EYE CANDY and other subjects ….

Going to be a busy day today. Another visitor coming for afternoon tea, it’s an English thing.  The wife’s elderly Auntie Joan who is a dear and a somewhat risqué
87 year old.  She’s an artist and not a bad one either.  So we must make ready for the visit later on.

Meanwhile … while checking s few other things online I ran across one of our Favorites who I stole a photo from.  In the process of surfing by Steamboat MgGoo’s online abode, I discovered we have a couple of things in common.  One of which is an affinity for Asian women.  He thinks they are cute but I think they are way,way beyond merely ‘cute.’ I think they’re AWESOME, FANTASTIC, DYN-O-MITE !  In Japan when young I felt like a kid in a toy store at Christmas. Or else in heaven.
Of course, I kinda think that of women in general as well.  They are so darn nice to be around. And to stare at. Anyway … I really couldn’t resist this photo and so

You may wanna visit and say hello.

H/T Steamboat McGoo

image

Oh right .. I said a couple of things.  I think cats is another. I do love dogs if large. Have special affection for Alsatians and Malamutes.

image
are they beautiful er what?

But there is something about cats I never could resist, and I really like the looks of this one, which I also took from McGoo. I believe it’s his.  Look at that face.  What’s not ta love?

image

Wife just saw this and wants it .... we call em fur people ...

Thanks Steamboat ... you made my day. And oh btw. Yeah. I’d say you deserve a medal for restraint too.  lol.

Confusing Art News

Painting Stolen By Nazis finally returned to owner

A 12-year battle over the possession of a painting that was stolen from a Jewish Austrian by the Nazis came to a close today when the work by Austrian expressionist Egon Schiele was displayed at a Vienna museum.

The oil painting was returned over the weekend after the Leopold Museum agreed to pay $19 million (15 million euros) as part of the settlement to the estate of art dealer Lea Bondi Jaray, the original owner.

US authorities had refused to return the painting to the Leopold Museum after it was exhibited in 1998 at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) because of a claim by her descendants.

Bondi Jaray was forced to sell the painting, “Portrait of Wally,” at an unrealistically low price in the prelude to World War II as part of a widespread Nazi campaign that stripped Jews in Austria, Germany and later other European countries of their possessions.

So the painting was sold at a loss, under duress? That isn’t exactly stolen, is it? But maybe it’s close enough.

US customs refused to let the work leave the country after Henry Bondi of Princeton, New Jersey, filed a claim that said his late aunt was forced to give up the painting before fleeing Vienna in 1939 to escape to London when Germany annexed Austria.

She died in 1969. Henry Bondi also has since died.

The controversy over the portrait, which the Leopold Museum acquired after the war, contributed to Austria passing a 1998 law that stipulates the restitution of property taken from the country’s Jews by the Nazis.

Ok, I think I get it. Anything that the Nazis touched is evil. Granted. So this is akin to theft, and Blondi’s estate is entitled to the painting. Even if it’s pretty ugly:

image

Andreas Noedl, who sits on the Leopold museum’s board, acknowledged the gross injustice done to Austria’s Jews, telling reporters today that the portrait “reflects the history of the horrendous atrocities during the Holocaust.”

Leopold Museum chief Peter Weinhaeupl called the return a “symbolic day” for the museum.

It was created by the late Rudolf Leopold. He is credited with assembling Austria’s largest and most important private art collection that includes more than 5,000 works by renowned artists such as Schiele, Gustav Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka, along with the famous The Fallen Madonna With the Big Boobies by Von Klump.

Geert Wilders Speech In Berlin

Islam is the Communism of today

You know the name. Geert Wilders is a member of the Dutch Parliament who is on trial for saying that pisslam is a threat to the West. Well, duh. He’s the guy who made that Fitna video the year before last. Here are some excerpts from a speech he recently gave in Berlin. Another wake-up call, but is anyone listening? The whole text ishere, and it’s worth spending 10 minutes to read it. Wake up!!

Today I am here, however, to warn you for looming disunity. Germany’s national identity, its democracy and economic prosperity, is being threatened by the political ideology of Islam. In 1848, Karl Marx began his Communist Manifesto with the famous words: “A specter is haunting Europe — the specter of communism.” Today, another specter is haunting Europe. It is the specter of Islam. This danger, too, is political. Islam is not merely a religion, as many people seem to think: Islam is mainly a political ideology.

