Obamacare and the Commerce Clause

Obama is justifying His takeover of medical insurance under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

The Commerce Clause only covers interstate commerce: My doctor is only 1.5 miles from me… my hospital is only 1.5 miles from me… By law, I cannot buy medical insurance outside of the state…(unlike life, auto, home insurance) NONE of my medical commerce crosses state lines.

Under what perverted interpretation of the Commerce Clause does the Clown-in-Chief assume…wait, he IS more an ass…

eye candy

Once in awhile it’s nice to go back to a more innocent past.

Until today, I’d never seen nor heard of PHYLLIS DIXEY, apparently a famous Brit stripper from the 1940s. She was also in a movie or two so I guess Brits of a certain generation would know her.  And so my only post for today is a flash back to 40s Eye Candy.

And for your appreciation and viewing pleasure .... here’s a bit of eye popping viewing.

MORE EYE CANDY

Nice Going Jon

Corzine Bankrupts MF Global, thousand+ lose jobs, pensions

image

T-shirt worn by one newly unemployed MF Global employee expresses disdain for former NJ Governor Boss in perfect New Yawkeese: “Fuck You, You Fuckin’ Fuck!”

Screw you, Jon Corzine.

All 1,066 employees of the bankrupt trading house MF Global got the boot yesterday in a pre-holiday massacre that left workers without severance and benefits—and they blamed only one man for their woes.

“Happy holidays, Corzine, from all your employees who’ve been fired without severance packages!” a worker fumed at her former company CEO as she left the firm’s building at 717 Fifth Ave.

“I have two little kids, it’s almost Christmas, the economy stinks—how am I gonna find a job?” said another worker who just cleaned out his desk.

The 1,066 employees will be paid through next Tuesday, and health benefits will run out at the end of November. Bonuses and other financial perks won’t be paid, workers said.

“It ended like this because of one man,” said Anthony DiMatteo, who worked for MF for 16 years. Corzine is “selfish, greedy,” he said.

If Corzine were around, DiMatteo told Bloomberg News, “I would punch him in the face.”

Another expressed his fury by donning a T-shirt that read: “F--k you, you f--kin’ f--k!”

The pink slips—which went out in New York, Chicago and other MF offices—were court-mandated in the wake of the Oct. 31 Chapter 11 filing of its parent firm, MF Global Holdings Ltd.

The $41 billion firm collapsed after Corzine’s disastrous high-stakes investment in foreign debt blew up in his face.

One man. One IDIOT. Jon Corzine, whose best buddy is Barack Hussein Obama. One step away from being the next top money guy for the entire nation.

A man who was Barack Obama’s #1 Wall Street bundler, and was on the president’s very short list to replace Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary.
...
Jon will survive - he’s a billionaire, and a friend of Barack’s to boot. His former employees at MF Global are not so lucky

And why haven’t the Republicans been all over this - a Democrat’s destruction of jobs, lives, and families, all in the name of Wall Street greed, all while working closely with Barack Obama, who is running his re-election campaign based on opposition to these very same themes?

If they can’t capitalize on this, we might just lose in 2012 after all...

Being out of the country last week, I missed out on the local elections. GOP did pretty well across NJ. An awful lot of people here in this True Blue state now understand the math that Democrats=Jon Corzine=Barack Obama=Loser.
Please bop over to my man in Old Bridge for some of that vote result goodness - Republicans SWEPT entire districts across the state.

Not a 100% sweep in my corner of the state, but local voters elected Republicans about 75-85% of the time in the 5 counties around here in the northwest corner:

Aww Gee, Too Bad

Muslims outraged

over pig parts dumped at Swiss mosque site

Mwaaahahahahaa!

Muslims in Switzerland are responding with shock and outrage after a pig carcass and severed swine heads were discovered buried at the site of a proposed mosque.

Police in the town of Grenchen uncovered the pigs Friday after they received an anonymous message claiming that someone had buried the body parts and spilled 120 liters of blood from the animals in an effort to desecrate the ground to halt the construction of the mosque.

Pork and pork byproducts are haram, or forbidden, in Islam.

The unsigned flier, written in German, says “This operation was done (conducted) to protest against the growing expansion of Islam in Switzerland,” and says that a similar desecration in Spain earlier halted another mosque construction project.

