Could Be A Problem

The Piet Indoor Stove

Designed by Fredrik Hyltén-Cavallius

image

Piet is a chimney-free indoor stove by Fredrik Hyltén-Cavallius that burns ethanol instead of wood. With a brass reflector, this stove gives off no smoke or soot and can be placed wherever convenient. There is a layer of rock wool fire insulation between the reflector and the outer ceramic shell, so Piet can be placed near walls or furniture. The stove takes its name from Danish architect and mathematician Piet Hein who made the super ellipse popular in the sixties.

In several ways, I think this is pretty cool. It’s both high tech and low tech at the same time. It’s very unusual looking. It gives off heat. It’s super modern looking. But the problem with some super modern designs is that you can’t always tell just what they really are. Take the Piet stove here as an example. You’ve got this white ceramic egg shaped shell up on legs. The shell is about 2 feet tall, and the whole affair stands a bit less than chest high. Ok, you stick one in the corner of your den, and everybody Ooohs and Aaahs at it, and you get a bit of light and heat. But what kind of trouble do you think you’d have, if you put one of these waist high white ceramic things in a corner of a bathroom, especially one that was also illuminated with other oil lamps? It might not matter whether it was lit or not!

image

Would you then realize that this was a piss-poor design? Or a poor-piss one? LOL

BATTLE SCARRED AND PROUD …. JUST ONE BRIT SOLDIER. ONE OF VERY MANY.

This was in the morning paper and I’m glad in a way that I could find it on line and share it with my American countrymen and women.

Americans see quite a number of our own I’m sure.  I very much doubt we see and hear anything at all about this brave young people who are bleeding alongside us.
We MUST NOT ignore or forget them.  Sure, we have problems of our own and there are an awful lot of unhappy, grieving American families as well.
I hate the idea of so many young lives lost forever in all the countries losing their young who are fighting the malignancy that is militant islam.
But from time to time, especially since I’m living here among them, I have a need to share these folks I call Battling Brits.  Americans need to see them so we understand and appreciate that although their numbers are smaller then ours, their blood runs just as free.

Why this picture fills me with awe, pride… and fury

Fusilier Tom James, who was injured by the same blast that killed Fusilier Shaun Bush, arrives at his funeral.

image

Just the sight of yesterday’s Daily Mail lying on my doormat was enough to start the tears.

There was the picture of Fusilier Tom James so terribly injured, his right arm lost in a savage Taliban bomb blast.

He had struggled from his hospital bed, donning uniform to attend the funeral of the comrade who was fatally wounded beside him. No pain, nor fear, would stop him honouring his mate.

The night before, like many, I had watched the almost-unbearably moving BBC documentary, Wounded, which told the stories of 19-year-old Andy Allen and 24-year-old Tom Neathway, also horrifically injured in Afghanistan.

No one who witnessed the agony of these once superbly-fit young men learning how to walk on ‘stubbies’ (short artificial limbs) could ever forget the sight.

When Andy was first allowed the longed-for visit home to Belfast, we saw one or two people in his enthusiastic welcoming committee look away in sudden, emotional horror at the first glimpse of the young man who had lost both legs and had feared he would never regain his sight.

It struck me as a powerful metaphor that he should so long to see, whereas so many of us have turned away from the unbearable reality of war.

That is why yesterday’s Mail front page was so important, and why Wounded was compulsory viewing.

It may well be that the Ministry of Defence might prefer the British public not to be made so acutely aware of the horrors of the war in Afghanistan.

We’ve all read the statistics - the numbers of those who have given their lives in the brutal conflict in a pitiless faraway land. Yet none of us really knows the numbers of wounded, or the extent of their injuries. It’s been kept hidden.

READ MORE HERE

Sometimes I do wonder if the media and even our blog sites, are correct in recognizing so publicly the heroes as we do. Does it play into the hands of the enemy?  Are they happy to see photos such as this?  Are we giving aid and comfort, or at least comfort anyway, by telling their stories and showing the pix?  On one hand I want to say thank you and I appreciate your bravery. I can’t do what you have done. And then I wonder if the enemy is also watching and surfing and enjoying the pain.

‘Manson family’ killer dies in prison after her 18 bids for parole were denied.

This may not be news for all at BMEWS in the USA. But it’s PURE pleasure for me to be able to post this.
GOOD!  I’m only sorry she couldn’t have wasted away in jail for more time and to be miserable but dead is very good too.

I hope with all my heart it was very slow and very painful but I doubt the do good doctors would allow that. Pity.
I’d have sliced her open exactly as she did to Sharon Tate and give the ugly bitch a taste of what she helped to cause.

I wish I could bring Judge Rose Bird back to life just so that I could set her alight. Then put out the fire and start all over again.
For those who don’t know what who I’m talking about; Rose Bird, a liberal lawyer who had never been a judge, became one of the most controversial figures in California politics. She led a liberal majority and was recalled over her opposition to the death penalty.
Yeah. And she died of breast cancer. LOL. ROTFLMAO

I celebrated (manner of speaking) when one of the defense lawyers was found dead on a mountainside. My only regret was that I wasn’t responsible.

I was working at KFI Radio in LA, on the night shift when the Manson killings first started being called in.  I recall a few of the gory and sickening details
this group of vile sub human filthy bastards were responsible for.  She apologized?  Who the fuck cares?  She should have been used for medical experiments along with the rest of that bunch.  And btw, I would include that deluded young woman who decided she was in love with one of those killers and married him in prison, and gave him children.