The American political scientist Mark Alexander writes that “One of our greatest mistakes is to think of Islam as just another one of the world’s great religions. We shouldn’t. Islam is politics or it is nothing at all, but, of course, it is politics with a spiritual dimension, … which will stop at nothing until the West is no more, until the West has … been well and truly Islamized.”

Ali Sina, an Iranian Islamic apostate who lives in Canada, points out that there is one golden rule that lies at the heart of every religion — that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. In Islam, this rule only applies to fellow believers, but not to Infidels. Ali Sina says “The reason I am against Islam is not because it is a religion, but because it is a political ideology of imperialism and domination in the guise of religion. Because Islam does not follow the Golden Rule, it attracts violent people.”

In 1954, in his essay Communism and Islam, Professor Bernard Lewis spoke of “the totalitarianism, of the Islamic political tradition.” Professor Lewis said that “The traditional Islamic division of the world into the House of Islam and the House of War, … has obvious parallels in the Communist view of world affairs. … The aggressive fanaticism of the believer is the same.”

The American political scientist Mark Alexander states that the nature of Islam differs very little — and only in detail rather than style — from despicable and totalitarian political ideologies such as National-Socialism and Communism.

There is one more striking parallel, but this is not a characteristic of the three political ideologies, but one of the West. It is the apparent inability of the West to see the danger. The prerequisite to understanding political danger, is a willingness to see the truth, even if it is unpleasant. Unfortunately, modern Western politicians seem to have lost this capacity. Our inability leads us to reject the logical and historical conclusions to be drawn from the facts, though we could, and should know better. What is wrong with modern Western man that we make the same mistake over and over again?

There is no better place to ponder this question than here in Berlin, the former capital of the evil empire of Nazi Germany and a city which was held captive by the so-called German “Democratic” Republic for over forty years.

One of the things we are no longer allowed to say is that our culture is superior to certain other cultures ... That is the message of the Left and the politically-correct ruling establishment. They want us to feel so ashamed about our own identity that we refuse to fight for it. ... Because of this failure, the same leftist people who turned a blind eye to Communism then, turn a blind eye to Islam today. They are using exactly the same arguments in favor of détente, improved relations, and appeasement as before.

Surfing the ‘net

I guess that the software we use to ‘browse’ the internet are called ‘browsers’ for a reason:

image

So, I was ‘browsing’ and came upon not one, but two of my childhood favorite comedians. One was Flip Wilson, who doesn’t have an official site or decent fan page. I may work on that.

The other is Bill Cosby. He has his own official site. But I found a bunch of his quotes. Here’s some of my favorites:

“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”

“Women don’t want to hear what you think. Women want to hear what they think - in a deeper voice.”

“Let us now set forth one of the fundamental truths about marriage: the wife is in charge.”

“I guess the real reason that my wife and I had children is the same reason that Napoleon had for invading Russia: it seemed like a good idea at the time.”

“Human beings are the only creatures that allow their children to come back home.”

“I am proud to be an American. Because an American can eat anything on the face of this earth as long as he has two pieces of bread.”

(I have to interrupt here. Is there any reason that Barack Hussein Obama is ‘proud to be an American?’)

“The essence of childhood, of course, is play, which my friends and I did endlessly on streets that we reluctantly shared with traffic.”

“gray hair is God’s graffiti”

“And of course, when you see your brother in the toilet bowl...there’s a little voice that says, ‘I wonder where he would go...’...if it hadn’t been for his head...”

So many more, so little attention deficit syndrome.

Israeli motorist runs down a Palestinian boy in East Jerusalem. Not really he didn’t.

This almost reads as though the driver went looking for muzzie sub-humans to run down.

So then, you’re driving someplace and confronted by masked and stone throwing gangster thugs. What should you do?  What Should you do?

Stop and ask directions?

Stop and hold hands and use reason?

Stop and convert to islam?

Stop and ask them why they are throwing stones?

Stop and offer your help throwing stones at yourself?

Jeesh ....  Frankly I’m sorry the future suicide bomber punk got lucky and only had scrapes.  Crippled would have been better. Oh well. Maybe next time and you know there will be a next time.

There’s a load of photos at the link.

Pictured: The moment an Israeli motorist runs down a Palestinian boy in East Jerusalem

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 5:19 PM on 8th October 2010

Dramatic images have emerged of the moment an Israeli motorist drove straight into a young Palestinian boy in East Jerusalem today.

The child had been part of a group throwing stones at Israeli cars following news the country’s military had killed two Hamas militants in the West Bank city of Hebron earlier on Friday.