Outstanding. Now do this at least once a week. To every mosque the world over. Make a stand. Push back. Let’s begin The Bacon Revolution.

The police chief says that veterinary health officials have been called in to find if pig’s blood has in fact been spilled, and that charges may be filed over illegal dumping of animal parts in addition to other potential criminal charges.

But for Muslims in Switzerland, it’s just the latest sign that they are being victimized by some in the far right.

Abdel Azziz Qaasim Illi, spokesman for Switzerland’s Central Islamic Council said the deed “crossed a line” that had already been pushed against Muslims since a popular referendum in 2009 banned the construction of new minarets.

“Since the ban on minarets there’s been an increase in Islamophobia and Islamophobic events, so it was not really surprising” said Illi. “But it is an escalation in Switzerland because this is a peaceful country where Christians and Muslims have all been living together… and we are a bit afraid this may increase.”

There are an estimated 500,000 Muslims in Switzerland, out of a population of more than 7 million says Illi, who admitted that the population is rising but that most Swiss Muslims were immigrants from Albania and elsewhere in the Balkans, where there is a tradition of moderate Islam.

Switzerland; land of conservative, buttoned down, responsible white people. Heidi. Cowbells. Probably mostly Lutherans if I had to take a guess. Now so overrun with muzzy immigrants from the ghetto states of south east Europe, to the extent that 1 in 14 in their tiny country is a bomb throwing pedophile worshiper. And anyone who can remember the Balkan Wars of 20 years ago will scoff at that “tradition of moderate Islam” garbage. Remember “ethnic cleansing”? Serbia?  Croatia? Sarajevo?

In The InBox

Early Holiday Shopping Ideas: Support Your Own Economy For Once

Christmas 2011—Birth of a New Tradition

As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods—merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes there is!

It’s time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?

Everyone—yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates from your local American hair salon or barber?

Gym membership? It’s appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some health improvement.

Spa gift certificates - who doesn’t want & need a massage?

Who wouldn’t appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a book of gift certificates.

Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plunking down the Benjamins on a Chinese made flat-screen? Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course.

There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants—all offering gift certificates. And, if your intended isn’t the fancy eatery sort, what about a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this isn’t about big National chains—this is about supporting your home town Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open.

How many people couldn’t use an oil change for their car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?

Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning lady for a day.

Maybe a family member’s computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business up and running.

OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people spin their own wool and knit them into scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery and beautiful wooden boxes.

Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave your server a nice tip. And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at your hometown theater?

Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.

Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Asian made lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of light, about fifty cents stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip.

You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that other countries can build another glittering city. Christmas is now about caring about US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn’t imagine.

THIS is the new American Christmas tradition.

Forward this to everyone on your mailing list—post it to discussion groups—throw up a post on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section in your city—send it to the editor of your local paper and radio stations, and TV news departments.

This is a revolution of caring about each other, and isn’t that what Christmas is about?

Ooh, I like it. And Santa? I could use a nice new, American made, non-government owned, Mustang GT. Although a US made mid-size pickup would be nice too, six and a stick, extended cab?

When Needs Must

Making Do

Just a quick pic from my vacation I thought was funny. On the outer island of Great Guana Cay in Abaco, there are pretty much no cars. What powered transportation there is, is by golf cart or by ATV. There are only one or two roads anyway; the island is just a couple miles long and probably not even a quarter mile wide. Perhaps 150 people actually live there. Next to the one grocery store is the one church, Seaside Gospel, very quaint and well kept, and very small. But the island is quite pretty, and people go there for vacation, and probably a good number of them choose to get married there. That explains this, which I saw on a rather well used golf cart parked down by the main wharf. Gotta have some kind of limo for the newlyweds, right? Even if it only goes 300 yards from the church to the docks.

after this one, I promise, no more vacation pictures. promise!

A Shot In The Arm For The Economy?

Nearly Half A Billion Spent On Smallpox Vaccine

Exactly ZERO cases of smallpox in USA

Pharma Company is Big Obama Donar of course!

It occurs to me that if a) there was no corporate tax, then b) then no companies could make political contributions, and c) there would be no charges of corrupt crony capitalism.
But there would still be graft. Payouts for friends, political appointments, sweetheart deals ... it never ends. But the level of cronyism under the current administration is just beyond comprehension. Hundreds of billions of dollars worth. It never ends. It never even slows down.

