One Round, One State, One Lunatic

Connecticut Plays “Can You Top This” With Gun Control

Introduced in the Connecticut state legislature by Senator Ed Meyer, proposed Bill No. 122:

AN ACT CONCERNING RESTRICTIONS ON GUN USE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a class C felony offense, except for certain military and law enforcement personnel and certain gun clubs, for (1) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate, transport, possess or use any gun except one made to fire a single round, (2) any person to fire a gun containing more than a single round, (3) any person or organization to receive from another state, territory or country a gun made to fire multiple rounds, or (4) any person or organization to purchase, sell, donate or possess a magazine or clip capable of holding more than one round.

Forget “assault weapons”. Forget “semi-automatics”. Forget “high capacity”. CT State Senator wants to turn the clock back to 1685 and limit you to only single shot weapons. And I can guarantee you he’ll be blatting that “that’s what guns were when the Second Amendment was written, so that’s the kind of guns the Founding Fathers had in mind, so that’s the ONLY kind that should be legal’ leftist line of bullshit. Which is a total lie, as multiple barrel weapons were around even then, along with a couple of halfway-reliable recharging systems (ie a way to reload a gun quickly, built into the gun itself).

This bill would make the overwhelming majority of EVERY repeating firearm built since 1867 illegal. Every double barreled shotgun or rifle. Every lever action. Every revolver. Every pump action. Ever semi-automatic. Every everything. Period. The man is batshit insane.

Legislation; registration; limitization; criminalization and then confiscation.

Will such a bill even get out of committee? In any sort of normal bizzaro world, no. But we are no longer living in a normal bizzaro world. Today we live in inside-out, upside-down, mentally unhinged, off the left hand cliffs of insanity, totalitarian bizzaro world. So I would put this bills chances at 50:50. AT WORST.

I can’t write any more. My hands are shaking. I need to go lie down in the dark, and find my happy place. God damned shame that my happy place only exists in my dreams. Once it was my entire country.

Behave today comrades. For the government is watching, and tomorrow you will be a felon.

The Constitution isn’t just being shredded. It’s being burned into ash and swept under the rug.

New York Has Lost Its Mind

“Politics At Its Worst”

“We are now turning those law-abiding citizens into criminals”

Welcome to the leftist-run polic state comrades. And it’s only going to get worse. I’d say this is one of the worst RCOB moments ever, but what’s the point? Nobody is listening; your rights are being nibbled to death by squirrels, but the only important thing is who is winning on American Idol.

Bill called ‘toughest gun control package in the nation’ passed by New York Senate

Days after calling for an overhaul of gun control in New York following the Connecticut school shooting, Gov. Andrew Cuomo worked out a tough proposal on gun control with legislative leaders who promised to pass the most restrictive gun law in the nation.

The measure passed the Senate 43-18 on the strength of support from Democrats, many of whom previously sponsored the bills that were once blocked by Republicans.

The Democrat-led Assembly gaveled out before midnight and planned to take the issue up at 10 a.m. Tuesday. It is expected to pass easily.

“This is a scourge on society,” Cuomo said Monday night, one month after the Newtown, Conn., shooting that took the lives of 20 first graders and six educators. “At what point do you say, `No more innocent loss of life.“‘

“It is well-balanced, it protects the Second Amendment,” said Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos of Long Island. “And there is no confiscation of weapons, which was at one time being considered.

Bull. Shit. This is totalitarianism at its almost worst. Legislation; registration; criminalization and then confiscation. Three out of four steps are now complete.

“This will be the toughest gun control package in the nation,” said Sen. Jeffrey Klein, leader of the Independent Democrat Conference that shares majority control with Republican senators. “All in all, it is a comprehensive, balanced approach that will save lives,” Klein said in an interview.

It won’t save a single one. All it will do is make life more onerous for the law-abiding, and limit the freedom of those same law-abiding, and place their lives in greater peril.

“We haven’t saved any lives tonight, except one: the political life of a governor who wants to be president,” said Ball who represents part of the Hudson Valley. “We have taken an entire category of firearms that are currently legal that are in the homes of law-abiding, tax paying citizens. ... We are now turning those law-abiding citizens into criminals.”

