to leave, Knighten said he was blocked from getting to Weems, who was on the ground being kicked by a group of people. Knighten said others then attacked him.

“I do remember racial slurs being yelled from the crowd,” he told the Associated Press.

another authorities are paralysed with fear of being accused of racism and Islamophobia

The Jihad Against Your Daughters

Pedophile muzzies have “groomed” thousands of underage girls

For Rape, Prostitution, Beatings ... while Authorities sat on their hands

How fear of being seen as racist stopped social workers saving up to 1,400 children from sexual exploitation at the hands of Asian men in just ONE TOWN

[ don’t forget that “Asian” doesn’t only mean “Chinese” in Europe. It means Middle Eastern as well. ]

The sexual abuse of about 1,400 children at the hands of Asian men went unreported for 16 years as staff feared they would be seen as racist, a report said today.

Children as young as 11 were trafficked, beaten, and raped by large numbers of men between 1997 and 2013 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the review into child protection revealed.

And shockingly, more than a third of the cases were already know to agencies.

But according to the report’s author: ‘several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought racist’.

Professor Alexis Jay, who wrote the report, condemned the ‘blatant’ collective failures by the council’s leadership, concluding: ‘It is hard to describe the appalling nature of the abuse that child victims suffered.’

The landmark report which exposed widespread failures of the council, police and social services revealed:

The lack of reports was partly down to a fear of being racist, Prof Jay wrote, as the majority of the perpetrators were described as ‘Asian men’, and many were said to be of Pakistani origin.

One young person told the inquiry that ‘gang rape’ was a usual part of growing up in the area of Rotherham where she lived.

In two cases, fathers had tracked down their daughters and tried to remove them from houses where they were being abused - only to be arrested themselves when police were called to the scene.

And one child declined her initial offer to give a statement after allegedly receiving a text from a perpetrator threatening to harm her younger sister.

The failures happened despite three reports between 2002 and 2006 ‘which could not have been clearer in the description of the situation in Rotherham’.

Plenty more at the link. The point is, the CRAVEN people in charge knew all about it, from the social workers to the cops to the school teachers. And all of them were too afraid of being “labeled” non-PC. So they let children die. For fear of being labeled, they allowed children to be raped repeatedly. For fear of being labeled, they let children be physically abused, abducted, and sold into prostitution.

Why is there not a revolution going on?

Oh, and Rotherham? This isn’t some city in the Netherlands, although it sounds like one. ROTHERHAM IS IN ENGLAND. (Central England, east of Liverpool and Manchester)

And what will happen to all the government workers, who turned a knowing, cowardly blind eye? NOT A DAMN THING:

No council employees will face disciplinary action in a town where 1,400 children suffered sexual exploitation in a 16-year period, the local authority’s chief executive has said.

Rotherham Council leader Roger Stone resigned today following the publication of a shocking report which detailed gang rapes, grooming, trafficking and other sexual exploitation on a wide scale in the South Yorkshire town.

But council chief executive Martin Kimber said he did not have the evidence to discipline any individuals working for the council despite the report saying there had been ‘blatant’ collective failures by its leadership at the time.

Is there not a man left in that green and pleasant land with any spine? Is there no English woman there with righteous anger? Are there no fathers, no mothers? Have all the villagers turned in their pitchforks and torches? Are they having a major rope and piano wire shortage over there?

GHOLY SHIITE you cowardly imbeciles, it’s time to tear this place apart!!

authorities are paralysed with fear of being accused of ‘racism’ and ‘Islamophobia

Richard Littlejohn wrote the following, after photos and a video was published of five muslim Brits, at the airport and flying off to Turkey, and from there to the war zones, to join up with the IS terrorists.  One of them is is now dead, another actually flunked out of the IS training camp and returned to Britain, where he was arrested on arrival.
Littlejohn had a few questions as well as observations on the topic.

When the photo was taken, were they already under surveillance? And if not, why not?

The group had booked cheap flights through Thomas Cook to Turkey, a known stopping-off point for wannabe jihadists crossing into Syria. Didn’t this arouse any suspicions?