Hey America. How’s that for freeken justice huh?  Ole macho man Tex and this Atkins scum cut open Sharon Tate to see her baby. Oh what fun.
So Tate loses life and baby BUT .... the killer gets to father children.  OH ISN’T THAT JUST GREAT!  Anyone call that justice has to be nuts!

She tried 18 times to gain freedom?  How many times did her victims beg for their lives?
I didn’t need to read Helter,Skelter people.  I was hearing about this crime before most of the public did.

Feeling any sort of compassion for the killer is treason to the victim!

Susan Atkins: ‘Manson family’ killer dies in prison after her 18 bids for parole were denied

Sharon Tate’s murderer Susan Atkins has died in prison, suffering from brain cancer.
The 61-year-old is the first of the Charles Manson clan, who were responsible for the 1969 murder of the pregnant Hollywood actress, to die.

Her death comes less than a month after an American parole board refused to free her from jail on compassionate ground despite her terminal illness. It was her last chance of freedom and she was brought to the hearing on a trolley and slept through most of it.

California Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton said that Atkins died late Thursday night.
She had been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008 had a leg amputated and underwent brain surgery.
Tate, the 26-year-old actress who appeared in the movie ‘Valley of the Dolls’ and was the wife of famed director Roman Polanski, was one of seven murdered in two Los Angeles homes during the Manson cult’s bloody rampage in August 1969.
Manson and three others involved in the murders - Patricia Krenwinkel, Leslie Van Houten and Charles “Tex” Watson - remain imprisoned under life sentences.

Atkins, who confessed from the witness stand during her trial, had apologised for her acts numerous times over the years.
But 40 years after the murders, she learned that few had forgiven what she and other members of the cult had done.
Debra Tate, the slain actress’s younger sister, told the parole commissioners Sept. 2 that she ‘will pray for (Atkins’) soul when she draws her last breath, but until then I think she should remain in this controlled situation’.
She also noted that she would have a 40-year-old nephew if her sister had lived.
Atkins and her co-defendants were originally sentenced to death but their sentences were reduced to life in prison when capital punishment was briefly outlawed by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1970s.

We Needed Obama To Show Us The Light

Clean the House in 2010, Right the Wrong in 2012.

American Idol needs to be canceled. The narcisstic binge we have been on has cost this country greatly. Future generations will be burdened probably more than we can imagine. Bring on the Revenge of the Nerds. Forget charisma, looks, teleprompters, trappings. We need a leader who knows deep inside himself what needs to be said, and is not afraid to say it.

Is there one Grown-up left who can serve this country? It’s time to step up to the plate.

Get out your torches and pitchforks people. Paul Revere must ride again.

President Obama is an offspring of the 1960’s radical movement.  He has spent most of his life surrounded and tutored by members of this group.  He is the culmination of the ideal stealth candidate able by his gift of rhetoric, race and good timing to ascend to the office of President.  The left found, as Joe Biden put it “a clean and articulate” nominee with surface charm and charisma able to fool enough citizens into voting for him.

the Administration has blithely declared a tripling of the national debt over the next 10 years as if it were immaterial.  President Obama has championed “health care reform” and a “carbon tax” in an attempt to control the day-to-day lives of the American people.  There are now 32 advisors (czars), to the President, most being left-wing ideologues, with the power to implement his agenda, none of whom have been approved by the Senate.

To date the damage done has been considerable, but it is not irreversible.  In essence Barack Obama and the Congress won their offices too early in the history of our nation to achieve all their objectives; by doing so and overreaching this left wing government has given the country an opportunity to awaken from its 50 year slumber and repair the foundation.  Only a radical Presidency and Congress could have achieved this before it was too late.  The only questions that remain: will the aroused and more knowledgeable populace continue to be aware and elect those that will make the changes necessary and will we as a nation take advantage of this potential reprieve?

Steve McCann over at American Thinker, in his essay Obama and the last hurrah of Liberalism, argues that it may not be too late to save America. That perhaps we got the government we deserved the government we needed - needed to WAKE US UP from our generations long apathetic slumber. Go read the rest, and read the comments too. The first few dozen are very well written.

We have a very big job to do here. Throw all the bums out, from the top down. And damn near all of them are bums. If the GOP can’t or won’t Cowboy Up, then screw them. They haven’t shown a bit of spine in at least half a decade, so maybe they aren’t worth bothering trying to fix anyway. But the bottom line is that We The People have to get involved. Turn off the crap on TV, and pay attention. Write those letters, make those phone calls, send those emails. Learn about the issues, don’t just take ABC News’ word for them. Focus on what is important. Our government has been stolen. By our government. It is long past time to fight back.

We needed Obama to show us the light - he is the perfect example of the wrong thing, the wrong view, the wrong way, the wrong idea. It’s a bad light. So let’s build a new lightbulb and figure out how to install it.

No Kidding

Iran Has Secret Second Uranium Enrichment Facility

What, you mean they LIED to us? Golly gee, I’m so upset. Never in my life did I think those pillars of peace and honor would be dishonest, especially about their nuclear program.