The governor confirmed the proposal, previously worked out in closed session, called for a tougher assault weapons ban and restrictions on ammunition and the sale of guns, as well as a mandatory police registry of assault weapons, grandfathering in assault weapons already in private hands.

Some of the bill’s crap ... lifted straight out of Feinstein’s insane federal proposal ...

From the text of the bill:

The “two-feature” test bans any gun that is semi-automatic, has a detachable magazine (in the case of pistols and rifles), and possesses two features that are commonly associated with military weapons. The “one-feature” test would ban semi-automatic guns with
detachable magazines that possess one feature commonly associated with military weapons. This section also adds to the list of “features” that characterize a banned weapon.

Within one year of the effective date, all weapons defined as assault weapons under the new “one-feature” test, as well as weapons grandfathered in under the original assault weapons ban, must be registered. Current owners of these banned weapons may transfer the weapons only to a firearms dealer or transfer to an out of state buyer. All registered owners will be subject to a review of disqualifiers by the State Police.

New York has already defined an “assault weapon” as a semi-automatic firearm, so let’s not waste a breath pointing out that their definition is moronic in comparison to the actual (select fire, mid-powered cartridge) definition of one.
Now the state is going to extend the definition to semi-automatic pistols that are built with magazines that hold more than 7 rounds. In other words, the Browning Hi Power, a 9mm pistol that came on the market in 1935 with a 13 round magazine, will now be an assault weapon in NY.

Section 50 of the bill enhances control over sales of ammunition by
adding a new Penal Law 400.03 requiring (1) that sellers of ammunition register with the superintendent of the State police (2) that prior to a sale of ammunition, a seller must run the buyer through a State-created review of disqualifiers to ensure that the buyer is not prohibited by law from possessing ammunition, and (3) that ammunition sales are electronically accessible to the State. In addition, to prevent from purchasing ammunition, the bill requires that any ammunition sold commercially must be conducted by a seller that can perform a background check.

So not only will you have to submit (and pay for) a NICS check when you buy ammo, another state-owned background check will be installed, and they will have complete and constant access to that data.

Section 49 creates a new Penal Law 400.02 establishing a statewide gun license and record database. Section 18 amends Section 212 of the Judiciary Law to require that records submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding individuals for whom a guardian has been appointed be transmitted to the State and checked against the statewide gun license and record database.

Well, there goes the lifelong pistol permit. Tax revenue generator, I’m sure:
Section 48 of the bill amends the Penal Law to require that every county recertify a gun license holder’s license every five years. Failure to recertify during this five year period equates to revocation of the license.

And of course they up the penalties for all the existing gun laws, and create several new ones
Section 45 creates the crime of aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony, which is committed when one possesses a loaded firearm under 255.03 of the Penal Law and also commits any violent felony offense or a drug trafficking felony. The minimum mandatory sentence is 5 years.

And here they trot out their reasoning, or what passes for it ...

In the wrong hands, guns are weapons of untold destruction and heartbreak: family and community members are taken from us in an instant; mass shootings shatter our sense of safety in public spaces; street crimes plague our neighborhoods. Nationwide, gun violence claims over 30,000 lives annually.

While the Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms, the Supreme Court has said that that right is “not unlimited.” ...

Some weapons are so dangerous and some ammunition devices so lethal that we simply cannot afford to continue selling them in our state. Assault weapons that have military-style features unnecessary for hunting and sporting purposes are this kind of weapon. The test adopted in this legislation is intended to bring a simplicity of definition focusing on the lethality of the weapon, amplified by the particular features.

What a total crock.  And that list of features, only one of which will now make you a criminal:
(A) A SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE THAT HAS AN ABILITY TO ACCEPT A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE AND HAS AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

(I) A FOLDING OR TELESCOPING STOCK;
(II) A PISTOL GRIP THAT PROTRUDES CONSPICUOUSLY BENEATH THE ACTION OF THE WEAPON;
(III) A THUMBHOLE STOCK;
(IV) A SECOND HANDGRIP OR A PROTRUDING GRIP THAT CAN BE HELD BY THE NON-TRIGGER HAND;
(V) A BAYONET MOUNT;
(VI) A FLASH SUPPRESSOR, MUZZLE BREAK, MUZZLE COMPENSATOR, OR THREADED BARREL DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE A FLASH SUPPRESSOR, MUZZLE BREAK, OR MUZZLE COMPENSATOR;
(VII) A GRENADE LAUNCHER;

