They’re All Connected

Today’s Day By Day cartoon

image

The so-called “revolving door” between government and media keeps right on spinning. This isn’t even the tip of it, just a teeny tiny piece. When you complete the triangle by adding in those who spend time as PAC consultants, the circle widens enormously.

It’s starting to remind me of one of the plots from Showtime’s The Borgias.

I recall that many years ago I read a bit of history that said New Spain was a failure because of the “Spanish Disease” of nepotism. They couldn’t accomplish anything, but they sure knew how to CYA by keeping it all in the family.

No, It Isn’t April Fool’s Day

Saudi man arrested with pressure cooker at Detroit airport

image

Of course. Of course he’s a Saudi. Of course it was Detroit. Of course his nephew is a student at one of our universities. We just refuse to learn, don’t we? And so they continue to test us. Every year, every month, every week. Every day.

A Saudi man was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after federal agents said he lied about why he was traveling with a pressure cooker, according to a court documents filed Monday.

Two pressure cookers were used in last month’s Boston Marathon bombings.

Hussain Al Kwawahir was being held Monday in Detroit on allegations of using a passport with a missing page and lying to Customs and Border Protection agents.

A criminal complaint says Al Kwawahir arrived at the airport Saturday on a flight from Saudi Arabia via Amsterdam. The complaint says Al Kwawahir told agents he was visiting his nephew, who he said is a student at the University of Toledo in Ohio.

The complaint says Al Kwawahir originally said he brought the pressure cooker with him because pressure cookers aren’t sold in America, then later said his nephew had bought one but it “was cheap” and broke after one use. [yeah, gun powder will wreck them just like that]

Agents said they also noticed a page was missing from Al Kwawahir’s passport from Saudi Arabia. He told them he didn’t how it had been removed, and said the document had been locked in a box that only he, his wife, and three children have access to in his home, according to the complaint.

Al Kwawahir was read his Miranda rights, which he said he understood, and he invoked his right to remain silent, according to the complaint.

If you have a passport, take a look at it sometimes. For a little scrap of cardboard and paper, it is a very well made little thing. Pages do not fall out. Ever. Even the paper pages are made from quite robust stock and resist tearing.

You know he’ll play the Islam Card. You know he’ll backtrack and say he was confused, and lied because he panicked because of all the islamaphobia. And they’ll just send him home.

If I were running DHS, I’d be investigating the daylights out of nephew boy and all his associates, looking for excuses to bust him. Because I CAN learn.

That IRS Scandal

Who me, a cynic? I have not yet begun to Cyn!

I haven’t written about the latest scandal to come bubbling up out of the DC cesspit. I’m not sure that I want to, because I instinctively feel it’s a set up. A sucker’s bet. Smoke and mirrors, although it doesn’t seem to be throwing the slow-to-awake hound dogs of the media off the Benghazi scent.

But I feel it’s a con. Somehow. That the whole thing will be traced to a small number of mid-level “rogue” employees, amorally doing what they “thought” would “benefit” their Big One. And that’s why the “scandal” broke in the first place. Because all the i’s were dotted and all the t’s crossed and all the records and emails cleansed before this was allowed to be news, so that the chain of evidence goes only so high and does NOT reach the top.

A half dozen or so IRS agents will take the fall. All of them will be near to retirement anyway, and they’ll just step down. Oh, there will be talk, endless talk, of criminal prosecution ... which will go nowhere. And yet somehow, behind the curtain, those agents who are dismissed will somehow be taken care of. Once out of the limelight for a month or so, they’ll get jobs in other departments. Or they’ll find themselves as consultants, earning some ultra fat salary for a year or two in some sinecure job that makes up, more than makes up, for the wages from the old job and any benefits lost. If, and it’s an unlikely if, those that get the axe are stripped of their bennies and retirement accounts. If. Don’t bet on it.

In other words, the fix is in. Before the game even begins.

