O-Care Vote Becoming Political Anchor

Of course, there is some debate over the validity of her statements.

Of course, the uncertainty, the broken promise, and the fact that at least one drug she needs may no longer be covered all remain reasons members of Congress who voted for Obamacare should be scared about 2014.

Of course.

dumb and dumber but some dumb is really dangerous

The other day I wrote something about a truly wacky woman who happens to be a cousin to my wife. A liberal, no surprise, who is dumb in the extreme. The cousin, not the wife.

Well, while this doesn’t come close to Poor Brain Dead Cousin Jo, it surely is right up there in the pantheon of dumb.  Like, what ever gave this guy the delusion he seems to suffer from.

It’s not fall on the floor funny, really kind of pathetic actually.

Take a look.

Furious customer sends complaint to Trading Standards after being turned down by prostitute at brothel

Client complained he had travelled some distance only to be turned away
Harrow Council considered his written submission but could not help
‘This is a new one on us. The trading standards manual doesn’t cover it’

By Martin Robinson

A scorned customer left embarrassed after a prostitute refused to have sex with him has complained to trading standards about her brothel.

Harrow Council has admitted it was shocked when they were asked by the client to punish the sex worker and her employer because of his ‘wasted trip’.

The unnamed man told a trading standards officer that he had travelled some distance from a neighbouring London borough to pay for sex and prostitutes should not act like that.

But town hall officials left him further disappointed because current regulations did not cover his complaint.

‘The gentleman seemed very aggrieved. He told us he believed he had been refused and was angry about the fact,’ a council source said.

‘The man said he had travelled from a neighbouring borough in North London, so was obviously a bit upset by his wasted trip.

‘He filled in the form pretty seriously and gave us his contact details.’

Although the complainant was left unsatisfied by the council’s response, the brothel has since been shut down.

Harrow Council leader Susan Hall, said: ‘Prostitution may be the oldest profession in the world, but a complaint of this sort is a new one on us. The trading standards manual doesn’t really cover it.

‘I would like the gentleman involved to visit Harrow again, but perhaps this time he could enjoy some of our more wholesome pursuits - like our wonderful open parks, leisure centres and historic churches.’

The DOH gong btw isn’t owned exclusively by civilians like the fellow above, or cousin Jo.
How’s this for dumb and dumber?

Not the first time for this issue and in fact it happened a few months ago. Here’s the very same show only another new face to add to the scenery cop shows and books call, rogues gallery. Another example of ... What the hell are they thinking?  This in reference to the authorities whose duty one might think, is the protection of the public.  But no.

Another convicted killer is on the run while on a town center visit. Yeah, he had guards but, erm.  Seems he got away anyway from them.

The killer was out on day release while serving ..... A Life Sentence!  Which I guess these days doesn’t actually mean life.  Well hell you know. It all depends on what you mean by ... “LIFE”.

The murdering bastard broke into the home of an old man age 85, and battered him to death.  So then no day release or civil or human rights for an old man who was a total stranger to him.

The killer, whose name is Paul Maxwell, is still on the loose.  He’s out there somewhere, because he has “rights”.
And because the totally laughable and incredibly DUMB system in play and often referred to as a ‘justice’ system, allows day release for violent and often deadly criminals, lawful and law-abiding citizens will always be at some risk.  So it begs the question, who exactly is looking out for their rights?

I can not bring myself to believe that lunacy like the above is the result of conservative thinking.

the continuing adventure in trying to make sense where there isn’t any. the wife’s screwball cousin

Poor Brain Dead Cousin Jo. The adventure continues.
Saturday, February 22, 2014

The folks who are regular bmews readers have seen one of the things I am about to write before.  In fact … they have read it at least three times, and there’s a good reason for that.

Since there are always new folks stopping by to read this site, and newer folks who do not comment but missed the past post on the topic, it’s important to repeat it.

It isn’t enough to merely tell you how very stupid my wife’s cousin is.
I have to lead this post with an old example, although the newest which I will get to, is pretty extreme all by itself.

