Farrakhan In Cuba

What do Jimmy Carter, Dan Rather and Louis Farrakhan have in common? A deep and abiding love for Fidel Castro and communist oppression. All three carefully ignore the Cuban prisons full of political dissidents and the virtual police state that Castro runs.

Farrakhan also proves how stupid he is by going to Cuba to learn how to survive a hurricane, claiming Cuba has not lost any lives to hurricanes. He conveniently ignores the 16 killed in Cuba by Hurricane Dennis in 2005 or the 1,000+ Cubans killed by Hurricane Flora in 1963 or the Hurricane Of Santa Cruz in 1932 that killed over 3,000 Cubans.

Then again, Farrakhan has never been known to be very bright. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he was the one who started spreading the rumor that the government had blown up the levees in New Orleans with explosives in order to kill black people. With any luck, Castro will keep him. The commie dictator and the head of the Nation Of Islam should get along very well ....

HAVANA (Reuters)

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is visiting communist Cuba to learn about disaster relief, a visit prompted by the failure of the U.S. government to cope with Hurricane Katrina, he said on Monday.

The controversial Nation of Islam leader, who is visiting Cuba for a week, criticized Washington for refusing a Cuban offer to send doctors after Katrina devastated New Orleans last August, flooding neighborhoods mainly populated by blacks and the impoverished.

“After Hurricane Katrina and the failure of federal and state government, we felt it was our duty to come to Cuba to learn disaster management from the Cuban people who have had many hurricanes and have not lost lives,” he said.

Spring Has Been Postponed

Here we go again with more of that glowball warming crap. I got up a little after midnight to get a glass of water and just happened to glance out the kitchen window at the parking lot behind my apartment. My Jeep is covered in white crap and the entire ground around my apartment is about three inches deep in the stuff ... and it’s still coming down in big flakes. Temperature outside now is 21 degrees fahrenheit. This glowball warming better stop soon or I’m gonna freeze to death ....

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A powerful storm dumped more than a foot of snow in the Plains, closing schools and roads and forcing residents to man shovels Monday during the first day of spring. Hundreds of schools were closed in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and South Dakota, and at least five deaths were blamed on the storm. Spring officially began at 1:26 p.m. EST.

Myron Williams, who raises livestock near Wall, was busy shoveling a foot of snow from gates and feedlots on his property. The rancher said the work was hard but the precipitation was welcome. The National Weather Service was still compiling snowfall totals Monday, but parts of South Dakota and Nebraska got up to 18 inches. Northeast Colorado had at least a foot, northwest Kansas had up to 10 inches, and parts of the Oklahoma Panhandle got half a foot.

“We could be looking at over 20 inches by the time this is done,” said Kyle Carstens, a meteorologist with the weather service’s Rapid City office. Several stretches of Interstate 80 were closed in Nebraska, the State Patrol said. Parts of Interstate 70 were closed in western Kansas, and in Colorado more than 150 miles of the highway were shut down.

The Art Of War

You know .... things used to be different in America. When people jumped on us, we joined together in common cause, suffered rationing and privation on the home front and the loss of fine young men on the war front. Men and women of all races banded together to do whatever needed to be done.

We held steadfast against all who would hurt us and we beat off those who would enslave us, forcing them to surrender unconditionally and promise to sit down, STFU and leave us alone from then on. Then we helped them back up off the ground, patted them on the back and became friends again. Like I said .... things used to be different in America ....

imageimageMuslim Imam: Dry Out Sex Organs Of Jews
March 20, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern

(WORLDNET DAILY)

The bird-flu virus found in Israel last week was sent by Allah to punish the Jews for being “the worst of humanity” and is the beginning of the outbreak of other diseases meant to destroy the Jewish state within the next twenty years, a Gaza preacher said at mosque services this weekend.

Sheikh Abu Muhammed, an imam at the popular Al-Tadwa mosque in Beit Lahia north of Gaza City, went on to ask Muslims at his Friday night sermon to pray for the sexual organs of Jews to “dry out” so they cannot reproduce, a Palestinian in attendance at the mosque services told WorldNetDaily.

“Praise Allah the bird flu has hit the Jews. It came because of their sins against the Palestinians; because they are the most cruel enemy of humanity; because they are themselves the enemy of humanity; because they don’t believe in Allah; because they falsify the book of Allah; because they cheated the prophet Muhammed; and because they cheated Allah and even their own prophet, Moses,” Sheikh Muhammed was quoted as saying.

