Title, title, BWAHAHAHA!!!!

I don’t remember where I found this. I posted it on my personal blog a few days ago.

Well, I watched it again. And I thought: ‘This is worthy of BMEWS’. Now, you can probably take that a couple of different ways. I prefer to think that the average BMEWS reader appreciates sick, disparaging, humor. You know, the kind of stuff that passes as news in the UK Telegraph. (right peiper?)

So, here you go. (rolls saving throw… misses… damn!)

AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS STORY. BOTTOM LINE .. PC WINS, CITIZENS LOSE. TIS ALWAYS SO

"It is outrageous for a school or local authority to think it can ride roughshod over parents and impose lessons upon children that arouse such widespread concerns.”
Comrades, comrades.  Calm yourselves.  This is our brave cowardly new world being created and the state with co-operation of Comrade Minister for Thought and Behavior approves.  Besides, it’s all about “diversity” which will all be explained in the new revised edition of UK version of Little Red Book.

Lesbian Gay Homosexual Bisexual Transgender History Month

Amazing. Pollution gets a month all its own.

Now then, I am not certain about the Transgender thing to be very honest.
It is my understanding only based on news articles and a very few interviews during news programs, that these people are not necessarily homosexual, but instead may be born with parts of em from both sexes.  ???  Do I have that right?  I have also read about it in links and am under the impression that a person somehow knows early on that the “body they have isn’t really theirs.” I’ve seen that quote more then once.

I’m not a doctor and have no training whatever in things of that nature and so think transgender ppl may (I stress that word, “may") be very legitimate, as opposed to a lifestyle I find really odd at best and disgusting at worst.

My views on the subject are known and the point of this story really belong in a heading like Parents Rights.  Apparently they have none when up against the homosexual lobby which appears very willing to force their point of view on children’s education.  Maybe the correct term is INDOCTRINATION.

Tis really a sick fraken world!

Parents face court action for removing children from gay homosexual history lessons

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 12:56 AM on 07th March 2009

More than 30 pupils were pulled out of a week of teaching at a primary school which included books about homosexual partnerships.
The controversial content was worked into the curriculum at George Tomlinson School in Waltham Forest, East London.

The council has declared that children who missed the lessons will be viewed as truants.
The ruling means some families could breach rules that children should not be absent for more than 19 days a year.
Sanctions include spot fines, parenting contracts and ultimately court action.

The parents, who objected to the lessons on moral and religious grounds, said the content was more appropriate to secondary age pupils.
Pervez Latif, whose children Saleh, ten, and Abdur-Rahim, nine, attend the school, said he knew of up to 30 withdrawals from the lessons.
The 41-year-old accountant said Christian and Muslim parents had objected to the theme linked to Lesbian ,queer, Bisexual ,Transgender History Month.

‘We as parents did not receive any guidance that this was going to happen,’ he added. ‘There was just a newsletter mentioning the week and that certain themes would be taught.
‘I didn’t want my children to be learning about this. I wrote a letter to the chairman of the governors explaining that I would be taking my children out of school and he wrote back saying that there was no other option.
‘If I am faced with court action, then I will just explain that these are my views. It was also very difficult explaining to my nine- and ten-year-old boys why they were being removed from school.
‘I found it difficult to explain topics such as homosexual relationships at such a young age.’

One story covered in a lesson was King and King, a fairytale about a prince who turns down three princesses before falling in love with one of their brothers.
Another book, And Tango Makes Three, features two male penguins, Roy and Silo, who fall in love at a New York zoo.
Sarah Saeed, 40, took her eight-year-old daughter out of school during the week.

She said: ‘It is not an appropriate age for the children to be learning such matters. We have our own way of explaining things to them and they should not be subjected to this.
‘I was aware they were going to be learning about homosexual relationships through stories.
‘If the council takes action against me I will tell them that I told the school beforehand I would be taking my child away if they did not change their policy.

‘She has a 100 per cent attendance record otherwise. This is the only time and this is the only choice I had.’
Parents have a legal right to withdraw their children from religious education and sex education lessons – apart from science lessons which cover biological reproduction as part of the national curriculum.