OR

(B) A SEMIAUTOMATIC SHOTGUN THAT HAS AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

(I) A FOLDING OR TELESCOPING STOCK;
(II) A THUMBHOLE STOCK;
(III) A SECOND HANDGRIP OR A PROTRUDING GRIP THAT CAN BE HELD BY THE NON-TRIGGER HAND;
(IV) A FIXED MAGAZINE CAPACITY IN EXCESS OF SEVEN ROUNDS;
(V) AN ABILITY TO ACCEPT A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE;

OR

(C) A SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL THAT HAS AN ABILITY TO ACCEPT A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE AND HAS AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

(I) A FOLDING OR TELESCOPING STOCK;
(II) A THUMBHOLE STOCK;
(III) A SECOND HANDGRIP OR A PROTRUDING GRIP THAT CAN BE HELD BY THE NON-TRIGGER HAND;
(IV) CAPACITY TO ACCEPT AN AMMUNITION MAGAZINE THAT ATTACHES TO THE PISTOL OUTSIDE OF THE PISTOL GRIP;
(V) A THREADED BARREL CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING A BARREL EXTENDER, FLASH SUPPRESSOR, FORWARD HANDGRIP, OR SILENCER;
(VI) A SHROUD THAT IS ATTACHED TO, OR PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY ENCIRCLES, THE BARREL AND THAT PERMITS THE SHOOTER TO HOLD THE FIREARM WITH THE NON-TRIGGER HAND WITHOUT BEING BURNED;
(VII) A MANUFACTURED WEIGHT OF FIFTY OUNCES OR MORE WHEN THE PISTOL IS UNLOADED;

etc etc. Not that ANY pistol in the entire United States was not already classified as illegal if it had a shoulder stock of any kind on it already; this is what the BATF calls an SBR, a Short Barreled Weapon. You need a Class III (machine gun) permit to own one of those.

So your good old Remington 742 that you inherited from grandpa, on which you installed a muzzle break to tame the recoil, and your cherished brand new Browning BAR with it’s BOSS barrel vent, and are now illegal assault weapons. In New York. When the bill passes. And with this bill as precedent, do you really think Diane Nutcase Feinstein’s bill is going to fail in DC?

Obviously your Auto-Ordnance Thompson rifle - styled after the original 1927 Thompson submachine gun but built as a semi-automatic rifle, with it’s finned barrel, forward hand grip, and classic Cutt’s Compensator - is now an assault weapon as well. Wait, that one probably already was. Because all criminals lug around a 14 pound tommy gun looking rifle to rob liquor stores.

And every single time you buy a box of bullets, you have to be cleared by the government, and they keep a record. And they’ll soon set a limit on that, if they haven’t already; people who own “excessive” quantities of ammunition will come under intense government scrutiny. And who defines “excessive”? Why the government of course! Want to bet that number will be 20 rounds? 50 rounds? 10? Whatever the police state figures will keep you from ever being able to resist them. And they call this “protecting the Second Ammendment”. Nazis.

The end isn’t nigh. The end is here. The Communists are in charge and you can’t do jack shit about it.

How do you strip a dead knight of the honor? Award another 1 and take that 1 away. say what?

Once upon a time, there was this really weird looking guy named Jimmy Savile.  He was a major act here in the UK once upon a time. Very major.
He died last year an old man and almost immediately, stories began to surface about his abuse of and sexual attacks upon youngsters of both sexes, as well as teens and a few women too.  There have been people now coming forward from 30 and 40 years ago who claim to have been abused by him. The numbers grow day by day.

It has been written that his influence was such, that even though there were some who were aware, they said nothing.  Police have been accused of not listening to the few who did tell stories of abuse, but either were not believed, or were told to “belt up” as nobody would believe your story.

Savile apparently was a law unto himself, or so the story now being told goes.