“This bird flu will be the beginning of diseases which will hit the nonbelievers. Please Allah keep hitting the enemy with more diseases. This is no doubt the beginning of the end of the Israelis. Like [late Hamas spiritual leader] Sheikh Yassin said, 2025 will be the end of Jews. This [bird flu] is the sign,” said Sheikh Muhammed, according to congregants.

Yassin, who was assassinated by Israel in March, 2004, told followers he used Quranic verse to divine Israel would be destroyed by the year 2025.In his mosque speech, Sheikh Muhammed reportedly went on to explain Allah decided to “hit the Israelis with birds,” since birds are mentioned in the Quran as a tool used to defeat infidels.

He asked for congregants to “pray for Allah to dry out the sexual organs of the Jews with a disease so they won’t be able to reproduce anymore."Muhammed made his comments in spite of predictions the virus found in Israel may surface through migrating fowl in the nearby Palestinian territories.

- There’s even more from this joker here ...

Sex, Drugs And … Tech Support

It had to happen sooner or later. No line of communication is one-way (unless you’re a Liberal or a Democrat and then you hear and see nothing that disagrees with you - but that’s another story for another day). No, the communication I’m referring to is the open lines to tech support in India. This is where Ramachandrakumar Sathiapatchouligonzo is sitting at his neat desk in a neat little cubicle farm pretending to be someone named “Stephen Johnson”.

“Stephen” is being very glad to assist you in solving your problems with your very, very excellent credit account or your well-constructed but uncooperative computer. He will do anything to make you happy, including listen quietly while you cuss him out and call him vile names. This is because he knows that, as a devout Hindu, in his next recincarnation he will be reborn as a handsome dog while you, in your ignorance, will be reincarnated as a fire hydrant.

For now though, “Stephen” and his friends have a problem. The line of communication is working both ways and they are starting to pick up evil Western (Liberal) habits like wild sex and drugs. Next thing you know, they’ll be listening to awful rock ‘n’ roll music. Excellent! Our next target in “Operation Decadence” will be the Chinese. Stay tuned ....

imageimageIndia’s Call-Centre Staff Tune In To Decadence
March 19, 2006

DELHI, India (LONDON TIMES)

They are the young faces and polite voices of India’s economic boom but the country’s growing number of call centre staff handling British and American customer inquiries have a guilty secret. According to senior police officers and pollsters they are also leading a social revolution against traditional Indian values by having extramarital affairs and taking party drugs.

A survey found that one in five of those questioned had had a workplace affair and that the majority of those were married. In another recent poll one in four call centre staff said they regularly had casual affairs. The figures present a serious challenge to traditional social conservatism. The revolution is unfolding in India’s high-tech cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, Madras and Chandigarh, where young well paid graduates and newlyweds work long night shifts.

More than 30 large British companies, including Lloyds TSB and Norwich Union, use Indian call centres to handle customer inquiries. According to insiders the centres are generating a work-hard, play-hard culture where liberal attitudes to sex and club drugs are thriving. The staff work under high pressure and are rewarded with “team-building” parties. One of India’s most senior police officers said the western companies behind the call centres were causing a breakdown in the fabric of Indian family life.

“The companies should insist on certain standards,” said Shankar Rao, deputy commissioner of Delhi police. “I want to make sure these call centres do not become dens of evil. “There should be counselling available to make sure the staff live in conformity with society, and not indulging in drugs and sex. They should make sure they do not work more than three nights a week. It’s causing mischief.”

Sticks And Stones

President Bush called North Korea a “member of an axis of evil”. Outraged, the Koreans responded by calling America a “ringleader of evil”. Responding to the North Koreans, the US State Department sent a reply to Pyongyang stating, “Yo momma wears combat sandals”. Infuriated, the North Koreans responded with ....

Don’t worry, folks. It’s called diplomacy ....

imageimageN. Korea Rips Bush for ‘Evil’ Repetition
March 20, 2006, 8:40 AM EST

SEOUL, South Korea (AP)

North Korea berated President Bush on Monday for repeating his earlier description of the communist state as part of an “axis of evil,” saying it shows the United States intends to attack it. In his 2002 State of the Union address, Bush lumped North Korea with Iran and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq in an “axis of evil” that was seeking weapons of mass destruction.

On March 10, Bush brought up the description again. “I said in an early speech there was an axis of evil, and it included Iran and North Korea. I did that because I’m concerned about totalitarian governments that are not transparent, that have stated their intentions to develop nuclear weapons,” he said.

North Korea’s communist party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, responded on Monday by calling the United States the “ringleader of evil,” saying its war on terror had resulted in massacres of people. The newspaper, in a commentary carried by the official Korean Central News Agency, called Bush’s comment “the greatest, intolerable insult to us and a vicious political provocation.”