Iran has revealed the existence of a secret uranium-enrichment plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Friday, a development that could heighten fears about Tehran’s ability to produce a nuclear weapon and escalate its diplomatic confrontation with the West.

President Barack Obama and the leaders of France and Britain plan to accuse Iran of hiding the facility in an address at the opening of the G-20 economic summit Friday, a senior White House official told the AP.

The official said Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will demand Tehran open the covert facility to inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran is under three sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions for refusing to freeze enrichment at what had been its single known enrichment plant, which is being monitored by the IAEA.

Two officials told the AP that Iran revealed the existence of the second plant in a letter sent Monday to International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei.

IAEA spokesman Marc Vidricaire confirmed receipt of the letter, saying the agency was informed “that a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction.” The letter said that the plant would not enrich uranium beyond the 5 percent level suitable for civilian energy production. That would be substantially below the threshold of 90 percent or more needed for a weapon.

Iran told the agency “that no nuclear material has been introduced into the facility,” he said. “In response, the IAEA has requested Iran to provide specific information and access to the facility as soon as possible.”

The officials said that Iran’s letter contained no details about the location of the second facility, when — or if — it had started operations or the type and number of centrifuges it was running.

But one of the officials, who had access to a review of Western intelligence on the issue, said it was about 100 miles (160 kilometers) southwest of Tehran and was the site of 3,000 centrifuges that could be operational by next year.

Iranian officials had previously acknowledged having only one plant — which is under IAEA monitoring — and had denied allegations of undeclared nuclear activities.

An August IAEA report said Iran had set up more than 8,000 centrifuges to churn out enriched uranium at its cavernous underground facility outside the southern city of Natanz. The report said that only about 4,600 centrifuges were fully active.

The existence of a secret Iranian enrichment program built on black-market technology was revealed seven years ago. Since then, the country has continued to expand the program with only a few interruptions as it works toward its aspirations of a 50,000-centrifuge enrichment facility at Natanz.

Buried Treasure

English Man Finds Massive Pre-Viking Treasure In Farm Field, Worth Millions

Largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure found in UK

A massive hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver found by a metal detector enthusiast is worth a “seven-figure sum”, an expert said today.

The haul of at least 1,345 items was officially declared to be treasure by a coroner this morning and will now be valued by a committee of experts.

Dr Roger Bland, head of portable antiquities and treasure at the British Museum, said: “I can’t say anything other than we expect it to be a seven-figure sum.”

The cache - the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold yet found - was hailed today as “a fantastically important discovery”.

The haul was found by metal detectorist Terry Herbert, 55, just below the surface of a cultivated field in south Staffordshire in July.

South Staffordshire coroner Andrew Haigh said: “This is a magnificent find, both in terms of its content and its likely history.”

Dr Bland told the inquest in Cannock the significance of the find was “only beginning to dawn” on the small number of experts who have examined it.

He said: “It is at least as significant as any of the major discoveries of this period that have been made in the past.”

An Anglo Saxon cross, solid gold, one of the many priceless antiquities found

“It is assumed that the items were buried by their owners at a time of danger with the intention of later coming back and recovering them.”

Archaeologist Dr Kevin Leahy said none of the experts involved in the discovery had seen anything like it before.

He told a press conference at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery: “These are the best craftsmen the Anglo Saxons have got, working with the best materials, and producing incredible results.”

Ian Wykes, head of Staffordshire County Council’s historic environment team, said some of the objects - many of them related to warfare - were found lying on top of the soil.

Archaeologists were “fairly confident” there was no more treasure buried at the site, he added.

Dr Bland said the hoard - thought to date back to between 675 and 725AD - was unearthed in what was once the Kingdom of Mercia. [the English Midlands region]

“I think wealth of this kind must have belonged to a king but we cannot say that for absolute certain,” the expert said.

A total of 1,345 items have been examined by experts, although the list includes 56 clods of earth which have been X-rayed and are known to contain further metal artefacts, meaning the total number of items is likely to rise to around 1,500.

Experts have so far established that there are at least 650 items of gold in the haul, weighing more than 5kg (11lb), and 530 silver objects totalling more than 1kg (2.2lb) in weight.

“That in itself is an enormous quantity of precious metal,” Dr Bland said.

“It’s bigger than any other hoard of precious metal from the Anglo-Saxon period by quite a large margin.”

Dr Bland said the Staffordshire hoard was quite different from the Sutton Hoo burial site, which was uncovered in Suffolk in 1939.

Leslie Webster, former keeper at the British Museum’s Department of Prehistory and Europe, said: “This is going to alter our perceptions of Anglo-Saxon England as radically, if not more so, as the Sutton Hoo discoveries.

“(It is) absolutely the equivalent of finding a new Lindisfarne Gospels or Book of Kells.”

Mr Herbert, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, has described unearthing the haul as “more fun than winning the lottery”.

“My mates at the (metal detecting) club always say that if there is a gold coin in a field, I will be the one to find it. I dread to think what they’ll say when they hear about this,” he said.

Herbert, from the town of Burntwood, found the gold on a friend’s farm on July 5 and spent the next five days scouring the field for the rest of the hoard.

Herbert recovered the first items before professional archaeologists took over the excavation.

“Imagine you’re at home and somebody keeps putting money through your letterbox, that was what it was like,” Herbert said. “I was going to bed and in my sleep I was seeing gold items.”

