Juneteenth, Again

Today, Americans celebrate Juneteenth—when in 1865 slavery finally ended throughout the entire United States. Sadly, few people know that Juneteenth was a high water mark for African- Americans. Soon after that great day, the Democratic Party defeated the post-Civil War policies of the Republican Party, delaying the civil rights movement until the 1950s.

On this day in 1865, Union Army General Gordon Granger landed in Galveston, Texas and spread the word. See Zak’s Grand Old Partisan Blog for more details. [this is his annual link from BMEWS.]

Yesterday the Senate issued a non-binding resolution apologizing for slavery. Isn’t that wonderful?

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution yesterday apologizing for slavery, making way for a joint congressional resolution and the latest attempt by the federal government to take responsibility for 2 1/2 centuries of slavery.

“You wonder why we didn’t do it 100 years ago,” Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), lead sponsor of the resolution, said after the unanimous-consent vote. “It is important to have a collective response to a collective injustice.”

The Senate’s apology follows a similar apology passed last year by the House. One key difference is that the Senate version explicitly deals with the long-simmering issue of whether slavery descendants are entitled to reparations, saying that the resolution cannot be used in support of claims for restitution. The House is expected to revisit the issue next week to conform its resolution to the Senate version.

Even among proponents of a congressional apology, reaction to yesterday’s vote was mixed. Carol M. Swain, a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University who had pushed for the Bush administration to issue an apology, called the Democratic-controlled Senate’s resolution “meaningless” since the party and federal government are led by a black president and black voters are closely aligned with the Democratic party.

“The Republican Party needed to do it,” Swain said. “It would have shed that racist scab on the party.”

Racist scab? You mean the one that isn’t there, that only the far left and professional victims and race baiters can see? No, we ended slavery. We gave you your freedom. The Democrats didn’t, and you didn’t earn it, or win it yourselves. It was a gift. From the “racist” Republicans. With a lot of help from the Union Army.

So of course the TV news had the head of the NAACP on this morning going on about how this gesture wasn’t enough, because it didn’t address reparations.

Hey, remember that big national discussion on race we were all accused of being too afraid to have 10 months or so ago? [Afraid. Yeah right. More like sick to death and bored to tears.]

Fine. Here’s my take on reparations: no one bloody cent. Every day you are alive is a reparation. Go get a passport. It says you’re a citizen of the United States of America. That’s your reparation. Every dollar spent on social services, Affirmative Action, government cheese, special standards, Abbot schools, and so on down a nearly infinite list - that’s your reparation. Save your money and go take a long vacation in Africa, so that you see the utter shithole that entire continent is. Disease infested, starving, uncaring, crime ridden, violent, tribal, uneducated, barbaric turd world “nations” run by tyrants and dictators. All of whom are black! Just like 95% of the people! Then know that your passport allows you to leave and come back here. That’s all the reparation you could ever want. What, you want money too? Go get a job and earn some.

PATIENT IS OKAY, NO THANKS TO AMBULANCE THAT WENT THE WRONG WAY.  DOH!

Maybe the driver couldn’t read road signs.  Or couldn’t read? Who knows.

Has to be last post from me today.  Can’t stay up anymore.

cheers.

AMBULANCE PATIENT TAKEN FOR A RIDE.  THE WRONG WAY.  2WICE!

WINCHESTER CHRONICLE
By Andrew Napier »

A HAMPSHIRE man was twice taken the wrong way to hospital by ambulance crews, due to faulty sat navs.
Leslie Palmer, 79, endured a 45-minute trips both times when it should only have taken 20 minutes.

But separate ambulance crews in separate vehicles told his wife of 55 years, Jean, that they had to use sat nav as that was the rule.
Mr Palmer was taken from his home in Bishop’s Waltham with an infection on June 3, with Mrs Palmer, 77, accompanying him to go to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, 11 miles away.

Mrs Palmer explained that the first time she knew something was wrong was when the driver said they were in Charles Watts Way, Hedge End - the opposite direction - and now 19 miles away from the hospital.

