And Blood Soaked Liars To Boot

Egypt: Military Opens Fire On Muslim Brotherhood

43 killed - or is it 3? 2 wounded, or 322?

Was it offense, or defense? Choose your side, choose your version. Both sides spin the story

(CNSNews.com) – A violent weekend in Cairo was capped by a deadly clash early Monday morning between security force members and supporters of the ousted president. The latest clash comes amid the ongoing debate over whether last week’s military action constituted a coup and should consequently trigger a suspension of U.S. aid.

Messages posted on Twitter by Muslim Brotherhood officials said that the “massacre” occurred when security forces stormed a sit-in while participants were holding dawn prayers, claiming that 37 of its supporters had been killed and scores more injured.

Muslim Brotherhood media spokesman Gehad El-Haddad tweeted that five children reportedly were among the dead, and that some of the protestors had sought shelter in a nearby mosque. The claims could not immediately be independently verified; the health ministry reported the number of dead at 15.

The violence happened outside the Republican Guard headquarters, where ousted President Mohammed Morsi is believed to be in custody. While the Muslim Brotherhood described the incident as a security force attack on a sit-in, state media said the army reported that a “terrorist group” had tried to storm the building.

The military offered a different version. It said it was forced to fire when an “armed terrorist group” tried to raid the headquarters. An interior ministry statement said two security force members died in the clashes.

The Monday morning violence further deepened a crisis in the country—the Arab world’s most populous—where Morsy supporters have been squaring off daily with the military.

CNN counted at least eight bullet-riddled bodies and up to 40 wounded at the chaotic emergency facility in the Egyptian capital, down the street from the site of the shooting. The upper bodies of the victims appeared to be peppered with shotgun pellets and bullet wounds.

And over the edge they go? Who can say. Looks like Obama’s Arab Spring hasn’t exactly turned out to be a Summer of Love. Actually, it looks to me like muslims killing other muslims just like they always do. Barbarians in the Barbarian Zone. Liars, murderers, rapists, thieves, sadists. Oh yeah, that’s the kind of diversity I want to invite into my country. Riiiight.

Don’t Forget They’re All Rapists Too

ROPMA. Religion of Peace, my arse.

Wonderful Egypt, protesting their tyrant in Tahrir Square a year ago ... raping television reporters and any other female they could get their hands on.

Wonderful Egypt, protesting the army replacing that tyrant’s tyrannical replacement in Tahrir Square this week ... raping any female they could get their hands on. Or were they protesting the replacement tyrant? Like it matters. The point is, the barbaric fellahin in the streets of Cairo, those wonderful, caring,. deeply religious (cut the bullshit Drew, they’re sadistic moronic fucking animals) ... are some pretty sick bastiges, and have made this bit of pavement the rape capital of the Middle East.

Oh, what, you think this is random? You think evil Achmed is just lurking in some dark alley with his fez and his knife? Think again. This is terrorism. This is the REAL War On Women. Brought to you by the religion of slavery and abuse.

Sexual Assaults Reportedly Rampant During Egypt Protests

From afar, Tahrir Square appears almost festive as protesters chant against the Islamist president who was overthrown by the Egyptian military last week. But inside the crushing crowds, the scene can be a lot more sinister.

In a video posted by the Muslim Brotherhood, an unidentified woman cries out as men attack her. The group, from which former President Mohammed Morsi hails, claims the attack occurred in Tahrir Square in late June.

Human Rights Watch reports a sharp rise in sexual assaults here since anti-Morsi protesters took to the streets in record numbers last week. Activists report more than 100 sexual assaults in or near Tahrir Square during the past week alone, many of them gang rapes.

Most of the victims are Egyptian, though some are Western journalists covering the protest.
Egyptian soldiers stand guard outside the Republican Guard building in Cairo on Friday. Egyptian troops clashed with mostly Islamist protesters demanding the restoration of the ousted president, Mohammed Morsi.

The rights group says the latest attacks follow an all too familiar pattern since mass protests began in 2011: A few men force a girl or woman away from the people she’s with; rip off her clothes and assault her. Passersby join in the attacks, which range from groping to gang rapes that can last more than an hour.

Now here’s the real kicker: these grotesque animals are acting under order. It’s almost as if they have a quota to fulfill, like your local traffic cops.