Well there ya go. I’m sure Mr. Herbert is just as happy as can be. Good for him.

Anglo-Saxons were the people who took over Britain after the Romans left. [Angles were from northwest Germany, Saxons from the land just south of Denmark, and Jutes from Jutland, which is southern Denmark, just north of the Saxon lands. These folks also may have invented the Holstein cow, which is also from that area. Go back a few hundred years more, and I think they’d all be called Frisians.] Heck, they took over so well that they gave the place it’s name - “Angle Land”; England. And they’re also the people who put the “AS” in “WASP”: White Anglo Saxon Protestant. Ooooh, my ancestors!  Eventually they mostly lost out to the Normans (proto-froggies) in that little upheaval in 1066, but for a good 600 years they held sway, Vikings be damned. I don’t think they’ve got very good press before this, always being seen as some type of dirty semi-barbarians. Compared to the Celts, Picts, Norse, Franks, Goths, Visigoths, and all the other dirty barbarians of that time. But now they have been shown to have excellent metal working skills, and lots of gold and silver, so they’ll probably take a big step forward in the Dark Ages class system. All thanks to one old guy and his 14 year old metal detector.

UPDATE … To a story that recently appeared here and I’ll bet nobody is surprised.

GIRL TIED TO FENCE AND BEATEN THEN SAVED BY SCHOOL EMPLOYEE, WHO GETS THE SACK.

BMEWS will recall that story from the other day.  Briefly to recap for those who don’t know.

Four school boys grabbed a young girl, tied her to a fence and beat her with a skip rope. Another kid saw what was happening and ran into the school and got an employee who ran out and got the girl free and also managed to get a couple of the little bastards.
The school reported to the girls parents that that their kid was hurt in a skip rope accident. Clearly a freeken lie by ppl who would normally instruct kids to be truthful.  Or they should and they might if they weren’t the same sort of shits as the boys who abused that little girl.
Well, the lady who saved the kid informed the parents of the truth, and got herself fired for her trouble.
And that brings us to this UPDATE on that story.

( A dinner lady is the person who dishes out the lunches in school cafeteria)

Bully exposed by sacked school employee revealed to be son of school governor

By Sarah Harris
Last updated at 12:30 PM on 24th September 2009

One of the bullies at the centre of a row over a sacked dinner lady is the son of a school governor.

Carol Hill, 60, was sacked for telling the parents of seven-year-old Chloe David that their daughter had been tied up and whipped in the school playground.

The school had informed Scott and Claire David she had simply been ‘hurt’ in an incident with a skipping rope.

Mrs Hill was suspended after the incident in June and yesterday it emerged that she had been fired by a disciplinary tribunal for breaching pupil confidentiality at Great Tey Primary School, near Colchester, Essex.

Angry parents are demanding the resignation of headteacher and governors at the school and some are threatening to remove their children if Mrs Hill is not reinstated.

Parents have questioned whether Mrs Hill’s sacking was influenced by the fact that a governor, who did not take part in disciplinary hearings, is mother of one of the four boys accused of tying Chloe’s wrists and ankles with the skipping rope.

Sarah Harris, 36, who has two children at the school, said the treatment of the dinner lady was unfair.

‘Maybe this would have been dealt with differently had a governor’s child not been involved,’ she told The Times.

‘You put your trust in these people not only to teach your children but to keep them safe and look after their pastoral care.

‘I am worried and very concerned as to what else may have been covered up.’

SOURCE

Sure does tell us a lot about our wonderful new world.  And of course we are all surprised by this. Instead of a damn good whipping the little SOB’s mommy covers up and costs someone their job. No sweat, no conscience, and no wonder her little angel is a snot faced bastard along with his friends.  And if she didn’t personally cover it up, then the school admin did. None of them should ever again be allowed to work in that sort of position.  But what are the chances of that happening?

Planners ban family from their own barn conversion… but rule holidaymakers CAN live there.

I really, really was planning to close for the night, and darned if just before shutting down I thought to check something and found this.

I’m not certain but I think I almost understand the planning people EXCEPT I don’t understand why they’d allow strangers to live there on holiday.

Bottom line tho is I think they’ve been heavy handed.  But maybe the new owners should have crossed all ‘Tees’ and dotted their ‘iz’ before going ahead.

Doesn’t seem right however, to let them spend it all only to have it used for holiday ppl.

See the link and the photograph.  Personally, from what I could see it really does seem to blot the landscape. But then I’m prejudiced with regard to views. Reason being thus.
There’s a new VERY expensive house being built next door.  They have just had about every single tree on the property cut down. Where before we had a tiny bit of shade and a little privacy, now there is none.  There used to be a tree that gave a plum tasting fruit the size of a large cherry. GONE. And a beautiful cherry blossom tree. GONE.  I never realized before today just how really large that plot of land is. It gets wider at the back then it is at the front.  All that nice greenery. Kaput. Oh yeah. And three apple trees. GONE.  And they aren’t quite finished cutting yet.
I wonder if they had permission from the city council to cut all those trees.  They also took out a beautiful Mountain Ash.  Miss that one most of all.

A family has been banned from living in their £300,000 dream home - but officials have ruled it can be rented out to holidaymakers instead.

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 12:48 PM on 24th September 2009

Jonathan and Emma Jones spent £100,000 converting an old barn for their perfect countryside home for their family.