This is a woman so stupid and so scatterbrained, she once called us to ask how one gives oneself …. an enema.  She never, she assured us, had to do that and so had no experience, and didn’t understand the instructions.

It all started some yrs ago when I found the woman is so dumb, she was worth writing about.  Since I do not see or speak to her as often as I once did, as she used to visit the house frequently back then, over time there have been fewer stories to share about the person I have dubbed:

POOR BRAIN DEAD COUSIN JO, the continuing saga into the witless, kooky mind of our subject.

Every once in a great while she does provide reason to share some new bit of idiot’s delight.  As happened yesterday.

The wife got a call from a very happy and excited PBDCJ, ( see above) who was thrilled to discover that the new phone she bought a couple of weeks ago,
has a speaker phone.  Which means she no longer has to hold anything in one hand to her ear. Only drawback was that the base seemed a bit heavy to speak into. Say What?

Now understand I’m party to only one side of the conversation and that means all I heard was my wife telling her, no. You don’t need to hold the base up. Put it down and simply talk.
Story does no end there.

In the very late afternoon our phone rang, I picked up and guess who.
What?  Some newer disaster?  Well, in a way.
She called to ask me how to use her speaker phone as she couldn’t understand or recall how she discovered it in the first place when she called earlier.

Jo is the sort of person who will call and ask a question and then repeat it and then make a comment on it while all the time, you are trying to answer her question. But she generally isn’t listening to you because, she is still talking and saying the same things.

I tried telling her that since the phone was new she should still have the instruction book that comes with those things. She said she did have it.  I told her there would be an illustration showing her what each feature was and what they did. I also mentioned that usually there was a button right there on the front of her phone base.

She then started telling me at was a BT phone and the model number, blah, blah, blah.
She was still talking when I hung up.

Ukraine - Orange You Glad It’s Not Quite Revolution Two?

Ukraine’s opposition has asserted its authority over Kiev and parliament in a day of fast-paced events.

MPs have replaced the parliamentary speaker and attorney general, appointed a new pro-opposition interior minister and voted to free jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

Police appear to have abandoned their posts across the capital.

Protesters in Kiev have walked unchallenged into the president’s official and residential buildings.

President Viktor Yanukovych and opposition leaders signed a peace deal on Friday after several days of violence in which dozens of people died in a police crackdown on months of protest.

But the deal failed to end the protests and huge crowds remain in Independence Square, the Maidan.

The opposition have called for elections before 25 May, earlier than envisaged in Friday’s peace deal.

The president’s whereabouts are unclear
- his aides say he is in Kharkhiv, close to the border with Russia.

Presidential aide Hanna Herman said he was due to give a televised address later.

A gathering of deputies from the south-east and Crimea - traditionally Russian-leaning areas - is taking place there, but Ms Herman said the president had “no intention” of attending, nor of leaving the country.

An opposition figure has announced to the protest crowds in Independence Square that the president has resigned. This has not been confirmed, but the crowds reacted with huge cheers.

On Saturday morning as parliament met, speaker Volodymyr Rybak resigned, citing ill health. He has been replaced by Oleksandr Turchynov, an ally of Ms Tymoshenko.

Another Tymoshenko ally, Arsen Avakov, has been appointed interim interior minister. He replaces Vitaly Zakharchenko, who was sacked on Friday after being blamed for the deaths of civilians in last week’s crackdown on protests.

Vitaly Klitschko, leader of the opposition Udar party, repeated his demand for the president’s immediate resignation.

The protests first erupted in late November when Mr Yanukovych rejected a landmark association and trade deal with the European Union in favour of closer ties with Russia.

On Thursday, in the worst violence since the unrest began, police opened fire on protesters who were occupying Independence Square in central Kiev. The health ministry says 77 people - both protesters and police - have been killed since Tuesday.

Maybe this time it will last

Ukraine: Julia Is Free

Former Ukraine PM Yulia Tymoshenko Out Of Jail

image

The Ukrainian opposition leader and former Prime Minister, Yulia Tymoshenko, has been freed from jail.

It follows a vote by parliament to release her on Friday.