Forty-six sexual assaults are reported by Operation Anti-Sexual Harassment (OpAntiSH) during the huge protests covered by international media in Tahrir Square that intend to oust Egypt’s President Morsi.

“There [were] men with sticks at the entrance of the metro station across from KFC in Tahrir who are attacking women,” reports OpAntiSH, a volunteer group that works to combat sexual violence in protests within the square’s perimeter in downtown Cairo.

Hundreds of thousands gathered in Tahrir Square on Sunday in a mass rally against President Mohamed Morsi demanding he step down and call for early presidential elections.

Sexual harassment, mainly in the form of mob assaults, has become an issue that plagues Tahrir Square during political protests. OpAntiSH asks any volunteers to join them on Monday, since protests are expected to continue.

The group, along with Tahrir Bodyguard, another grassroots initiative fighting harassment, urged women to stay away from Tahrir Sunday night.

“The Free Egyptians Party said it has observed a campaign of ‘organized sexual harassment’ inside Tahrir Square since the outbreak of 30 June protests against President Mohamed Morsy.
Cases of sexual violence there, and in other demonstrations across Egypt, represented ‘failed attempts to keep a regime that has lost its legitimacy,’ the party said.
In a Monday statement, the party warned against attempts to ‘terrify’ females, smear the revolution and intimidate protesters.

Not that any of this is even slightly uncommon. In addition to nearly universal genital mutilation, 99.3% of Egyptian women report suffering from some level of sexual harassment.

Something to keep in mind as we go into Crazy Season ... the month long fasting ritual of Ramadan starts Tuesday.

RoPMA. Got that right. Islam, the Frustrated, Secretly Homosexual Women Haters Paedophile club. Sick bunch of monkeys. And so typical of Africa and the rest of the Barbarian Zone: South of the Med, East of the Med, West of India, South of Sebastapol. Hey, that’s nearly the entire pisslamic world! Yup. That plus feral Africa.

muslims making the news this day. remember, they belong to the rop. here’s proof.

Right. And we aren’t supposed to say nasty things about members of this very peaceful religion else we are declared racists. Or islamophobes.

Just more examples of why we need to rid our culture of these beings.  OK, there are some peaceful ones by which I mean they aren’t necessarily killers or terrorists. Maybe.  Come on.  There has to be one or two somewhere.

Meanwhile ....

Just another normal day in an islamic world.

Islamic extremists burn children alive during attack on boarding school in Nigeria which left 30 dead

At least 29 students and a teacher have been killed after Islamic extremists attacked on a boarding school in northeast Nigeria.
Survivors, who are being treated for burns and gunshots wounds, say some students were burned alive in the pre-dawn attack today on the Government Secondary School in Mamudo town in Yobe state.

Farmer Malam Abdullahi wept over the bodies of his two sons, aged ten and 12.
‘That’s it, I’m taking my other boys out of school,’ he told The Associated Press. He said he had three younger children in a nearby school.

But wait .... there’s more.  With this group, there always is.  Lock ur eye balls on this.

A teenager has been killed in Egypt after an Islamist mob threw him off a ledge on top of a roof and beat him as he lay dying, local media reports.
The young man, identified as Hamada Badr, 19, and his three friends were caught on camera hiding from a large group who had chased them onto a terrace in Alexandria.
The video, apparently filmed with a mobile phone camera from across the road, show the four teenagers escaping onto a 20ft ledge during violent protests on Friday.

the beneficiaries of treason

Someone writing in something called The Standard (which assumes they have one)
has written about the American traitor Edward Snowden and suggested the following.

Among much else he said.

This country (Britain) has a proud record of offering refuge to dissidents whose lives are in danger.  So, as country after country denies Snowden refuge, it would be a sign of how civilized Britain is to invite Snowden to claim asylum here.

Actually, it would be a sign of total stupidity as we here know. But hey bmews readers, take a look at the name of the brain dead fool who wrote that. Says it all really.

Peyvand Khorsandi

Here is what a pro American and Conservative Brit has had to say.
I think you’ll agree.

Edward Snowden is a traitor

The beneficiaries of his betrayal are not civil liberties, but those who wish to embarrass us

BY Charles Moore, Telegraph

In traditional accounts of Hell, sinners end up with punishments that fit their crimes. Rumour-mongers have their tongues cut out; usurers wear chains of burning gold. On this basis, it will be entirely fitting if Edward Snowden spends eternity in a Moscow airport lounge.