As more and more people come forward to claim victimhood, the police have shifted into high gear and have been arresting all sorts of former big name entertainers who are “suspected” of sexual harassment.  That could be nothing more than a grope or pat on the bottom, unwelcome as that may be.  Almost anyone who may have worked with Savile or might have been a friend or a friend of an acquaintance 100 times removed, is under suspicion and arrest and bailed.
Please note dear reader, NONE of those pulled in so far have actually been found to be guilty of anything as yet.  In other words, the continuing investigation of Jimmy Savile has spread the net wide and is snaring all sorts of everyman.

One poor fellow, a weatherman, was off on holiday with family.  Somehow his name came up and the kops in several cars like something out of Hollywood, went to his house at 6:30 one fine morning, and battered down the front door.  Ooops. Nobody home.

Savile had done a lot of charitable work and raised millions for various causes.  No doubt he had his own agenda, if even half of what’s being published is true.
He had very popular TV shows back in his heyday, and so naturally youngsters were attracted to him and his fame.  One of his shows was aimed at the young in fact, and the format called for some lucky kid to appear with him to have a problem fixed. That show was called, “Jim’ll Fix It” and ran on the BBC from 1975 to 94. And here’s where things really get interesting.  You see ….

Some of the abuse is supposed to have taken place on BBC premises.  Did any of the management know what he was doing?  Did anyone suspect and keep quiet?

Do any of you hear the footfall of the gathering lawyers?  I thought you might.

A year ago when he died the nation was almost in a state of national mourning, with tributes and remembrances.  But then, then some voices were heard.  Faint at first. Only the odd one or two and then three.  Soon the number grew and there were a dozen as the storm gathered strength. And then more and then more yet until, the numbers grew to a hundred – two hundred – and before we knew it there were 450 reported cases of sex abuse carried out by the fallen hero who it is now claimed, used his work as a volunteer celeb in a children’s hospital to have access to the vulnerable. And this went on for 50 years, many claim. Ah yes. the claims.

His estate is valued at something like 4 plus million pounds.  In American dollars that’d be about $6,435,657.  You will not be surprised to learn that the estate funds have been frozen pending possible payouts for lawsuits.  You also will not be surprised to know that the numbers of accusers continues to grow.

Once upon a time, Jimmy Savile was knighted. Oh yes. A very big man indeed. SIR, Jimmy Savile.
And now things get totally bizarre and totally stupid but then I must remember where I am these days.

The powers that be want him stripped of his knighthood. Should be easy enough. Ya think?

Here’s the headline from today’s paper. And the story.

Revealed: Bizarre plan to give Jimmy Savile a second knighthood so he can be stripped of it publicly

· An OBE or knighthood expires when a person dies but title ‘Sir’ is still used

· Honours Forfeiture Committee may award Savile another knighthood so he can be stripped of it publicly

By Tara Brady

Sir Jimmy Savile could be awarded a posthumous knighthood – so he can then be stripped of it.
The bizarre plan is being considered by the Honours Forfeiture Committee because knighthoods cannot be removed from people who have died.
Those given a knighthood are awarded lifetime membership to a ‘living order’ and the title no longer exists when the holder dies.

A Whitehall source told The Sunday Times: ‘The forfeiture committee is certainly looking at the issue.’
The TV host, who died last year aged 84, was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 1990 - an award which followed the OBE he was given for services to charity and broadcasting in 1971.

The Queen has the power to remove honours after they have been recommended by the forfeiture committee.

A report published this week by Scotland Yard and NSPCC said he DJ spent ‘every waking minute’ thinking about abusing children and used his celebrity status to that end. Eighteen girls and ten boys aged under ten were abused – the youngest being a boy of eight targeted at his school.
Allegations of sexual assault have been made by 450 individuals, aged up to 47, and some have yet to be interviewed.
The 214 confirmed offences included 34 rapes and stretch across 28 police force areas. The most recent was in 2009 but they date back as far as 1955.
Lawyers for the victims have already instigated compensation claims against the BBC, NHS and education authorities for failing to stop the serial predator. The payouts could run into millions of pounds.
Victims said it was shocking it had taken so long to expose the DJ’s predatory behaviour.
They said senior managers who missed opportunities to stop him should be named and shamed.

SOURCE

-30-

Hang on there. If they give him another one and take it away, would that not still leave the original? So his dead body would still be?
A dead knight?