‘’I heard the man inside tell the driver ‘get on the motorway’ but it was much longer than it should have been,’’ she explained.
Mrs Palmer, a retired nanny, said that an ambulance was again called for her retired banker husband on the evening of June 5 and again the ambulance set off on a bizarre route at 6.50pm.

‘’We were soon going through lanes I had never seen before. We were on little roads no bigger than the ambulance and my husband’s head was shaking around and we thought we were going to end up in a farm yard at any minute.”
Mrs Palmer said that the ambulance eventually popped up out of the lanes at Fishers Pond at 7.30pm but still five miles from the hospital.

‘’Luckily my husband was not seriously ill, but I am concerned that if he had been more serious the delay could have made it much worse.
‘’It’s an utter nonsense. Taxi drivers have to know the roads, why can’t the ambulance driver know the roads - I cannot believe it.’’

An ambulance spokeswoman said staff had the use of satellite navigation systems to travel to all locations and crews did have the option to override the system if they were familiar with the route.
She said the service covered a vast area and that some crews would have to use the system if they didn’t know the area.

‘’It is likely that there was an anomaly with the settings (of the sat nav) which has been checked. We would like to confirm that this is an unusual occurrence and would like to reassure the public that we will do everything we can to avoid a similar occurrence.

Gipsy families ask for £2 million to leave ILLEGAL camp.

A network of Gipsy families who are facing eviction from Britain’s biggest traveller site tried to persuade their local council to pay them £2 million to move.

SOURCE

Richard Sheridan, leader of the Crays Hill camp, also known as Dale Farm, tried to broker the deal with Basildon District Council in Essex, saying they would use the cash to buy a new plot.

During a phone call to the local authority, Mr Sheridan said the £2 million earmarked for the eviction of the 86 families at the site in Billericay, Essex, should be given to them for an alternative site.

Mr Sheridan rang the secretary of Bala Mahendran, chief executive of the Council, who recorded the exchange and emailed it to the council’s legal department.

The email read: “Just to confirm I have spoke with Richard Sheridan – a tricky call!

“[He] suggested the council give him the £2 million it will cost to remove the travellers and they will all leave and buy another site.”

The council did not respond to the request.

The row over the illegal camp has been rumbling on for almost eight years, during which Basildon Council have paid more than £700,000 in legal fees.

Council leader Tony Ball said the deal was a ‘non-starter’ but said they would continue to negotiate with the travellers.

He said: “The approximate value of £2 million to which Richard Sheridan refers represents not only the expected cost of the eviction, but also the cost of returning the land to green belt status.”

Talking about the offer, he said: “It is a non-starter. Where would he go? Another unauthorised site?

“We do not want to spend taxpayers’ money like this.

“If he has the influence he says he has to get people to move, without the payment, he is worth talking to. No one wants an eviction.

“He is the only man we know of to represent travellers so we will engage with him in the absence of anyone else.”

Mr Sheridan, 40, has not been an appellant in the long legal battle to fight eviction, but his wife Martina McCarthy claimed legal aid to carry out her fight through the courts.

Grattan Puxon, a gipsy campaigner, said the cash demand was one of the options considered by the travellers.

He said: “Basildon is still under obligation to identify about 60 pitches.

“One option we want to put to them is to identify land with guaranteed planning permission which we could bid for or they could use the money set aside for the eviction to fund it.”

Len Gridley, 50, a local resident who has fought against the camp for five years, said: “Mr Sheridan is holding the council to ransom. This is not about homes but money.

“He has shown he is ready willing and able to find another site.”

Nothing for me to add to what I said in previous post except this.
If the system enjoys the screwing it’s getting from these folks, then the system will damn well get more of the same. Again and again.

The problem seems to me to be less with the travellers then with the authorities who have allowed this mess to get where it is.  This is where appeasement leads.

Doctors told to give priority to gypsies because these ppl are now designated as, a race.

Just as the wife was getting over her cold I caught it from her.  Not very nice past 24 hours and now, it looks like she’s getting it back. What a sight we make if anyone could see and hear us.  Coughing and sneezing and wheezing and honking and going thru Klennex in copious amounts.  And I don’t think I’m up to much posting today.  Can’t seem to get warm or else go from too warm to too cold.  Bah.  Colds are a pain from head to wherever. Pick a place. We probably have some discomfort there.  sneeze-cough.