Having betrayed his own state, the man who revealed the secrets of the US National Security Agency (NSA) needs to find out what it is like to live at the mercy of other states. Acting in the name of a morality which disdains allegiance to the rule of national law, he deserves to see what life is like beyond its protection.

When he thought, last week, that Ecuador was going to give him political asylum, he wrote an oily letter to its president in which he declared that the US system of surveillance was “a grave violation of our universal human rights”. Now let him find out how hollow those rights are when not guaranteed within a democratic legal order. Let him eat the free peanuts in the transit lounge of life, and learn, too late, what is needed to defend a free people.

I gather that Wikileaks worshippers have been disappointed that the citizens of Britain and the United States have not acclaimed Snowden’s courage or been shocked by his revelations. Public opinion seems to have given a worldly shrug and said, “Obviously, our secret services spy on us in cyberspace; what’s all the fuss?”

But if that is the only public reaction, it is inadequate. In the Cold War era, when men such as George Blake or Michael Bettaney were convicted of handing secrets to the Soviet Union, they were reviled as traitors. They were assisting a hostile totalitarian power. Edward Snowden is not apparently working for such a power, and so he is not seen in this way. He is criticised as vain or silly or naive. Not enough people see the degree of his betrayal.

First, he has broken his oath. He has betrayed colleagues. From now on, all contractors like himself will be seen as suspect.

He has also betrayed individual officers and agents.

He revealed, for example, that a bug had been planted in the crypto-machine of the EU mission in Washington. So now everyone who got near that machine will be under investigation.

Worse still, Snowden betrayed methods. If it is known that, say, a particular means of getting bulk access to undersea cables is used, that means is compromised. Disclosure also betrays allies. One of the positive developments in intelligence since September 11, 2001, has been the concept of “dare to share”. Countries which previously had little contact have seen the benefits of exchanging information. Now they will see its perils.

The obvious beneficiaries of all of this are not civil liberties. They are those who wish to embarrass the West – the Chinese, who can now push back against US attempts to expose their cyberattacks on American government and industry, Vladimir Putin, German Leftists, South American populists and the sort of rent-a-mobs who are so confused that they burn the French flag in La Paz.

Whatever the precise intention, the actual effect of the Wikileakers and Snowdens is always to make life harder for the West. The web, which they love so much they make it their God, is hated and feared by countries such as China. Yet Wikileaks never furnishes us with Chinese “whistleblowers”.

There is a heresy about the web, which is that it emancipates its user from his duty to his neighbour and his country. In reality, it is the product of free countries, not a replacement for them.

Edward Snowden is a devotee of this false doctrine, not a martyr for the truth.

Fast And Furious: the “gift” that keeps on killing

h/t to Doc Jeff

Mexican Police Chief Killed With F&F gun

This happened back in January. Not sure why the story is only breaking now.

WASHINGTON—A high-powered rifle lost in the ATF’s Fast and Furious controversy was used to kill a Mexican police chief in the state of Jalisco earlier this year, according to internal Department of Justice records, suggesting that weapons from the failed gun-tracking operation have now made it into the hands of violent drug cartels deep inside Mexico.

Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, the police chief in the city of Hostotipaquillo, was shot to death Jan. 29 when gunmen intercepted his patrol car and opened fire. Also killed was one of his bodyguards. His wife and a second bodyguard were wounded.

Local authorities said eight suspects in their 20s and 30s were arrested after police seized them nearby with a cache of weapons — rifles, grenades, handguns, helmets, bulletproof vests, uniforms and special communications equipment. The area is a hot zone for rival drug gangs, with members of three cartels fighting over turf in the region.

A semi-automatic WASR rifle, the firearm that killed the chief, was traced back to the Lone Wolf Trading Company, a gun store in Glendale, Ariz. The notation on the Department of Justice trace records said the WASR was used in a “HOMICIDE – WILLFUL – KILL –PUB OFF –GUN” –ATF code for “Homicide, Willful Killing of a Public Official, Gun.”

Hundreds of firearms were lost in the Fast and Furious operation. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed illegal purchasers to buy the firearms at the Lone Wolf store in the Phoenix suburb and other gun shops in hopes of tracing them to Mexican cartel leaders.

