Life sucks

Not much posting from me lately.  The mother in law is dying, slowly. Years? Months? Who knows? Terminal illness, wasting away. Nothing can stop it, and at most we can only try to make her comfortable. It eats up every spare minute of 4 people’s lives, and is not an easy thing. Nursing home? Sure; get her on the lists now, and then sell the house out from under her to pay for it, and pray that the closing date lines up with the admittance date. As if. Nor is the MIL the only one with health issues. Others in the extended family too ... not fun.

Wife’s job is mysteriously suddenly unstable. What was once a thriving surgical practice with unlimited overtime has now become a part-time job on a day to day basis. She never knows if she’ll work a full day, a half day, or be told not to come in. But the patients have had their fill of the poorly run practice, and are fleeing like the proverbial rats. I don’t think the place will be closing it’s doors, but her wobbly paycheck is starting to get under her skin. Get some fresh training, get your resume out there. Stress.

So I’ll churn stuff out when I have the energy to. Sorry.

a couple of muzzie mommy dearests

Appropriate title I think.

There was an article in the paper a week or so ago that says the mudslime population in the US doubled since 9/11.
Seems unreal but even if it only increased by one, that’s a few too many.  And of course here in the UK they sometimes seem be a protected species of some sort.
Why protect insects?
Anyway .... here’s a couple of heartwarming articles to cheer you all into the weekend.
They come here dragging their horrid customs and dress and unpronounceable names.  The future bodes ill my friends. Our numbers go down, they breed like the vermin they are, their numbers in the USA alone are predicted to reach more then 6 million in the next 20 yrs. That is not a long time. And they will become citizens so that they can vote. I’ve no idea what numbers are predicted for the UK, but it can not be anything good.

When they aren’t killing in the name of honor, they’re forcing daughters into marriage in the name of same.

A Muslim woman who repeatedly attacked a 10-year-old girl with a steel ladle for not reading enough verses of the Koran was jailed today.

Asia Parveen, 31, who was pregnant at the time, left the child with 57 injuries and later claimed her violent outburst had been prompted by her hormones.

Parveen hit the girl with the metal spoon for 45 minutes and forced her to stand with her arms outstretched for four hours.

The girl only managed to escape when Parveen told her she was going to kill her and ran into her kitchen for a knife which she brandished.

Parveen, a former professional dancer who toured world-wide, had been fasting before the attack took place as it was the Muslim holy month of Ramadam.

Snaresbrook Crown Court heard Parveen was considered to be ‘immoral’ by some in Pakistan for her previous career as a dancer.

It was for this reason that she wanted the girl to take her religious duties of reading the Koran seriously.

The girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, managed to escape and was found by police almost four hours later in the cold and alone at a bus stop.

Doctors identified 57 injuries when she was examined at hospital with marks on her arms, legs, elbows and head.

Mother of eight drugged and kidnapped her daughter, 23, because she refused arranged marriage to her cousin

Shamin Akhtar of Bradford, West Yorkshire, was unanimously found guilty by a jury at Preston Crown Court
Detectives have described the mother-of-eight’s crime ‘as every child’s worst nightmare’
Victim was persuaded to have some warm milk, which made her feel dizzy and made her sick
Father and sister were both cleared - outside court the victim’s father Mohammed Khan said: ‘I miss my daughter’

A Muslim mother faces a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of drugging and kidnapping her own daughter when she broke off an arranged marriage and secretly married another man.

Shamim Akhtar, 59, plotted with close relatives to abduct her youngest daughter, Naila Afsar, 25, after she refused to marry her first cousin and ran away to marry her lover, Afsar Saddiq.

When her family discovered what she had done they threatened to kill her, before giving her a drink laced with a prescription sedative and driving her back to the family home.
Preston Crown Court was told that the family took Mr Saddiq’s mobile phone so he could not contact his bride and told him she would not be returning.