Speaking after her release, and after President Viktor Yanukovych had left the capital Kiev, she said a “dictatorship has fallen”.

She was sentenced to seven years in jail in 2011 after a controversial verdict on her actions as prime minister.

She left the hospital in the eastern city of Kharkiv where she had been held under prison guard and has now arrived in Kiev.

She told journalists at Kiev airport that those behind violence “must be punished”, the Interfax agency reports.

She thanked protesters in Hrushevsky Street, one of the areas which saw clashes between protesters and security forces this week.

On Thursday, the bloodiest day of recent unrest, at least 21 protesters and one policeman died.

She is now expected to address protesters in Independence Square - also called the Maidan.

MPs had voted to pave the way for her release on Friday. She was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2011 after being convicted of abuse of power over her actions during her tenure as prime minister.
Fiery orator

Her release has always been a key demand of the protest movement.

The glamorous, fiery orator who helped lead the Orange Revolution - Ukraine’s revolt against a controversial election in 2004 - was convicted of criminally exceeding her powers when she agreed a gas deal with Russia which was seen to have disadvantaged Ukraine.

She has always insisted the charges were untrue, inspired by Mr Yanukovych, the man she helped oust in 2004 who returned to defeat her in the 2010 presidential election.

The European Union had demanded her release as one of the conditions of the EU-Ukraine trade pact that President Yanukovych rejected last year - triggering the protests that led to the current crisis.

Putin under fire for …. putting russia first.  what is he thinking? bad pooty. naughty.

I must share this.  I listened to a couple of minutes of a panel news program last night. Had to shut it as all four of the panel appeared to be libs with the usual.
But what stood out was ONE remark made by one of them with regard to Putin, who he referred to as a thug because (among other things)

Putin he said,

“cared only about Russia and Russian interests”

Well damn! The very nerve of the guy who heads the govt. there. Imagine if the president of the USA had an attitude like that. Well I never.

More Blood In Ukraine

Fearing that a call for a truce was a ruse, protesters tossed firebombs and advanced upon police lines Thursday in Ukraine’s embattled capital. Government snipers shot back and the almost-medieval melee that ensued left at least 70 people dead and hundreds injured.

Video footage on Ukrainian television showed shocking scenes Thursday of protesters being cut down by gunfire, lying on the pavement as comrades rushed to their aid. Trying to protect themselves with shields, teams of protesters carried bodies away on sheets of plastic or on planks of wood.

Meanwhile, in Washington the Obama administration condemned the bloodshed as conservatives in the House and Senate mocked what they saw as more empty threats from the president. Many likened it to the “red line” President Obama threatened Syria with last year over the use of poison gas, only to retreat after several gas attacks killed hundreds of people.

Protesters Thursday were also seen leading policemen with their hands held high around the sprawling protest camp in central Kiev. Ukraine’s Interior ministry says 67 police were captured in all. It was not clear how they were taken. An opposition lawmaker said they were being held in Kiev’s occupied city hall.

President Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition protesters who demand his resignation are locked in an epic battle over the identity of Ukraine, a nation of 46 million that has divided loyalties between Russia and the West. Parts of the country — mostly in its western cities — are in open revolt against Yanukovych’s central government, while many in eastern Ukraine favor strong ties with Russia, their former Soviet ruler.

At least 99 people have died this week in the clashes in Kiev, a sharp reversal in three months of mostly peaceful protests. Now neither side appears willing to compromise, with the opposition insisting on Yanukovych’s resignation and an early election and the president apparently prepared to fight until the end.

Thursday was the deadliest day yet. An AP cameraman saw snipers shooting at protesters in Kiev and video footage showed at least one sniper wearing a Ukraine riot police uniform.

As the violence exploded and heavy smoke from burning barricades at the encampment belched into the sky, the foreign ministers of three European countries — France, Germany and Poland — met with Yanukovych for five hours after speaking with the opposition leaders. The EU ministers then returned to speak again with opposition leaders.

The 28-nation European Union began an emergency meeting on Ukraine in Brussels to consider sanctions against those behind the violence.