The WASR used in Jalisco was purchased on Feb. 22, 2010, about three months into the Fast and Furious operation, by 26-year-old Jacob A. Montelongo of Phoenix. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy, making false statements and smuggling goods from the United States and was sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Court records show Montelongo personally obtained at least 109 firearms during Fast and Furious. How the WASR ended up in the state of Jalisco, which is deep in central Mexico and includes the country’s second-largest metropolis, Guadalajara, remained unclear.

What the heck is a “WASR”? It’s a Romanian version of the AK-47, built for export. It’s not very high quality, but it is inexpensive. Once the rifles are imported, the importer usually does a bit of machining and parts replacement, which allows the stock rifle to accept standard AK magazines, and puts enough “American” parts into it to qualify the things as “American made” or at least “American enough” to get around the import restrictions. A “GP WASR-10” is essentially a semi-automatic AK-47, though WASRs come in a couple of other chamberings (.22LR, 5.56 NATO, etc). There are umpteen plus 3 different manufacturers of the AK weapon; it’s been in production for something like 50 years now. AK collectors generally rate the WASR at or near the very bottom of the quality heap. Regardless, it still goes bang and is still a lethal weapon. And here’s a bit of news that shows Obama and Holder’s dumbshit idea put a whole lot of deadly in the hands of some bad bad people. And they’re still killing. But, as our former Secretary of State and next Queen By Appointment Hillary says, “At this point, what difference does it make?”

The ATF declined to discuss the matter; officials said they are still compiling an inventory of all the lost firearms for a complete account of the Fast and Furious operation.

Instead of being tracked, almost all the weapons were lost as they flooded across the border into Mexico. In all, some 211 people were killed or wounded by Fast and Furious weapons in Mexico, according to Mexican authorities. And on this side of the border, a Fast and Furious weapon was found at the Arizona scene where U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was slain in 2010.

I’m sure it made a difference to the families of those 212 people.

The state of Jalisco is in south western Mexico, west of the capital of Mexico City. It includes the city of Guadalajara. It is roughly 900 miles south of the border towns of Ciudad Juarez/El Paso Texas. That’s the point of this post: DUH, these weapons have spread all across Mexico, and probably beyond by now.

Net Jobs “Created Or Saved”: Less Than Zero

image

This graph does NOT show the massive number of former full time workers now working part time

or at much lower paying full time jobs. It only shows people with jobs relative to the whole population

Obama Sets A Record: 54 Months With Unemployment At Least 7.5%

Trillion dollar stimulus might have reduced unemployment by 0.1% - 0.4%: effectively nothing, just hundreds of millions pissed away.

Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president, the United States has seen 54 straight months with the unemployment rate at 7.5 percent or higher, which is the longest stretch of unemployment at or above that rate since 1948, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics started calculating the national unemployment rate.

Today, BLS reported that the seasonally adjusted national unemployment rate for June was 7.6 percent, the same it was in May.

In December 2008, the month after Obama was first elected and the month before he was inaugurated, unemployment was 7.3 percent. In January 2009, it climbed to 7.8 percent. In February, the month Obama signed what the Congressional Budget Office would later determine was an $830 billion economic stimulus law, the unemployment rate climbed to 8.3 percent.

In the Obama era, the unemployment rate peaked at 10.0 percent in October 2010. It did not dip below 9 percent until October 2011, when it hit 8.9 percent.  From August to September 2012, it dropped from 8.1 percent to 7.8 percent—the first time during Obama’s tenure it went under 8 percent.

Since then, the lowest it has gone has been 7.5 percent—the rate it hit in April. But after April, it ticked back up to 7.6 percent in May and stayed at 7.6 percent in June.

And all this time, the labor force has been shrinking every month. The 7.6% rate you hear is the most tweaked and bullshitted number on the planet. As the graph above shows, given the same size labor force as in 2008, real unemployment is probably at least 10%. It is probably not possible to figure out the impact of the “I used to have a good job, but ...” folks who now work for peanuts either full time or part time. Under Obama, who has spent his entire regime doing NOTHING about actually getting the economy fired up again - hell, he’s spent years doing his level best to RUIN it - middle class America has shrunk vastly. The “Net Jobs LOST or DEGRADED” rate might be somewhere around 15%. I see an awful lot of closed shops around me, and I bet you do too.