But the plot fell apart when Mr Saddiq dialled 999. Police stopped the Akhtars’ family car at a petrol station. They discovered Mrs Afsar drowsy on the back seat and she was taken to hospital.

Following a four week trial, mother-of-eight Akhtar, of Bradford, was found guilty of false imprisonment, kidnap and two counts of administering a drug with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Her son Shamrez Khan, 34, also of Bradford, and her son-in-law Zahid Mahmood, 37, of Accrington, Lancashire, admitted the same charges. All three were remanded in custody pending sentence next month.

Mrs Afsar broke down in the witness box as she recounted how she discovered when she was just 15 that her parents were planning an arranged marriage between her and her cousin, Amraiz Khan, who lived in Denmark.

She went along with their plans and agreed to get engaged in May 2009, but soon realised she and her cousin were incompatible and called off the wedding. Jonathan Dickinson, prosecuting, said: ‘Her family was upset with her ... that was, perhaps, putting it mildly.’

Mrs Afsar ran away to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where she met and married Mr Saddiq in November 2009. The couple visited her parents at their home in the hope of reconciliation shortly afterwards, but they were told to divorce.

On the morning of January 17, 2010, the newlyweds were in bed at home when they heard banging on the doors.

Khan appeared in their bedroom shouting, while his mother and brother-in-law waited downstairs. They persuaded Mrs Afsar to stay at her sister Saima’s house in Accrington for two nights, claiming that her nieces were missing her.

But after she arrived and, unbeknown to Mrs Afsar, her mother, brother and brother-in-law travelled back to Newcastle to confront Mr Saddiq.

the Great Global Warming Lie and gullible loons

Further to the post re. weather Drew posted.
Here’s what Littlejohn of the Mail had to say.

So it might as well rain until September

By Richard Littlejohn

The usual gullible loons have been bouncing up and down following my column on Tuesday about the Great Global Warming Lie.

I’m accused of not knowing the difference between ‘weather’ and ‘climate’. It’s the line they always trot out when you point out the inconvenient truth about alleged ‘man-made climate change’.

But why should we believe long-term ‘climate’ predictions from global warming scaremongers like the Met Office when they can’t even get the weather forecast right from one week to the next?

Here, for instance, is the official three-month outlook from the Met Office, published on March 23 this year and sent to me by reader Ray McNaughton: ‘The forecast for average UK rainfall slightly favours drier-than-average conditions for April-May-June as a whole and also slightly favours April being the driest of the three months.’

How did that turn out, then?

According to the latest revised Met Office figures on its website: ‘Most of England, Wales and eastern Scotland were much wetter than normal, making it provisionally the wettest April on record across the UK.

‘Much of eastern and southern England, east Wales and eastern Scotland recorded well over twice the normal amount, with three times normal in places. The number of days with rain was comparable to that in April 1998, the highest in the last 50 years.’

Incidentally, 1998 is the last year in which the world was allegedly ‘warming’.

You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows .

An invite to certain BMEWS to my Facebook page. Drew, peiper, wardmama4, Macker. Others, maybe. Vilmar, if he’s still lurking.

I only ask, since this is family/friends, no half-naked women peiper, or Drew. I know, I’ve posted a few myself, but not on Facebook.

I know I’m breaking anonymity, but on Facebook I’m Christopher Mosier. So look me up, if interested, and ask to be ‘friends’.

No Mas, No Mas, No Mosque

St. Anthony Minnesota City Council rejects Islamic center plan

Raaaacist!! Discriminaaaaation!!!

St. Anthony City Council members on Tuesday rejected plans to locate an Islamic center in the basement of the former Medtronic headquarters off Old Hwy. 8.

The proposed Abu-Huraira Islamic Center had been on hold for months after some residents objected to the center and city leaders studied whether city zoning would support the facility.

About 150 people attended Tuesday’s council meeting, where Muslim proponents asked the council to approve the nearly 15,000-square-foot center, which would be used for worship and assembly by the congregation of about 200.