But after structural problems meant it had to be rebuilt, planners said it counted as a new build and they had to reapply for planning permission.

The couple were then left homeless after permission was refused and they were told it could be used as a holiday let to encourage tourism in the picturesque Welsh village of Rhos, near Neath.

Mr Jones, 33, said: ‘I find it unbelievable that we can let the house to strangers but can’t live in it ourselves.

‘We are faced with the ludicrous situation of handing the keys to holidaymakers to stay in the dream home we have built for ourselves.’

The couple sold their former home to finance the demolition of the barn and building of the house.

Stone and other materials from the old barn were used to build a new four-bedroom house to look exactly the same.

But a report by Neath Port Talbot Council said the conversion ‘would be to the detriment of visual amenity and character of this rural area as a whole’.

Mr Jones said: ‘It’s absolutely crazy - the property looks identical whether it is used as holiday accommodation or as a dwelling.

‘The council basically had to choose who they would rather see stay in the house.

‘Would it be a young family born and bred in the area who work locally or strangers from outside the area?’

He added: ‘There are no problems with looks of the new house, it was approved as blending in with the countryside.

‘The decision not to allow us to live in it is unbelievable. To cut our losses we went ahead with the change of use which left us stranded and now we don’t have a home.’

The couple and their daughter Ffion, two, are now living with Mr Jones’ parents at their farmhouse, just yards away from the home they built.

Mr Jones has now lodged an appeal with the Welsh Assembly.

He said: ‘We look out on it when we get up every morning knowing that we can’t live there. It has led to a lot of stress for myself and my family.’

A spokesman for Neath Port Talbot Council said: ‘While Mr Jones was working on the original building at some point - for whatever reason - he demolished part of the existing barn and built a replica of it.

‘At that point we could not consider any new application as a conversion because this was now treated as a new property.’

Head of planning at the council, Geoff White, added: ‘The planning application was not for a barn conversion but was for the retention and completion of a new dwelling.

‘The site is in the open countryside where there are strict policies controlling development.

‘Approval was granted for the retention and completion of the building as holiday accommodation. That proposal has policy support in helping to diversify the rural economy and supporting the tourist industry.’

LOYAL AMERICAN CHILDREN SING PRAISE TO DEAR LEADER OBAMA … some very bad stuff BMEWS!

I got this piece of sick stomach churning crap from James Delingpole who of course got it from another person. Love the way the blog world works, HATE the way indoctranation is taking place in my country. Do I still have one btw?
I LOVED President Reagan, I voted for him in Calif. as gov. and I voted for him as president and I’m sorry he couldn’t serve in office longer coz I’d have kept voting for him. BUT ... I would have been much embarrassed and unhappy if school kids were taught songs in his praise. No way.  That smacks of something else altogether and this really bothers me.  You guy may already know but for those who don’t, well, misery just loves company. Doesn’t it?
So here. You can be miserable with me.

H/T JAMES DENLINGPOLE

This is what Delingpole had to say on the subject.

Next time my daughter comes home from school saying she has been studying Mary Seacole (again) for Black History Week, or compulsorily watching a video called An Inconvenient Truth or one her teachers has suggested she “Go Veggie” for a day, I shall play this video and be grateful for one small mercy:

No British primary school teacher, however rabidly left-wing and deranged (if that’s not a tautology?), is ever going to be coaching their class in a hymn of praise to Gordon Brown.

September 24th, 2009 Here’s some footage to gladden the heart: children at an elementary school in New Jersey being coached by their teacher to sing a song in praise of their Dear Leader. (Hat Tip: Steve Foley)

Once upon a time I worked with song writers and musicians in Nashville. Whoever put this together hasn’t got “IT.” That writing spark. Glad they don’t or this could be worse. They might buy their way onto Billboard.

Barack Hussein Obama
He said that all must lend a hand [?]
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!

Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be clear today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!

Barack Hussein Obama
He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!

Barack Hussein Obama
He said Red, Yellow, Black or White
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!

THIS IS AS VAPID AND TALENTLESS AND TOTALLY STUPID AS WE SHALL OVERCOME. THAT OTHER TUNLESS DIRGE FROM THE LEFT.
I couldn’t even listen or watch the whole thing.  While you’re viewing this I’m off to find an Alka Seltzer.

News Roundup

Bits from all around today ...

Qaddafi has 2 hour long crazy rant at UN ... what did you expect? But he loves Obama, and wants “our fellow African” to be President forever. Gee, swell. Just in case you forgot he was nust.

In his first U.N. appearance, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi issued a slashing attack on the Security Council and chastised the world body on Wednesday for failing to intervene or prevent some 65 wars since the U.N. was founded in 1945.

Gadhafi called for reform of the council — abolishing the veto power of the five permanent members — or expanding the body with additional member states to make it more representative.

“It should not be called the Security Council, it should be called the “terror council,” he said.

The veto-wielding Security Council powers—the United States, Britain, China, France and Russia—treat smaller countries as “second class, despised” nations, Gadhafi said.

Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, declaring that “we’d be content and happy if Obama can stay president forever,” launched into a rambling assault against the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday, at one point complaining to world leaders gathered to hear him speak that he was tired and jet lagged.