Read more at the link if you want. You already have figured out just how prescient those bumper stickers from 2007 were that read One Big Ass Mistake America. And we’ve 3 more years to go, with no real Conservative leader on the horizon.

Oh, and here’s more: only 47% of US adults have a full time job.

car care day

Bright and sunny and a bearable 90° F with the humidity down to 50%. So let’s go play with the cars. Stuff ya gotta do, right? Got another can of refrigerant for my A/C, topped that off and now it chills nicely. Put the rest of it in her car, which also needed a dose after running 10 years. Check the oil, top things off, tire pressure, blah blah.

Sweating big time out there, even in the shade. In for a drink, then maybe I’ll face dumping some junk from the back of the car. It’s getting crowded in there; I almost have to shovel out a hole for me to sit in the seat to drive. Too much mess. Have to clean this up.

As you can see, I’m feeling a lot better.

Eye Candy In Steel: Guy Friday Wallpaper

“that giddy, unchained-Satan feeling”

image

The 2014 Saleen Mustang Convertible: 700hp, $82,500. Right click, Save As.

Taking things up several notches, again

First announced at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show and then previewed in prototype form at April’s Fabulous Fords event held in Buena Park, California, the latest Saleen 351 Mustang looks to live up to the reputation of its predecessors: delivering extreme performance.

The latest 2014 Saleen 351 Mustang is Saleen’s most extreme Mustang to date, in fact. In keeping with its name, the vehicle features a 5.75-liter (351-cubic inch) V-8, which is supercharged to the tune of 700 horsepower and 655 pound-feet of torque. This is at least a 200hp increase over older versions.

An intercooler and high-flow fuel injectors make sure the engine runs fine, and a number of forged internals should mean longevity. A six-speed manual is standard and is fitted with a high-performance clutch and lightweight flywheel. The final gear ratio is 3.73:1.

To ensure the car handles well, a custom suspension setup is installed, along with 20-inch wheels, 14-inch brakes with four-piston calipers, and a downforce-generating body kit.

Right. Because, let’s face it, you need that 3.73 rear axle to get this bloated piglet to move forward. Right. Riiiight.

Ford sells a “lesser” “gentler” version of the idea. Their 2013 GT500 comes with a similar aluminum engine of about the same displacement, 5.8 liters, their own style of supercharger, a similar 6 speed shifter, but a “pathetic”, “anemic” mere 662hp. And while Ford’s street bomber costs $28,000 less, it’s built with much tamer gears in the back, so that you can actually drive the thing, and maybe even get a month out of a set of tires. Maybe. But you can tell those “dud” gears make for a rather lame driving experience ...

With a car like this, you inevitably focus on the numbers. The $54,995 GT500 coupe turns in a 0-to-60 sprint of 3.5 seconds. Ferociously tall gearing means third gear is good for 140 mph and first gear is long enough to reach highway speeds. Even so, the quarter-mile passes in 11.8 seconds. Slam a redline shift from second to third, and you’ll hear the rear tires chirp. We also saw an even 1.00 g on the skidpad.

...

[after writing about all the go-fast goodies in the Ford] All of this works well until you stand on the right pedal, at which point it works very well, and then you look down at the speedometer and realize you’re going 140 mph and have only shifted twice. Make no mistake: The GT500 is not a slow car, but it doesn’t feel as quick as it is. This is deceptive, long-haul speed, a surprising pairing of monster thrust and continent-crossing gait. After a couple of balls-out acceleration runs, you feel like Robert Crumb’s Keep on Truckin’ guy, all legs, a continent between your shins. It’s initially unimpressive, and then you glance out the window and notice you’re three states away from where you started.

Right again. Boring. So let’s amp things up half a dozen notches. While the 2013 Ford GT500 uses super tall rear axle gearing for basic drivability, those gears also give back 24mpg on the highway and a top speed way over 200mph. Don’t expect that from the Saleen. Shorter gearing will bring the top speed way down, perhaps to a “mundane” 175mph or so, but will make getting there - or even the fine art of getting out of your driveway - a rip roaring, eye popping, heart stopping experience. You know, like you’re just toodling down the highway at a mild 135mph and stamp on the gas to pass some slow poke, only to find your tires turning into smoke and the car getting sideways from the crazy amount of torque that’s always right there waiting to explode. That’s got to be worth another 30 grand or so, right?

