AN OVERCROWDED ISLAND GETTING MORE SO

Brits who complain and often loudly, about unchecked immigration and immigration in general, are often shouted down by the left who gave birth to this problem with cries of race and anti immigrant bigotry. But these days, there have been a few (not a lot ) but a few who have said they might have got it wrong.
But on a popular news panel show, a lefty historian named Mary Beard opined that immigration was good and it wasn’t as severe as the critics made it out to be.
There speaks a woman who does not have to contend with the problem, and worse yet does not even recognize that there is one.  A member of the audience spoke out and said she didn’t recognize her own town (Boston. Yes, there’s one here too) and that the problem is acute.  Here’s a very short clip from that show.
The old looking woman is Professor Mary Beard who dismissed stories about the number of migrant workers overwhelming Boston as ‘myths’ and said ‘public services can cope’. The prof. like many of her kind, live in lala land.

The lady who spoke out in answer to the lefty prof said the following which is not on the video clip.

She told the panel, which was sitting in Lincoln: ‘I have a business in Boston, I have family that live in Boston and we’ve got land at Boston and we’ve had major issues with workers who’ve got nowhere to go, camping on our land and we can’t move them off because the police aren’t interested.

She added: ‘The problem is we’re not like these politicians or other people on television, we’re on the frontline. I’ve not been to university, I’m just a 35-year-old who spoke from the heart.’

Mrs Bull, whose family has a retirement home business, said she is worried that more migrants from Romania and Bulgaria will make the problems worse.

She said many workers head to the area on the promise of work, but end up without employment or money.

Mrs Bull, who has a 10-year-old son, said: ‘They are going to come to Boston because of the landworkers, the farms and agriculture, that’s where they would get work.

‘But we’ve got so many homeless on the streets, this town has so many problems that are just being swept under the carpet and the locals are crying out. Someone needs to help us.

‘I don’t want it to be about them and us. We all want to work together as one, but when resources are stretched that’s when the animosity starts, and we don’t want that.’ Mrs Bull, who now lives elsewhere in Lincolnshire, said her family has had repeated problems with migrants camping on their land and that it has been impossible to get help from the authorities and police to move them.

She said: ‘My dad and brother used to go there every day as my dad speaks Polish, to explain to them that they have to move on because we were getting complaints from environmental health, and local residents were complaining about the mess they were leaving. There were empty bottles, human faeces, needles.

‘We felt sorry for them as there was a young couple who had been promised work, they’d been dropped off in Boston, had their passports taken off them, they had no money, and they were just left stranded.

‘We gave them a bit of money for them to get some food and drink to help them out, but the numbers just grew.’

SOURCE

The issue under discussion being the date when in 2014, restriction will be banned by the EU and Brits will have to accept hundreds of thousands from eastern Europe.  Oh boy.  What a mess on the near horizon. BUT .... the powers that be should have known and started the drive to limit immigration and benefits long ago. Someone was asleep at the wheel.

Imagine the USA having to enforce an immigration ruling like that. A ruling that originates from a foreign source.

Oh wait.  In a manner of speaking, it already does.

Meanwhile, Brits have a serious problem to confront, and the next year, or years, could be interesting. If predictions hold, and with the numbers being spoken about they well could, services will for sure be stretched beyond the breaking point.

Britain really needs to tell the EU to back off on that policy. Finding the politician with the guts for that will be something else. Only guy I am aware of who would, is the leader of UKIP, the UK Independence Party. There are it is reported, a number of conservatives who are switching over because of this issue and the issue generally of the supposed power of the European courts.  However, it is also said that while it’s very unlikely for UKIP to win election to the top post, they can split the votes so that we could see a return to a Labour govt.  And that would be a DISASTER!

a nice calm read for a sunday morning

Well here we go again with another episode of .....

Things Just Can Not Get Much Dumber

First of all the important news and then I’ll get to the post.

It’s snowing again, weather guy thinks we are in for four more days.

CRIVENS!

OK.  So how does this strike you readers?  Public branding in support of a cause.

Now to be clear about things.  I am dead against mistreating babies and animals. Or wives and other women.
And there are a number of very cruel bastards running around poisoning cats and dogs for fun. Nobody caught yet but it doesn’t matter cos they wouldn’t pay any heavy price anyway.  But this is something else, and I really don’t see how this will cause anything to change except for more public revulsion.
Or maybe not seeing what’s become of public standards over the years.