And even though the running dog media is currently in high dudgeon, red hot and seething that the phone and email records of their brothers over at Associated Press were illegally seized by another branch of the dictatorship, not a single one of them will push. Not really push. Because the truth is out there, somewhere. Somehow. And you know as well as I do that this whole “scandal” was just Business As Usual to this Regime. With their full knowledge and consent. And direction. And approval. All the way to the very top. All the way up to former Secretary of the Treasury “"turbo tax” Tim Geithner, and beyond. You’ll hear “Nixon’s enemies list” half a million times (because no matter how big a Socialist Nixon was, and he advanced the Socialist Agenda at least as much as any other president, the MSM will forever have it in for him because he was the guy who put Alger Hiss away. An actual communist spy, who just happened to be the media’s and society’s darling), but you won’t hear a word about “Obama’s enemies list” even though you yourself can easily find video of him referring to his political opponents AND a vast number of Americans, as his enemies. On multiple occasions to boot. Don’t ever forget that your own government considers you a potential terrorist and a threat and has since the early days of this president’s “rule”. A word he himself used when His Arrogance began the transition from the never-before-seen-in-the-history-of-The-United-States “Office of the President Elect” to his actual inaugural empowerment.

Nor will the press ever recall that Slick Willy Clinton also sicced the IRS on people and organizations he didn’t like. Down the memory hole. Forgotten. Ignore that such a thing shows that harassment by the tax man is SOP to the Left.

The truth? If there is a truth in here somewhere, it’s that any (and every?) branch of the government can be (is?) a running dog apparatchik for the party in power. Assuming that the branch was properly “cleansed” when the party took power, which Evil Booosh never did at State. Or at EPA. Or at Energy. Or at Education. But which Clinton did, so all those branches are filled with Progressive types. And each and every one of those branches has been, and still is, used to further the agenda of the Left. The Far Left. And it never ever is news. At least not until the top players have moved on from their appointed positions and a deep impenetrable moat dug around the godkings at the top.

And some elected-for-an-entire-career DC Dimwit is yaddering away on last night on TV about how this IRS scandal destroys people’s faith and trust in government. HAH!

And now, back to your daily show. Flip on the boob tube, and watch both sides of the aisle in DC get all frumpety, and start blowing the trumpets of righteousness and resentment with every breath, because everyone hates the IRS. Because this is their perfect “me too” moment. And it will go nowhere.

So have a ton of links. It’s a terrible tale, and in an honest world it would result in firings and arrests for the larger part of the upper reaches of an entire branch of government. The same way that Benghazi should be a blood purge over at State. The same way that Fast And Furious should have been a blood purge over at Justice and at Homeland Security. Three out of many, all of which should have resulted in impeachment. And none of them will. Because the fix is in.

You Say You Want A Revolution

Well, you know ...

Missouri Legislature Nullifies All Federal Gun Control Measures by a Veto-Proof Majority

image

Jefferson City, Mo (May 8, 2013) – Tonight, the Missouri State House voted to send Governor Jay Nixon what could arguably be the strongest defense against federal gun control measures in American history. The vote was 116-38.

HB436, introduced by Representative Doug Funderburk in February, was initially passed by the House in April by a vote of 115-42.  Last week, the State Senate approved the bill with an amendment which did not change any of its nullification aspects. The vote there was 26-6.  The bill then needed one final vote in the house which happened just before 10pm local time this evening.

The votes in both the House and Senate are by a strong veto-proof majority.  Local activist Matt Radcliffe acknowledged as much when he said, “Governor Nixon can do nothing and it will automatically become law July 1st.  Or he can sign it into law. Or he can veto it then his veto will be overridden in the house and it will become law anyway!”

As law, HB436 would nullify virtually every federal gun control measure on the books – or planned for the future.

selected quotes from the bill that will brings tears to your eyes:

1.320. 1. This section shall be known and may be cited as the “Second Amendment Preservation Act”.

2. The general assembly finds and declares that:

(1) The general assembly of the state of Missouri is firmly resolved to support and defend the United States Constitution against every aggression, either foreign or domestic, and the general assembly is duty bound to watch over and oppose every infraction of those principles which constitute the basis of the Union of the States, because only a faithful observance of those principles can secure the nation’s existence and the public happiness;

(2) Acting through the United States Constitution, the people of the several states created the federal government to be their agent in the exercise of a few defined powers, while reserving to the state governments the power to legislate on matters which concern the lives, liberties, and properties of citizens in the ordinary course of affairs;

(3) The limitation of the federal government’s power is affirmed under the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which defines the total scope of federal power as being that which has been delegated by the people of the several states to the federal government, and all power not delegated to the federal government in the Constitution of the United States is reserved to the states respectively, or to the people themselves;

(4) Whenever the federal government assumes powers that the people did not grant it in the Constitution, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force;
(5) The several states of the United States of America are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their federal government.