I was greeted by this article first thing today and have broken a rule of not posting the same story at two places.  But the nature of this total outrage just BEGS to be posted.  Some of you have your own blog sites I know, and I hope you will pass this stupidity on.

So then, based on race you can qualify for things that native born Brits who are taxed can not qualify for.  Like extra time with your doctor and waits at the office.

Speaking of waits.  My wife who is a native born Brit is losing the hearing in one ear and the other ain’t so good either. She has an appointment at the hosp. clinic and the wait is ten weeks.

Just where does this stupidity end and when will it end?  My guess is never to the last and things are always open on the first. The idiots that control things can ALWAYS find something.

This is another one of those articles I had to make myself post. I have run across many stupid things and have posted them but this surely must take a prize of some kind.  Damn it all this is a lifestyle.  If I decided it had appeal and wanted to join a group of these folks, would my race designation change?

Gypsies and travellers should be given priority in NHS hospitals and GP surgeries, according to Government guidance.

By Ben Leach
Published: 9:44AM BST 18 Jun 2009

They should be given longer consultations, and should be seen by GPs when they walk in without an appointment, even if doctors are fully-booked.

The average length of a consultation is five or ten minutes but travellers will be given 20 minutes and allowed to bring relatives into the consulting rooms.

The guidelines have been introduced because, under race laws, gypsies and travellers are defined as minority ethnic groups and the NHS is obliged to consider their special needs and circumstances.

Yet no special treatment is promised for other groups such as those from the Asian sub-continent or Africa, the Daily Mail reported.

The guidance forms part of the Primary Care Service Framework, drawn up by the NHS Primary Care Commissioning - an advisory service for local health trusts - to help all PCTs understand the Department of Health’s policy.

It will go on trial for between three and five years, Although PCTs do not necessarily have to follow the guidelines, they could be breaking human rights law and the Race Relations Act of 2000 if they do not.

Tory health spokesman Andrew Lansley said: “No one should get priority treatment in the NHS apart from our Armed Forces, to whom we owe a special debt of gratitude.

“Decisions about who should be treated first should be based on a patient’s medical needs, not their ethnic group.”

A spokesman for the Department of Health said: “We are aware that gypsies and travellers have experienced tremendous difficulties in accessing primary care.

“Partly as a result, community members experience the worst health inequalities of any disadvantaged group.

“The framework suggests fast-tracking for two reasons. First, as a matter of urgency, inroads need to be made into the health problems of gypsies and travellers.

“Second, if mobile community members are not seen quickly, the opportunity could be lost as they move on or are moved on. This should not be to the detriment of service provision to the settled community.”

Settled community my achin’ ass.

Rush Limbaugh: Obama is Destroying the Economy

Rush has made his opening monologue from June 8th available on YouTube. It’s broken into ten parts. Here’s part one, as viewed through the DittoCam:

“You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.” - Charles A. Beard

Runs Much Better Now, Thanks

$40 and a cup of coffee

image

I finally got around to replacing the oxygen sensors in my Saturn. For the past several months I’ve had the Check Engine light coming on once in a while. Since I own one of those OBDC readers, I’ve been able to get the codes and clear them. It’s always been a P0133 or a P0138. Both of these are low voltage readings on the oxygen sensors. Lately I’ve been getting those codes almost every time I drove anywhere, so I knew it was time to replace the sensors. And my gas mileage has been the pits. Seriously. 25mpg on the tank, from a 2.0 liter rebuilt engine with only 25K miles on it? No, that ain’t right.

So I ordered the sensors. I got the good ones from Bosch, though all the brands cost a similar amount. Yikes, $160 delivered. I managed to get the little front one installed myself, since it screws right into the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine. The big one though was a right pain. That guy screws into the exhaust pipe just behind the catalytic converter. And since the car is 13 years old with 186,000 miles on it, it’s pretty rusty under there. To say nothing of all the heat shield flanges that get in the way, or the fact that I can only jack the car up perhaps a foot, which isn’t enough to apply enough leverage to unscrew the old sensor.