Sometimes speaking in phrases mocking New York City’s security efforts during the 64th gathering of the U.N. General Assembly, Qaddafi swung between calling the Security Council a “Terror Council,” to demanding that European nations pay $7.7 trillion in compensation and apologize for colonizing Africa, at one point adding, “African nations have the right to go anyplace to get the $7.7 trillion stolen from it.”

Qaddafi spoke after President Barack Obama’s first speech to the General Assembly.

Referencing Obama as “my son,” Qaddafi said: “We are happy that a young African Kenyan was voted for and made president. Obama is a glimpse in the dark for the next four years, but I’m afraid we may go back to square one.

“Can the U.S. guarantee after Obama that they’ll be a government? We’re happy and content if he can stay forever.”

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi on Wednesday accused “one country” of controlling the U.N. Security Council, “therefore forming a danger to world peace.”

Yup, that would be us. The USA. The real world terrorists!

Waving his hands and often turning to look at United Nation’s Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the new General Assembly President H.E. Dr. Ali Abdussalam Treki — who also serves as Libya’s minister of African affairs — Qaddafi defiantly declared, “Nobody cares about the Security Council.”

He added, “this place was founded by terrorists.”

As he fumbled through hand-written notes, he mixed his attacks with rambling references to: the Kennedy and King assassinations; the U.S. Civil War; the Korean War; the Suez War; Saddam Hussein’s hanging; former dictator Manuel Noriega; jet lag; and, a defense of the Taliban and Somali pirates.

Old Moamar promised to send us “rolling thunder”, suggested that the UN be moved to another country on his side of the world, complained of jet lag, and called for abolishment of the UN Security Council. Oh, and us bad white folks created Swine Flu, as a weapon to keep the Arab Brothas down you know -

“Perhaps this swine virus may be one of those viruses that was created in the laboratory and it got out of control because it was meant to be a military weapon.”

Geez, what a maroon.

Mexicans are willing to fight to enter the US illegally. Gunfight at the border as 3 vans full of beaners try to run the crossing point.

The busiest border crossing in the country was open again Wednesday morning after closing for hours during a shootout between federal agents and vans suspected of smuggling illegal immigrants into California from Mexico.

Four were injured and traffic was stopped for four hours Tuesday near San Diego after the border patrol agents fired shots at the vehicles across nine lanes of highway.

The 74 people crowded into the three vans were taken into federal custody.

San Diego police spokesman Lt. Kevin Rooney said Tuesday the drivers tried to storm past inspectors at the San Ysidro port of entry — which connects San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico — and make their way into the U.S. without stopping.

Two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and a Customs and Border Patrol agent fired their guns to try to prevent them from crossing, he said. There was no return fire.

“It was human smuggling, definitely,” ICE spokeswoman Lauren Mack said.

No word on whether the Border Agents involved have been fired yet, or arrested, for doing their jobs. I expect it.

Buffy has a baby!

imageSarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are proud parents of a baby girl, Charlotte Grace Prinze according to People.

According to a rep for Sarah, the couple “welcomed their daughter on Saturday, Sept. 19. The family is over the moon!”

Charlotte is the first child for the couple.

SMG changed her name to Sarah Michelle Prinze last year on their 5th wedding anniversary. How about that? Normal people in Hollywood, leading a normal life, no plastic surgery, and they gave their baby a normal name. Amazing.

Another atypical actress, Leelee Sobieski, is having a baby with her fiance, NYC fashion designer Adam Kimmel. A hetero fashion designer in NYC? I’ve always found Leelee rather stunning. Not just her killer figure and all that hair, but she seems very intelligent too.

“The happy couple are thrilled to be expecting their first child in December,” the actress’s rep tells Us Weekly.

Pushing her autobiography much? Has-been actress Mackenzie Phillips - the repulsive sister on 70s sitcom One Day At A Time, admits she used to have a consensual sexual relationship. With her father, John Phillips from the singing group The Mamas& The Papas. See? More proof that hippies are sick fuckers, and that sickness gets passed to their offspring.

in a tell-all book out Wednesday, the former childhood actress reveals that her dad, musician John Phillips of the ‘60s band the Mamas and the Papas, engaged with her in a long-term incestuous relationship.

Phillips, 49, who has survived drug addiction, arrests and divorce, writes in the book High on Arrival that she was already a star playing a boy-crazy teen on the TV sitcom One Day at a Time when her father had sex with her on the night before she was to marry Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, in 1979.

It looks like California is going to pass an Ammo Control law that would require all purchasers to be fingerprinted and checked out in the criminal database. Wonderful. This will now add at least $15 - the typical NICS fee - to every ammo purchase. Too bad nobody in Sacremento could figure out that California has lots of other neighboring states, where they’re only too happy to sell ammunition to anyone. Instant black market, just add the Governator’s signature. Dumbshits. But hey, CA is “going after the real killers” - the evil bullets themselves! Funny that EXACTLY this circumstance was predicted by the Right when Hellar v. DC was decided, and again when Obama was elected. Damn shame that with all that advance notice, nobody could stop such a bill from passing. Sure, you can have all the guns you want. We’ll just make sure you can’t get any ammo or components. Or we’ll get the taxes up to around $10 a shot. Nothing in the 2A about ammo! All it says is “arms”.

Oh yeah, Obama was also at the UN today. He made another one of his “unity” speeches, and of course Blamed Bush.