A spokesman for Waltham Forest Council said: ‘As part of the borough’s policy of promoting tolerance in our schools, children are taught that everyone in our society is of equal value.
‘At George Tomlinson, parents were invited to meet with teachers and governors several weeks ago to discuss what work would
be taking place throughout the national LGBT History Month and how this work would be delivered.
‘Regrettably, some parents chose to remove their children from school.

‘The council does not condone any unauthorised absence from school and action has been taken.’
Norman Wells, director of the Family Education Trust, said: ‘It is a fundamental principle of education law that children must be educated in accordance with the wishes of their parents.
‘It is outrageous for a school or local authority to think it can ride roughshod over parents and impose lessons upon children that arouse such widespread concerns.

‘The only action that needs to be taken is to offer an apology to the parents concerned.’
George Tomlinson is close to a school which launched a gayvery queer version of Romeo and Juliet called Romeo and Julian – also to mark the alternative history month.

MUSLIMS ON THE MARCH AGAIN AS SCHOOL CAVES …. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?

Shirley gym club claims Muslim parents are forcing it out of school

Croydon Today 07 March 2009
By Neil Millard

A gymnastics club claims it is being forced out of a school because Muslim parents do not want their daughters coming into contact with its male members.

Old Palace School has refused to deny the allegation about a move which has left Shirley Gymnastics Club desperately searching for a new home.

Club boss Colin Perry believes the school’s commitment to multiculturalism has been compromised for fear of offending a minority of mums and dads.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said (...)
http://europenews.dk/en/node/20819

It’s stated in another article that muslims are “very protective of their young girls.” Right.  I do believe that.  Until they reach an age where they are able to make their own decisions.  Then the protection takes on an ugly form sometimes ending in a twisted sense of honor killings.

On the other hand I do have a question.  It’s been many years (a lifetime ago) since I was in school (grammar) and I do not recall being in a gym class with girls.  I’m curious, are gym classes generally mixed these days?  I wouldn’t think young girls would be very comfortable in that set up.

“The school commitment to multiculturalism has been compromised” Well now, surely that has to be a GOOD thing.

Or, are the muslims correct this one and only time?

Yes? No? Comments?

Mixed sex gym club forced to quit all girls’ school over Muslim parents complaints
A gymnastics club has been forced to quit classes at an all girls’ school after Muslim parents complained that they “didn’t want boys in the gym”.

Colin Perry, who runs Shirley Gymnastics Club, said that “multiculturalism” and pressure from Muslim parents on the school’s head has forced him to look for somewhere else to train his 250 young members.

Mr Perry, who has held classes at the Old Palace School – an independent school for girls aged four to 18 years in Croydon – since January last year said he was furious he has to move.

He said: “The school commitment to multiculturalism has been compromised for fear of offending a minority of parents.

“There is a group of Muslim parents with Muslim children at the school and they are the ones putting pressure on the head teacher. It makes me sad to say that.”

The club, which caters for young gymnasts aged between five and 21, has until April 3 to find a new home.

Mr Perry said the school’s head Judy Harris told him that Muslim parents had approached her and asked her why an independent girls schools had boys in the gym while school was still open.

He said: “She said some of the parents have said their children go to an independent all girls school and unfortunately they’re concerned because we have got boys in the club. She said to us that the school has got far more Muslim children than last year, so effectively we have to interpret that in our own way.”

Dudley Mead, a governor at the school, said he knew about Muslim parents’ concerns, adding: “That’s the Muslim belief isn’t it? They are very protective of their female children.”

The school did offer a compromise, that the gym club could stay but start later at 6.30pm, rather than 5pm as at present, by which time pupils will be off the site.

But Mr Perry says this would be impractical as some sessions wouldn’t end until 9.30pm, way too late for many of the club’s young members.

Mrs Harris released a statement in which she said: “We were unable to accommodate the early starting time of the club as the school was still functioning.

“We had hoped that the club could be held at a later time but this was thought unworkable by the organisers.

“It has not been a decision taken lightly but we have to consider the needs of the school and the security of the site given the very young age of our juniors.”

Canada is Nuts

Criminal case fails against Greyhound bus cannibal

A man who beheaded and cannibalised a Canadian bus passenger in front of horrified travellers may go free after being found not guilty of the murder. Vince Weiguang Li, 40, had been charged with murdering 22-year-old Tim McLean on a Canadian Greyhound bus in July 2008.