$433M Smallpox Drug Contract to Company Tied to Dem Donor

Scientists are questioning a $433 million government contract for a smallpox drug they say the country doesn’t need, amid concerns over the way the project was secured for a firm tied to a Democratic donor.

The Los Angeles Times reported over the weekend that U.S. officials took unusual steps to award the contract to Siga Technologies. Democratic donor Ronald Perelman has the controlling share of the company.

The article cited emails showing the Obama administration replaced the lead negotiator on the project following complaints from Siga—Siga was apparently concerned about the government’s objections to how much money Siga would make off the deal.

Earlier, in December, the government also reportedly blocked other companies from bidding on the contract in a second round.

Siga ultimately won the contract in May, but some questioned the price of the drug—approximately $255 per dose—and the practicality of the project.

The government already has a smallpox vaccine on reserve. Siga’s pill is meant to help people diagnosed too late for the vaccine to be effective, according to the Times.

Reporting from Washington — Over the last year, the Obama administration has aggressively pushed a $433-million plan to buy an experimental smallpox drug, despite uncertainty over whether it is needed or will work.

Senior officials have taken unusual steps to secure the contract for New York-based Siga Technologies Inc., whose controlling shareholder is billionaire Ronald O. Perelman, one of the world’s richest men and a longtime Democratic Party donor.

When Siga complained that contracting specialists at the Department of Health and Human Services were resisting the company’s financial demands, senior officials replaced the government’s lead negotiator for the deal, interviews and documents show.

When Siga was in danger of losing its grip on the contract a year ago, the officials blocked other firms from competing.

Siga was awarded the final contract in May through a “sole-source” procurement in which it was the only company asked to submit a proposal. The contract calls for Siga to deliver 1.7 million doses of the drug for the nation’s biodefense stockpile. The price of approximately $255 per dose is well above what the government’s specialists had earlier said was reasonable, according to internal documents and interviews.

Once feared for its grotesque pustules and 30% death rate, smallpox was eradicated worldwide as of 1978 and is known to exist only in the locked freezers of a Russian scientific institute and the U.S. government. There is no credible evidence that any other country or a terrorist group possesses smallpox.

Siga’s drug, an antiviral pill called ST-246, would be used to treat people who were diagnosed with smallpox too late for the vaccine to help. Yet the new drug cannot be tested for effectiveness in people because of ethical constraints — and no one knows whether animal testing could prove it would work in humans.

Hey, remember when the media had shit-fits 24-7 over some no-bid contracts awarded to Halliburton and Blackhawk for work in the Iraq war zone, even though no other companies existed that could perform the work in the time and scope necessary? Do you think they’ll wind up their alarm sirens and start screaming over this one, when at least a dozen other companies could have made this drug that may not even work and is probably not even needed? [crickets] [more crickets]

Remember when those same media “watchdogs” went turbo-monkey-poo over “no WMDS” in Iraq, and how Iraq was considered the most likely evil nation to even have a bio-terror capability?

So? So what will they say now? [even more crickets]

lonely libtard learns love and marriage gambian style

Gee… hafta feel sorry for the poor and lonely and pathetic lady here. After all, there are no longer any white males left in Britain she could have connected with.

I would have posted a photo but the ones at the link made me frow up so I’m not putting em here.  GAK!

How could I have been so foolish? Widowed millionairess abandoned by Gambian husband of two years… and now he wants her fortune

Widow, 59, married young Gambian a year after meeting him on dating website
She trusted him as he had job in UK and never asked about her wealth

By ARTHUR MARTIN and ANDY DOLAN

After the devastating loss of her husband, lonely millionairess Christine Ince thought she had found love again with a younger Gambian man.

Aware of the potential pitfalls, the 59-year-old widow spent a year getting to know Mustapha Jabbai, 36, before agreeing to marry him.

The mother of three believed his intentions were honourable because he had a permanent job in the UK and had never asked her about her wealth.

However, shortly after their second anniversary, Mr Jabbai walked out of her £850,000 five-bedroom detached home in the picturesque village of Tilbrook, near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

Hours later, Mrs Ince discovered their wedding certificate and other documents Mr Jabbai would need to stay in the UK were missing.

Worse was to follow. Mr Jabbai then filed for divorce and is demanding the millionairess pay him maintenance and a one-off separation payment and set him up with a pension.