The problem quite probably was only with the front sensor. As soon as I put that one in the Check Engine lights went away, the car ran a whole lot better, and gas mileage went way up. But I’d bought both, so I might as well put both in. I took the car down to the neighborhood garage this morning, and I got there as the owner Pete was opening the doors. I brought coffee. He put the car up on the lift and took a look, and found out that the “bung” - the mounting boss on the exhaust pipe, which is nothing more than a nut welded over a hole - had mostly rusted away. Wrenching hard on that would have torn it right off the pipe. Not cool. So he used his favorite tool, a “hot wrench” ( aka welding torch ) to roast the bung good and hot, and the old sensor came right off. In and out in 15 minutes. Cost me $40, which was exactly how much cash I had in my wallet. I counted it out to him and showed him my empty wallet. “Well” he goes, “that means I’ve done my job properly.” Wise guy. LOL

So the whole task cost me $200. But I figure my mileage will jump up to 33-35mpg on the tank, which means ... I’ll actually be saving money in about 5 months. And of course, not burning out my catalytic converter by flooding it with overly rich exhaust. And I’m certain my car’s emissions will improve. Cool. Going Green as a side effect.

As part of the “new economy” folks are keeping their cars longer. That means more maintenance over the years. Oxygen sensors have a HUGE impact in how much gas your vehicle uses, and how much it pollutes, but they don’t last forever. Most of them have a 100,000 mile service interval at best. This pair lasted nearly twice that long.

Evicted from cave dwelling without fire exit . AFTER SIXTEEN YEARS. The Nanny State in action!

FIRST, I must thank Christopher again for that great post from yesterday which I’ve just seen.
It’s also why I’m ten minutes late with my own post here. Which wasn’t intended.  In fact, I originally had no intention of getting out of bed this morning. Wife brought up a hot drink and the paper while I sneezed my way through the first few pages of the morning paper.
Then I saw this on page 9 and said, hold on. What stupidity is this?  (I may talk to myself but at least I don’t answer myself. Well, not always.)

Just who is this guy hurting?  What has happened to free will when you aren’t imposing on others and willing to take risks on your own?  And what risk exactly?
The guy may be a loony tune to some folks but so what.  He’s been there for 16 years without any problem.
But along comes the nanny state to claim that A CAVE NEEDS AN EXIT!
Well then it is no longer a cave. Is it?  Jeesh! batbatbatbatbat

So I simply HAD to exit bed and boot and post this story.  During which process I found some other interesting items and might get to em later. Not sure yet.

Meanwhile ..........

Eco-warrior evicted from cave dwelling without fire exit
An eco-warrior has been evicted from the cave he lives in on his allotment patch in Brighton, East Sussex, because it doesn’t have a fire exit.

By Aislinn Simpson
The Telegraph

Hilaire Purbrick, 45, has inhabited the seven-foot cave he dug on his plot and dined off the land for the past 16 years.

But after having the dwelling checked by the fire brigade, Brighton and Hove City Council decided it did not have enough exits and sought an injunction banning him from entering it.

Mr Purbrick ignored the order and continued to live in the cave, but was pulled back into court on Tuesday when a judge granted the council a possession order which will allow him to be formally evicted and banned indefinitely from the site.

Mr Purbrick now plans to take his fight to the European Court of Human Rights, claiming his right to a private life and freedom has been breached by the order.

“I am still living there and intend to continue to do so,” he said. “I know lots of people in this town who live in houses with only one door with no fire exit.”

The keen gardener has a history of overcoming legal challenges to his earthy home.

In 1999, town hall authorities threatened to remove him, claiming he was running an illegal vegetable shop.

But Mr Purbick won a reprieve after claiming his site “was hardly a Sainsbury’s” and he only had one customer – a pregnant woman who bought his sprouts.

The following year he successfully fought an eviction order after complaints he was keeping chickens and bees without permission.

Granting the possession order at Brighton County Court, Judge Jonathan Simpkiss said there were legitimate health and safety concerns that the cave could collapse.

“The council considers this was a danger to life. They have a responsibility to the public,” he said.