Amazingly the boy only sustained ‘light injuries’ after being thrown into the air by the vehicle and twisting over its roof.

The majority of the boys, with their t-shirts wrapped round their heads to disguise their identity, were lined up on either side of the road near a zebra crossing ready to attack the vehicle.

Two members of the group were positioned in the centre of the road - leading to the collision, with the motorist apparently driving straight into one of the boys.

more photos here

Look at the linked photos. Didn’t look much like the motorist had anywhere to go anyway. Besides, the little asswipe and his friend were standing right in it’s path.  Probably thought the driver would stop. Well, SURPRISE!  Gotcha, ya little bastard.

another truly outstanding find from ancient rome ….

Some may accuse me of using the word ‘awesome’ too often.  Fine, but what other word or words would fit here.
Another find from ancient Rome here in Britain.  Only the third of it’s kind since records were starting to be kept 250 years ago. A young person and a metal detector and a 2 million dollar find.  Look at the art work on this and just think ... it was done by the Romans, or whoever was working for them. Look at the detail.
Bothers me that someone like a tracy emmin can display an unmade bed and the art world goes ga ga. Flippin idiots.

Roman bronze helmet found in a field sells for £2.3 MILLION… eight times its estimated value

By Tamara Cohen

A rare Roman bronze helmet found in a field by a metal detecting enthusiast, sold for an astonishing £2.3 million at auction today.

The immaculately preserved 2,000-year-old artifact, one of only three ever found in Britain, was discovered in a field by an unemployed graduate in his early 20s.

It prompted a five-minute frenzy of bidding at Christie’s in London before it was bought anonymously on the telephone for eight times its pre-sale estimate.

The helmet, complete with an ornate face mask surrounded by a ring of tightly curled hair, was not intended to be worn in combat but for cavalry sports parades which often accompanied religious festivals.

Wearing full armour and colourful streamers, Roman soldiers would take part in organised games to impress visiting officials.

Christie’s described the find, from the late 1st century AD, as ‘an extraordinary example of Roman metalwork at its zenith’.

Only a handful of helmets of such quality have been found anywhere across the former Roman empire, and potential buyers from all over the world registered interest.

some gastly humor?

Well I’m glad these photos weren’t on the front page of our morning papers today.

I don’t think I have to ID the one on the left.  The perfect wide mouthed photo horror on the right is a former civil rights litigator and also the wife of a former Brit.Prime Minister.  Tony Blair.  My gosh, can you imagine anyone wanting to kiss that mouth?  I’d guess Mr. Blair stuck it out cos she’s been a very successful legal attack dog. Hey, I really don’t know. But what I do know is that I can not resist posting photos of this wide mouthed movie horror.

Hmmm. A bad thought. That’s pretty damn shallow of me.  Oh well.  I calls em as I sees em.  Apparently some Brits see the same thing I do.

it’s a well known fact they didn’t get on.
Hillary in particular didn’t like the swamp donkey.

The pair launched a new initiative which aims to bring mobiles to 150million women within three years.

Mobile phones are an indispensable personal, economic and development tool,’ said Mrs Blair.
‘Helping more women access mobile technology means they can feel safer, improve their literacy, access vital health information and generate a better income.’
What!!! And who is going to pay for this “worthy” venture? Are they being sponsored by Orange or 02? Who will pay the phone bills? Pair of idiots if you ask me.

Just Terrible

Worst. Pirate. Ship. Ever.

Ok, it’s a really great cutlass. Really. I’ve lived all my life without owning a cutlass, but I’ve always felt the desire to.

But that pirate ship? Oh come on. Who designed that thing, a 5 year old boy with a crayon, after eating 5 bowls of Cap’n Crunch? Pathetic. Crunch’s Guppy is a more realistic looking ship. It’s not like you can’t find actual ships like this for rent if you’re making a big bucks commercial. Or even create a good one through CGI. The only time a ship like that would be rigged that way is if it was shot to bits in battle or ravaged by a hurricane. But the spars and stays would be a total mess in either case, and these aren’t.

Yeah, I know. I’m the only guy on the planet who even noticed that there was a ship or a cutlass in the video. And that’s because, hot as she is, I got tired of looking at Marisa Miller before she was a famous clothing model, back when she was just another naked babe on the internet. Because clothes are actually quite new to her; it seems she’s spent most of the last decade naked. And getting paid for it. Gee, tough life, eh?