In a witness statement for the divorce hearing, Mrs Ince claims the marriage was a ‘sham’ so ‘he could get an indefinite leave to remain visa’.

She goes on to accuse Mr Jabbai of bigamy and claims the woman he introduced to her as his sister is actually his Gambian wife Yama Jabbai.

Mrs Ince believes he walked out on her just after their two-year anniversary because he had spent long enough married to her to be granted the right to stay in Britain.

‘At the time, I believed he cared for me,’ she said in her statement.

‘I have been made ill by Mustapha’s betrayal of my trust, by his lies and deceit. I feel violated as if I have been raped.

‘It is distressing for me to have lived with someone and to find out I actually know nothing about them.

the rest of this sorry ass tale along with sick pix is here

political pygmies running the show in UK, bow as always to EU human rights laws

This is so far beyond moronic I can’t find the words.
Whatever happened to something called logic?  Common sense and survival of self and community?
How can you run a country if you insist on following the letter of a law written in another country by people who were not elected by the voters and taxpayers in your country?  Answer that one please.

I can not believe, in spite of what what I read here, that the UK can’t simply tell the ECOHR that some rules are just plain daft and unworkable. And unreasonable.
For damn certain unreasonable.

Look at this one.  Insane!

Dancing at his own wedding ‘paralysed’ Moroccan who claimed £400,000 in benefits… and can’t be kicked out because of human rights

By COLIN FERNANDEZ

An illegal immigrant who claimed to be paralysed from the neck down but was filmed dancing at his wedding cheated more than £400,000 in benefits, a court heard yesterday.

But even though Mohamed Bouzalim, 37, has admitted dishonestly entering the country and fraudulently exploiting the welfare system, legal sources said they will face an ‘uphill battle’ to deport him.

There is a strong likelihood the Moroccan will be able to remain in the UK by claiming he has a right to family life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, immigration sources said.

When Bouzalim came to Britain in June 2001, he had no papers and claimed to be an Afghan national whose father had been executed by the Taliban, Isleworth Crown Court in west London was told.

Using the name Mohamed Amir Hussini, he successfully claimed asylum before constructing the extraordinary lie that he was paralysed and required 24-hour care, receiving £66,000 a year in benefits.

His total haul of around £400,000 was from Camden Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Independent Living Fund, the court heard.

The fraud ended when UK Border Agency staff raided his home in Kilburn, north London, last year.

In it, they found a video of Bouzalim performing energetic dance moves at his own wedding the previous year – miraculously without his wheelchair.

Bouzalim, who has been in custody for 18 months, has pleaded guilty to 11 charges of dishonesty. His brothers Rachid, 35, and Abdallah, 39, and sister Zahra, are all on bail having also admitted fraud charges.

Yesterday, the Moroccan appeared in court sitting in a wheelchair, wearing glasses, a red shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and black plimsolls. He had wild Afro-style hair and a straggly beard.

Accompanied by two nurses, he appeared to struggle to raise his arm and speak when asked if he was present by the court clerk. However Judge Simon Oliver cast doubt on defence claims he was unwell, referring to a psychiatric report from the medium-secure unit in Southall, west London, where he is being held.

see photo and read more

In the best interests of fairness to all, and just to see how handicapped he is, if he is.  There are inventive ways to find out.
I mean, aside from the photo at the link showing him dancing.

The politicians complying with outside dumb laws that are abused every day here, are political pygmies with no backbone.

An act of “Christian charity” This ought-ta teach ya some charity should begin at home

Well now ... this is sure a different sort of takeover.
Not squatters, not gypsies.

This one’s about a farm family and some Jehovah’s Witnesses, who a judge has decided can live forever on this property.
Problem is, the old guy being quoted as saying something the widow denies, is graveyard dead. So it’s pretty easy to quote him. How do we know?  Hows the judge know?
Is it logical for someone, even in a charitable way, to allow folks lifetime rent at a price below market, even if the place was ramshackle.  I might be wrong about below market. I guess that would depend on just how ramshackle the place was to begin with.
Interesting problem here.

Take a look.

Battle over farmhouse rented out as ‘an act of charity’

A couple who allowed Jehovah’s Witnesses to live in their farmhouse as an act of “Christian charity” are challenging a court ruling that granted them a lifetime tenancy at a peppercorn rent.

