Of Course I’m Better Than You

It will come as no surprise to anyone reading this that the GoreBot thinks he is superior to everyone and deserves special treatment, but the US Senate is growing weary of his attitude.

Al Gore Continues to Demand Special Treatment

Gore first demanded to be granted an unprecedented 30 minute opening statement to the Senate EPW Committee for Wednesday’s (March 21) global warming hearing scheduled for 2:30 pm ET.

The GOP minority on the EPW committee agreed to the 30 minute opening statement.

But then Gore demanded a waiver of the EPW committee’s 48 hour rule that requires all witnesses before EPW to submit their testimony in advance. The GOP minority on the EPW committee then agreed to waive the 48 hour rule in favor of allowing Gore to submit his testimony 24 hours before the hearing.

But in a breaking news development on Capitol Hill—the former Vice President has violated the new 24 hour deadline extension by failing to submit his testimony – even with the new time extension granted to Gore.

As of 8pm ET Tuesday evening, the testimony still has not been received by EPW, a clear violation of committee rules.

The word on Capitol Hill says not to expect Gore’s testimony to the Senate EPW committee until Wednesday (March 21)—the day of the hearing.

It appears that Gore does not believe the same rules apply to him that apply to every other Senate EPW witness.

The question looms on Capitol Hill: Is Gore delaying the submission of his testimony until the very last moment because he fears it will give members of the EPW committee time to scrutinize it for accuracy?

There’s no chance that Lurch would find someone doube-checking his facts a bit too passe, would it?

WASHINGTON—Suspected members of extremist groups have signed up as school-bus drivers in the United States, counterterror officials said yesterday in a cautionary bulletin to police. But an FBI spokesman said, “Parents and children have nothing to fear.”

Well, I feel better now that I know I have nothing to fear.

AS EVERY CARBON-BASED life form on this planet surely knows, Barack Obama, the junior Democratic senator from Illinois, is running for president. Since making his announcement, there has been no end of commentary about him in all quarters — musing over his charisma and the prospect he offers of being the first African American to be elected to the White House.

But it’s clear that Obama also is running for an equally important unelected office, in the province of the popular imagination — the “Magic Negro.”

Good grief.  How many more months until the election?

You’ve Got To Be Cruel To Be Kind

When can you prove your a true “Animal Lover”?  Why, when you call for their euthanizing, of course.

Meet Knut, a polar bear whose mother abandon him.

Tiny, fluffy and adorable, Knut the baby polar bear became an animal superstar after he was abandoned by his mother.

He rapidly became the symbol of Berlin Zoo, whose staff bottle-fed him and handed out cuddles in between

At three months old, however, the playful 19lb bundle of fur is at the centre of an impassioned debate over whether he should live or die.

Animal rights activists argue that he should be given a lethal injection rather than brought up suffering the humiliation of being treated as a domestic pet.

”The zoo must kill the bear,” said spokesman Frank Albrecht. “Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws.”

So you see kids, in the upside-down, topsy-turvy world of an animal activist, the best way to protect the little buggers is to kill them.  Thatisall.

Power Food

Hmmm.  Deep Fried, Bacon-Wrapped, Cheese-Filled Hot Dogs.  What could be better?

BACON, CHEESE AND BEER DOG

Ingredients:
1 hot dog
1 slice of thick-cut bacon
1 can of spray cheese
1 can beer (It doesn’t matter what kind, but we recommend something dark. Corona probably isn’t a good idea)
1 cup flour
Oil for frying

Instructions:
This one is a little work-intensive, so be ready to buckle down. First take the center out of the hot dog with an apple corer, if you have access to one. If not, just cut out the middle with a knife. Fill the cavity with the spray cheese and use the hot dog you removed from the middle as a cap to keep the cheese in. Wrap the bacon around the hot dog and deep-fry for two to four minutes or until bacon is cooked. Dab them dry with a paper towel (so the batter will stick). Mix the beer with the flour until it reaches a thick, but lump-free consistency. Dip the dogs in the batter, coating the dog completely, and deep-fry on high heat for two to three minutes or until brown and deadly.
NOTE: Don’t fry them too long or all of the cheese will explode out into the oil. That’s very bad.