Saleen has always taken the donkey-kick in the pants thrill ride path. Their much lower powered 1998 S351 from 15 years ago was not exactly a timid little econo-box either:

Saleen’s supercharged S351 Mustang would be inexcusable if it weren’t so fast. It’s a fiend with so much brute torque the driver feels as if he could pull both the Titanic and the ocean floor beneath it up out of the North Atlantic. Through corners, it’s as effective and subtle as a leopard clamping his jaw down on a zebra’s femur. The S351 is for fanatics

Now take this experience, and add half again as many horsies and pounds-feet. Yeah, that’s gotta be dull, right?

Now when is Saleen going to get serious, and bring out the version with a 460 under the hood and a decent 3000hp? I want to be able to do my morning commute in 18 seconds flat, no matter how far I have to drive to work.

See What Happens When I Take A Couple Days Off???

didn’t even look at the news or the internet until midnight ... looks like the camels finally saw the bricks in Egypt. Is this good or bad?

Military Junta In Egypt

Morsi Out, Muslim Brotherhood arrested

SoS John Effin’ Kerry Busy Luffing His Jib

image

J. Eff-face Kerry poorly sailing the RBS Tax Loophole while Egypt metaphorically burns

[July 3 just before midnight] CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s first democratically elected president was overthrown by the military Wednesday, ousted after just one year in office by the same kind of Arab Spring uprising that brought the Islamist leader to power.

The armed forces announced they would install a temporary civilian government to replace Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who denounced the action as a “full coup” by the generals. They also suspended the Islamist-drafted constitution and called for new elections.

Millions of anti-Morsi protesters around the country erupted in celebrations after the televised announcement by the army chief. Fireworks burst over crowds in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, where men and women danced, shouting, “God is great” and “Long live Egypt.”

Fearing a violent reaction by Morsi’s Islamist supporters, troops and armored vehicles deployed in the streets of Cairo and elsewhere, surrounding Islamist rallies. Clashes erupted in several provincial cities when Islamists opened fire on police, with at least nine people killed, security officials said.

Gehad el-Haddad, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood party, said Morsi was under house arrest at a Presidential Guard facility where he had been residing, and 12 presidential aides also were under house arrest.

The army took control of state media and blacked out TV stations operated by the Muslim Brotherhood. The head of the Brotherhood’s political wing was arrested.

The ouster of Morsi throws Egypt on an uncertain course, with a danger of further confrontation. It came after four days of mass demonstrations even larger than those of the 2011 Arab Spring that toppled longtime autocrat Hosni Mubarak.

Egyptians were angered that Morsi was giving too much power to his Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists and had failed to tackle the country’s mounting economic woes.

Egyptian military arrest top Muslim Brotherhood figures amid crackdown
An Islamist coalition led by the Muslim Brotherhood is calling on their supporters to peacefully protest the removal of former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi in a “Friday of Rejection,” after the Egyptian military arrested top Brotherhood figures as part of a major crackdown against the group.

The National Coalition in Support of Legitimacy called on the Egyptian people to “take to the streets and mobilize peacefully” after Friday prayers “to say ‘No’ to military detentions, ‘No’ to the military coup,” according to Reuters.

“We are being headhunted all over the country,” Muslim Brotherhood Spokesman Gehad el-Haddad said Thursday, according to The Guardian. “We are holding a mass rally after Friday prayers to take all peaceful steps necessary to bring down this coup.”

Um, on general principal, I’d have to say “Gee, too darn bad” that the terrorists are being rounded up in Egypt. Cry me a river. And the top two MB guys are named Baddie and the Shitter fer crying out loud. Oh, oops, Badie and el Shater. Yeah, big diff there.

Badie and el-Shater were widely believed by the opposition to be the real power in Egypt during Morsi’s tenure. As of Wednesday night, Badie was last known to be holed up at a tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast near the Libyan border, with security forces surrounding the building.
...
In addition to the two high-ranking leaders, Al-Ahram reported that arrest warrants were issued for 300 other members of the Brotherhood, Reuters reported. Some of the Brotherhood members were reportedly placed in the same prison holding Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s former president ousted in 2011.