By Richard Alleyne

Iris and John Haselden, staunch Anglicans, said they believed they were performing an act of kindness, for which they would be rewarded in Heaven, when they let Richard Hardy and his wife Pauline, move into a tumbledown farmhouse they owned.
But they claim the arrangement which involved a peppercorn rent of £50-a-week was only temporary and that the Hardys would leave when they got back on their feet.

However 11 years later the tenants were still in the three-bedroom farm, set in 60 acres of land, and won a court order saying they could stay for the rest of their lives.
They also secured an order that the widow pay them £40,000 in damages for the improvement work they had carried out since 1997, plus £25,000 in legal costs.

Now Mrs Haselden, 82, now widowed, is challenging the decision at London’s Appeal Court and demanding they get their property back in two years.
Mrs Haselden’s barrister, Christopher McNall, said the tenancy slashed the value of the farm from £460,000 to just £100,000 in one fell swoop.

He said that the widow, and her daughter, were shocked when shortly before her husband died of a heart attack in 2008, the Hardys won a County Court ruling, granting them a lifetime tenancy of Brock Clough Farm, Rossendale, Lancs, and all 60 acres of the farmland surrounding it – all for a rent of £200-a-month.
He said it also had the effect of “excluding Mrs Haselden and her daughter, the owners, from the whole of Brock Clough Farm for an indeterminate period of time.”

For their part, however, Mr and Mrs Hardy insist that Mr Haselden promised them they could live at the farm “for the rest of their lives” at a £50-a-week rent.
No formal tenancy agreement was signed, but the judge at Preston County Court accepted the Hardys’ plea that an oral or implied agreement was made to that effect.  Mr McNall, told the court: “If there were any tenancy it should have been in writing. the Hardys were not entitled to hold the farm.

“The sum of £50 per week was calculated on the basis that the farmhouse was ramshackle and some work needed to be done to it.
“We have paid for the improvements to our own house, but we are stuck with the discounted rent.
“The order for damages is shot through with errors – it should not have been made at all let alone in the sum that was awarded,” he told the three ruling judges.
Elisabeth Tythcott, for the Hardys, who run a preschool nursery at the farm, described Mrs Haselden’s family as “farming people to whom land means everything”.
“The Hardys are not greedy people,” she said.
“They thought they had an agreement with John Haselden- they kept to their side of the deal. They asked for a written confirmation of that but he fobbed them off.

“From going in there and thinking they could live there forever, they now feel that agreement has been ignored. Their future is in jeopardy and their business has failed virtually,” she added.

Outside court, Mrs Haselden, who lives 12 miles away from the Hardys at New Barn Farm, Hapton, near Burnley, claimed her husband agreed to let the Hardys move onto the farm as a favour after other Jehovans who went to the same church “helped them out with a difficult calving.”
“It was virtually an act of charity,” the widow said.
The Appeal Court judges will give their decision on the case at a later date, yet to be set.

what if straights decided to have a pride in straight parade

It won’t happen of course, and if it ever did - the straights taking part in such a parade would be tagged as ‘homophobic.’

Are these somewhat queer folk so insecure and maybe even questioning of their own position (no puns) that they need parades and their own flag to prove their worth?  And not content with shouting (and showing) their predilection for all the world to hear, next year they are adding another day to the event.
Now it’s going to be a global day. Watch for a special holiday in the future where banks and POs are closed and stores announce large money saving sales to celebrate queerdom.

Lets not be too quick to blame them however.  It couldn’t be done minus the help in every form, financial - organizational etc. without huge support from the left.
None of the bs, pc, acceptance could thrive as it has, without the conservative majority (who are the honest liberals) just laying down and going with the program dictated by the left.

I don’t have a personal problem with their private lives.  I don’t care what they do behind closed doors and I don’t hate or fear them.
What I object to strongly are major corps. such as this one also laying down and appeasing a group who are such a minority of any given population. I don’t even believe the left, although strong enough to alter habits and attitudes, is anywhere near the majority they hold sway over.  And they do.

What a world.

Outrage as Tesco backs gay queer festival… but drops support for cancer charity event

Tesco’s contribution would be used to run an entertainment area for families and children at next year’s festival.

By SEAN POULTER

Tesco has triggered outrage by ending its support for the Cancer Research ‘Race for Life’ while deciding to sponsor Britain’s largest gay festival.