“Bush repeating the axis of evil remarks is nothing but an open proclamation that the U.S. imperialists consider us a target of military attack, not a dialogue partner,” it said. North Korea often uses harsh language to vilify the U.S. and its leaders, but doesn’t tolerate criticism from Washington.

The North strongly protested when U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice labeled the communist nation an “outpost of tyranny” in her confirmation hearing last year. North Korea says those descriptions by top U.S. officials show Washington’s “hostility,” which it calls the main obstacle to resolving a standoff over its nuclear programs.

Six countries—China, Japan, the two Koreas, Russia and the United States—have held five rounds of talks to try to settle the dispute. The meetings produced an interim breakthrough in September, when the North agreed in principle to abandon its nuclear programs. But talks on implementing that agreement have stalled.

The Taxman

In 1966, George Harrison of the Beatles (R.I.P.) got completely fed up with the high tax rates in Britain and penned a great song, slamming the British tax system. It’s a good thing George has passed away or else the recent tax rates in Jolly Ol’ England would require an entire album from the Fab Four ....

Let me tell you how it will be;
There’s one for you, nineteen for me.
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.

Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don’t take it all.
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.

(if you drive a car, car;) - I’ll tax the street;
(if you try to sit, sit;) - I’ll tax your seat;
(if you get too cold, cold;) - I’ll tax the heat;
(if you take a walk, walk;) - I’ll tax your feet.

Taxman!

‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.

And you’re working for no one but me.  tune

imageimageTaxes Hit All-Time High
March 19, 2006

(LONDON TIMES)

Gordon Brown is about to raise Britain’s tax burden to its highest-ever level, raking in nearly £1m a minute. An analysis by the accountants Ernst & Young, based on the Treasury’s own figures, shows the chancellor will match the record high for the tax burden this year and rise above it next year. That means it will be higher than in the 1970s under Denis Healey, when the top rate of income tax was 83%, and the early 1980s, when it was 60%.

Brown will unveil his 10th budget on Wednesday, which Treasury sources say will be an exercise in “consolidation”. The Ernst & Young analysis shows that the tax burden excluding North Sea oil revenues, the best measure of the load faced by families and businesses, will be 37.6% of gross domestic product this year, close to the 37.7% peak reached in the early 1980s. Next year it will reach 37.8%, before rising to 38.1%.

“It’s an all-time high and we’re entering uncharted waters,” said Peter Spencer, economic adviser to the Ernst & Young Item Club, a forecasting group. “We know higher taxes help explain what is happening on Britain’s high streets.” Treasury figures show tax revenues will total £490 billion this year, up from £271 billion when Brown took office. The £219 billion rise is equivalent to £9,000 for every household in Britain.

Under Brown the number of people paying higher rate tax has risen from just over 2m to 3.5m, according to Office for National Statistics data. By the end of this parliament it will have risen to 4m, experts say. “If he stays at the Treasury, he’ll have doubled the number of higher rate taxpayers,” said Mike Warburton of Grant Thornton, the accountants. The total number of income tax payers has risen by 3.5m to 29.2m since 1997, outstripping the rise in the number of people in jobs. The number of estates subject to inheritance tax has also risen from 15,000 to 35,000 a year.

“After nine years of Gordon Brown and 10 budgets this will be his legacy, the highest tax burden ever,” said George Osborne, shadow chancellor. Calculations by Patrick Minford, of Cardiff Business School, show that — including Vat, excise duties, National Insurance and income tax — a basic rate taxpayer pays £48.50 in tax on every £100 earned. Among higher rate taxpayers the figure is £57.10. “People are starting to wake up to the fact Britain is a high tax country,” said Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the Taxpayers’ Alliance.

Businesses are also facing higher taxes. Newly released official figures show the corporation tax bill of Britain’s small companies has more than doubled in five years, rising from £4.4 billion to an estimated £9.5 billion. “The thing I hear from all quarters is that it is not just that they’re taking it off you, it’s that when they do they haven’t spent it wisely,” said Sir Digby Jones, CBI director-general.

The poor performance of the National Health Service, despite tens of billions of extra funding, is in the spotlight, with hospitals cutting staff and cancelling operations because of financial deficits. The Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, in its latest survey of Britain’s economy, said improvements in public services were proving “slow to come” despite the big injection of extra spending.

A Tory party analysis suggests government debt, including public sector pension liabilities, is more than £1,500 billion, or 127% of GDP, compared with the £442 billion, or less than 40% of GDP, claimed by ministers.