I find this most bizarre.  How about you? Or am I missing something important here?

The woman bringing horror of ‘human branding’ to Britain: Vegan to mark volunteer with hot iron in protest against animal cruelty

By Jo Macfarlane

image

Becky Folkard is a successful senior manager at a wealth management company. She dresses smartly and attends high-level business meetings in central London.

But on March 21, in broad daylight on a London street, grammar school-educated Becky will take hold of a specially-designed branding iron, measuring four inches across and two inches wide, and made scalding hot by a blowtorch.

Wearing a mask over her face and the over-sized apron of a slaughterhouse worker, she will then press the brand for several seconds into the bare chest of a man she met only recently over the internet, while he is restrained on the ground.

The iron will smoke as it sears his skin. His skin will blister and weep almost immediately and the brand will leave a wound so severe he will be permanently scarred with the numbers on the iron – 269.

The act of almost unthinkable violence in a public place will no doubt cause horror and revulsion among passers-by and curious onlookers unlucky enough to witness the event.

The demonstration will last just ten minutes but Becky, 34, hopes it will have resonance for far longer. She is a vegan – and one of a growing number of animal rights activists who are resorting to extreme tactics to make their views known.

The public branding will be a protest against animal cruelty in the dairy industry, and those volunteering to be marked with the number 269 are acting in solidarity with the first such demonstration that took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, in October.

The number refers to the ear tag on a male calf filmed on a dairy farm being readied to be sold for veal or leather.

The scene in London will be replayed in cities around the world with similar demonstrations planned in Leeds, Washington DC, Hamburg, Buenos Aires, Melbourne and Prague.

The protest is not illegal because the adults are consenting and the London group is liaising closely with police to make sure no public order offences are committed.

Becky says she would never want to be associated with any group involved in illegal activities but explained that she had to make a stand. She said: ‘If one person goes away and researches a vegan lifestyle because of this it will have been worth it.

She discovered the 269 protest via the internet. One of the first to be branded in Israel was Sacha Boojor, and his protest went viral.

Filmed in gory detail, he and several men – some in chains – are seen writhing in agony after their skin is seared.

Becky said: ‘My initial reaction to seeing the Israeli film was admiration. I don’t see it as a particularly shocking, although of course I accept that others will. But I’ve been desensitised because of research I’ve done on the dairy industry.

‘I immediately wanted to be involved and thought, “God, I couldn’t do the branding – that sounds terrifying.” But then I thought about it more and realised why not – I’ve never felt so passionately about anything.’

The Least Terroristic Person In Pennsylvania

Time For Another Major Lawsuit

PA School Suspends 5 Year Old Little Girl For Terrorism

Folks, this kind of mindless garbage goes on every day. It’s high time somebody put a serious beat down on the lunatics running the education system. Sue them broke, then press criminal charges.

A 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl who told another girl she was going to shoot her with a pink Hello Kitty toy gun that blows soapy bubbles has been suspended from kindergarten.

Her family has hired an attorney to fight the punishment, which initially was 10 days for issuing a ‘terroristic threat.’ But her punishment was reduced to two days after her mother met with school officials and had the incident dropped to ‘threatening to harm another student,’ which apparently carries a lesser punishment.

“It’s laughable,” Robin Ficker, the girl’s attorney told FoxNews.com.

Ficker says Mount Carmel Area School District officials said the girl made the threat on Jan. 10 as she waited for a school bus with friends. A school official overheard the remark and searched the girl’s backpack and did not find the Hello Kitty gun, he said.

The next day, the girls involved were ‘interrogated’ by school officials, Ficker said. By the time the girl was done speaking to administrators about the incident, she was crying, he said. A teacher called out the girl in front of her class and told her police may get involved, he said.

Ficker called the girl “the least terroristic person in Pennsylvania.”

“What parent that you know would want their 5-year-old questioned about making terroristic threats without them in the room?” Ficker asked.

Last week the kindergartner was chatting in line while she was waiting for the bus. No one’s sure exactly what she said, but according to the family’s attorney, she told classmates something like, “I’m going to shoot you and I will shoot myself. She didn’t have the Hello Kitty Bubble Gun with her at the time, but when school officials got wind of the conversation, they questioned the little girl, suspended her for her making a “terroristic threat,” according to The Daily Item newspaper, and told her parents she needed to be evaluated by a psychiatrist.