These five young men certainly fitted the profile of Isis recruits. They all come from British Muslim backgrounds and are aged between 19 and 31.

Of course, that doesn’t automatically make them terrorists, but it should be enough to raise a few eyebrows. After all, it is reported that up to 30 radicalised young Muslims are travelling from Britain to Syria, via Turkey, every month.

Wouldn’t it have been worth the security services giving them a gentle tug and subjecting them to a little light interrogation before they boarded the plane?

But we don’t go in for that kind of ‘profiling’ in this country, no matter how sensible it seems. Mustn’t be discriminatory.

The authorities are paralysed with fear of being accused of ‘racism’ and ‘Islamophobia’.

Which is why the pictures I’d like to see, if they exist, would be those taken in the security screening area. What’s the betting that these five young men were waved through after the most cursory checks?

Meanwhile, the CCTV footage would almost certainly show middle-aged, middle-class men and women, on their way to spend a week in Marbella with their grandchildren, being subjected to intimate body-searches.

How many times have we seen young Asian men with backpacks pass seamlessly through security while Howard and Hilda from Hemel Hempstead are forced to stand and watch as the contents of their hand-luggage are examined with forensic precision?

What qualifications do you need to become a suicide-bomber?
Do they have recruiting offices, like the regular Army, where potential jihadis are interviewed by a whiskery, battle-hardened sergeant major in the First Martyrs Regiment?

Name?
Choudhury, Mashadur.

Age?
Thirty-one.

Sex?
I want to sleep with 72 virgins.

Slow down, lovely boy. Why do you want to join Isis?

I like the uniform. My mum says black is the new black.

Apart from the uniform.

I want to murder kaffirs.

Good. What qualifications do you have?

I’ve got an ‘A’ in woodwork. I thought that might be handy when it came to beheadings.

Sorry, son, that’s a specialised job. I’ll put you down for martyrdom operations.

What’s that?

You’re going to be a suicide-bomber. Now if you’d just slip this vest on.

Er, on second thoughts, I’ll take my chances back in Britain.

Please yourself, son. I don’t think you’re cut out for this kind of work.

Any chance of a lift back to Turkey?

Next!

something to think about

The following comes from Dominic Lawson of the Daily Mail.

Words and picture say it all. I’ve nothing to add.

THE TRUE FACE OF HAMAS
The Dominic Lawson Column

image

A kneeling American is filmed being murdered by a black-clad and masked IS fighter — and it is the biggest story of the month.

Days later, 18 kneeling Palestinian captives, including two women, are filmed being murdered by black-clad and masked Hamas fighters (pictured) in Gaza — and it’s not even a headline. The extent of the difference in media treatment is puzzling.

Perhaps it’s because the conventional view is that the oppressor in Gaza is Israel rather than Hamas, and therefore there is little interest in the latter’s customary depravity.

Hamas put out a statement to the effect that the 18 men and women were executed (in front of crowds leaving prayers at a mosque) because they ‘had provided the enemy with information about the whereabouts of fighters, bombs, and places of rockets’.

That, of course, is what bothers Hamas, not the deaths of children in misdirected Israeli strikes.

Since there was no trial, we can’t know if they really were ‘collaborators’ or just political opponents.

Hamas has a way of dealing with those: in its battle to wrest control of Gaza from its rival Fatah, its thugs tossed their trussed-up enemies alive from the top of buildings.

Remember all this when you see anti-Israel protesters chanting ‘We are all Hamas now’

from the mayor of London to the world.  hellooooo

Writing in this morning’s Telegraph, the New York born quite English mayor of London has a few words.
Ah ... not really only a few. Quite a bit as it happens.
So I have just a small part here.

You might not agree to everything, but it is thought if not argument provoking.

Btw ....some ppl are calling for the govt. to revoke the citizenship of Brits who’ve gone over to the jihad side to fight, some of which have said they will bring back their skills learned over there.  While some of might be empty bragging, would anyone with a working brain discount that threat?  Right. Except my wife’s brain dead cousin Jo.  She might. But her aside.
Well, yeah as it happens.  The usual suspects on the left.