Some religious commentators and groups have condemned the decision and are calling for a boycott of the supermarket chain.

Tesco has worked with Cancer Research for more than ten years, raising hundreds of millions of pounds to help combat an illness that will affect one in three of the population.

The chain’s main contribution was support for the annual fundraising Race for Life, the UK’s largest women-only charity event, which has raised more than £400million for the fight against cancer since it began in 1994.

But shortly after Tesco announced the partnership would end, the firm said it would be a headline sponsor of Pride London.

This is Britain’s largest gay pride event, and will be adding a second day next year when it hosts the global WorldPride 2012 festival in July.

Tesco’s chief executive of retailing services, Andrew Higginson, said: ‘Our “Out at Tesco” team will be working closely with Pride London to ensure next year’s event is even more fun.’

Francis Phillips, a commentator at The Catholic Herald, condemned the shift, saying: ‘Tesco is a supermarket.

Its remit has been to sell good-quality food and other items at very reasonable prices, and in this it has been hugely successful.

Why has it now aligned itself with an aggressive political organisation such as Pride London?

‘Why has it given up its sponsorship of Cancer Research? Or at least…why hasn’t it taken up with another mainstream charity such as the British Legion or Age UK?

‘There are thousands of ex-servicemen and wounded soldiers needing help in this country, and millions of elderly people in danger of neglect.
‘They are a fundamental part of the fabric of our society – the kind of fabric that Tesco should be reflecting.’

David Skinner of the Anglican Mainstream organisation, which supports traditional marriage and family life, has written to complain to Mr Higginson and Tesco chief executive Philip Clarke.

He wrote: ‘For Tesco to sponsor a tiny homosexual minority – according to the Office for National Statistics, that amounts to little more than 1 per cent of the population – will be showing the utmost contempt for a large proportion of British society that still adheres, more or less, to the morality and values of the Ten Commandments.’

PS: America.  You have a Tesco branch in a manner of speaking.  It’s a convenience outlet new to the USA in the last few years.
It’s called Fresh & Easy, doesn’t have cashiers (the one in Palm Desert doesn’t anyway) and is all self serve.  Tesco is the parent company.

a bit of stoning and regular killing. the taliban. just regular folks.

After reading this article I wasn’t sure if the killings were as the headline implies, or just another personal killing. Pretty bad whatever but what registered most was this statement and just a reminder please, these are the kind of people some in govt. believe we can “negotiate” with. Sure. They’re just folks like us.
Uh huh.

‘Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law.
‘There are people who call it inhuman - but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country.’

Of course, not that those stone age grizzly bearded bastards don’t want to do that in the west. They wouldn’t be satisfied with simply bringing their thinking here, which they’ve managed in great measure to do already, they’re willing to do it at the point of a sword.  Or a suicide bomb.
Just regular folks.

Afghan mother and daughter stoned and shot dead after Taliban accused them of ‘moral deviation and adultery’

Last updated at 4:18 PM on 11th November 2011

Armed men stoned and shot dead a widow and her daughter in Aghanistan after the Taliban accused the women of ‘moral deviation and adultery’, according to reports.
The killing happened on Thursday in the Khawaja Hakim area of Ghazni city, the BBC reported, and two men have now been arrested.
Officials - who blamed the Taliban for the attack - told the Corporation that armed men went into the house where the two women lived, took them to the yard outside and they were stoned and then shot.
‘Neighbours did not help or inform the authorities on time,’ an official told the BBC.
A neighbour of the executed women told M&G.com he heard shots but was afraid to go out.
‘When the women in the neighbourhood washed the bodies of the killed women, they saw signs of stoning.

However, Ghazni provincial police chief Zilawar Zahid denied the reports that the women were stoned to death.
He told reporters: ‘They were killed inside their house.

An investigation is under way to find out why they were killed and Afghan police have arrested two men in connection with the case.’
Officials told the BBC that religious leaders had been issuing fatwas - edicts - asking for reports on anyone who was ‘involved in adultery’.
Earlier this year horrific video footage emerged of Taliban insurgents stoning a couple to death for alleged adultery in northern Afghanistan.
It took place in the district of Dashte Archi, in Kunduz, and was met with outrage in the West.

However, a Taliban spokesman defended the practice, saying: ‘Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law.
‘There are people who call it inhuman - but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country.’

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