3. (1) All federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations, whether past, present, or future, which infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and Article I, Section 23 of the Missouri Constitution shall be invalid in this state, shall not be recognized by this state, shall be specifically rejected by this state, and shall be considered null and void and of no effect in this state.

(2) Such federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations include, but are not limited to:

(a) The provisions of the federal Gun Control Act of 1934;

(b) The provisions of the federal Gun Control Act of 1968;

(c) Any tax, levy, fee, or stamp imposed on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition not common to all other goods and services which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;

(d) Any registering or tracking of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;

(e) Any registering or tracking of the owners of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;

(f) Any act forbidding the possession, ownership, or use or transfer of any type of firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition by law-abiding citizens; and

(g) Any act ordering the confiscation of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition from law-abiding citizens.

[3.2] (d) In the absence of any reasonable and articulable suspicion of criminal activity, no person carrying a concealed or unconcealed handgun shall be disarmed or physically restrained by a law enforcement officer unless under arrest; and

(e) Any person who violates this subdivision shall be subject to the penalty provided in section 571.121.

160.665. [6.] 1. Any school district within the state may designate one or more elementary or secondary school teachers or administrators as a school protection officer. The responsibilities and duties of a school protection officer are voluntary and shall be in addition to the normal responsibilities and duties of the teacher or administrator. Any compensation for additional duties relating to service as a school protection officer shall be funded by the local school district, with no state funds used for such purpose.

2. Any person designated by a school district as a school protection officer shall be authorized to carry concealed firearms in any school in the district and shall be required to keep such firearm on his or her person at all times while on school property. Any school protection officer who violates this subsection shall be removed immediately from the classroom and subject to employment termination proceedings.

3. Any person designated as a school protection officer may detain, on view, any person the officer sees violating or who such officer has reasonable grounds to believe has violated any law of this state, including a misdemeanor or infraction, or any policy of the school.

And no, it isn’t the “Wild West”. The bill sets out a fair number of use regulations, age limitations, and so forth (looks like switchblades are still illegal in MO), as is within the power of the state. But there is nothing in there that bans automatic weapons, semi-automatic weapons, firearms above a certain caliber, below a certain length (open carry is limited to firearms 16” long or shorter). No magazine capacity limits, no rules about certain types or calibers of ammunition being illegal, and so forth.

I do not know if this bill nulls out any other gun laws in that state. Mostly it reaffirms that Federal Power is limited, federal arm twisting by denying money is illegal, federal limitations on the Second Amendment are illegal, and if a town wants to have “Skool Kops” they can go right ahead and have them, on their own dime, and those people can be armed if otherwise qualified and trained. It even gives them limited powers of detention. All in all I’d say it was one fine piece of legislation.

You say you’ll just ignore the Constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s your institution
Well, you know
We’d better free our land instead

I don’t know about sleeping giants awakening, but in Missouri I think somebody large has an eye open and is looking for some coffee.

brit pm willing to go to war on a lie he keeps repeating, figuring ppl will have to believe

David Cameron warned today he may still sanction military intervention in the war-torn nation amid growing evidence that Assad is using chemical weapons against his own people.

Well David Cameron is full of it, he wants that to be true but has NO absolute proof.  But he does want Assad gone and believes he has the right to make it so.  Of course, if he keeps repeating this line he may just get other people to believe it as well.

So far, even human rights groups who as you all know I am no fan of, and who also dislike Assad, they say the rebels fighting him have gotten their hands on chemical weapons AND HAVE USED THEM.
Even that loud mouth Carla Del Ponte, a former Chief Prosecutor of two United Nations international criminal law tribunals, has said there is proof now that it was NOT Assad’s people but the rebels themselves who have used chemical weapons.
If you read the papers here, and I do, on one page you can read Del Ponte being quoted that way, and on another page you will read a quote of Cameron’s saying otherwise with NEVER a reference to what she has said.