Mr Purbrick’s decision to appeal to the European courts was made after the judge refused leave to appeal in a UK court, saying it was a “hopeless cause of trying to resist the inevitable”.

Lowered Expectations

Get Your Priorities White Right

The Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced in Annapolis recently that “diversity is the number one priority” at the Naval Academy.

The Naval Academy superintendent, Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler, echoed him. Everyone understands that “diversity” here means nonwhite skins.

Fowler insisted recently that we needed to have Annapolis graduates who “looked like” the Fleet, where enlisted people are about 42 percent nonwhite, largely African American and Hispanic.

Go read. It will only take you 3 minutes, tops.

Ouch. For our sake, I hope they are all equally “smartened up” by the time they graduate.

The enlisted ranks of the Navy are 42% minority? When both major minority groups together don’t quite make 28% of the overall population? What gives? Oh, I get it: the Navy is just one more minority government jobs program.

Just one more? You betcha. One of thousands. Go ahead, look into it. Find out - if you can - just how large a percentage they comprise at the state and federal level, even if you’re only talking “actual” unelected government employees, and leaving out teachers, post office workers, FBI agents, etc. (because the percents increase if you include those categories) Then compare that to actual population numbers, and the conclusion will be obvious: a seriously large percentage of the working adults of the 2 or 3 “top” minorities are career government employees, at a rate 4 or 5 times higher than any “majority” citizens.

No. Hell no. If we’re going to be forced to play “diversity”, then the entire military, not just the Navy, or even just Annapolis, has to be sliced and diced so that it’s membership reflects actual citizen percentages. And every single government jobs group should be exactly the same way. Every. Single. One. The firings and forced retirements will begin at 9am tomorrow.

I don’t want lowered standards for the military officer’s colleges. Hella no. I want them raised. I want future generations to complain “I couldn’t get into West Point, so I had to go to Yale. Bummer.”

Carter to Obama: Remove Hamas From Terror List

Former President Jimmy Carter will urge the Obama administration to remove Hamas from the terrorist list, FOX News has learned.

Carter, a chief defender of the U.S.-designated terror group, said Tuesday he will meet with officials in the Obama administration in two days to discuss his latest trip to the Middle East.

Meanwhile, two Palestinian sources told FOX News that the group had discovered two roadside bombs planted near a crossing between Israel and Gaza on a path Carter’s convoy took to meet with the group’s leaders—Hamas advisers, though, reportedly cast doubt on claims that extremists were trying to kill Carter.

Carter was granted special waivers by the U.S. Secret Service allowing him to enter Gaza. Employees of the U.S. executive branch are not allowed into the strip since a roadside bomb killed three U.S. security personnel in 2003.

Carter was visiting with Hamas leaders to try to persuade them to accept the international community’s conditions for ending its boycott of the Islamic militant group.

The international community has asked Hamas to recognize Israel, renounce violence and accept previous peace deals as part of ongoing efforts for Palestinians overall to acquire their own country. Hamas has refused.

Jimma must have forgotten why Hamas is on that list in the first place: because they are a bunch of evil, murdering scum. Thankfully, Dhimmi Watch has not forgotten.

Jimmy Carter merits the contempt of all free people.

PS - I don’t buy the “Hamas foiled assassination attempt aimed at Carter” story for a heartbeat. They planted the bomb, then they came by later and blew it up. It’s a con, totally.

Burkha rage: The traditional dress can make officials back off. A rant from the pages of The Mail.

Over the last few days I’ve been playing nurse for my wife who came down with a cold.  Bothersome things those.  Being Brit of course meant that lots of tea had to be provided for AND ... articles like this hidden from her least she become violently ill in addition to ill.
Actually, the wife doesn’t do violence in act or language. But she does get mighty upset seeing what’s become of her country.

Well, she’s pretty well over her cold now but darn if I don’t have it full blown.  You know, the whole nine yards. Scratchy throat, sniff ‘n’ sneeze and generally feel like whatever it was the cat was supposed to have dragged in.  BTW, what did the cat drag in? I never was able to discover that.