“I’m a proud American. This is home. The center will serve the needs of our community,” Sadik Warfa said.

“I know this issue is very emotional for some people. We are a melting pot. We are all Americans.”

Close to a dozen St. Anthony residents asked the council to deny the proposal, which they argued would reduce tax revenues, an argument Mayor Jerry Faust denied. Others contended the center would attract increased traffic in the neighborhood and create problems for those living nearby.

Some who spoke against the center made disparaging comments about the Muslim faith, although Faust tried to discourage such remarks.

“Islam is evil. There’s no other religion in the world that endorses violence,” said John Murlowski, before Faust cut him off.

Supporters of the center expressed disappointment following the 4-1 decision.

Ali Garushi, a spokesman for the Islamic center, said Muslim leaders will convene in the coming days and will consider filing suit to challenge the council’s action.

“It’s discrimination against Muslims,” Garushi said. “This is a dirty war they’ve been doing.”

Yeah, and what goes on in Egypt, Ethiopia, the Sudan, and everywhere the green flag flies ... church burnings, rapes, murders, the criminalization of all non-islamic religious things, ... all that’s just the random acts of “disaffected youths”? I think not. Your dirty war has been going on for 800 years. It’s high time some small part of the battle came your way.

Rain Rain Go Away

Looks like the Rain Spirits have left my little corner of the world and gone to visit Peiper’s. Sorry about that.

“50 Year Storm” About To Batter Britain

Hey, didn’t you guys just have a “50 year storm” last year too? Must be that damned global warming.

England and Wales are back on flood alert as Britain braces for a “once in 50 years” storm which could bring a month’s worth of rain in 24 hours and 70mph winds.

After a dry period of respite for many parts of Britain over the last two days, the wet weather is set to return this evening and get worse tomorrow as a slow-moving area of low pressure brings thundery showers and strong winds.

The Met Office has issued a new warning of wet and windy weather with periods of persistent heavy rain for parts of Wales and south-western England from late today until Saturday.

The Weather Channel said rivers would be overwhelmed and warned of a “major flooding event.” Up to 50mm more rain is due in many areas on Friday.

The Environment Agency told people in the South-West, Wales and Midlands to “prepare for flooding.” Dozens of flood alerts and warnings are expected to be in place tomorrow.

EA bosses implemented 24-hour shift patterns, visited all 150 campsites in Devon and Cornwall to warn of flooding and dispatched hundreds of extra flood specialists to assess nationwide defences and clear debris blocking rivers and drains.

“A couple of showers” is the forecast for Peiper’s corner of the Realm.

image

“A bit of wet” shut down his highway to London, above
British Understatement at it’s best? LOL

Peter Quarmby, the Environment Agency’s South East flood and coastal risk manager, said: “We have seen exceptional rainfall in the region over the past few days and have seen the devastating effects that flooding can cause.

“Our thoughts are with those who have been affected.

“We are focusing all efforts in working in areas that have been affected by flooding over the past few days to lower river levels and will continue to work alongside our emergency partners to assist flooded communities with immediate response and recovery.

“Latest forecasts indicate that heavy rainfall is again expected to cross the South East on Friday and into the weekend. We urge everyone to remain vigilant ahead of further rainfall tomorrow and over the weekend.

“We are monitoring the weather forecasts very closely and the possibility remains that we could issue further flood alerts in response to any significant rainfall.”
...
Weather Channel forecaster Leon Brown said: “There’s a 50 per cent possibility of extreme downpours seeing over 80mm of rain in 12 hours in south and east Wales, which is a once-in-50 years event.
...
“The heaviest rain was expected this evening and overnight, with 20-40mm widely and the potential for 40-60mm across upland Wales and particularly Northern Ireland, accompanied by gales gusing to 50mph.
...
“Saturday looks rather unsettled with most places seeing showers or longer spells of rain.”