“All I know,” the mother told the paper, “is what my daughter has told me and she said she was told she could go to jail, which is a very traumatic thing for a five-year-old to live with.”

The attorney says the little girl was questioned for about three hours, without her parents.

“This is a good-natured little girl,” Robin Ficker said. “And this shows how hysterical people who work at schools have become since Sandy Hook.”

No, this is how hysterical, and how button-pushing-mindless Zero Tolerance school officials have been for years. Shitcan the lot of them, and hire real men and women who can actually think for a nanosecond or two.

Before being allowed to return to school, Ficker said, the girl had to undergo psychological testing from an independent practitioner.

“The psychologist said that she posed no danger to others,” Ficker said. “I think it’s pathetic when little kids can’t play… or get in this kind of trouble for using the wrong words. This little girl is one of the least threatening people in the state of Pennsylvania.”

Ficker is fighting to expunge the incident from the girl’s records.

“I’m going to call the superintendent about this,” he said Thursday. “We need to expunge the record right away.

Real nuts and terrorists are winning when innocent kids are put through the ringer. Kids this age, they have fragile minds.”

That the kindergartner landed in trouble over such an incident might seem ludicrous to most, but Ficker said, “It’s not funny when a child is branded, when a child is suspended for playing with a bubble gun.”

The girl’s mother said she is also upset that she was not contacted when, for three hours, her daughter was questioned.

Ficker did not rule out suing the school district.

Hell yes, sue them. I’d say about $250 million would be the right amount to start, plus the jobs of every school employee involved, right up to the superintendent of the school district. If they are that stupid, that unthinking, then they are not even marginally qualified to be involved in the education system.

There’s a picture of a HK (Hello Kitty!) bubble gun machine at the second link. Aside from being bright pink, it doesn’t even look like a gun.

I think the parents in the whole town should outfit every kid with a Kalishnakitty T-shirt to wear to school in support. Every day until the pink slips are issued. These jack-booted imbeciles just don’t get it: you do NOT trample our children with your garbage beliefs, policies, and Gestapo tactics.

gun misfires see story and video

Proof that a hand gun is also an assault weapon.  Ban the gun. No wait. Just the bullets. You can be assaulted by bullets you know. OK, ban both of them.

You probably don’t know this but you can be assaulted by a common butter knife in the hands of a bad guy.

Not at all funny for the guy who was facing what he had to believe was certain death. But the gun misfired.

I like the idea that some guys were able to beat the hell out of the would be killer. Now why can’t our people in the west do good deeds like that?
See the link for the still photos which are good and have detail.  Very in interesting stuff.

oh btw… just to be sure ya know.  I was only kidding about banning the assault hand gun. lol

Would-be assassin aims gun at Bulgarian opposition leader’s head and pulls the trigger… but victim survives after weapon misfires

Ahmed Dogan was giving speech at conference in capital Sofia
Dramatic footage shows man storming the stage and attempting to shoot the politician from point blank range
Weapon fails to fire allowing Mr Dogan time to escape

Security guards and politicians kick and beat attacker to the ground

By Richard Hartley-parkinson

A Bulgarian politician today survived an extraordinary assassination attempt when a man stormed the stage and held a gun to his head as he was giving a speech.

Fortunately for Ahmed Dogan, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the weapon misfired giving him time to react and hit the would-be assassins hand out of the way.

Before he can attempt a second shot the unidentified suspect is tackled to the ground by security guards and delegates attending the conference in Sofia.

Television footage showed the man jumping out of the audience and interrupting a speech by 58-year-old Dogan, who has led the party for almost a quarter of a century.

In a split second, he raises the gun to Mr Dogan’s head but it appears to misfire.

The politician then knocks gone the gun away and falls to the floor as he attempts to flee.

Security guards and delegates rush onto the stage where they wrestle the attacker to the ground.

A separate group surrounds a shocked Mr Dogan in a protective shield.

Politicians then appear from the audience and begin raining blows on the suspect as he is pinned to the ground.

He was later pictured being taken away by police bloodied and bruised.

They Are All In It Together

Fox News - and probably other networks and news sites - are reporting that the Journal-News has taken down it’s web page that features the names and addresses of tens of thousands of law abiding pistol permit holders in Rockland and Westchester Counties in New York.

New York newspaper removes gun permit database from website after outcry

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A suburban New York City newspaper has removed the names and addresses of residents with pistol permits from its website.