Did you guys know it was against international law to make a person “stateless” by taking away citizenship?  I only know what I read in the papers.
A good many Brits are saying F*** intl. law. This is a case of survival.  Terrorists under any label or belonging to whatever grouping, are as serious as a heart attack.  The west needs to act in any way whatever to secure the safety of our side.  There can’t be any co-existence with terrorists even if we wanted that.
They don’t want it.  They want us to all become muslims. And not just any old kind of muslim.  Gotta be their approved brand.

Do nothing, and we invite the tide of terror to our front door

As the problem of Isil worsens by the day, it is surely time to bring back control orders

By Boris Johnson

Let’s assume he is indeed who he sounds like – another deluded British-born jihadi. I am afraid I have listened, on the Telegraph website, to the voice of the man who claims to be the killer of James Foley, and there seems little doubt that he grew up in this country. He was probably born in our wonderful NHS. He was schooled in our broadly excellent education system. He and his family have very likely spent their lives, like the rest of us, cushioned by our welfare state. And this is how he chooses to pay back the gift of nurture – by engaging in terrorism, declaring his allegiance to a novel barbarian state, and publicly beheading an entirely innocent journalist.

Young men such as this killer are famously told that if they die in “battle” they will be welcomed in heaven by the sexual ministrations of 72 virgins. Many of them believe it – even though scholars have suggested that the reference to “black-eyed virgins” is in fact a promise of 72 raisins. I suspect most of us don’t give a monkey’s what happens to this prat in heaven, whether he meets virgins or raisins – we just want someone to come along with a bunker-buster and effect an introduction as fast as possible. We care less about the weird theology, and more about the state of the Earth as we know it, and here, alas, the boasts of the killer are not entirely without substance.

We are going to have to make up our minds very quickly about this “caliphate”: how we will respond to the irruption of a new and hellish country on the map, and how we deal with these Brits who go off and fight in its name. These Isil wackos now control an area the size of Great Britain, considerable oil reserves, a population of about six million, some industry, and a military capability said to be second in the region only to Israel. To take them on will not be easy, and I can see all the arguments for doing little or nothing – letting “history” take its course.

To take on Isil would probably need a vast and coordinated series of American strikes by drones and other missiles, coupled with a lot of effort from special forces. Does Washington have the will? Do we?

UPDATE

Peter Westmacott, the ambassador to Washington, disclosed that 70 militants have been arrested after returning from Syria, a number of them carrying instructions for “very specific missions” to unleash terrorist atrocities on British soil.

some bad and some good news. but not near enuff good news. subject: immigration. again.

I’ve said my piece on this subject more than once, and LyndonB has said it far better more than once.

Take a look.

THE BAD NEWS first.

Fury as mayor of Calais plans for ‘new Sangatte’: Camp will be ‘refuelling stop’ for migrants on way to UK, say MPs

Natacha Bouchart said allowing them to sleep rough was ‘unsustainable’

MPs say proposals to house 400 people will encourage more to travel to UK

Also furious at ‘welcome centre’ plans, where advice will be given to those wanting to reach Britain

France was yesterday accused of providing a ‘refuelling stop’ for illegal immigrants trying to get to Britain with plans for a new Sangatte-style refugee camp.

MPs said proposals for housing 400 people near Calais would act as a magnet, encouraging more desperate people to attempt the perilous journey to the UK.

They were also furious at plans to set up ‘welcome centres’ providing help and advice to people seeking to reach Britain’s shores. These may be used to help migrants make applications for asylum in Britain.

The row began after Calais mayor Natacha Bouchart announced plans for a state-funded camp, providing shelter, food and washing facilities, for thousands of migrants who pass through the port.

In words which have already raised the spectre of a new Sangatte, she said that allowing them all to sleep rough in her town was ‘unsustainable.’

Mayor Bouchart said: ‘Calais is today under an unbearable strain from the highest number of migrants we have ever known.

OK ... That’s the bad news and you can continue reading more at the link.