OK, by this time you might think that’s all there is. And probably so, for now.
But read this take.  And Mr. Glover is I think, quite right. With all that’s come out, guilt isn’t in question but … here.

Forgive me asking, but how do the police know Savile spent ‘every waking minute’ planning abuse?

dicks in a dress get some knickers in a twist

See how it works is, press freedom as approved by the scummy, ugly idiots of the left, like Lynne Featherstone. But hey wait, this all started just because Suzanne Moore quite rightly voiced an opinion, not in the press but in her Twitter page.  Moore is a well known journalist here, and the papers all have Twitter pages so perhaps her Twitter account is tied to her paper. Whatever, this truly ugly beast, speaking of Featherstone, seems to believe that folks who have the temerity to voice an opinion not shared by her, are all fascists of the first order and should all go to the wall.

I’m posting this cos apparently a new phobia has been discovered and introduced.
Yeah really.  How’s this grab ya.

Transphobic!  Iz that a werd er what? Write it down and paste it to your fridge or beer cooler.  The word today is,

TRANSPHOBIC

Leave it to the left to come up with terms for non pc crimes that they can attach ‘phobic’ to.

Oh yeah, take a good look at that ugly face on Featherstone and tell me; can you imagine her as an “Equality Minister”? She is a former minister of equality.  Yuk. Nothing that owns a face that ugly should be seen in public unless wearing a burka or a paper bag over her face. Plastic would work very well too.

Two top female writers, an insult about Brazilian transsexuals and a firestorm on Twitter. Do natural-born women have the right to say what they like about men who change sex?

· Julie Burchill has come under fire for a column in yesterday’s Observer
· The columnist described transsexuals as ‘dicks’ in chicks’ clothing’
· She was writing in defence of fellow columnist Suzanne Moore
· Miss Moore had been forced off Twitter after criticism of another article
· She said women were pressured to have bodies like ‘Brazilian transsexuals’
· Lib Dem minister Lynne Featherstone has called for Ms Burchill to be sacked
· Miss Featherstone also wants Observer editor John Mulholland sacked

By Ben Spencer

A controversial newspaper columnist has been accused of being transphobic after she wrote an article attacking transsexuals as ‘bed-wetters in bad wigs’ and ‘dicks’ in chicks’ clothing’.

image

Julie Burchill wrote a column in the Observer yesterday defending her friend and fellow columnist Suzanne Moore who came under fire on Twitter for an article that said women were under pressure to have bodies like ‘Brazilian transsexuals’.
The Observer website was swamped with comments in response to Miss Burchill’s column, many describing it as ‘vile’ and ‘horrible’.
Comments have since been suspended on the story and a message posted on the website says that it is now subject to an ‘inquiry’ to be carried out by the paper’s Readers’ Editor.
The comment also provoked fury on Twitter.
Liberal Democrat minister Lynne Featherstone called for Miss Burchill to be sacked for attacking transsexuals as ‘bed-wetters in bad wigs’.
The former Equalities Minister, a staunch supporter of transsexual rights, said she should be fired and her newspaper’s editor John Mulholland should also go.
Miss Burchill wrote the article in defence of fellow columnist Suzanne Moore, who became the target of transsexuals’ fury over what seemed to be a throw-away comment in a previous article.
Miss Moore, describing the challenges faced by modern women in an article for the New Statesman, had written that modern women were expected to look like ‘Brazilian transsexuals’.
She had said: ‘(Women]) are angry with ourselves for not being happier, not being loved properly and not having the ideal body shape – that of a Brazilian transsexual.’
The comment provoked fury on Twitter and Miss Moore subsequently said she had been forced to stop using the website because of the abuse she had received.
She added that the reaction of ‘the very vociferous transsexual lobby and their grim groupies’ reminded her ‘of those wretched inner-city kids who shoot another inner-city kid dead in a fast-food shop for not showing them enough “respect”.’

Some comments on the subject.