While Mr McLean slept on the seat next to him, Li had repeatedly stabbed him, sawn off his head, removed his internal organs and pocketed his nose, tongue and an ear before taunting police and terrified passengers with the severed head.

In court documents police said Li “appeared to smell and then eat parts of Tim McLean’s flesh” and “lick blood from his hands,” as they surrounded the bus on a desolate highway 60 miles from Winnipeg, in western Canada, soon after the attack.

Authorities found body parts littered throughout the bus, some in white plastic bags. Mr McLean’s eyes and a third of his heart were also missing, and it is presumed Li ate them, said a pathologist in court files, though Li denies this.

During a three day trial in Manitoba Court, psychiatrists testified that Li suffered from schizophrenia and did not know what he was doing when he killed Mr McLean.  On Thursday Justice John Scurfield , who described the killing as “grotesque” and “appalling,” ruled Li was not criminally responsible for the murder because of his mental disorder.

The ruling means that Li may be released within 90 days after a mental health assessment. Alternatively, he will be treated in a psychiatric hospital.

No you fargin idiots. If you let this whacko off because he’s rotting fruitcake craZy, and he is, then you keep him locked up in the rubber room for ... forever ... because he is a danger to the rest of us.

busy bee

It looks like we’re going to have a day or three of Spring here this weekend. That means my window customers will be clamoring. Money for me, but long hours and lots of work. And I have to fit bowling and my usual weekend cleaning customers in there as well. So I’ve got to get busy now, just getting ready.

Here’s a bit of fun ... maybe. British business minister Madelson was hit with a cup of custard thrown by a protester. hahaha. The woman then walked away, and later gave a statement to the press. He isn’t pressing charges. WRONG APPROACH. Shoot the bitch, Davey. At least have her flogged. Or arrested. It was custard this time, but it could have been acid. Or a bomb. Time to fire his security detail at the very least.

The Dow is dropping like a rock again. Down to 6540 and falling. Did some idiot let Obama speak in public again? Sheez. Odumbo now holds the record for fastest wealth losing president.Wow.

NASA to launch deep space Kepler telescope satellite today. Hope this one goes up better than the CO2 one they pranged last week.

Misdirection from the media: No, no, no, you’ve got it wrong! Obama is a centrist! My ass.

Oh well ... another day ... off to work.

Democrats don’t like freedom

image

There you go. 24 states have at least a relative amount of freedom, 26 do not. Given these levels, as a country, the greater number of people who vote Democrat, the less freedom there is in that state. Period. It’s almost linear. When you get to a Democrat majority, there are only 3 states left that enjoy that relative amount of freedom. Only 3.

George Mason University has put together a highly interesting study. Please go and read the rest. Look at the graphs and understand them: they gathered all sorts of data, grouped them into the categories of Paternalism, Fiscal Policy, and Regulatory Policy, and gave each one a reasonable weighting. They even put the data up online in spreadsheet format, so if you think they missed something you can add your own categories and adjust the weights. But I think they’ve covered just about all of it.

There are NO states that have that relative amount of freedom when 52% of the citizens or more vote Democrat. As the graph shows, those states have considerably less freedom.

I added the colored lines to their graph. Any data point bisected by the horizontal zero line counts as being below that line. Any data point bisected by one of the vertical vote percentage lines counts as being to the left of that line.

The raw data and some of the other graphs will show you that New York is the least free state in the nation, followed by New Jersey, California, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Illinois. Guess which party controls those states? The most free states are Colorado and New Hampshire, followed in no particular order by Texas, Montana, Indiana, and South Dakota. Alaska and Maine are high in Personal Freedom, but not so great in Economic Freedom.

OH HOW ATTITUDES AND MANNERS HAVE CHANGED. AND NOT FOR THE BETTER.

I’m sitting here in the frustrating middle of history that goes back a thousand years and more.
My interest lately though has been WW2 but specifically a group of women super women who were Brit nurses during that time.

I’m going to write a bit about these bigger then life awesome ladies who were members of something called the “QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S IMPERIAL MILITARY NURSING SERVICE.” It was formed in 1902.  They were simply referred to as, QA’s.
I want to share just a fraction of their story but not here, not now.  There is a book about them called Sisters in Arms, and I can’t see anyone reading it without becoming wound up with and admiring of them.