I don’t believe Assad is that dumb.  If he is, he deserves to be out of office if for no other reason, than being stupid.  And I really doubt he is.  This is a civil war, it’s religious and it’s tribal and it’s a mess.  And Cameron wants to dive right into the middle of this thing. Which you can understand because the UK has NO urgent problems to be solved at home.  And besides, there’s spare cash in the treasury needs spending before the taxpayers, who’ve been told to tighten their belts, find all that hidden money. Which from now on we can simply refer to as Moron’s secret cash war fund.
Oh ... and do not count out Obama folks.  He’s being a bit more cautious at the moment but every so often I hear a sabre rattling.

Obama wants to help the rebels with non lethal aid.  Moron wants war. Action. Boom-boom. No more empire and no Germans to fight and the French aren’t inclined to battle the Brits so what to do.

COME TO THE IMMEDIATE AID MILITARILY IF NEED BE, OF THESE HARD FIGHTING FREEDOM FIGHTERS OPPOSED TO ASSAD.

Right on Dave.  We’re with ya.

Lets take a look at some of the hard fighting freedom loving rebels who yearn to be free.

Syrian rebel ‘cuts out soldier’s heart and EATS it’ in horrific propaganda video

· Rebel is believed to be Abu Sakkar, a founder of the rebel Farouq Brigade
· Sakkar rants: ‘I swear we’ll eat from your hearts and livers, you dogs’
· He then raises one of the organs to his mouth and takes a bite
· Cameron warns he may send troops as evidence of chemical weapons grows

By Matt Blake

A video that appears to show a Syrian rebel cutting out and eating the heart of a dead government soldier has been posted online in a horrific new propaganda stunt.

The unverified clip, posted by a pro-government campaign group, claims to show a man - believed to be Abu Sakkar, the well-known founder of Homs’ Farouq Brigade - standing over the uniformed corpse in a ditch while ranting against President Bashar al Assad.

Using a knife, the man hacks open the torso and removes two organs before holding them up to the camera and declaring: ‘I swear to God we will eat your hearts and your livers, you soldiers of Bashar the dog.’ He then raises one to his mouth and takes a bite.

It comes as David Cameron warned today he may still sanction military intervention in the war-torn nation amid growing evidence that Assad is using chemical weapons against his own people.

The video, posted on YouTube by and billed as proof of a war crime, is the latest installment of a propaganda war that is growing fast behind the scenes of this bloody conflict.

Last month, a photograph was released by a pro-Assad group based in Lebanon that appeared to show a young rebel fighter barbecuing the severed head of a government soldier.

Experts say such images demonstrate that the battlefield has spread from rubble-strewn streets and war-churned fields to the internet as both sides vie to control their public image and discredit that of their opposition.

Meanwhile, human rights groups say it is emblematic of a civil war that has rapidly descended into sectarian hatred and revenge killings.

In the most recent video, Sakkar tells the camera: ‘I swear to God we will eat your hearts and your livers, you soldiers of Bashar the dog,’
His rant is greeted by offscreen cheers of his comrades shouting ‘Allahu akbar (God is great)’.

“ David Cameron warned today he may still sanction military intervention”

And he probably will.  After all, his kids are still too young to wear a uniform and be put in harms way.

obama advises the brit pm. again.

I really do wish Obama would keep his thoughts on what he thinks the Brit Prime jerk Minister should do re. the EU, to himself and private.

This has made the news here, and not a lot of Brits are happy. Can’t say as I blame them.  Obama doesn’t have to live here and live with the problems and fears.

This is just a little snippet, but it gives you some idea of what folks here contend with. And now the president of the USA just has to put in his 2 pence worth.
Who here voted for him?

Barack Obama today rode to the rescue of David Cameron, backing his plan to seek a new deal for Britain with the European Union instead of quitting altogether.

The US President dismissed Tory Eurosceptics in the UK putting pressure on Mr Cameron for immediate withdrawal from Brussels, insisting: ‘You probably wanna see if you can fix what is broken in a very important relationship before you break it off.’