Let us now observe a moment of silence as we watch the greatest empire ever to grace the earth slowly and agonizingly sink beneath the waves it once ruled, a victim of socialism and unparalleled stupidity on the part of a Liberal government. Sic transit gloria munde.

Requiem

imageimageThis morning I woke up to the realization that I had survived another year on this planet and could safely put the 57th notch on my life-counter. Will there be a 58th? Who knows. None of us really knows when our number will come up in the great lottery of cheating death day after day.

Putting aside momentary thoughts about my own mortality, I started looking around the web to see what was going on while I slept. Almost immediately I came across a link from Drudge to an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about Cindy Sheehan by staff writer Vicki Haddock.

Fully expecting to read another anti-war diatribe from another San Fran-critter, I started reading. Sure enough, there was news about an upcoming media blitz revolving around Ms. Sheehan, including a movie about her starring anti-war activist Susan Sarandon ...

She’s averaging just two days per month [at home]. The next morning she will fly off again, the surreal star of what is—depending largely on one’s political perspective—either an epic tragedy or a farce. After stops for protests in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., she will breakfast in Manhattan with actress Susan Sarandon, who is set to portray her in a biopic movie. A crew will film Sheehan for a weekly reality series on the Sundance Channel.

Her letters to President Bush inspired “Peace Mom,” a one-woman monologue show in London. A memoir is due to her publisher April 1. And she hopes to reschedule a trip to address the European Union, postponed, she says, because of injuries when she was arrested yet again and jailed earlier this month on charges of blocking entrance to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

Thoroughly intrigued by the phrase “depending on one’s political perspective”, I decided to read further. The article goes on to explore not only Ms. Sheehan’s rise to “fame” but also the psychological impact it may be having on her. I have to admit I lost all respect for the woman a long time ago. At first, I felt sorry for her for the loss of her son but then after a while things got real squirrely as described in the article ...

Sheehan’s image rose and fell on her willingness to publicize personal pain. A January Vanity Fair spread featured a photo of Cindy Sheehan, eyes closed, lying on her son’s grave: National Review columnist Jonah Goldberg suggested it was “the most shameless, exploitative stunt of the decade.”

“These plainclothes celebrities become spotlight addicts. The lows of being out of the news cycle make them crave it all over again. So they ratchet up the zealot factor,” said Matthew Fell, media director of the Center for Media and Public Affairs. “Cindy Sheehan went from letting her picture be taken, to posing, to mugging. She’s become a caricature of herself.”

The picture in Vanity Fair really went over the top, as far as I was concerned.  If you must see the picture, it’s here in this WorldNet Daily editorial from December, 2005. When I first heard about the photo and saw it, I had to just sit back and take a deep breath. I cannot describe the feelings that went through me ... except one. I felt extreme and complete shame and pity for Ms. Sheehan. Not for the loss of her son but for the loss of her sanity and dignity.

The article then goes on to explore Ms. Sheehan’c current state and how she is reacting to the sudden media spotlight followed by the subsequent disappearance of support for her cause as more and more people reacted negatively to her increasingly embaressing displays of “media whoring” as some have called it ....

Her public rhetoric grows angrier. In the earliest interview, after her first meeting with the president, she gingerly described him as sincere while suggesting he didn’t satisfy her about the war. In recent months, she has branded him “The Fuhrer” and a mass murderer, demanding his impeachment. She has squared off against parents who have lost soldiers in Iraq and continue to support the president’s policies, labeling them “brainwashed.”

But Cindy Sheehan isn’t apologizing for her anger. “How can your rage not increase when every day something comes out that says my son should still be alive, that the reasons for this war are bogus? ... I’m not an extreme wacko—I’m with the mainstream on this. I don’t think it’s naive or wacky to be upset that we’re still killing people to solve our problems.”

Sheehan has been severed from much of her old life—or she has severed it herself. Her marriage, her job, her home. Loss of most of her friends, whom she cannot forgive for voting to re-elect Bush. Loss of her Catholic faith (a former youth pastor, she has abandoned Christianity and envisions a universal spiritual creator.)

Every day her anger increases. She has driven off everything from her former life including her husband, her marriage, her former friends and now travels around with a host of bodyguards and public relations people hired by activist organizations with suspect agendas. She has declared that she is “not a wacko and with the mainstream” but I know she hasn’t convinced me and I doubt she has even managed to convince herself.

The loss of her Christian faith is, to me, the final sign. This is a trainwreck waiting to happen. When it does, the media and the Leftist groups propping her up will simply do what she is doing now ... namely blame everyone but themselves. I sincerely hope I am proven wrong and Ms. Sheehan manages to regain her sanity and perspective before all is said and done.