Publication of the permit data following last month’s school shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn. produced a storm of outrage from gun owners. It also quickly resulted in a new state measure meant to protect permit holders’ privacy.

The president and publisher of The Journal News Media Group announced the move Friday. Janet Hasson said the new law does not require removing the data, but “doing so complies with its spirit.”

The Journal News had published interactive maps on its LoHud.com site pinpointing thousands of permit holders in Westchester and Rockland County. The maps remained online late Friday but could no longer be manipulated to find names and addresses.

Fox News reporter Trace Gallagher was on TV saying how the paper had outed “several” counties of data on the web page, and how the Journal-News said took the page down 27 days after publishing it because people move around and the data they showed could lose accuracy over time.  Which is pretty damn funny because my name was one of those dots on the map ... and the data on me is 15 years old. They also sort of claimed to be stealing a march on the possibly changing law that would make such a disclosure illegal.

But neither Mr. Gallagher at 7:30pm nor the other talking heads on Fox News TV several hours later, nor the article online quoted here in its entirety, mention a single word about the 2 burglaries that have occurred in the past week that may be directly tied to that web page. The first one, the one in Westchester that failed, absolutely was due to the Journal’s “outing” although officials aren’t admitting it; the second one, in Rockland county just yesterday that DID result in several handguns and permits being stolen, most likely also was. Oh hell, of course it was; anybody with open eyes and a functioning brain can put 1 and 1 together and see that they add up to “massive lawsuit”.

And one day later the Journal-News pulls the page. CYA much? Company lawyers wielding a major cluebat at corporate HQ? Hella yeah.

And Fox, “fair, balanced, and unafraid”, doesn’t say a thing about either robbery. No connection. No implication. Nothing to see here, move along. Sheep.

One part of the media covering another. Even “rebel” Fox News. You can’t trust any of them to give you the truth or the whole story.

PS - not a word from CNN either, who tries really hard to make the Journal-News look like heroes.

The Irony Is Killing Me

Biden Blames Violence on ‘Coarsening of Our Culture’

Speaking to hundreds of mayors from around the country, Vice President Joe Biden made a case for President Barack Obama’s sweeping executive orders and proposed legislation to curb gun violence, but he did not lay the blame exclusively on weapons.

“This isn’t just about guns,” Biden said on Thursday at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C. “It’s about the coars[en]ing of our culture.

“Yes, that’s what I said, the coarsening of our culture, whether it’s with video games or movies or behavior,” Biden said.

Hey Sheriff Joe, you’d better get right to work on this one. As you like to say in public, “this is a big fucking deal.”

Biden concluded his remarks by repeating his charge about the role culture plays in violence in society.

“I believe we can turn this all around,” Biden said. “It’s not all because of guns.

“It’s a lot of other things,” Biden said. “But maybe what happened in Newtown is a call to action about more than just gun violence; about civility in our society.”

After finishing his remarks, Biden then complemented the mayor of Cincinnati who was in the front row with his wife. “Hey man, nice tits on your broad there.”

Ok, I added that last bit. But you can hear him saying it in your mind can’t you? Oh yes you can. Hell, I can see him grinning like an idiot and copping a feel.

A Different Kind Of Chocolate

Former NOLA Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin Busted For Bribery And Fraud

Par for the course. Of course.

Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was indicted Friday on charges that he used his office for personal gain, accepting payoffs, free trips and gratuities from contractors while the city was struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The charges against Nagin are the outgrowth of a City Hall corruption investigation that already has resulted in guilty pleas by two former city officials and two businessmen and a prison sentence for a former city vendor.

The federal indictment accuses Nagin of accepting more than $160,000 in bribes and truckloads of free granite for his family business in exchange for promoting the interests of a local businessman who secured millions of dollars in city contract work after the 2005 hurricane. The businessman, Frank Fradella, pleaded guilty in June to bribery conspiracy and securities-fraud charges and has been cooperating with federal authorities.

Nagin, 56, also is charged with accepting at least $60,000 in payoffs from another businessman, Rodney Williams, for his help in securing city contracts for architectural, engineering and management services work. Williams, who was president of Three Fold Consultants LLC, pleaded guilty Dec. 5 to a conspiracy charge.

The indictment also accuses Nagin of getting free private jet and limousine services to New York from an unidentified businessman. Nagin is accused of agreeing to wave tax penalties that the businessman owed to the city on a delinquent tax bill in 2006.