The training these women went through way back when was by todays standards, brutal.  It was humiliating and it was rough and only the very strong made the grade.  But they were first class nurses and first class ladies every one. AND ....  there isn’t any record where any one of them ever even thought about suing their employer with one of the charges being .....  “hurt feelings.” Not that generation.

Not a great transition but reading about their training back in the 30’s and then reading a story today about;

Sacked paperboy claims £8,000 compensation from newsagent

Part of his claim is for ... “Hurt Feelings.” What a message today’s generation is receiving.  Protection against hurt feelings after being fired is a human right now I guess.  It’s sickening and especially after blazing my way through 300 pages of the history of a group of women who btw, were not street smart to begin with.  Hurt feelings?  What a con.

I don’t know if this kid is really being truthful or not.  My guess is no and when you see the article you’ll see why.  I find it hard to believe that the newsagent would think to make up the story that the kid’s dad says isn’t true.

Daddy and Son lost the case (good) but it may go to appeal. (bad)

Please stay with me for one other thing before I post the article.  I got this first hand from the guy who owns the laundry service we sometimes use.
This is just to show you how decadent and stupid this place has become.  Common sense is totally out the window.

He caught one of his employees dipping into the til after a number of days showing shortages in the register.  Well, as you would expect, he canned her.
But she went to a tribunal and he had to pay her for wrongful dismissal because ..........
HE DID NOT PUT HIS REASON FOR CANNING HER IN WRITING AT THE TIME HE FIRED HER!  The system is rotten and a disgrace to that generation who gave of themselves to secure the future of this country.

Sacked paperboy claims £8,000 compensation from newsagent
A paperboy who was sacked for being “unreliable” took the newsagent to an employment tribunal claiming £8,000 for unfair dismissal.

Myles Bebbington, 15, earned £20 a week delivering daily newspapers around the village of Sturry, near Canterbury, Kent, for two years.

When he asked for his round to be extended, he was allegedly told he would have to start at 6.30am and his mother Denise objected to his employer Jackie Palmer.

Myles was dismissed a few days later in August last year on the grounds that he was late, lacked motivation, posted papers through the wrong doors and failed to find cover when he was ill.

Mrs Palmer, who runs Sturry News, also said that his bicycle kept breaking which also made him unreliable.

Myles’ family launched an £8,000 claim for loss of earnings, aggravated damages, injury to his feelings alleging statutory procedures were not followed.

But the case collapsed after the tribunal in Ashford ruled paperboys like Miles were “temporary staff” and cannot legally claim unfair dismissal.

His father Mark, who represented him at the hearing and whose four other sons had worked as paperboys, said: “He’s worked there for two years, delivering papers in rain, wind and snow.

“Our claim was for £8,000, but all I really wanted was an apology, and for them to admit that we should not treat boys like that.”

Mrs Palmer said Myles had informed her he was “fed up” and had not told his parents that she had had to warn him about being late.

Robert Salter, the tribunal chairman, ruled Myles was not employed under a contract of service so unable to pursue a claim for unfair dismissal or age discrimination.

But Carolyn Hamilton, director of The Children’s Legal Centre, said: “There is no doubt Myles was an employee and I think he has a case which needs challenging in court.”

NEWSBOY

I had a newspaper route when I was a kid.  In CT. You know what winters could be like there?
And I can tell you I was younger then 15 and up and dressed by 5:30am. No foolin.’ Jeesh ....

Somali pirates with rocket launchers attack cruise ship, Saved by U.S.Navy!

Terror for 1,200 Britons as Somali pirates with rocket launchers attack cruise ship

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 11:34 AM on 05th March 2009

More than 1,200 British holidaymakers on a round-the-world cruise came under a terrifying attack from pirates armed with rocket launchers.

The 715ft-long Balmoral came under fire four times from Somali bandits, a crew member said.

The 43,000-ton cruise ship was forced to zigzag violently to evade its pursuers as the pirates gave chase in two small craft in the notoriously dangerous waters off Somalia.

image

One crew member said in e-mails to her boyfriend back in Britain that the pirates circled the ship and came within 400 yards of the cruise ship, The Sun reported.