“Rather unsettled”???? Time to break out the Wellies!!

short F-stop

I always loved short f-stop photography. The subjects in the foreground of the picture are in razor sharp focus, while the background just a few feet behind them gets blurred. With the right kind of lighting this can give you a nearly three dimensional appearing image. You need a lens of pretty good quality to take this kind of pictures, one that will open up wider than f3.8. Somewhere around f2.5 or less does the job, if I recall correctly ... I haven’t taken a picture using actual film in more than a decade. Too bad, as I have a whole bag of camera goodies in a closet somewhere. The digital cameras I do have have an “aperture priority” mode, but the iris doesn’t open anywhere near this wide. Sure, you can get one, but it will cost you a bag of cash; you won’t find that quality of lens in a compact digital camera for under $350.

framer threatens travellers on his land with force.

Well it’s about damn time.

Score one for the side of right and logic.

The story and photos say more then I can. Enjoy.

Now, if only it were legal to kill the vermin. Ah. Relief.

· Dave Dawson threatened to remove travellers by force himself after declaring: ‘I won’t tolerate it.’

· Police say travellers left of their own accord in two hours 50 minutes after Mr Dawson’s intervention
By LUKE SALKELD
When he found travellers’ caravans had arrived on his land, Dave Dawson had two options.
He could either alert the authorities and wait for the slow turning of the wheels of justice and officialdom.
Or he could rely on the somewhat quicker wheels of his digger – and remove the caravans by force.
Taking the second course of action, Mr Dawson put in a call to the police to inform them of his intentions, which risked leading to his arrest.

‘I just won’t tolerate it. It is my land. I bought it and I have worked hard for it. I called the police and told them I was going to get the digger and move them.
‘I didn’t care if they got squashed, flattened or left on their own, but one way or another I was going to get them off my land.’

There’s a lot to see and read but the one thing that really stands out and shows you all just how insane the laws here are, is this.

‘The police told me that once they are on the land they have rights. But what about my rights?’ Mr Dawson added.

‘As it was, the police threatened to arrest me. It has already cost me a day’s work and about £500 to repair the damage. They cut through a metal gate and put their own lock on it.’

once they are on the land they have rights

Does that one tiny line convey just how thoroughly fucked up the politicians have allowed this place to become?

not a bad looking ex spy

That temp. thingy on the right says it’s 60 degrees here.  Feels more like 30 because of the wind.

This young woman made some news last year. You’ll recall our Russian spy no doubt.
I think she’s hot stuff. What I don’t understand is, why the photo in the paper is a cleaner and sharper shot then on line. No matter. She still looks good to these old eyes.

Heck, ur young only once. If she doesn’t cash in now, she never will and would regret it.

The spy who milked it: Russian spy Anna Chapman takes to the catwalk flanked by ‘secret service agents’ as she continues to cash in on notorious past

By LEON WATSON

Ex-spy Anna Chapman has walked a Turkish catwalk in a long red dress at a fashion show.

The sexy Russian was flanked by two men posing as secret service agents in black suit and sunglasses.

Fashion designer Hikmet Eraslan said his Dosso Dossi clothing company donated to Chapman’s charity foundation for children with poor eyesight in Volgograd in return for her appearance last Friday.

muslim scum to sue french police, claims his killer son was murdered by cops.

I guess if there’s anything to get really angry about, as in steamed, RCOB, it’s this maddening story.

Use your imagination, and think of the very worst things that can be done to vermin like this.

You’ll recall the story that made the world’s headlines recently, where that islamic pond scum in France, shot dead a number of ppl which included a little girl.

Well ..... the French police are facing legal troubles because the scumbag, verminous father got himself a lawyer. Says the police “murdered” his lovely son.
And he found a filthy rotten slag lawyer.  I’d better stop here.

BBC NEWS

Father of Toulouse killer Mohamed Merah sues for murder

Mohamed Merah’s gun attacks shocked France.
The father of Mohamed Merah, the Islamist gunman killed by French police after shooting seven people, has formally sued over his son’s “murder”.