The latest bout of street violence began Tuesday when protesters attacked police lines and set fires outside parliament, accusing Yanukovych of ignoring their demands to enact constitutional reforms that would once again limit the president’s power.

How many have to die before it becomes a revolution? How many have to die before it becomes a civil war? Is the EU set up to handle it when one of it’s nations falls into violent internal disaster? What about with two nations, like when Germany invades Belgium again?

How brutal do the slayings and reprisals have to be before the media and the EU figure out which side to choose, and will either of them choose the side here that is for freedom? Is there a side here that is for freedom? For real, or just for media leverage?

This isn’t another “my flavor of jizzlam is better than your flavor of jizzlam, so I get to chop your family into little bits” thing, is it? Those are ever so boring, you know.

Do They Have Budget Left For Anything Else?

DHS To Purchase 704 MILLION Rounds Of Ammo Next 4 Years

70,000 officers. That’s an entire army, just for DHS alone Not TSA etc, just DHS. Don’t you think that’s a wee bit too many? Just a wee?

So it’s “merely” 176 MILLION per year then. Really? How many rounds does our entire military need per year to fight a war or two?

Will there be any left over for you??

Why haven’t you purchased shares in the companies that make the primers and the gunpowder and the cases and the bullets? It’s gravy time for them!

There. I always wanted to do a post wherein I covered the news story and nearly all of my reactions to it just in the headlines.

Now you have no need to read to thing, but here it is anyway.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is contracted to purchase 704,390,250 rounds of ammunition over the next four years, which is equal to a total of about 2,500 rounds per DHS agent per year, according to a January 2014 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report entitled Ammunition Purchases Have Declined Since 2009.

“If DHS were to purchase all 704 million rounds over the next four years, and if they were used by 70,000 DHS agents and officers, it would be roughly 2,500 rounds per agent per year,” David Maurer, author of the GAO report, told CNSNews.com.

“That would be higher than what we saw in past years at DHS and higher than the average annual number of rounds per agent or officer at the Department of Justice (DOJ),” he said.

“The 704,390,250 number of rounds is like a ceiling or credit limit which DHS wouldn’t have to fully execute,” said Maurer.  “It’s there to use over the next four years until fiscal year 2018, if DHS needed to purchase those rounds.”

Hang on, that’s only a quarter of a box of ammo per week per agent. Even if it’s all for practice, a) 12 rounds a week isn’t anywhere near enough to stay proficient, b) where are all these shooting ranges, they must be running them 24-7!!

On The Cheap

It cost me a small wad to get the exhaust welded up on the Saturn ... new flex pipe, new O2 sensor and bung, a new bracket ... but now the car is quiet again and it will be emissions legal. Matter of fact, the car is now so quiet that I can hear the wear sensors squealing on the front brakes. GRRR. Another damn expensive job, right? Well, not really so much. Went to the auto parts store; set of front pads and 2 new rotors came out to $75. Bazinga! So I did the work myself out in the driveway today while it was warm. And finished up just as it started to rain. Sweet. Saturns used sliding calipers; the whole assembly floats on a bracket that’s bolted to the base of the strut. So it’s pretty much easy on, easy off. 5 minutes if you’re a pro with a lift and air tools, about 50 minutes per wheel if you’re me doing it lying down in the parking lot. Still, it would have cost me over $300 to have the work done. Not bad.

So that should be enough to keep the old clunker going until I can find something new. I love the old 5 speed skateboard, but she’s on her last legs. It’s time. Sad but true. 229,000 miles and I still get 30mpg on the tank, and that’s with the lousy gasahol we get these days.

nothing we haven’t been aware of for a long time, but interesting reading anyway. also scary!

H/T Cherson and Molschky
May be an odd name for a blog site but it works for me.  Wasn’t looking for it, just ran across it.
Nothing here we were not aware of. But it is still an interesting if frightening read.  I guess lots of ppl are aware of the threat. Doesn’t seem like there’s anything anyone can or is willing to do.  Questions come up like; how do you deal with one of them born here in the west?  Hmmm. I suppose not letting them get born to begin with might be a good start. Mass deportation?