In his first speech as president to the U.N. General Assembly, Obama sought to distance his young administration from unilateral policies of his predecessor, while pledging a U.S. commitment to work with the United Nations in forging a better common future for all.

“The United States stands ready to begin a new chapter of international cooperation—one that recognizes the rights and responsibilities of all nations,” Obama said in concluding a speech that received strong applause.

He told the assembly that the world’s countries, both individually and collectively as the United Nations, have failed to put aside old ways of thinking and acting as they confront threats to global security and stability. Video Watch Obama call for global response to problems »

“Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges,” he said. “If we are honest with ourselves, we need to admit that we are not living up to that responsibility.”

God has a sense of humor

Iran’s only AWACS airplane crashes

Falling plane smashes right into Ayatollah Khomeni’s mausoleum

Oopsie!

Iranian Military Planes Crashes in Annual Parade

TEHRAN - Iran’s sole Simorgh AWACS aircraft was lost during a military parade Sept. 22, one of two Iranian military aircraft that crashed in Tehran while participating in a display to mark the anniversary of the start of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force operated a single Simorgh, a former Iraqi Air Force Adnan. The Adnan AWACS was in turn a modification of a Soviet-built Ilyushin Il-76 transport.

The Simorgh collided with one of the Air Force’s Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighters over the area of the Imam Khomeyni Shrine, southern Tehran. According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred immediately after the parade. Apparently, no mayday call was issued.

Both aircraft crashed in flames. Initial reports indicate that seven crewmembers were killed in the crash.

Up above a big military parade in Tehran on Tuesday, Sept. 22, as Iranian president declared Iran’s armed forces would “chop off the hands” of any power daring to attack his country, two air force jets collided in mid-air. One was Iran’s only airborne warning and control system (AWACS) for coordinating long-distance aerial operations, DEBKAfile’s military and Iranian sources disclose.

The proud military parade, which included a march-past, a line of Shehab-3 missiles and an air force fly-past, was planned to give Ahmadinejad a dazzling send-off for New York and add steel to his UN Assembly speech Wednesday.

Dubbed “Simorgh” (a flying creature of Iranian fable which performs wonders in mid-flight), the AWACS’ appearance, escorted by fighter jets, was to have been the climax for the Iranian Air force’s fly-past over the parade. Instead, it collided with one of escorting planes, a US-made F-5E, and both crashed to the ground in flames. All seven crewmen were killed.

Eye witnesses reported that the flaming planes landed on the mausoleum burial site of the Islamic revolution’s founder Ruhollah Khomeini, a national shrine. According to Western observers, no distress signals came from either cockpit indicating that the collision and explosions were sudden and fast.

DEBKAfile’s military sources say the disaster was a serious blow to the Iranian Air Force not long after its first and only AWACS went into service in April 2008. It was a renovated version of the Russian Ilyushin 76, part of Saddam Hussein’s air force before it was transferred to Iran in 1991 during the first Gulf War.

Tehran hired Russian technicians to carry out renovations and install up-to-date radar. At the launching ceremony of the upgraded AWACS, Air Force commander Brig. Gen. Ahmad Miqani boasted its new radar systems were made in Iran and able to spot any airplane or missile at a distance of 1,000 kilometers from Iran’s borders.

The loss of this airborne control system has left Iran’s air force and air and missile defenses without “electronic eyes” for surveillance of the skies around its borders.

So, as the madman in Tehran goes on about chopping off hands, somebody up above puts out his eyes. Very fitting.

What kind of chance do kids have with stupid idiots teaching in schools? And this one is stupid!

Oh Boy.  Here we are again with this racist pc bull. It just seems to get worse and not better. Ppl complain and still, things stay the same or grow worse.

So the little boy (age 9) is playing with a friend. He says something that a teacher then claims was, “inappropriate language.”

If this article is accurate, if the Mail hasn’t taken any liberties with the facts, then it goes to show how deeply and politically correct folks have become.
Soon folks will be afraid to open their mouths for fear of maybe saying the wrong or politically incorrect thing.
I’d really like to shoot those dumb ass schmucks. Here ya go. Read this one.

Boy, 9, told to apologise for ‘racist’ taunt to Polish classmate while playing soldiers in lesson

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 3:46 PM on 23rd September 2009

A nine-year-old schoolboy was branded racist by teachers after playing a game of soldiers with a Polish friend, his parents have claimed.

Steven Cheek was reprimanded for pointing a finger at the Eastern European classmate and said: ‘We’ve got to shoot the German army’.

His teacher immediately sent him to see the deputy head, who forced him to stand in front of the class and make a humiliating apology.

Steven’s mother Jane Hennessey, 37, of Harlow, Essex, slammed teachers for ‘over-reacting to kids playing games’.

She said: ‘Steven has always wanted to join the Army when he grows up. That’s his burning ambition and he loved learning about the war in class.

‘He’s not a racist - he’s only nine years old and he didn’t single out the Polish boy, who is one of his good friends. That just happened to be who he was playing with.

‘The deputy head shouted at Steven and said ‘that’s racism’, which is ridiculous because he has a Polish aunt and they were on our side during the war.

‘He didn’t understand what he had done wrong - he was just playing a game like kids always do. He came home after being told off and said ‘Mum what’s racism?’

‘I think the school has over-reacted and been very heavy-handed. They could have quietly told him off instead of turning it into a big issue.’