A lawyer for Mohamed Benalel Merah, who lives in Algeria, said the suit was against those “who gave the orders at the top of the police”.

The gunman was shot dead at his flat in Toulouse after a 32-hour siege.

He had confessed to killing seven people, including Jewish children, in a rampage which shocked France.

Mohamed Benalel Merah said soon after his son’s death on 22 March he intended to sue the French government.

On Monday, French lawyer Isabelle Coutant-Peyre, who is assisting Algerian lawyer Zahia Mokhtari, filed the suit in Paris.

“This is a suit against unnamed persons for murder with aggravating circumstances concerning those who gave the orders at the top of the police,” said Ms Coutant-Peyre.

In all, Merah, 23, shot dead three soldiers, three children and a teacher, filming his attacks.

He was dubbed the “scooter killer” because of the stolen vehicle he used in the three separate shootings in Toulouse and the nearby town of Montauban.

Ms Coutant-Peyre was quoted by AFP news agency as saying: “You’ve got 300 to 400 heavily armed people and a guy shut up all alone in his apartment. That alone is enough to raise questions.”

The father’s suggestion in March that the French authorities had deliberately chosen to kill his son rather than capture him caused indignation in Paris.

“If I were the father of such a monster, I would shut my mouth in shame,” said Alain Juppe, who was then French foreign minister.

loss of temper, another spot check at market cashier line, loss of temper, pc problem l.o.t. again

WHEREIN I LOSE MY TEMPER AND SWEAR. A LOT!

At the end of May or very near it by a week, we had cause to transfer money from the USA to a bank here in the UK.

image

Not the first time we’ve done this and we know it isn’t done over night. Although in truth I’d be willing to bet the bastards could, except that by holding your money the lying shits are making money on our money for the time held. Anyway .... when the wife called to check and see if the money had arrived, as we pay our bills and some are debit like the county tax, naturally we’re concerned.  At the time of her call, it had not cleared. I don’t expect American banks are any different, altho a quick check confirmed that our American account had indeed been debited the amount.

I called today to check again and used the auto service which is okay after entering 22 secret numbers. Yeesh. Still nothing and so I clicked the option to speak to someone live.  Wouldn’t ya know .... I get a call center in Scotland and a young lady who spoke as tho she were on helium. Have any of you (Brits aside) ever had the PAIN of listening to a thick Scots accent? Oh boy.  I had to ask her to please slow down as between her speaking speed and that awful accent, I hardly understood a word.

Well of course there were a host security questions. I do understand the need for strict security in the nasty cyber world we inhabit today.  Of course, it wouldn’t be quite so bad if the damned left wing human and civil rights industry had not made things sooooo easy for the gremlins.  Which is why we have to jump thru so many security hoops.

I was asked questions which seemed fair enuff but from time to time I had to ask my wife for an answer, as usually it’s she who cares for the financial paperwork that I cause to happen.  Btw, just like anywhere else, the dialect can differ depending on where in Scotland they are. And all are Greek to my American ears.
At one point she stopped me and said that I must not try and get answers from another person in the room.  But I’m speaking to my wife. We live together. Get it? Marriage. Two people, same house.  No she informs me. She only has my word that’s my wife. So okay I said, lets continue and I won’t talk to my wife.  But of course my wife could tell by the conversation, aided by the fact that I was repeating the questions and saying hold on while I look for that information here in my folder.

Things ended badly because I was informed that first of all I was asked for the most recent statement figures. Well as it turned out, that was May. But no. She wanted the June statement. But it hasn’t come as yet. We do not have it. So a couple of other questions were asked and after a short wait I was informed that I failed the security test. I missed a question.  Okay, which one I asked. Oh, she couldn’t give that info. Then how am I supposed to know exactly what you need and where any error I may have made can be corrected.  But she said she had already given me more time then allowed, I would have to call back and start the god damned process all over again.
That’s about the time my stored patience along with the ‘F’ word broke out of it’s verbal cuffs and I let fly.  Just could not help it. Not really her fault of course.  But I got the feeling being stuck in the conversation, that being stuck in purgatory must be something like this.
And speaking of being stuck and thoroughly pissed off, I am writing this using WORD 2000. I think.  Have never had a spot of trouble or problem, until the last few minutes.