Wow, that could add up to ... a LOT of rubber hoses and electrodes. Still, boo hoo. I think?

Authorities in Egypt reportedly rounded up or ordered the arrest of key leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday as the new military-backed president was sworn in promising early, inclusive elections.

Adli Mansour, chief justice of Egypt’s constitutional court until he was promoted to the presidency by the military on Wednesday, defended the removal of Mohamed Morsi – the country’s first elected leader – as a step needed “to correct the path of the glorious revolution” that overthrew longtime strongman Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

“This is the only safe way to a better tomorrow, to more freedom and more justice,” he said in a short televised speech.

But his swearing in coincided with a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood’s top leaders, including Mohamed Badie, the head of the once-banned group who was arrested in the northern town of Marsa Matruh according to news agency reports. However, the Brotherhood’s Twitter page – often a reliable source – claimed neither Mr Badie nor the group’s number two, Khairat al-Shater, were in detention.

Mr Morsi and at least a dozen aides were out of public view and reportedly detained on Wednesday night, shortly after the military ousted him following popular protests.

Egyptian state television said 56 people had been killed and 2,495 injured since the start of the protests on Sunday.

Mr Morsi’s supporters and their Islamist allies appeared not to know how to react to Wednesday’s overthrow of his government.

… Adli Mansour, was sworn in as interim president.  [Mansour, formerly] The chief justice of Egypt’s supreme constitutional court, took his oath of office under an army transition plan during a ceremony that was broadcast live on state television.

Shortly afterwards, officials announced they had arrested the supreme leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist group of the deposed president.

Mohammed Badie was arrested on Wednesday night in a coastal city west of Cairo and flown to the capital on a military helicopter.

As the swearing-in ceremony got underway, military jets staged a series of fly-pasts across the capital.  A view shows a fly-past over protesters against ousted Egyptian President Mursi in Tahrir Square in Cairo Another night of celebrations in Tahrir Sqaure

Above Tahrir Square, for days the centre of anti-government protests, Air force planes painted the sky in the colours of the national flag.

“I swear to preserve the system of the republic, and respect the constitution and law, and guard the people’s interests,” Mr Mansour said.

He praised the mass protests, saying they united Egyptians, but also invited the deposed president’s Muslim Brotherhood “to take part in the political life”.

“The most glorious thing about June 30 is that it brought together everyone without discrimination or division,” he continued.  “I offer my greetings to the revolutionary people of Egypt. “I look forward to parliamentary and presidential elections held with the genuine and authentic will of the people.

“The youth had the initiative and the noblest thing about this glorious event is that it was an expression of the nation’s conscience and an embodiment of its hopes and ambitions. It was never a movement seeking to realise special demands or personal interests,” he added.

The ceremony followed the dramatic removal of Mr Morsi by the military, the suspension of the Islamist-drafted constitution and a declaration of fresh presidential and parliamentary elections.

So the military pulled a takeover on the guy who got elected to be Maximum Leader after the last Maximum Leader got tossed, because the new one was handing out way too much power and favoritism to a well known terrorist group, which would effectually minimize the military’s hold on power in the country? Or are the good people in the Eqyptian Army, Western trained, Western educated, Western funded, and perhaps utterly Western politically influenced by, wise enough to see that throwing their personal empty little sandbox to the rabid dogs of jizzlam might not be such a smart idea?

Which way will be better, the military backed “democracy” or the terrorists backed “democracy”? Best for the people of Egypt (some of the poorest, least educated, most gullible fellahs on the planet) and the people of America, who give them huge amounts of free money every year.

Only time will tell.

In the mean time, the other important question is ... what will Zahi Hawass do now? He just barely got his old job and full powers back a few short weeks ago, after slipping out from under the suspicion of the Egyptian “Committee of Public Safety” by showing himself not too attached to the old Mubarak regime and tight with the new Morsi regime. Now he’s going to have to squeeze his camel through the eye of that needle all over again. But let’s face it, he’s the only known face of Egypt right now anywhere in the world that doesn’t have a gun or a protest banner associated with it.

PS - gotta love the custom made half-transparent “how many days I been in the pokey” jailbird’s blouse too. Probably cost $3500.

PPS - you know this whole outburst means there’s another mulit-mega-million dollar vacation coming up for her and the little shriekers, right? Guaranteed.