‘I stood on the deck and watched through binoculars at men in the fishing boat armed with AK-47 rifles and rocket launchers,’ she said.

‘People were all over the place and everyone was in tears.

‘We could hear shooting. It started following us and we had to call the US Navy.’

Many of the passengers ‘were in tears and frightened to death’, she added.

The alert was raised on Tuesday morning when the boats appeared out of nowhere and closed in rapidly.

Alarmed by the ‘suspicious’ activity of the unidentified craft, the Balmoral’s crew made emergency calls, holiday firm Fred Olsen Cruise Lines said today.

They also sent up distress flares and the ship’s staff toted fake ‘guns’ made out of pieces of wood, hoping the pirates would be deterred if crew appeared to be armed, according to reports.

Killers go to jail.  Killers set free.  Killers kill again. ( do ya wonder I’m dizzy with it all?)

I read stuff like this and come unglued every time.  I think they (newspapers) maybe do it just to annoy me.

I just can not understand ppl who are against the death penalty where there is clear evidence of guilt.  I don’t mean yeah maybe he/she did it.
I mean like caught on camera or caught in the act.

It just seems like a never ending story.  Oh dear me, jails are full so lets release a few killers.  They gave their word they’d be nice from now on.
Some thug with a looooooooooooong record of violent crime gets caught again and gets out early because he’s a model prisoner or whatever.

I sometimes hear some of these dreamy folks on interviews talking about rehab.  And how wrong it is to take a life blah, blah.
It never occurs to these folks living on a fluffy cloud just how off kilter their arguments are.  And btw, why on earth give violent criminals chance after chance when the evidence is clear what they’re made of?  Some people really are evil.  Like this sickening individual.  Why should he not have been terminated at the first sign of what he is.  But no.

I wonder if the way it actually works is like this.
Guy is violent but soft culture wants to help him and give him a break.  So ... the authorities come up with a magic victim figure.  They say, okay. So Mr. Monster attacked this girl (or boy or anyone for any one of various crimes) but it’s only his first offense.  Lets not lock him up until he’s attacked victim number ... hey, anyone have a favorite or a lucky number?  Come on, we need a number.  Five?  Fine. Five it is.
So when Mr.Monster does in his 5th vic. then we’ll have a serious talk with him and maybe even punish him.  But we let him have five.
Done.

Hey people ... crowded jails?  Solution.  The rope, the chair, the gas chamber.  If the crime was vicious enough, all three. No regrets.

Scores of killers released from life sentences have gone on to commit serious crimes over the past decade, including murder and rape, the Government has admitted.

By Christopher Hope, Whitehall Editor
Last Updated: 7:14AM GMT 05 Mar 2009

Stephen Ayre, photo here , 45, was convicted of raping a 10 month-old boy in 2006 after being given parole on a life sentence for the murder of a woman in West Yorkshire in 1984.

Mandatory life sentences are only given to offenders convicted of murder. However hundreds of convicted killers have been released over the past decade.

Ministry of Justice figures show that, since 1997, 65 prisoners who were released after serving a mandatory life sentences were recalled and found guilty of a further offence.

The offences include two murders, a suspected murder, one attempted murder, three rapes and two instances of grievous bodily harm.

Other offences committed by prisoners released on life licence include burglary, robbery, drugs and firearms offences, threats to kill, indecent assault and violence against the person.

In one instance, Glyn Dix received a life sentence in the 1970s for shooting dead Pia Overbury. He was in prison at least as late as 1999 when he met his wife.

After his release he murdered her in a row over what to watch on television and cut her body into 16 pieces with a hacksaw and scissors.

In another case, Stephen Ayre, 45, was convicted of raping a 10 month-old boy in 2006 after being given parole on a life sentence for the murder of a woman in West Yorkshire in 1984.

Both criminals were sent back to prison for life on an indeterminate sentence.

Edward Garnier, shadow justice minister, said: “Life-sentenced prisoners should not be released where there is a dangerous of further serious offending, and those who are judged suitable for release should be subject to the utmost supervision for the rest of their lives.”

Last year it emerged that more than 300 murderers, rapists and other serious offenders who had been handed life sentences were already back on the streets.