No kidding, I should be in bed but that ain’t in the cards.  Construction next door continues on a home I am CERTAIN has got a hidden 6th bedroom in it. One of the crew let something slip and it wasn’t hard to figure out.  Looking out a side window today I see that where yesterday I could see the workmen from the waist up, today the view is only the head.  The wall is going up that fast.  GLOOM. And it’s a lot closer to our house then the old cottage.  And the cement mixer is directly outside one of the bedrooms and can’t be placed anywhere else due to lack of space in their working area.

Oh yeah. And remind me to tell you about the water line and the future meter charge we have to look forward to.  More GLOOM.

So anyway, I have this rotten cold and feel like heck and of course that can only mean one thing.

GASP!  IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD!

No, madam, it’s you who have offended MY values

Burkha rage: The traditional dress can make officials back off.

On a train to London, a young woman wearing a burkha, with only her heavily made-up eyes peeping out, did not have a valid ticket.

Challenged by the guard, the young woman gave a litany of excuses. She had left her bag at her boyfriend’s, he had bought the ticket, she had no money on her…

image

My friend Jane, who was in the same carriage, noticed how the guard became nervous as the Muslim girl presented herself as an innocent in a society she didn’t understand.

Instead of issuing a penalty fine, the guard backed off, shrugging his helplessness at the other passengers.

So imagine my friend’s surprise when she got off at the same station as burkha girl and saw this ‘penniless innocent’ whip out a credit card from under the folds of her dress with which she promptly bought a Tube ticket.

Jane was so incensed she sent me a text message, explaining what she’d witnessed. It ended: ‘Attack of Burkha Rage. Grrr.’

Jane is not a BNP voter. She is a university lecturer who specialises in the developing world.

Yet Burkha Rage has become our personal shorthand for someone taking the mickey out of our country and its tolerant ways.

Despite a growing acceptance that multi-culturalism has been deeply damaging to race relations, there are still almost weekly opportunities for a fit of Burkha Rage.

Look at Fata Lemes, the Muslim bar waitress who won £3,000 compensation this week for quitting her job after she objected to wearing a red cocktail dress.

Apologies if I find it hard to keep a straight face, but my jaw keeps dropping open. Miss Lemes took the job in a bar and left after eight days, claiming managers asked her to wear a dress that made her look like a prostitute.

Actually, the frock is conservative by London bar standards - more Petersfield garden party than Peter Stringfellow. But fair enough if Miss Lemes didn’t like it.

What was not fair enough was her demand for £20,000 compensation.

An employment tribunal found that Miss Lemes had ‘overstated her trauma’. You can say that again. Her compensation claim was ‘manifestly absurd’.

Yet instead of telling the 33-year-old to grow up and accept that a British city bar is not readily confused with a convent, the tribunal awarded her £2,919.95.

As a Bosnian Muslim, it said, she ‘holds views about modesty and decency which some might think unusual in Britain in the 21st century’.

They might think it was unusual if they had spotted that modest flower Miss Lemes on Facebook wearing a vest top with a gaping cleavage. But that image was not produced in court.

image

How exactly are British employers supposed to avoid hurting the feelings of grievance-mongers like Fata Lemes?

Imagine a job interview where a bar manager dared to suggest that a Muslim woman might not feel at ease in their uniform. Before you could say ‘Mine’s a Cosmopolitan’, Miss Lemes would have sued for discrimination.

I’m afraid Fata Lemes is no better than the girl dodging the train fare. Both are quick to hide behind their religious identity and play the victim. Both are happy to embarrass their host nation into ignoring common sense.

Let me be clear: there are millions of British Muslims who respect our cultural norms. It’s the minority of opportunists who provoke Burkha Rage.

(Millions? Really? As in, millions?  Oh, I’d bet not that high at all. Hundreds maybe. OK,ok. A few thousand. But millions?  Nah. )

You see it from time to time: the Muslim shop assistant who refused to serve a woman buying First Bible Stories for her grandson because it was ‘unclean’.

And the disgraceful capitulation of Sainsbury’s to Islamic checkout staff who refused to sell alcohol.

Gordon Brown, a recent convert to Britishness, has promised that the emphasis for immigrants must be on fitting in, learning our ways and our language.