Mr Cameron’s high profile visit to Washington has risked being overshadowed by Tory turmoil over Europe back home.

This is akin to say, the Brit PM going to America and advising the USA to have even closer ties to the UN.  Throw in the aclu also. Gives you an idea.

I’m not a political pundit. I don’t have any inside track but, Mr Cameron might end up toast in the next election.  Which translates as well for the conservatives who support him.  There’s a real problem here.  Not many want Labour back in power tho lord knows there are an awful lot of socialists and lefties who do.
The Lib/Dems (Liberal Democrats) also very left, are pretty much discredited but if there’s a hung Parliament again, heaven know what can happen.  Maybe a coalition of Lib/Dems and Labour?  Heaven help this country cos nobody else will.  Or, maybe a deal between UKIP and Tories?  Which will not happen as long as Cameron is head of the conservative (lite) party.  I think there’s kind of backlash among cons against him.  Honest folks, not trying to be funny here but it scares us.  I mean the very thought that somehow the liberal left might regain #10.

Today’s talks at the White House were supposed to be focused on ending the conflict in Syria and looking ahead to next months G8 summit, which Mr Cameron is hosting in Norther Ireland.

But the press conference was dominated by exchanges on Europe, with Mr Obama appearing to back Mr Cameron’s plan to stay in the EU under new terms.

Mr Obama told reporters at the White House that Mr Cameron’s approach ‘makes sense to me’.

He suggested the US-UK special relationship depends in part on Britain’s role as an ‘active, robust, outward looking and engaged’ nation and member of the EU.

‘I think the UK’s participation in the EU is an expression of its influence and its role in the world as well as obviously a very important economic partnership,’ Mr Obama said.

Mr Cameron also appeared to slap down Education Secretary Michael Gove and Defence Secretary Philip Hammond who said they would vote to leave the EU today.

Ppl inside the govt itself at these levels are saying what so many average Brits have been begging for, for years.  Sure, not everyone.  But I’d bet a majority would love to get out.  They hate the idea of laws and rules being made by unelected foreigners sitting in some court made up in many cases of those with little or no legal or judicial experience. And even if they had it, Brits don’t want them making their decisions for them.  The left of course does not mind at all.

And Cameron?  He had this to say.

It would be a false choice between the status quo and leaving and I don’t think that’s the choice that the British public want or deserve.

No. They don’t. They do want OUT however.  They want their country back and frankly I see little chance of it happening.

Mr Cameron refused to say how he would vote if a an in/out referendum were held now.

He’ll vote as he’s always wanted to, and also as Obama advises him to.

B-B-But It’s M-m-M-May

What the bleepity bleep? I got up at 5am to use the bathroom and it’s freezing in here. Holey horse blankets Batman. It’s 35 degrees. Yesterday afternoon it was sunny and glorious and dry, temps in the very low 80s. I had to turn the heat on.

Flip on the Weather Channel, and yup, some shift in the jet stream has caused a temperature invers ... blah blah blah. Prediction is for a couple days of cold, 50s in the day and nearly freezing each night, and then back to only a tad cooler than normal. I think this is the chilliest Spring in a long time around here.

On the other hand, today’s forecast for Billings Montana is 91.

I’m having a hot cuppa and getting back under the covers. No fair. Frost in the middle of May. Brr. Where’s that damn Global Warming when you need it?

a bridge fable for our times

The Mayor of the Greek town visited the Spanish town. When he saw the palatial

mansion belonging to the Spanish Mayor, he wondered how he could afford such a

house. The Spaniard said: “You see that bridge over there?

image

The EU gave us a grant to build a two-lane bridge,

but, by building a single-lane bridge with traffic lights at

either end, I could afford this house.”

image

The next year, the Spaniard visited the Greek town. He was simply amazed at the

Greek Mayor’s house, gold taps, marble floors; it was marvellous. When he asked

how this could be afforded, the Greek said: “You see that bridge over there?”

The Spaniard replied: “No?”

more laughable law and disorder or …. what? me worry?

Crivens!
This case goes back to ‘09?  First we’ve seen of it.