A total of 304 criminals jailed since January 1997 served fewer than 10 years despite being handed the maximum term, the Ministry of Justice admitted yesterday.

In most cases, the courts would have set a minimum tariff of fewer than 10 years for the sentence. The Parole Board would subsequently have agreed to release them.

I honestly get the feeling that while the conversations relating to these monsters goes on among the people who decide these things, NONE of them are thinking about the public at large.  They can’t be.  Or they would say screw the EU, bring back the rope.

Dubya vs. B.O.

Now, I’ve problems with George W. Bush, mostly in domestic spending. But I will say this: I’d have been proud to have him as my Commander-in-Chief. He did very well in that regard. Next, we turn to the current Coward-in-Chief, B. Hussein Obama, who never did ANY military service at all. I understand that the military is increasingly demanding that he prove he’s even eligible to be President...as in being a native born citizen.

However that proves out, I spent six years on active duty defending my country against people like B.O. In my book, Obama is a domestic enemy of the Constitution.

WHY MEN DON’T WRITE ADVICE COLUMNS …..correction..(Why they write better advice columns.)

I warned my buddy, LTC flapjawman, that I would post this after I finished laughing…

oh no!… not again!… BWHAHAHAHEHEhehe…

Dear Walter,

I hope you can help me here. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn’t driven more than a mile down the road when the engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband’s help. When I got home I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbors ‘daughter. I’m 32, my husband is 34, and the neighbors’ daughter is 22. We have been married for ten years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I’d leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won’t go to counseling and I’m afraid I can’t get through to him anymore. Can you please help?
Sincerely,
Sheila

Dear Sheila:

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it’s clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors.

I hope this helps,
WALTER

Is it just me and WALTER? Or doesn’t the lady understand ANYTHING about automobiles?

Sir Edward of Tanqueray

batBrits Give Teddy Kennedy Knighthoodbat

image

Senator-for-life Kennedy meets with Gerry Adams of Sinn Fein, 1996

Veteran U.S. senator Edward Kennedy is to be awarded an honorary knighthood in a move which drew immediate condemnation from Conservative MPs. The Queen has agreed to the honour for the 77-year-old Democrat - brother of assassinated U.S. president John F Kennedy - for services to the British-American relationship and to Northern Ireland, Downing Street said.

Gordon Brown will announce the award formally during his address to both houses of Congress today. But the decision to honour a man closely linked to the Irish Republican movement astonished Tory MPs.

One frontbencher said: ‘I don’t think it’s appropriate. He hardly had the British interests at heart.’

LONDON – He won’t be allowed to call himself Sir Ted, but U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy is being awarded an honorary knighthood from Britain.

The government said Wednesday the Massachusetts senator is being recognized for services to U.S.-U.K. relations and to Northern Ireland.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown will announce the honor Wednesday when he addresses a joint session of Congress in Washington. Knighthoods are bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II but recipients are selected by the government or an advisory committee.

Kennedy, scion of an Irish-American political dynasty, is known in Britain for his involvement in the long process that led to Northern Ireland’s 1998 Good Friday peace accord.

The 77-year-old brother of the late President John F. Kennedy has served in the Senate since 1962. He is being treated for a brain tumor.

Other Americans to receive honorary knighthoods include Microsoft chief Bill Gates, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Unlike British knights, they are not entitled to use the honorific “Sir” or “Dame” before their names.

puke  wtf  I simply do not understand the English any more. Not one of these people deserves such an honor, not even Rudy. I gather knighthoods, like OBEs, are just tossed about like candy these days. They mean nothing. And that’s a damn shame ... my subconscious assumption has always been that England would always and forever be the keeper of Proper Traditions and Honors. Such is not the case any more. And that’s sad.

It was a tragic circus, a festival of ignorance that confirmed the No. 1 obstacle to Detroit’s progress is the bargain basement leaders that city voters elect. The black nationalism that is now the dominant ideology of the council was on proud display, both at the table and in the audience.

Speakers advocating for the deal were taunted by the crowd and cut short by Council President Monica Conyers, who presided over the hearing like an angry bulldog; whites were advised by the citizens to, “Go home.”

Over There, Over There

Current economic condition in the EU. Click on a country and see.

I wish they had one of these for Central and South America, Canada, and the Near and Far East.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