CONTINUE/CALAIS MIGRANTS

As said so damn often ... if the French would only shoot dead a few hundred, the rest might not follow.  Is a few hundred asking so much?
It isn’t like we’re talking about real live humans after all. They aren’t even pets for gosh sake.

So here’s some really good news for a change.

Oh, and no worry.  There isn’t any scary graphic content.
Only one photo and that one is not hard to view at all.

Two hundred feared drowned after boat packed with migrants sinks less than a mile from Libyan coast as thousands try to cross to Europe

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
Vessel went down near Qarabouli, 35 miles east of the capital Tripoli
Was believed to have been trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe
Thousands of migrants have tried to take advantage of calmer seas to flee
Breakdown of order in Libya has been heavily exploited by human traffickers
More than 100,000 Libyans are thought to have arrived in Italy since January

By Wills Robinson for MailOnline

The small vessels - which was crammed with men, women and children - sank late on Friday near Qarabouli, 35 miles east of the capital Tripoli, according to the local coast guard.

It comes as Italy’s maritime search and rescue team are being called upon to retrieve hundreds of migrants who are trying to flee North Africa via the Mediterranean Sea on a daily basis.

A Libyan coastguard spokesman Abdellatif Mohammed Ibrahim said: ‘A few miles off the coast, we found the remains of a wooden boat which had some 200 migrants on board.

‘We managed to save 16 people and recovered 15 bodies, but the search continues for some 170 people who disappeared at sea.’

He added: ‘It seems that among them are Somalis and Eritreans in addition to other nationalities. One of the fatalities was an 18-month-old child.’

Around 3,500 migrants and found 19 corpses have been discovered since Friday during a spate of attempted journeys by traffickers trying to take advantage of calmer summer seas.

The Italian ship Sirio recovered 18 corpses and 73 survivors from a raft, after a frigate picked up one corpse along with 1372 survivors on Friday night.

The Mare Nostrum search and rescue mission began after a shipwreck near Italy’s coast killed 366 people last October.

The mission costs around 9 million euros (£7.5 million) a month and has sparked fierce debate in Italy, which slipped back into recession in the second quarter after years of stagnation.

A breakdown of order in Libya since the toppling of Colonel Gaddafi has been exploited by human traffickers, pushing the number of arrivals into Italy since January past 100,000.

At the frontier between Europe and Africa, Italy has long attracted seaborne migrants, but the number of arrivals this year is already above a previous record of just over 60,000 for all of 2011, when the Arab Spring uprisings fuelled migration.

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has called on the European Union to take responsibility for rescuing migrants by investing in border control agency Frontex, and on the United Nations to intervene in Libya to manage the flows of refugees.

bugatti ,,,, a french car ….. owned by Volkswagen, birthed by italian, welcome to globo-world

I suppose purists will lament the fact that Bugatti is no longer the supreme Italian glamour car.

The papers say it’s French now, but, it’s owned by Germany’s VW.

Howz that for globalisation?

Why wouldn’t it be made in Germany I wonder. ??
Doesn’t really matter. You know the old saying.

Bugatti launches exclusive clothing line

The Bugatti Legends Capsule Collection is as exclusive as the cars on which it is based. So much so that only 36 people in the world will ever get the chance to add a piece of it to their wardrobes.

A year ago, the German-owned hypercar company set out to create six limited edition Bugatti Veyrons. Each of the six models would be inspired by a person who was crucial to shaping the car company’s history; each car would have a €2.35 million price tag and each of the special models would be strictly limited to three examples.

And, despite the astronomical fee, every single model has sold out before its official launch, including the latest and final edition, the “Ettore Bugatti” Legend, which only made its debut at Pebble Beach in California today. Sunday, August 24.

To celebrate this success and to make ownership of one of the cars even more special, Bugatti has created a line of his and hers clothing bespoke to each of the six special edition cars that will be offered exclusively to their owners.

“Authentic and with attention to detail, this Bugatti Legends capsule collection is one of the first tailor-made lifestyle projects the brand has dedicated to its customers,” explains Massimiliano Ferrari, Managing Director of Bugatti International and in charge of Brand Lifestyle.