This is outstanding.  An Anti-Hildebeast, Pro Obama ad on YouTube that has everyone a-twitter.

And Obama’s campaign says it had absolutely nothing to do with the video that attacks one of his principal Democratic rivals, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Indeed, the ad’s creator is a mystery, at least for now.

The compelling “Hillary 1984” video recently introduced on YouTube represents “a new era, a new wave of politics ... because it’s not about Obama,” said Peter Leyden, director of the New Politics Institute, a San Francisco-based think tank on politics and new media. “It’s about the end of the broadcast era.”

Nail. Coffin. Some Assembly Required

In my day job, I’m paid to ask the hard questions to make sure things are thought through fully.  So when I read James’ post, I was overwhelmed with the amazing simplicity of the argument and the vast amount of hype and vapors it will undoubtedly create.

Here’s an excerpt:

It is already painfully clear that models of anthropogenic global warming are ridiculously inadequate, and do not meet the basic tests of experimental science, no matter how many “scientists” yell “consensus.” Now comes a serious question from a serious scientist that threatens to undermine the fundamental premise of the alarmists.

Danish physicist Bjarne Andresen has raised the interesting point that there may be no global warming, because there is no such thing as global temperature! That is because the earth atmosphere is not a homogeneous system. It’s not a glass lab jar in your high school physics lab

The rational arguments against glowball warming seem to be coming in rapidly these days.  You think this thing will die gracefully, or are we in for a quagmire?

After Action Report

Here’s a good report from our friend CWO about the “Gathering of Eagles” counter-protest in DC. 

I was proud to attend today’s “Gathering of Eagles” (GOE) counter-protest to the large anti-war march to the Pentagon and was pleased find the attendance by many loyal veterans and Americans. Those carrying American flags and backing our men and women in uniform arrived and participated in very large numbers. I was impressed and pleased.

The dingbats were also in very large numbers and behaved shamefully. They didn’t do so without direct, loud and clear commentary from the assembled patriotic souls and faced a sea of American flags flying stiffly in the cold wind. The “moonbat” crowd did shameful things to the few American flags that they had - including altering the to stars and replacing them with dishonorable symbols and later - dragging the American flag on the ground.

The voices and messages of those of us flying the American flag with pride were numerous, loud and gave absolutely no quarter. I was proud to raise my voice with them. The event began with the dingbat anti-war protesters assembled near the State Department giving their shrill speeches.

Go thee hence and partake of the event by proxy

With the seemingly relentless march towards Dhimmitude that the Euopeans are on, it was good to see someone with some gonads taking a stand.

Council saves piggies’ bacon
THE Three Little Pigs WILL star in a Huddersfield show.

Organisers of a children’s concert have given the go-ahead for the three little pigs to appear after they were banned because of fears they might offend Muslims.

Honley C of E Junior School pupils were to perform the Roald Dahl story of Little Red Riding Hood and the pigs - but were told to substitute puppies.

Now a senior Kirklees councillor has insisted that the little pigs should be reinstated in the show.

Education chairman Clr Jim Dodds stepped in to reprieve the pigs, describing the ban as barmy.

Good for them.

Plagued

Sorry about the lack of posting this weekend.  Real life took precedence. We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon driving the byways of the Shenandoah Valley though.

I have a few stories in the hopper and will post them as soon as possible.

Feel free to use this as an open thread about weekend activities.  Is it spring yet where you are?  We had a taste of it last week with temps in the 70’s, then it snowed on Friday   March drives me insane.

Paranoid or Prepared?

The Mrs. has an excellent article about the difference.

How prepared is prepared enough and at what point does someone cross the line from being a responsible gun owner to some sort of stereotype.  Are you prepared or paranoid to the extent of being delusional?

I also read Jim Rawles’ Survival Blog and find it very interesting to contrast the different mindsets Mrs. DuToit lays out.  I consider myself modestly prepared.  The ice-storm that hit us a few weeks ago was a good test of our preparedness as we were without utilities for about three days in below-freezing tempuratures.  Now that we see where our weaknesses are, even for a major storm and not “the end of the world as we know it”, we can shore them up and make our homestead a little more solid.

How about you?  Where do you stand on the preparedness scale?
