Life Catches Up With Art

imageimage For those of you who are keeping track of how old you’ve become, here’s some really bad news for all of you. Mark this date on your calendar: June 18, 2006 (next summer). On that date, Sir James Paul McCartney (MBE) will officially be sixty-four years old.

Go ahead and dig out that record album or 8-track tape with the picture of four very young musicians in funny colored uniforms surrounded by a crowd of famous people in a garden (if you’re old enough, you know which album I’m speaking of). You also know which track to play in honor of Sir Paul, who in his declining years, wishes he hadn’t written that song ....

tune  Will you still need, will you still feed me, when I’m .... tune

Two-Fer On E-Bay

Gents, if you have at least $600k laying around and are in the market for a new home in Denver that comes complete with an outstandingly beautiful blonde wife ... then we have a deal for you. Let the bidding begin ....

imageimageimageFor Sale: House With Bride

The idea of “House With Bride” began while I was contemplating selling my house in Denver, Colorado. Although my company is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a few years ago I bought a house in Denver. My life in Albuquerque had solely revolved around my work, and I felt that I needed to make some changes to improve my social life and hopefully meet my “soul mate”.

Denver was an attractive choice for several reasons. First, it was a nearby major metropolitan city (so I could commute back and forth), and other factors included the wonderful downtown area for socialization, the great climate, beautiful scenery and overall energy of the area.

One of the most beautiful and desirable neighborhoods in Denver is Washington Park. I purchased an old home there and spent over a year remodeling and decorating my home. I loved working on my home and took pride in my remodeling accomplishments. There was only one problem…I had not met that special someone to share this house with. My attempts included dating services, blind dates and connections through friends, but I still had not met the man to build a life with.

Finally I decided to give my best effort towards something whereby that special man could “find me”. eBay offered an opportunity for a “non-binding” transaction, which provides a means to advertise my house (and myself), with neither party being obligated to complete the transaction.

You might be wondering why I have my listing at $600,000.00 plus myself for bid as “priceless”. First, I estimate the value of the house with furnishings at approximately $600,000.00. When I asked my girlfriends their advice on what I (the “bride”) was worth, most responded that I was “priceless”.

Disclaimer From The Skipper: I have my suspicions about this but I’ll withhold judgement until the young lady provides proof that she is indeed “priceless”. Besides, how do I know the roof doesn’t leak?

Support Judge Alito

What are you waiting for? The Democrats and Leftists (redundancy alert!) are already girding their nutless loins for battle. Go look at the video, check the endorsements and sign the petition. Now!

imageimageProgress for America Announces Campaign Supporting Judge Alito

WASHINGTON - Progress For America Inc. (PFA) today announced a one-week $425,000 advertising buy, $50,000 e-campaign and 20 state grassroots effort to persuade opinion leaders in Washington, DC and across America that Judge Samuel Alito is a tremendously qualified judge who deserves to be confirmed.

“Although some liberal extremists will inevitably urge Senate Democrats to obstruct Judge Alito’s nomination, they should set bitter partisanship aside,” said Brian McCabe, PFA’s president. “No one can argue that Judge Alito is anything but extremely well qualified for the Court and his unanimous confirmation to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals will undermine any attempt by liberals to argue that he is an ideologue.”

Oreo Wars?

Democrats have officially descended to the level of downright silliness in their ongoing war against the rest of the world. Now they’re pelting Black Republicans with oreo cookies at rallies (supposedly to show they are black on the outside but white on the inside).

It’s time for the rest of us to break out the heavy artillery .... Chunky Chocolate Chip cookies (to show them that we think they’re nothing but thick, brown, lumpy shit s).

‘Party Trumps Race’ For Steele Foes
(WASHINGTON TIMES)

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican. Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.

Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report—the only Republican candidate so targeted.  But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with “pointing out the obvious. There is a difference between pointing out the obvious and calling someone names,” said a campaign spokesman for Kweisi Mfume, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate and former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

State Sen. Lisa A. Gladden, a black Baltimore Democrat, said she does not expect her party to pull any punches, including racial jabs at Mr. Steele, in the race to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Paul S. Sarbanes. “Party trumps race, especially on the national level,” she said. “If you are bold enough to run, you have to take whatever the voters are going to give you. It’s democracy, perhaps at its worse, but it is democracy.”