So where does this lead me? Well, you’re probably wondering why this post leads off with a picture of a Army soldier. The picture is of Spec. Casey Sheehan who is at the center of all this and at the same time becoming less and less a part of this saga. After reading the article above and gathering my thoughts, I decided to rectify my lack of knowledge about Casey Sheehan. Here is what I found out by browsing around the web ...

He grew up in Norwalk in Southern California and moved to Vacaville in 1993 with his parents, brother Andy, 18, and sisters Carly, 23, and Jane, 18. His family attended church at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where Casey was very involved. According to Father Benedict DeLeon, the priest there, “Casey assisted me in various ways. He was on our high school youth group leadership team, also acted as alter server when we celebrated youth mass. When Casey got older, he served as a eucharistic minister.” He was also an Eagle Scout.

Casey Sheehan was in Iraq only two weeks when he was killed while driving a Humvee just outside of southern Baghdad during the uprising there. He was one of eight soldiers killed by Shiite militia firing small arms and rocket-propelled grenades in an early morning ambush of the convoy. He was 24 years old at the time (April, 2004). Sheehan was a member of the 82nd Field Artillery of the 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas. According to Sheehan’s Sergeant, on the day he was killed he and another soldier, Cpl. Forest J. Jostes, volunteered to be part of a quick response team when rioting started in Baghdad.

Casey Sheehan’s life was probably best summed up in a quote from his sister Carly that I ran across at Honor The Fallen web site ....

“That’s all he wanted to do was serve God and his country his whole life,” Carly Sheehan said. “He was a boy scout from age 6 or 7 and an Eagle Scout. It was kind of a natural progression to go into the military from that. He said he was enjoying the military because it was just like the boy scouts but they got guns.”

Now do you understand? Casey Sheehan was just a good kid, as evidenced by the many compliments of his friends. He was someone who believed in his country and his faith. He was the kind of young man any parent would be proud to have raised. His life, his dedication to duty, honor and courage, his faith in God and most importantly his willingness to lay down his life in the cause of freedom - should be his requiem. Instead, all we are given is constant coverage of his mother as she disassociates herself from everything he stood for. That’s just not right.

Frog Hunt

Some days it just ain’t easy being green. Especially if you’re a cane toad in Australia. Like Muslim immigrants, these evil creatures have invaded Australia, multipled like rabbits and are threatening the indigenous lifeforms. Time to go Muslim .. erh .. frog hunting, mates.

Now some of these suggestions for getting rid of the creatures are pretty boring. Hitting them with golf clobs, whacking them with big blocks of wood, gassing them with auto exhaust (WTF?). Of course, the tree huggers have the “humane method” involving Preparation H™ and a freezer (Double WTF?).

Now, when I was a very young lad of an age that precluded having any common sense, me and my playmates enjoyed hours of fun with a bag full of cherry bombs and any green amphibians that were handy. Use your imagination ... and don’t tell my Mom, OK?

imageimageAustralians Hunt Down Toxic Toads
March 18, 2006

BBC News, Darwin

Residents in Australia’s Northern Territory are staging a day of action to stop marauding cane toads. They are being encouraged to hunt and destroy these toxic pests, which have spread in plague-like numbers across tropical Australia. The cane toads were introduced from South America 70 years ago in a failed attempt to eradicate cane beetles.

They are big, ugly creatures and their advance has taken them to the outskirts of Darwin. Residents are being urged to defend the front-line on “Not In My Backyard Day”, which is sponsored by the Northern Territory government. Federal MP Dave Tollner says that the toads deserve no mercy.

“I suggested that people should hit them with golf clubs or cricket bats or, you know, lumps of wood - whatever was at hand. “Other people have suggested that you should put them in a box and then gas them with the exhaust of your car. The RSPCA also suggests chemical euthanasia. “You know, to me it seems far easier just to flog them over the head with a lump of wood,” he says.

The toads have become a serious hazard to local wildlife. Crocodiles have died after eating their toxic skin, while lizards have been no match for them either. Safe to say that cane toads have few friends in Australia’s lush tropics. “I think they’re really disgusting and the only fun bit about them is squashing them and killing them,” a schoolgirl says. Asked whether she thinks that is a bit mean, she replies: “No, not to me… Because cane toads are disgusting!”

Australia’s RSPCA believes that these warty creatures are a menace and should be destroyed. It recommends that they be smeared with haemorrhoid cream. It contains a local anaesthetic that induces a coma. The toads are then placed in a freezer and the job is done humanely.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