The old king of the Big Easy is a Big Sleazy. Off to the hooscow with you Rayray. 25 years ought to be about right I think.

Legislative Gun Stunt Backfires

Frighteningly Stupid Democrat Pulls Out AK-47 In VA State Assembly

image

A Richmond-area lawmaker brandished an AK-47 on the floor of the Virginia House of Delegates on Thursday in a wild stunt aimed at rallying support for tougher gun laws.

Del. Joe Morrissey, D-Highland Springs, pulled the weapon out shortly after the day’s session got underway, a time when legislators typically welcome school groups and other visitors in the chamber’s gallery.

Morrissey assured his colleagues the gun was not loaded and pointed it toward the ceiling as he pleaded for Republican House Speaker Bill Howell to help push through a subcommittee the assault weapons ban that Morrissey is proposing.

Being true Americans, the Virginia delegates handed him his ass in a paper bag.

Republicans in the chamber were not amused by Morrissey’s stunt.

Del. Todd Gilbert, R-Woodstock, interrupted Morrissey’s speech to ask him to take his finger off the trigger lock and later said that taking guns from citizens is what led to the Holocaust and mass killings under the Soviet Gulag.

“Those who put the Second Amendment into the fabric of our nation understood that a government that is formed and instituted by free people trust its citizens with the right to defend themselves with arms,” Gilbert said.

Hey Mr. Newspaper guy: there ain’t no trigger lock on that rifle. That’s his THUMB in the picture, ON THE TRIGGER, gripping a rifle with a magazine in it and the bolt closed (no bolt hold-open on an AK, IIRC).
[That big blob of metal at the front of the trigger guard is not a safety like on an M1 Garand, nor is it a trigger lock. It’s the magazine release lever housing.]

“A lot of people don’t know that in many locations in the commonwealth, you can take this gun, you can walk in the middle of Main Street loaded and not be in violation of the law,” Morrissey said. “Even though the law right now says you can’t bring this gun into a high school or elementary or middle school, there is nothing from keeping you from walking in front of [an elementary school with a gun].”

So what? It’s what we call freedom, a concept pretty much unknown to you bed wetting nanny state sissys. freedom goes hand in hand with another concept foreign to you, called personal responsibility.

It is actually not illegal to bring a gun, loaded or otherwise, into the Virginia statehouse. If you have a CCW, if you’re a cop, or if you’re a member that is. But this is a real dumb-ass stunt, even if it is a post-ban weapon (no pistol grip but a thumbhole stock instead, ie a work-around).

A House subcommittee late Thursday effectively killed Morrissey’s bill, which mirrored President Obama’s call for a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammo magazines following the mass killing of 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school. The same panel also rejected universal background checks for gun buyers and sent a proposal to arm school staff to Gov. Bob McDonnell’s school safety task force.

Damn right they did. This is Virginia after all.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll showed nearly two-thirds of Virginians support banning military-style assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. More than 90 percent favor universal background checks.

Morrissey told lawmakers: “The people want us, by an overwhelming margin, to ban these weapons.”

Bull + Shiite. To the Nth power. If QU ran such a poll, then it was intensely skewed, polling only hippies, college students, and attendees at the Joe Biden Is Our God convention. No doubt the questions were weaselly worded, running two or more issues together. “Are you in favor of universal background checks and banning abortions performed by chainsaws?” kind of thing.

Joe Morrissey. Sleazeball drama queen. Go back to chasing ambulances Joe, and this time try harder to bite the tires when they’re going 40mph. Idiot.

Oh, and let me ask some of my Virginian readers, since I’ve never been to your statehouse: isn’t the gallery where the school kids go when they come visit up above the floor where the delegates are? So this jerkwad was essentially pointing a gun in their direction?? A gun that you can’t tell by looking whether it’s loaded or not? A gun he was holding by the friggin’ trigger??? Wow. Whadda maroon. I think Eddie the Eagle needs to do an emergency intervention.

Horry Clap. His thumb is pressing on the trigger. OMFG.

eye candy with a h/t to lyndonB

About four days ago I posted a few photos I regarded as Eye Candy.

image

Had never seen this lady but thought she didn’t look bad for age and the fact that she wasn’t some runway model. So I posted her photos.

Well, our friend LyndonB, ever alert to these things cos I think he does research with Drew, made the following comment.

Nadia Sawhala is not quite so slim these days. In fact I would go as far as to say she’s a bit of a bloater. Her sister Julia is better looking in my view.