Yet, only yesterday, a Metropolitan Police chief admitted the bill for translation services for criminals and victims was set to soar to a staggering £20million by 2012.

Scotland Yard blames a growth in 50 distinct communities of more than 10,000 people and having to deal with more than 300 languages.

At no point in the statement is there any mention of compulsory English lessons.

No suggestion of people needing to fit in with our ways, rather than us with theirs. I feel a small attack of Burkha Rage coming on.

SOURCE

jeez is this woman ugly er what? And what a liar. And she gets away with it!
Remember what I said yesterday in a rant of my own.
This place is DOOMED!

A teenage girl was stripped naked and beaten by members of a notorious girl gang.  The 16-year-old victim was humiliated by a gang known as ‘Girls over Men’ because she had supposedly ‘disrespected’ the leader’s mother.

Later, one of the attackers said she wished the gang could have got a man to rape their victim.

The teenager was abducted at knifepoint as she walked with a friend in daylight in Stratford, East London, a court heard. Five gang members took her to an alley where her jeans, T-shirt and knickers were slashed from her body.

The girl was whipped with buckled belts before another girl arrived and snapped the traumatised victim on her mobile phone, texting the images to friends.

The gang fled the alley, leaving the injured girl to wander naked through the streets. A judge described the attack as ‘ferocious, deliberate and chilling’.

He jailed the 17-year-old gang leader for four and a half years and a 16-year-old member for three years.

A third gang member, Sophia Austin, 18, who took the mobile phone pictures, received six months in a young offenders’ institution, suspended for one year.

Paris Gentile, 18, who was accused of ‘egging on’ the beating, was cleared by jurors following a direction from the judge.

Jurors at Snaresbrook Crown Court were shown photos of the girl’s injuries.

‘They clearly show the indentations of the buckle or motif that was on the belt,’ said prosecutor Jonathan Dunne.

He said that while on remand the 16-year-old gang member had bragged to fellow inmates about the attack.

Terror scene: The 16-year-old had her clothes slashed from her body and pictures taken of her naked in Waddington Street, Stratford - she was told if she ran she’d be killed

She was overheard by a member of staff telling girls at the Oakhill secure training centre in Milton Keynes that she wished the gang could have got a man to rape their victim.

‘She said that photos had been taken and if she could have got one of her boys down, she would have made her have sex,’ said Mr Dunne.

The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent while Austin, of Stratford, admitted causing the girl actual bodily harm. The 17-year-old denied assaulting and stripping the girl, telling police the youngster had taken off her own clothes ‘like a flash’.

Giving evidence, she admitted intimidating and pulling the victim’s hair but denied kicking, punching or lashing her. She was convicted of kidnapping and actual bodily harm with intent.

Judge William Kennedy said: ‘This was a premeditated group attack in daylight in a public place where the vulnerable victim, like you a young woman, suffered a number of injuries which were in totality serious enough to amount to grievous bodily harm.

‘She is left with scars and psychological trauma.  ‘She offered neither provocation nor much resistance, you degraded her by the forced removal of her clothes, the assault was with belts which came to hand at the scene.’

The victim’s mother said her daughter, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will live with the horror of the attack for the rest of her life.

The 38-year-old said: ‘Every time she closes her eyes she sees what happened. ‘My girl was not in a gang, she was an innocent victim.

‘We are trying to move away from here. We need a fresh start. The whole family has been affected by this. It is very rough around here. There are lots of gangs and the kids have to be streetwise to survive.’

A sample from The Patriot Post. Free subscription, which also gets you a Founding Fathers quote of the day email. Pretty decent reading.