And by authentic, that means that the jackets, t-shirts, belts, driving gloves and clutch purses that make up the collection have been made from the same buffalo, deer, calf and cordovan hide that adorn the cars’ interiors and feature the same production techniques.

For all you fashionistas out there, here’s a link.

That’s A Good Reason

Global Warming Alert CODE RED!!!

Glaciers Melting In Iceland At Alarming Rate!!

Golly, why? Could it be because

Iceland Volcano Blows It’s Top

image

Bardarbunga, a subglacial stratovolcano located under Iceland’s largest glacier

REYKJAVIK, Iceland – Iceland’s Bardarbunga volcano began erupting Saturday under the ice of Europe’s largest glacier, prompting the country to close the airspace over the volcano.

Thousands of small earthquakes have rattled the volcano, located deep beneath the Vatnajokull glacier, in the last week. Seismic data indicated that magma from the volcano was melting ice beneath the glacier’s Dyngjujokull icecap, Meteorological Office vulcanologist Melissa Pfeffer said.

The remote area, 200 miles east of the capital of Reykjavik, is uninhabited.

The Civil Protection Department said scientists flew over the ice cap Saturday afternoon but saw no visible signs of the eruption on the surface of the glacier.

Still, authorities raised the country’s aviation alert to red—the highest level on a five-point scale—indicating the threat of “significant emission of ash into the atmosphere.”

Icelandic authorities declared a no-fly zone of 100 nautical miles by 140 nautical miles around the eruption as a precaution, but did not shut down air space over most of the island nation in the North Atlantic.

“All airports are open and flights are on schedule,” said spokeswoman Olof Baldursdottir.

A 2010 eruption of Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokul volcano produced an ash cloud that caused a week of international aviation chaos, with more than 100,000 flights cancelled.

Pfeffer said it was not clear when, or if, the eruption would melt through the ice—which is between 330 to 1,300 feet thick—and fling steam and ash into the air. She said it could take up to a day for the ice to melt—or the eruption might remain contained beneath Europe’s largest glacier.

London Freezing, From a Faraway Land?
Iceland Eruption Could Freeze UK For Years

BRITAIN could freeze in YEARS of super-cold winters and miserable summers if the Bardarbunga volcano erupts, experts have warned.

Depending on the force of the explosion, minute particles thrust beyond the earth’s atmosphere can trigger DECADES of chaotic weather patterns.

Tiny pieces of debris act as billions of shields reflecting the sun’s light away from earth meaning winter temperatures could plunge LOWER THAN EVER before while summer will be devoid of sunshine.

The first effect could be a bitterly cold winter to arrive in weeks with thermometers plunging into minus figures and not rising long before next summer.

The Icelandic Met Office has this week warned of “strong indications of ongoing magma movement” around the volcano prompting them to raise the aviation warning to orange, the second highest and sparking fears the crater could blow at any moment.

The region has also this week been hit by a magnitude-four earthquake - the strongest for almost 20 years, officials said.

The British Met Office said the effects of an explosion on Britain’s weather depends on the wind direction in the upper atmosphere.

Spokeswoman Laura Young said: “If the upper winds are north-westerly it will have an effect on our weather.

“If the upper winds are westerly then it won’t.”

Experts have warned the icelandic volcano could erupt againExperts have warned the icelandic volcano could erupt again [AP]

Historic volcanic eruptions have had devastating effects on the weather in surrounding areas which have lasted for years.

In 1783 eastern regions of the United States recorded the lowest ever temperature after Iceland’s Laki volcano erupted that year.

As well as huge volumes of ash, the furious mountain also spat out large volumes of sulphur dioxide gas which added to the cooling effect.

In Indonesia, the eruption of Mount Tambora in 1815 led to an unusually cold spring and summer the following year. [referred to in history as “eighteen hundred and froze to death"]

Another article over at DailyBeast ... sure seems to be plenty of liberal leaning at this place ...