Letters are hanging. Whole damn words are not appearing on this page. I am now having to type verrry, sloooowly. Or the frakin letters won’t appear.
Just what I need on top of everything else today.
Wife in for spinal X-Ray.  She can walk, sort of. She can drive short (very short) distance.  But very painful for her.

I Went to the market down the road the day before yesterday with a neighbor who had some shopping to do there as well.
I like that gadget that’s hand held, you scan your own items and then go thru the fast quick check lane.  Your stuff already totalled and bagged by you, all you have to do hand the gizmo to the cashier and run your card thru the slot or pay cash. Done.

So all of a sudden there flashed on my small hand held screen, the request to unload and have everything rescanned by cashier. I was told it was a spot check, everyone gets it once in awhile. Okay. No problem. Everything cleared and out we went.

So today on the way back from the clinic, the wife mentioned that we needed a few things, and as rain was predicted again for tomorrow, she’d rather get what we needed today and anyway, we had to pass the market on the way home.  The thing about those quick check hand held scanners is, you are more likely to spend more. And so we did. Got to the fast lane and damn it.  It happened again.  Spot check and everything had to be rescanned by the cashier. 2wice in three days?  Too damn much.
Better to go online and shop Tesco and have them deliver.

So now you have my entire day and I am still very much PO’d because of this damn WORD problem. WTF next?

Sugar Sugar

No, not a revival of the old Archies tune, a broadside against the sweetening up of the American and English diets.

Are you fat? Blame Nixon.

And once again, it’s looking more and more that Atkins was right. Low glycemic index eating, Italian, Greek, Mediterranean eating styles, caveman diet, gluten free diet ... it all boils down to 1) eliminate the excess sugars, 2) eliminate or severely reduce the white flour, 3) get rid of as many artificial additives as possible, 4) curb your sweet tooth.

Read a good essay on why everyone in the UK is a right fat bastard ... although it looks like the PC term is “bariatrically challenged”.  Ambulances with fat spatulas and people cranes? Eww.

But hey, Americans are just as piggy.

And it’s a conspiracy theory? Agribusiness and government knowingly behind the whole thing, blaming fat while loading us down with sugars and fast carbs? Or could it just be an unforeseen and unintended consequence of the Green Revolution and the rise of global scale agribusiness?

I Finally Sent Out A Dove

Sun is shinin’ in the sky
There ain’t a cloud in sight
It’s stopped rainin’
everybody’s in a play
And don’t you know it’s a beautiful new day

I’m crossing my fingers here, hoping that it has finally stopped raining. Sure, we’ve had 8 or 10 dry days in the past month and a half or so, and the roofers here have taken advantage of that. And we’ve had a fair number of days when it only rained half the day. But it has been awfully wet here this Spring, and pretty cool to boot. And to think that the Weather Wienies were fretting in March about the reservoir levels being down a bit from the lack of snow this past winter. Yeah right.

Spring. Ha. Summer officially begins in just over a week. It’s the middle of June and it’s all of 65°. The local forecast is for the next 10 days to be dry, with daytime temps eventually getting up to the low 80s. So I’m pondering whether the Winter That Wasn’t will be followed by the Summer That Slumped, thus giving us nearly a whole year of medial weather. That only seems right after the severe winter and the blazing summer of the previous year. Weather: it’s a big old balancing act, and we’re owed at this point.

Whatever. It’s stopped raining and the mud may even get a chance to dry up now. And my dove seems to be eating an olive leaf. Hurray!!

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