So typical of law and order and the laughable justice system they have here.
I make note of it and pay a lot of attention to these things because I so often read how bad our system is in the states.  Mostly though I hear it on the radio on panel shows.  There is almost always someone using the US system as an example of what you do not want.  Of course, it’s kinda close to the truth in the sense that in many cases we don’t want it either.  But hell, who consults “the people” anymore?

Then there’s folks who use our system of govt. ( which is prefect right guys?) as an example of the form of govt. that doesn’t work well and they use the senate deadlocks they hear about as an example of bad govt.
HOWEVER ....  the system here is not working all that hot these days. They have a coalition govt. in place at the moment because no party at the last natl. election could get a majority. From what I’ve seen so far, I am not alone in thinking it is NOT working out well at all. AND ... I am left wondering what the basic difference is between us since the Rep. and the Dems. in the US are at war on all fronts also.  However, many of our critics do not seem to be aware that in many cases we do get an opportunity to “throw da bums out” between major elections and we do hold referendums in our states without having to jump thru some of the hoops they do here.

Oh, speaking of referendums.  The old EU thing is in the air again and has been for a month or more.
The Brit PM said back in 2010 they could have one but it must have slipped his mind AFTER the election was over.  So now, nobody is surprised and nobody believes much of what he says. And that’s his own party.

The word now is there will be a vote on in or out of the EU BUT ...  AFTER the next election! In 2015.  BUT ... now get this.  Originally he said (before the recent local elections where UKIP, the UK Independence Party, made some very strong gains and won a number of seats AND ... did way better than the other party in the coalition at the present time.  He originally set the date for a vote on the EU for 2017! Soooooo he’s moved it forward and making some slightly more conservative noises. Not too much of course. But a slight sum.  And the party that calls itself conservative here is running scared. Or at least that’s the impression I get and it could a wrong one interpreted by a foreigner.

So now on to the topic I wanted to share that has to do with, (pauses for laffing fit) law and order.

‘Cash-for-crash’ gang swagger free from court after staging fake stag-do pile-up that was set to earn them £134,000 ( 205,810.60 USD )

Gang of 13 intentionally damaged minibus before taking it to crash scene
Six ambulances went to scene in Tyneside and the group faked injuries
But smug Richard Oliver and others avoid jail at Newcastle Crown Court

By Mark Duell

image

Flashing £20 notes after walking free from court with the rest of his criminal team, this is the smug smile of a ‘cash for crash’ gang member who helped staged an accident in a spoof stag do.

The scam involved the gang of 13 intentionally damaging their minibus near the Tyne Tunnel in North Tyneside, before driving it to the scene of the ‘crash’ - then claiming for whiplash injuries.

A second Peugeot vehicle was also purposely damaged and the defendants had claimed it was involved in the ‘smash’ - but the court heard it had never been anywhere near the minibus.

Smiling Richard Oliver, 25, of Jarrow, South Tyneside, was part of the gang, who would have taken £134,000 between them from insurance firm Aviva if they had pulled off the scheme.

A fleet of six ambulances raced to the scene of the faked accident on the north bend slip road of the A193 near the Tyne Tunnel, after one of the men dialled 999 at 7.45pm on August 19 2009.

The men were taken to North Tyneside Hospital, some in neck braces, where members of the group were given ‘unnecessary’ neck and spine x-rays, Newcastle Crown Court was told.

The driver Robert Paul, 45, the ‘groom’ Stephen Paul, 28, and the other ‘stag do revellers’ in the vehicle seemed to be ‘quite well’ when ambulance staff approached the minibus.

‘The defendants were laughing, smoking and chatting,’ James Adkin, prosecuting, said. ‘What followed was a domino effect as they began to hold their necks and say they had suffered injury.’

A few hours later they seemed to have made a ‘dramatic recovery’ and were ‘walking around’ at the hospital, Mr Adkin said. When police arrived, Robert Paul claimed he had not seen the other vehicle.

But an investigation by Northumbria Police discovered that the passengers of the mini-bus were in cahoots with the owner of the Peugeot, Ben LeBlond, and his ‘ghost passenger’ Marnie Simpson, 21.

Officers were immediately suspicious, as the men were two and a half hours away from Edinburgh, the supposed stag-weekend destination. The group then lied to paramedics, doctors and insurers.