I happen to agree with them and find Ms Featherstone a repulsive moaning Minnie who should be getting on with the job she is overpaid to do, not criticise someone else’s opinion to the extent that she demands that they are sacked. So if you get them sacked, it is not going to change their opinion one iota. You can pass all the PC laws you like, but I for one will promptly ignore them!
- exUKresident ,

The world is completely insane, you cant say anything without hurting peoples delicate feelings or someone else championing them and attacking you in the name of political correctness, all this madness has to come to a head sooner or later, the majority of us are sick of the loud crass minority who will jump on any band wagon they can just to make themselves feel worthy
- frankbull, horley, United Kingdom

Lynne Featherbrain is the one who should be sacked! The day the fabulous Julie Burchill is banned from speaking her mind is the day I emigrate to Syria in search of democracy and free speech!
- Dolly Diamond, Brighton,

Now here’s an opinion from the left that won’t surprise anyone.
This is how they think.
THEY will tell you exactly what free speech is and what it is to be used for. Here, read this.

I love how most people commenting here seem to have mistaken ‘free speech’ with ‘vocal & literal bigotry’. Free speech is for anti-war movements, open debate and parity; not for some jumped-up woman to spew hate and insults which are suited to only one agenda: her own.

That Didn’t Take Long

Burglars Hit Home of Gun Owner ID’d by Newspaper

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.

At least two burglars broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons, according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into custody, the source said.

The gun owner was not home when the burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police investigation continues.

...

The homeowner’s name and address were included recently on the controversial interactive map of gun permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties published on The Journal News’ website.

Neighbor John Mascia said he thought the gun permit database should not have been published.

“I could [not] care less what they have in their home,” Mascia said.

Police are investigating what role, if any, the database played in the burglars’ decision to target the home, the law enforcement source said.

The newspaper has come under intense national exposure after they published a list of residents who have gun permits.

Among the most vocal local opponents is Sen. Ball — who said the newspaper had put law-abiding citizens in danger.

The Journal News has placed the lives of these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut jobs,” said Ball. “If the connection is proven, this is further proof that these maps are not only an invasion of privacy but that they present a clear and present danger to law-abiding, private citizens.”

...

Ball said the newspaper, whose parent company owns USA Today, is coddling terrorists.

“The same elitist eggheads who use their editorial page to coddle terrorists and criminals are now treating law abiding citizens like level three sexual predators,” he said. “This is not about the Second Amendment; these bills are simply about commonsense and personal privacy. Publishing this information on a website, as we have evidently just witnessed in the recent attempted gun burglary, provides criminals with a map of where they can steal firearms from lawful owners for later use in the commission of crimes.”

So the cops caught one of the perps. And if he testifies that he and his buddy hit that house because of the newspaper’s map, then it’s time for the biggest damned lawsuit you can imagine.

smallish update: the papers don’t publish the guy’s name or address, but they did send a camera crew around to his house. Since the Journal-News still has their map up online, it’s the work of only a couple minutes using Bing Maps to match the house from the list at the J-N and find his name and address.

global warming fraud. warming stopped 16 years ago says another report

The folks here, the ones who influence and make decisions anyway, are convinced and have convinced many, that by taking extreme measures this island might save the planet from from warming and all sorts of other bad stuff.  All they have to do is cram it all down the throats of everyone and hey. Presto, one large step advanced in the fight to save the planet.  Never dawns on these ppl that their puny input is meaningless and does nothing.  Whatever, they keep on with plan after plan and all in the face of other evidence which says something else.

For instance.

Solar swindle: Cost of green subsidies will add £1 billion to family household bills

By Jason Groves

Ed Miliband’s controversial scheme to encourage homeowners to install solar panels and wind turbines is set to cost families an extra £1billion in higher bills, figures reveal.

Subsidies for solar panels rose 14-fold last year as individuals and businesses piled into the scheme, criticised as being a licence to print money.

The payments, funded by a levy on electricity bills, jumped from £9.2million in 2010/11 to £128.3million in 2011/12, according to figures compiled by energy regulator Ofgem.

Not much of a story here for Americans passing through here.  Things is, I thought it interesting how far these eco-hand wringers will go even in the face of
this.

But over the same time the average efficiency of schemes fell by more than 40 per cent – because of a lack of sunshine.

Subsidies for domestic wind turbines trebled over the same period, rising from £2.3million to almost £7million.

Households are paid for the electricity they return to the National Grid but the payments are far above market rates, requiring heavy subsidies.