FAITH AND FAMILY

“In a time when many homes are marked by absentee fathers, the last thing we need to be beating up on fatherhood in general. Yet, ‘dad’ seems to be the only person in modern society who it is acceptable to belittle. To what extent does such treatment pervert our son’s developing attitudes about the men they are expected to become? And why would we teach our daughters that there’s no real hope or need to marry a strong, reliable man of character? Timeless messages about the wisdom of fathers in shows like ‘Father Knows Best’ have disappeared. They just aren’t ‘politically correct.’ As a wife and mother of two young men who are being raised in an anti-male culture that spews the mantra of radical feminism, I’d like to say a few words to America’s dads: We need you. Loving fathers are critical to the development of children. And the truth is that every woman is a better person when she has a good man to rely on. Dads are not an ‘optional’ family accessory to be tossed in the corner like dirty socks or trampled on like a door mat. We should reject the attitudes of both women who treat them that way and of any man who has bought the lie and started assuming the loser role. And we need to let our boys know that one of the greatest contributions they can make as adults is to be strong fathers who are committed to their families. ... To good husbands and dads everywhere, thank you for what you contribute to your families and to society. And to wives and mothers, let’s make sure we affirm the men in our lives and teach our children to respect them too. A good man is a priceless blessing from God. Let’s remember to treat them like the treasures they are.” --columnist Rebecca Hagelin

Mirror, mirror, on the wall …

Another email! Yes, I’m finally getting caught up with all of the great stuff BMEWS readers send me. I think I even have some Rancino graphics in there somewhere, but this one comes from Carol. Thanks Carol!

Subject: Narcissism

Dr. Vaknin has written extensively about narcissism.

Dr. Vaknin States “I must confess I was impressed by Sen.Barack Obama from the first time I saw him.  At first I was excited to see a black candidate.  He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident - a wholesome presidential package.  I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling.  His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words. Obama’s speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history.  Never a politician in this land had such quasi “religious” impact on so many people.  The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is not an ordinary man.  He is not a genius.  In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects.”

Barack Obama is a narcissist.

Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love believes “Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.” Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism.  He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person.  When he talks about narcissism everyone listens.  Vaknin says that Obama’s language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).  Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves.  Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People’s Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist.  David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao,Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our t ime.  All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers.  They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life.  They gave them hope!  They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom.  When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don’t know it until it is too late.  One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse.

“Obama’s early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations,” says Vaknin.  “Mixed-race marriages were even less common then.  His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old).  Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident.  Then his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia , a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a s tep-father.  At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white)grandparents.  He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979.  She died of cancer in 1995”.

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists.  They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them.  Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands.  They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service.  The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image.  He creates a cult of personality.  His admirers become his co-dependents.  Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective.  They are focused on one thing alone and that is power.  All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities.  Anything that do es not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention.

If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it.  The “present” vote is a safe vote.  No one can criticize him if things go wrong.  Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.  Obama’s election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations.

The University of Chicago Law School provided him a lot longer than expected and at the end it evolved into, guess what?  His own autobiography!  Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which he had been paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self.  He entitled the book Dreams from My Father.

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still nobody.  So did Stalin.  For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self.  Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself?  Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless.  As the norm, they lack conscience.  This is evident from Obama’s lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month.

A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother.  Why?  Because, his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power.

A narcissist cares for no one but himself.  This election is like no other in the history of America . The issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake.  What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?  I hate to sound alarmist, but one is a fool if one is not alarmed. Many politicians are narcissists.  They pose no threat to others...They are simply self serving and selfish.

Obama evidences symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton for example.  To him reality and fantasy are intertwined.  This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw.  Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent.  It is this disguise that makes them treacherous.

Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama.  But this man could put an end to their party.  The great majority of blacks have also decided to vote for Obama.  Only a fool does not know that their support for him is racially driven.  This is racism, pure and simple.  The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I predict, he will cause widespread resentment among the whites.

The blacks are unlikely to give up their support of their man.  Cultic mentality is pernicious and unrelenting.  They will dig their heads deeper in the sand and blame Obama’s detractors of racism. This will cause a backlash among the whites.

The white supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and they will receive widespread support.  I predict that in less than four years, racial tensions will increase to levels never seen since the turbulent 1960’s.

Obama will set the clock back decades… America is the bastion of freedom.  The peace of the world depends on the strength of America , and its weakness translates into the triumph of terrorism and victory of rogue nations.

It is no wonder that Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, the Castrists, the Hezbollah, the Hamas, the lawyers of the Guantanamo terrorists and virtually all sworn enemies of America are so thrilled by the prospect of their man in the White House. America is on the verge of destruction.  There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