Mr Adkin continued: ‘Robert Paul immediately started telling lies to the police. They were two and a half hours away from Edinburgh when it crashed so it would have been a limited affair.

‘Steven Paul immediately complained to the police he had neck pains. He said he was the groom.’

Officers also found no overnight bags or clothes for the ‘weekend away’. Aviva launched a probe and discovered through Facebook that many of the minibus passengers were friends with LeBlond.

‘Most crooks don’t have licences but still keep guns

He’s in the news again and his name is Tony Martin.  He is the farmer who some years ago, went to jail after shooting and deleting a young burglar.  That was a good deed.  Except of course back then, Mr. Martin went to jail and also lost his permit to own a shotgun.  People here were outraged that the law would come down so heavily on Martin, who was protecting his property.  Impossible for us Americans to understand the mindset that appear so heavily in favor of the bad guys.

Well, Mr. Martin chased off another bad guy and this time no shooting. But he says it isn’t the first time there have been intruders on the property.  The story reads like he does have a weapon handy, but he is now afraid of using such due to what happened to him before.  He might become a victim 2wice.  Once at the hands of a thief and again at the hand of asinine laws that bleed tears for the bad guys.

A week or two ago, a judge decided that 17 year olds MUST be treated as children under the law if arrested.

Meanwhile ….  this week two teens, age 15, were sent to jail for 6 years for the mugging and killing of an 85 year old woman.  They were totally unconcerned about her death. The black bastards will be out just in time to enjoy the rest of their undeserved youth.  The rest of us can only hope we won’t be one of their future victims.  And lets be clear about this.  It won’t be their fault vermin tho they are. That’s what they do. Innit? I mean to say, scum are only doing their job.  It’s the system that isn’t doing its job.

‘I wished I’d fought him off’: Farmer Tony Martin who was jailed for shooting a teenage burglar confronts thieves for the second time

· Claims he chased thief yelling: ‘Come back again and I’ll sort you my way’

· 67-year-old shot dead Fred Barras and injured Brendan Fearon in 1999
· Given a life sentence before crime was reduced to manslaughter
· After stress of yesterday’s incident he’s been taken to hospital for treatment
· ’I don’t understand myself or recognise myself. I don’t feel safe,’ he said

‘Most crooks don’t have licences but still keep guns so the law’s hugely unbalanced in their favour.

The farmer was checking out houses and barns when he confronted the intruder.
He said, ‘He ran away but I’m convinced he’ll be back in my barn and then he’ll wish he wasn’t,’ admitted Mr Martin, who does not hold a shotgun licence any more.
‘But you know what,’ he said. ‘Most crooks don’t have licences but still keep guns so the law’s hugely unbalanced in their favour.
‘While it’s 13 years since the last incident happened, I don’t think we’re any safer than we were then. I still feel vulnerable and am unable to properly protect myself.
‘It’s not the value of the goods that upsets me; its just that people seem to be able to come and take from others as they please and the police and politicians never seem to do anything about it.
‘Who’ll pay for the smashed battery? It’s irrelevant to the thief and I don’t expect the police to find him through checking the fingerprints.’

A 3D PLASTIC GUN … AND IT WORKS. firing pin is a common nail we are told.

This appeared in yesterday’s Daily Mail, which we get delivered 7 days a week. I must have been asleep to not have acted and posted but then again, I figured all of you had already seen it multiple times back home. Although the article mentions Shummer, another paper today also adds Cong. Steve Israel to the list of opponents.  I’m sure there will be lots more.

I must give credit where due and H/T Doc Jeff cos he reminded me of this ignored or forgotten or slept thru article.

Blueprints for 3D-plastic gun downloaded 100,000 times in 2 days before the State Department orders the site to take down the weapon designs

Defense Distributed posted video on Sunday of founder shooting all-plastic gun made on an $8,000 3-D printer
Pistol uses only one metal piece - a small nail for the firing pin
Blueprints for the weapons were downloaded 100,000 times in two days
Most downloaded in Spain, then the U.S., Brazil, Germany, and the U.K.
The State Department has demanded the site take down the blueprints

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