Just random thoughts of no importance really because .... to do anything like that, you would first have to deal with the libtard left.  That 5th column.  By deal with .... only one way and there is no sign that it can be done. Not in my lifetime anyway.

The article is a bit long but quite interesting anyway, so I’ve only posted a small part here. Link below.

Britain’s Fate Is Sealed Following Muslim Baby Boom

In January 2014, it was announced that 320,000 children (aged under five) out of a total of 3.5 million are born into Muslim families in England and Wales. This is approximately 9.2% and demonstrates a colossal demographic change in the younger population.

Leftists and liberals have always scoffed at the suggestion of higher Muslim birth rates, calling it the fiction of ‘right-wing nut-jobs’. Well I don’t want to say I told you so, but it is damning evidence of the exponential Muslim growth compared to the rest of society!

Even in politically correct Britain the newsreaders had tellingly unenthusiastic expressions as they delivered the news to the nation; however there was no elaboration on the true horror of what this trend actually means. Barely registering more than a cursory check in the mainstream media, this demographic shift has far reaching consequences for the future direction Britain will take.

In the 2001 UK census, Muslims accounted for 3% of the population. Yet a decade later, in the 2011 census, due to birth rates and uncontrolled (and unwanted) Muslim immigration, the figure ‘officially’ rose to 4.8% (not including illegal immigrants). Now with Muslims currently reproducing at double the rate of everyone else, Britain’s future looks more Islamic than ever.

Why We Should Worry

There is certainly a case that the non-Muslim population is not reproducing enough, but why is the expanding Muslim population such an issue? Pamela Geller describes in the article; ‘The Effects of Mass Muslim Immigration’ some of the many concerns we should have, but I would like to add some additional valid fears.

Firstly, it matters because if these trends continue over the next couple of generations it will destroy the UK economically. (Y.K. Cherson describes the implications of this in ‘How the West Is Committing Financial Suicide’). One example being in 2010 it was revealed that over 50% of Muslim men and over 75% of Muslim women were economically inactive in the UK. Also studies have shown that 55% of British Pakistanis are married to first cousins, and in Bradford, this rises to 75%. So whilst the ‘average Brit’ was working hard and paying taxes, those taxes were paying for the ‘average Muslim’ to not work, marry their cousin and recklessly have children (approximately half of Britain’s Muslims have Pakistani heritage). If this cycle does not stop, the nation will then go into financial meltdown, if it has not already. Interestingly, despite Muslims making up around 22% of the global population, they account for only 5% GDP.

A LOT MORE HERE OF SOME INTEREST

peaceful protestors carrying weapons and molotove cocktails burn cars and bldgs in ukraine

Ukraine riots … 27 dead, 9 of those being police.

Not my country and not any of my business. But how can I not be interested when it’s on the cover of all my papers.  Thankful I don’t have TV or else I imagine this is all we’d be seeing. Over and over. The thing of it is and what gets to me, is how the language is used and has been used since the 60s.
Rent a mobs have become “activists” and “protesters”.  Every time I see or hear those two words, I want to look for a gun.

OK … I can see where there are people who have gripes and who will protest and yell and carry signs expressing their pov.  But among the few are many who are quite simply anarchists and criminals getting their kicks and 15 minute of fame.

This article has 56 stunning photos you should see.

As I understand it, what this is all about is a demand to reduce the powers of the president but an even bigger demand is an economic break from Moscow in favor of ties to the EU.  There’s a trade and political deal with the EU, that the president of the Ukraine had turned away from.  Meanwhile …. the EU is threatening sanctions because I suppose they just don’t like being left at the alter.  They also oppose the violence and have made up their collective minds as to who is guilty of starting it all.
And as we all know already, the violence is always but always the fault of the government.  Never mind the ass wipes throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at the police.  A mob gathers and the ones who are peaceful, or would like to be, are always outnumbered by the thrill seekers who have found a convenient issue in whose name they feel free to burn cars and building and attack …..  well I guess attack anything that strikes their fancy. But all in the name of freedom of course.