Steven was hauled before the deputy headteacher of Purford Green Junior School, in Harlow, Essex, on September 11 during a lesson.

He pretended to fire a gun with his finger at a fellow pupil, who happened to be Polish, and saying: ‘We’ve got to shoot the German army’.

Teachers claimed that Steven was singling out the pupil, who has not been named, and forced him to apologise publicly for being racist.

But Steven’s mum Jane, who lives with his electrician father Darren Cheek, 39, and sister Amy, 18, claims the boys are friends and were playing a game.

She said: ‘He was just playing like boys do. I am so angry and he has been upset by it because he does not know why he has been told off.

‘Steven has a Polish auntie and he has been bullied since the incident after he had to stand up in front of class.

‘What made me furious was that the head has carried out an official report on Steven which will stay on his record in the future.’

OBAMA TELLS UN AMERICA IS READY TO WORK WITH IT AGAIN …. I THINK I MISS BUSH

I think the regulars here know exactly how I feel about the United Nations, so I can only see this as a bad omen. I don’t want us to work closer with those gas bags.  I want us OUT of that damned body.  Not in my lifetime but I can hope.

Anyway, that’s how the headline read today.  I wonder if working closer to those $£!!:(**&^% will cost us any of our sovereignty as the EU has cost the UK.  I know it isn’t exactly the same but ... but it’s about in the same league.

US President Barack Obama is preparing to address the world at the UN General Assembly in New York on his ambitious foreign policy plans.

By Our Foreign Staff
Published: 10:48AM BST 23 Sep 2009

“Around the world, even as we pursue a new era of engagement with other nations, we are raising a broader engagement, new partnerships between societies and citizens, community organisations and businesses,” he said.

“We have been speaking directly to people around the world, including our friends across the Muslim world, with whom we launch new beginnings based on mutual interests and mutual respect.”

“This spirit of partnership is a defining feature of our foreign policy.”

Yes, this is a very short post and you can read more at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/world

I really hate the thought of “working closely” with any of those mentioned. Set the blood to boil.

Help A Lady Out

Time for a little payback folks ...

Reader Carol doesn’t comment here much, but she sends me emails all the time. I couldn’t begin to count all the posts those mails have given birth to.

Now for all you guys who can appreciate a woman who isn’t afraid of a bit of hard physical work, or getting her hands dirty, or messing about with cars ... Carol is amazing. Forget “we took this old car and fixed it up some.” Forget “we had a nice smallblock bored, decked, and built up, then dropped it in when the old straight six died.”

No, Carol is more than a Do It Yourselfer. She’s an Improver, which is even better. She and her husband found an old clapped out 1962 Corvette in pieces, and they put it back together, in better than new condition, and they modernized it at the same time. So that means they did all the retro work, plus put in all the good stuff - brakes, suspension, comfortable seats, good headlights, a reliable engine - that didn’t exist in 1962.

Now Carol has her car in some kind of contest run by Texaco. And she needs some votes. So go over here, register under any alias you want, and vote. Her car is in the 1960s bracket. This is the link to it.

As she puts it:

My husband I owned a 1962 Corvette which I hated to drive because of the hard steering and non-power brakes. The car was also a numbers matching, NCRS top flight winner, so we really hated to drive it very much because of fear that something would break or that someone would damage or steal it. In 2000 we decided to build a car that would retain the classic lines of the old Corvettes, but would have modern amenities such as air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and a modern engine and drivetrain. We found a 1962 Corvette in Findley, OH in January 2000. The car did not have the original engine or transmission so we did not feel bad about modifying it. When we purchased the car it was in a body shop being prepared for painting and all the chrome pieces, stainless trim, doors, hood, trunk lid, lights, windshield, and convertible top had been removed from the car and stored in boxes. We trailered the car home, removed the body, and modified the frame to accept the front and rear suspension from a 1984 Corvette. During the reconstruction of the car we added power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, and leather bucket seats, all creature comforts that the original ’62 Corvette did not possess. We also added a GM Ram Jet 350 electronic fuel injected engine and a T-56 six speed manual transmission. The car now drives like a modern sports car but still maintains the classic lines of the older Corvettes. Probably the most unique aspect of this car is that my husband and I did all of the work ourselves, including all the welding, fiberglass work, upholstery work, custom metal fabrication, and painting. The car was completed in August of 2002 and since then we have put almost 35,000 miles on it. From our home in North Carolina we have driven this car to upstate New York, Corpus Christi, TX, several trips to Orlando, FL and eight trips to Carlisle, PA. A complete pictorial account of the construction of this car is available at: www.carols62.com

car rates and you can leave a comment if you care to do so. You have til Oct 10th to vote.  Please pass this around to your friends also.
Thank you for your vote.
Carol

So this means you need to give them a real email address. Which might mean that Texaco is going to send you some ads. Big deal. They all have that Unsubscribe thingy at the bottom. It’s a small price to pay. And this looks like a helluva ride. Early 60s style with modern comforts, power, and reliability. Best of both worlds.

Texaco sends you back a little email - note my sneaky alias! Cool, huh?

She’s got my vote. I gave it a “10”.

PS - what’s in it for her? Looks like a few free tanks of gas and a case of oil, and some guy who will draw a picture of the car. Big huge prize? No, not really. But it’s an easy way to say thanks for all the great content she’s given you for several years now.