Posted by LyndonB

Lyndon is not known to be wrong friends, at least not as long as I’ve been reading his comments and exchanges of emails, and hounding him for information on things Brit and beyond.

So I went looking for the sister of the lady in red above and .....

Got a bit confused over identification. Here’s a shot of lady ID’d as Julia, the sister Lyndon mentions. But it looks to my tired old eyes like a younger and slimmer Nadia.  Tell me what you think. Which one??  Lyndon?

image

And now here’s the awesome JULIA.

And here’s my final contribution for the evening.

a man and his gun, brought down by a damn squirrel and stooly neighbor

Now here’s a gun story that’ll chill ya.

This old guy is going to court charged with .... here. You can read it yourself.  I feel sorry for fellow, and know well what he’s talking about. Damn things are a menace.  And smart.

He was turned in by a stool pigeon neighbor.

Pensioner is hauled to court after taking his air rifle to a squirrel

Bill Worthington trapped and shot the garden pest twice

He went shopping and returned to find it alive, so shot it a further three times
It still didn’t die and had to be put down by a vet
He now faces six months in jail or a £5,000 fine after neighbour reported him

By LIZ HULL

After watching it raid his garden bird table once too often, Bill Worthington decided enough was enough.

The retired civil servant set a trap for his bushy-tailed foe and lay in wait.

It didn’t take long for the grey squirrel to take the bait and, with the animal cornered in the make-shift cage, the 75-year-old from Stockport, Greater Manchester, shot it twice with his air rifle.

He went shopping but, when he returned two hours later, the animal was still alive so he shot it a further three times.

Yesterday it emerged Worthington is facing up to six months in jail or a £5,000 fine after being hauled before the courts for causing unnecessary suffering to the squirrel.

The keen crown green bowler and bird lover was reported to the RSPCA by a neighbour who spotted the animal, maimed, but still alive in his garden.

The five shots failed to kill the animal and it was later put down.

Worthington pleaded guilty but told the hearing he had been ‘provoked’ by the activities of the squirrels, which he described as ‘garden rats’ and ‘vermin’.

Speaking afterwards, he said: ‘I cannot believe I have been taken to court over this one grey squirrel, which, frankly, has been a pest and vermin. It does seem over the top.

Claire Aldridge, prosecuting, told Stockport Magistrates’ Court that the RSPCA was alerted on September 27 last year by a neighbour who had spotted the injured squirrel in the garden of Worthington’s home, in Bredbury.

She said: ‘The squirrel had been trapped in a cage in the defendant’s garden. Worthington took his .22 air rifle and shot at it two times.

‘The defendant went shopping at approximately 11am and left the squirrel in the trap.

‘Later when he returned, it was still grabbing at the cage and biting it.

‘So the defendant shot the squirrel a further three times at around 2:30pm. He left the squirrel in the trap and went out.’

Worthington, who left to visit his sick wife in a care home, said he assumed the animal was dead, but when the RSPCA arrived at 4.20pm it was still alive.

‘The RSPCA recovered a live squirrel in the middle of the defendant’s garden,’ Miss Aldridge said.

‘This defendant shot a squirrel five times over five hours. He said he didn’t care about the suffering of the animal. The method of dispatch should be carried out humanely.

‘What he did was unacceptably cruel and entirely unnecessary. He found it comical that the RSPCA were even investigating.’

Lee Strap, the vet who eventually put down the animal, confirmed it had multiple pellet wounds and was alive but unresponsive.

When questioned by RSPCA officers Worthington was described as ‘obtrusive’.

He confirmed he was a user of a .22 rifle and referred to the squirrels as ‘vermin’ and ‘garden rats’.

Worthington, defending himself, added: ‘We are talking about one squirrel here. The vet says the squirrel was “alive but not responsive”. That’s how I saw it. I tried my best to have away with it but I had other things to do.’

Magistrates granted Worthington unconditional bail. He will be sentenced next month.

‘He found it comical that the RSPCA were even investigating.’
And so would many others who are not yet aware of the police authority this agency has. And I bet she didn’t like the idea that he thought it was funny.

“Worthington was described as ‘obtrusive”.

I guess that means the bitch didn’t like his attitude. Hmmm. That must also mean he hasn’t a right to one.

Now if he’d had at least a 22 cal. rifle, at the very least, that might have worked faster. But auntie don’t allow.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