Meanwhile, Moscow is blaming Western politicians, saying that the mobs are the “direct result of the connivance” by them.  I haven’t a clue if that’s right or not.  Ya know, sometimes even folks we don’t like or agree with can be right.  So who knows?  Personally, that really does appear far fetched.  Dontcha think?

As for rent a mobs … yeah. I do buy that.  Happens everywhere. Take a look at this photo.  The caption in the paper read, Young and Angry: A boy equipped for violence. Oh right.  This little piss ant is angry … at what exactly?  Are his taxes too high?  Not enough milk in his diet?  Yeah I’m sure he really is concerned and quite put out that his president wants to turn his back on the EU, and he understands all the issues being argued over and especially the economic ones.  Gimme a break.  Kids this young know from beans.
But he’s encouraged by adults and a conservative paper publishes his photo with a caption that might have us believe he has a side to fight.

Flames of hate in Kiev: 25 DEAD as Ukrainian protesters armed with rocks, Molotov cocktails and even crossbows clash with police

· 20,000 protesters on Kiev’s Independence Square responded to riot police with petrol bombs, fireworks and stones
· At least 150 demonstrators were injured and it was claimed that 13 police officers suffered gunshot wounds
· Officers used tear gas and stun grenades during the confrontation with protesters, according to reports
· Independence Square resembled a battle zone with black smoke and flames belching from a trade union building
· President Viktor Yanukovych blames opposition for increase in violence and urges its leaders to ‘stop the conflict’
· Disturbance erupted as opposition accused government of stalling reform that would decrease president’s powers
· Riot police stormed an ant-government camp in a bid to end the disturbance which has left dozens injured
By Wills Robinson and Will Stewart

Pitched battles between armed riot police and anti-government protesters hurling petrol bombs left at least 25 dead and over 240 injured in the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Tuesday night.

Nine officers and at least 14 demonstrators died amid the carnage in Independence Square after a planned parliamentary debate to curb the sweeping powers enjoyed by pro-Moscow president Viktor Yanukovych was delayed.

image
( what all law abiding protesters bring to a party )

According to the Health ministry, 241 people have been left with injuries needing hospital treatment, including 79 policemen and five journalists.
Camera footage showed appalling acts of violence – including activists throwing riot officers out of a police van and a protester fleeing the fighting engulfed in flames.

image
( injured police. what happens when you use rubber bullets. you lose. )

Around 20,000 protestors fought against police officers, armed with rocks, bats and fire bombs, and singing ‘Glory to Ukraine’. Horrifying pictures also showed several floors of a trade union building, used as an anti-government headquarters, had been set on fire.

image
( Liceman says, I never leave home without one. )

Yanukovych blamed opposition leaders for the latest increase of violence and, after failed overnight talks with the opposition, urged its leaders to ‘distance themselves from radical forces’, saying it was ‘not too late to stop the conflict’.

image
( one of the many peaceful ‘activists’ making his point known )

In a statement published online early Wednesday, Yanukovych said that he had already made several attempts to compromise, but that opposition leaders ‘crossed a line when they called people to arms’.

more to see including videos

Why authorities think that water cannon and rubber bullets and tear gas is a better response than live ammo and napalm is beyond my understanding.
Why do they worry so about causing boo-boos to the vile and violent anarchist scum?  So what if the police delete a few thousand.  It might make for a more stable society and a happier one as well.  The same ppl who would without hesitation or thought kill a cop or burn down a building, is the very same person who’d as soon burn down your house or business or do you in as well.

Nice Try

Perpetual Motion For Slow People

A somewhat new spin on an old, old idea: the machine that runs forever; aka infinite recycling; aka the defeat of entropy

This one is pretty slick ...

Rekindle Candle is a candlestick holder, which collects the melting wax to form a
new candle. As the candle burns, melting wax drips down from the candle and accumulates
inside the transparent stem where a length of wick is centrally located. Once full, the new moulded
candle can be removed from the central section to start the process again.

Pretty neat! Perpetual motion plus infinite free heat and light???

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