Oh dear.  What, What?  No sunshine here in the gween gweat bwitain?

Ah .... scuse me but I believe all that rain is what make the place so GWEEN?  Ya think there’s a connection?

Now then all that stuff aside, there is an agency here, The Met Office, which deals with the weather and change in and forecasting etc.
So very quietly, it was put out that oops, perhaps a mistake has been made in all this gorebal warming stuff. You betcha. Because ... another new headline reads;

GLOBAL WARMING STOPPED 16 YEARS AGO, A MET OFFICE REPORT REVEALS

A column by a fellow named David Rose has written an analysis on the subject, which really is interesting. At first I thought it might be dull and dry and of not much interest. Boy was I wrong.  For those interested in the the global fraud, please read this link.

so now there’s a dept of characteristic protection?

This made all the headlines in the past week.

Good Grief.

The way folks act on the subject, you’d think it was a one off thing instead of just another run of the mill story. Yawn.

So far, there have been no urgent calls for the registration of, or the confiscation of, knives.

Two knifed to death in front of shoppers

British police are investigating the stabbing deaths of two men who may have been homeless.

The killings occurred at rush hour on Friday evening in front of hundreds of people in a busy shopping district in the central English city of Birmingham. Attempts to revive the two men, who were in their 30s, failed and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Big Issue, which helps homeless people earn income by employing them to sell its magazines on the street, said Saturday that both victims were vendors of the publication. Editor John Bird said he was “struggling to make any sense” of the attack.

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for questioning.

Well that was a non starter.  Anyone still awake?

OK, perhaps this story will wake you up.  There’s even a hint of ‘sex’ here.  Woo-Hoo.
Lets all peek at this one.

Library poll asks children as young as SIX if they have had a sex change

By Gerri Peev

Children as young as six have been asked about their sexuality and whether they have had a sex change in a survey about their local library.

Youngsters in Portsmouth were among those canvassed on the future of Cosham Library.

But as part of the survey, the children were asked to identify their sexuality and say whether they were still the same gender they had been ‘assigned’ at birth.

Questions about where residents would prefer the library to be located took up just half a page of the two-page survey. Three-quarters of the questions were about whether library users had a disability, their religion and what ethnic group they belonged to.

The poll, carried out by Portsmouth City Council, also quizzed library users on their sexuality and asked respondents: ‘Is your gender the same as the gender you were assigned at birth?’

he library survey was put through residents’ doors, posted on the council’s website and circulated to officials.

Tory councillor Alistair Thompson said: ‘This is political correctness gone mad. It’s completely bonkers and a waste of taxpayers’ money.’

Council leader Gerald Vernon-Jackson, a Lib Dem, insisted the survey was a legal requirement.

He said: ‘If we do not ask questions about who is responding then we could be taken to court for not having done something to find out who has responded, which could be costly for the taxpayer and a waste of public money.’

But he went on: ‘I don’t think that questions about sexuality are appropriate or relevant for youngsters.’

The Equality and Human Rights Commission’s guidance to the public sector says there is ‘no explicit legal requirement to collect and use equality information’.

It simply advises public authorities to ‘understand the impact of their policies’ on ‘protected characteristics’.

Crivens!  Portsmouth?  That’s down the road a few miles.

Interesting. We all know about all the various protected minorities and protected lifestyle advocates but, I had not realized they also have a dept of characteristic protection agency.

in praise of guns

I guess I can be fairly certain that many of our regulars if not all, have seen this.  Interesting.

Wonder what the legal penalty might be for someone who doesn’t have one cos they don’t want one.

Nah. I can’t see any libtards living in this place. Can you?

Oohh, wait a minute. Another thought.

A lib free environment?

Ah huh.  Maybe if we ever get released from this place we can move there instead of back to Calif.
Not an altogether bad thought.

Utah Town Considers Making Gun Ownership Mandatory

by Yo’Adrienne.

A Utah town is swimming radically against the political current.

The Spring City City Council will consider an ordinance to make it mandatory that every household has a firearm in it:

Spring City Councilman Neil Sorensen first proposed an ordinance requiring a gun in every household in the town of 1,000. The rest of the council scoffed at making it a requirement, but they unanimously agreed to move forward with an ordinance “recommending” the idea.