USA Today examined FBI data and found that nearly two times a week, every week for the seven years between 2005 and 2012, a white police officer killed a black person. Imagine if the opposite were true. Imagine if every single week, twice a week, white men and women all across America were being shot and killed by black police officers, it would be a national crisis.

Golly. Imagine if a different newspaper were to examine that same FBI data and found that more than 4 times an hour, once every 14 minutes, year after year on average, a black man sexually assaults a white woman. Imagine, that once every 63 minutes, every day, all year long, year after year, a black person murders a white person here in America.  Would that be a national crisis too?

Or would it be [crickets] not even worth mentioning [/crickets]?

Just trying for some perspective, to give me a firmer footing while I consider whether I can empathize with the Blacks around Ferguson, as the article above asks me to. And you know, I think I can.

Not counting any other kind of assault, robbery, or other felony, rape and murder alone account for 840 severe violent crimes committed by black people against white people every single week. And that’s just whites. So the total weekly number of crimes committed by blacks must be in the thousands. Tens of thousands. (the number of crimes committed by whites every week also numbers in the thousands, I’m sure) And one or two of those offenders manages to get shot by the police, whether they have engaged in a gun battle with the police or not (a bit of data left out of the DB article entirely, but more than likely available via the FBI).

Sure I can empathize.

Still BDS After All These Years

Yes, the Left really does think like this

image

A picture is coming into focus now, is it not? As I write the United States has launched more than 80 air strikes against the Islamic State. As the strikes have already expanded—and in my view properly so—beyond the original goals of saving the Yazidis and protecting American people and property in Erbil, there’s no clear telling of where and when they will end.

So let me run this depressing thought by you: They have every chance of ending with Barack Obama, and undoubtedly his successor as well, having to prosecute the war that George W. Bush and his geniuses made inevitable with their lies and errors and perversions of law and criminally irresponsible fantasies about this Iraq that they promised us would reveal itself before our eyes as painlessly and quickly and even beautifully as a rose coming to bloom in time-lapse photography.

and on, and on, ... and now we have ISIS, which is probably Dick Cheney’s satanic love child. Without doubt, it wouldn’t have existed ever if we’d left that murderous tyrant Saddam in power. Blame Bush!!

A jihadist organization unlike any we’ve seen before that was birthed (as al-Qaeda in Iraq) in the chaos of post-invasion Iraq around the time when the Iraqi people, we were told, were going to be tossing rose petals at our soldiers’ feet.

Yes, others deserve blame too—Obama (which I’ve written before) because of his Syria policy; the Iraqis themselves, chiefly Nouri al-Maliki, for freezing the Sunnis out of the government; and Bashar al-Assad, who’s been busy killing innocents and until recently winking at ISIS. But the group sprang to life because our invasion uncorked these sectarian forces in precisely the way Scowcroft (and others) predicted—only, in all likelihood, with more violence and vehemence than even he could have foreseen.

So this war, the one we’re starting now against the Islamic State, is the direct descendant of the Bush war. In fact, they’re not even different wars; just different chapters in the same war, precisely as if, after Hitler shot himself, an even more extreme and fanatical menagerie of Nazis arose out of Croatia or somewhere, and we needed another few years, another few trillion dollars, and another few thousand war dead to knock them down.

Finding a solution to a problem takes a lonely back seat to pointing fingers of blame at the opposition as a political weapon. Deserved or not, never let a crisis go by without blaming at least some Republicans.

I have a solution to ISIS. I have a solution to Iraq. And Iran. And Syria. And Gaza. And Sudan. Matter of fact, I could solve all of them at once, within a span of 20 seconds or so. You don’t want that one? Fine. The next bunch of solutions will take longer. But the only way to start is with an honest understanding of the enemy, and for that matter we ought to thank ISIS. They certainly are showing the world just how insane proper jihad really is, aren’t they? Just like 900 years ago. Just like 1400 years ago.  Merciless savagery, and for what? Haven’t they figured out the European Solution? (see “Swipe Yo EBT” on Youtube) Just emigrate, take the new country’s benefits, and breed like rats. In 3 generations you win, and you never have to fire a shot or chop a head.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