Barack Obama pledges energy cash to light up Africa’s darkness.

Barack Obama pledges energy cash to light up Africa’s darkness

US President promises funding to provide ‘the energy to lift people out of poverty’ by doubling Africans’ access to electricity
US President Barack Obama finally found a way to illuminate a so-far underwhelming tour of Africa tonight with a promise to double Africans’ access to electricity. In an emotional address to students at the University of Cape Town he promised “a light where currently there is darkness”.

Mr Obama said his government would provide $7bn (£4.6bn) in public funding, as well as $9bn from the US private sector, for the “power Africa” initiative. He also announced that the US would be inviting African heads of state to a summit in Washington next year to address continental issues: “I’m calling for America to up our game when it comes to Africa,” he said, promising to move beyond aid to a “new model of partnership”.

Fewer than a third of households in sub-Saharan Africa have electricity, according to the World Bank. In rural areas that number falls to one in 10. Africa accounts for more than a sixth of the world’s population, but generates only 4 per cent of global electricity.

Gee my heart bleeds.

Sometime last year or maybe it was early in this, I snail mailed Drew a story from a magazine with regard to aid in that part of the world.  I don’t think either of us posted the story, but it would have fit in here very well.

Part of the article dealt with the Chinese building infrastructure and bringing in supplies etc. However, unlike the soft hearted and self delusional westerners, the materials and building sites are not guarded by local villagers.  The Chinese are far smarter than that and in fact, have built gated communities for their workers. Who are ALL Chinese. Especially the guards.  That’s because they know what the westerners know, but won’t turn a blind eye to local theft.  And since many Africans have a slightly different view of the work ethic and have proved to the Chinese they are not entirely reliable, the work crews are Chinese.

The article went on to describe how one village without proper water facilities and sewerage drains, were digging up the pipes almost as soon as they were put in, and sold on the black market.  These were the pipes and other materials shipped in under aid programs for Africa.

So I read this story and wonder if perhaps there may have been the supplies to install the electric, but somehow the goods fell off the back of the truck.

Meanwhile, there are folks who just can not help but pitch in and help Africans by adopting the latest fashion accessory.  You simply must have one my dear. Why it’s the done thing and goes well with that dress.

Naturally, there aren’t any white babies available who might be in need. Heck, what’s the big deal adopting a white kid, when taking on a black one confirms your liberalism for all to see.  And adopting a white baby is soooo last year.  Nobody will notice you dear.

See next post.

Numbers Must Be Racist

Posts today at SBPDL and Rodger’s about the ongoing violent mayhem in Baltimore Maryland. There is a homicide rampage going on in that city, and it isn’t predominantly caused by blacks. No, it’s nearly EXCLUSIVELY caused by blacks.

but but but but ...

Numbers don’t lie.

28 murders in the last 30 days. 26 of them black, 1 white, 1 unknown.

118 murders so far this year. 110 of them black, 7 white, 1 unknown.

217 killings in 2012. 203 of them black, 11 white.

That’s 90% or higher, month after month and year after year. Nor is this trend just occurring in Baltimore. Pick a city, any city, especially one in decline that’s been run by Democrats since forever, and you’ll get almost the exact same results. Sometimes even worse. Right Chicago?

Go and run the database yourself.

Note that these are the victims, not the shooters.

But you can tell that the shooters were other blacks. Because if it was whites shooting blacks this much in this city, perhaps even whites shooting whites, there would be no other news. Ever. Not for a minute. Not the IRS scandal, not Benghazi, not Syria, not Obamacare. Nothing. This is all we would hear, every hour of every day. But inner city black people gunning it up? Fah, that ain’t even news. It’s olds. Gosh, was that racist of me to say that? Ooopsie! Let me make the statement that got me into blogging all those years ago: “NOT SORRY”*.

image

City clergy and members of 120 churches are rallying and praying this weekend for peace.

Even a 21-car motorcade [OF HEARSES] drives through the city showing just how deadly this violent trend is becoming.

“If you put a police officer in every block, you still could not solve the program when the problem is inside of the individual, ” said Bishop Angel L. Nunez of Bilingual Christian Church.

Somebody better send in Chicago Black Jesus to fix this situation, ASA effin’ P.

  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