The council also approved funding to offer concealed firearms training Friday to the 20 teachers and administrators at the localelementary school.

“It sends a statement that criminals better think twice,” Sorensen told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “If a teacher would have had a concealed weapon in Sandy Hook, I think the death loss would have been fewer. If sane, trained people had guns, they could have shot back.”

The measure, which will go before the full council in February for further review, seems to have the support of the council’s five members and many residents in the farming community about 90 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Before you say anything, know this: it’s been done before, but in Georgia:

The town north of Atlanta had little prominence until it passed a gun ordinance in 1982 that required all heads of a household to own a firearm and ammunition.

Kennesaw’s law was a response to Morton Grove, Illinois, which had passed a gun ban earlier that year as a step to reduce crime.

But it also was an affirmation of what gun advocates say is a blanket U.S. constitutional right, under the Second Amendment, for citizens to keep and bear arms. Gun opponents challenge that right and say the language in the Constitution is open to interpretation.

The Kennesaw law has endured as the town’s population has swelled to about 30,000 from 5,000 in 1982.

“When the law was passed in 1982 there was a substantial drop in crime … and we have maintained a really low crime rate since then,” said police Lt. Craig Graydon. “We are sure it is one of the lowest (crime) towns in the metro area.

What does that mean, exactly?

This:

The city violent crime rate for Kennesaw in 2010 was lower than the national violent crime rate average by 85.16% and the city property crime rate in Kennesaw was lower than the national property crime rate average by 46.46%.

In 2010 the city violent crime rate in Kennesaw was lower than theviolent crime rate in Georgia by 85.15% and the city property crime rate in Kennesaw was lower than the property crime rate in Georgia by 56.74%.

While I’m not a fan of the ordinance because I’m not a fan of unnecessary use of force by the government, I don’t think this will cause any harm. If anything, Spring City will be a SAFER PLACE TO LIVE.
After all, despite all the guns, Kennesaw hasn’t had a murder in years.safer place to live.

Paying It Off

Greece Raises Middle Class Tax Bracket To 40%,

Top Tier Grows To 42%

In other words, anybody with a halfway decent job is paying at, or near, the maximum tax rate. Guess the party’s over in Greece.

Athens passed new tax increases to boost revenue by US$3 billion to keep in line with previous commitments to creditors. The new measures limit family benefits and force the middle class to pay over 40 per cent of their annual salary in taxes.

Greek’s Conservative-led coalition has passed the new tax increases to middle and high-income earners, self-employed and businesses.

The new law increases the amount of income tax paid by those earning more than US$26,000 a year, limits tax benefits for having children, revokes tax breaks for farmers and increases corporate tax to 26 per cent from 20 per cent.

It also increased top income tax rate to 42 per cent from 40 per cent for Greeks earning more than US$56,000 a year, which is the higher-end of middle class average in Greece.

The new law was part of an overall package approved past November in order to qualify Greece for more bailouts in the future. It aims to save Greece up to US$3 billion in 2013.

If the new tax changes would not have been passed, then Greece would not qualify for more bailout money to be transferred and the nation would have fallen short of paying its own bills.

That’s the way Greece ... Tax The Rich™ - anyone earning more than $56K per year.

Coming soon to a neo-Turd World dictatorship near you!

So now that they’re going to tax their people naked to pay their way out of debt, that step towards austerity lets them get even more money lent to them, so that they get deeper in debt. Yeah, that makes sense. Uh huh.

Just last month Greece has received another US$45.5 billion in frozen loans and now with the passage of the new tax bill it is on track to get another US$19.9 billion in the next few months.

But it’s been a free ride over there for ages, and it’s time somebody has to pay the piper

Trying to hold control of the economy at the end of 2012 Greece adopted a 2013 budget that involves 9.4 billion euro of spending cuts, mainly in state wages, pensions and benefits, all of which have already been significantly reduced over the past two years.

Tough austerity measures have also led to a drastic surge of unemployment – in September 2012 it reached a record 26 per cent, which is one of the lowest levels amongst the EU nations.

Oops. Yup, the party’s over.  But I think they meant to write “highest” instead - the EU27 is at 10.7.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. 3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