Delegate Salima Siler Marriott, a black Baltimore Democrat, said Mr. Steele invites comparisons to a slave who loves his cruel master or a cookie that is black on the outside and white inside because his conservative political philosophy is, in her view, anti-black.

Mouse Serenade?

This story not only has singing mice but it turns out the male “wee beasties” are actually crooning to their female counterparts. Who knew mice could sing? This does, however, explain the popularity of certain nameless pop groups ...

Researchers Add Mice To List Of Creatures That Sing In The Presence Of Mates

Scientists have known for decades that female lab mice or their pheromones cause male lab mice to make ultrasonic vocalizations. But a new paper from researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis establishes for the first time that the utterances of the male mice are songs.

This finding, to be published Nov. 1 online by the journal Public Library of Science Biology, adds mice to the roster of creatures that croon in the presence of the opposite sex, including songbirds, whales and some insects.

“In the literature, there’s a hierarchy of different definitions for what qualifies as a song, but there are usually two main properties,” says lead author Timothy E. Holy, Ph.D., assistant professor of neurobiology and anatomy. “One is that there should be some syllabic diversity—recognizably distinct categories of sound, instead of just one sound repeated over and over. And there should be some temporal regularity—motifs and themes that recur from time to time, like the melodic hook in a catchy tune.”

The new study shows that mouse song has both qualities, although Holy notes that the ability of lab mice to craft motifs and themes isn’t quite on a par with that of master songsmiths like birds.

“Perhaps the best analogy for mouse song would be the song of juvenile birds, who put forth what you might call proto-motifs and themes,” he explains. “It’s not yet clear whether singing conveys an advantage to male mice during courtship, as it appears to do in birds.”

Memo From The Skipper: Of course it goes without saying that the comments are reserved for creating catchy song titles for the wee beasties music ...

Daily Darwin Award

Today’s Darwin Award goes to a student at Oxford University in England, where supposedly the best and brightest of Brits go to school. This chap evidently cheated on the entrance exams as his demise was, shall we say, slightly dumb. Fortunately, his genes are no longer in the pool. Cineri gloria sera venit.

Misbehaving Teachers, Part XXLVIII

It appears the teaching establishment has another one for the record books. Today’s “Teacher Seduces Student” story comes from Tampa and involves a female teacher and .... a female student. C’mon! You really didn’t believe for one instant that the homosexuals would let the heterosexuals have all the criminal fun at school, did you ...?

Student Accuses Coach Of Affair
TAMPA (TBO)

Math teacher Jaymee Lane Wallace earned accolades coaching the Wharton High School girls varsity basketball team to two district titles, but several of her players told police she had a secret. They accused Wallace of having an 18-month sexual relationship with one of their teammates that many of them discussed but didn’t report until Tampa police began asking questions five months ago.

Wallace, 28, of 16392 Compton Palms Drive, surrendered Monday on an arrest warrant charging her with lewd and lascivious battery, a second-degree felony. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison. She was released from Orient Road Jail after posting $7,500 bail. Her attorney has filed a not-guilty plea. Police did not identify the alleged victim, now 17. Police began investigating the alleged relationship in June, after the girl’s family contacted authorities. Relatives said Wallace disapproved of the teenager’s new girlfriend and got into an argument at the girl’s house on Memorial Day. Afterward, the girl told her mother she and Wallace had an affair, police said.

The girl’s mother told police in a report released Tuesday that she “feels betrayed” and her daughter is in counseling. The girl told police the relationship began in December 2002 when she was 14 and Wallace allegedly stapled a note to a graded paper saying she found the girl attractive. In the police report, the girl describes how she and Wallace became intimate in 2003, when she was 15, after Wallace drove her and teammates to watch a Final Four game in Lakeland. They parked in the lot of a “factory” on 30th Street, later identified as Yuengling Brewery, and performed oral sex in Wallace’s car, police said.

The girl’s older sister, now 19, and another teammate said Wallace would shield the relationship by bringing them and the alleged victim on errands, where they would kiss and hold hands, or to her apartment, where the other girl would wait in the living room while Wallace and the alleged victim were in the bedroom. The sister told police she once walked in the room and saw Wallace and her sister naked.

Wallace was relieved of her coaching duties in June, when the police investigation began, and the school district reassigned her to work in the Office of Professional Standards. The district first questioned the alleged victim and her mother about an inappropriate relationship in March when the mother of another student reported her suspicions, spokesman Steve Hegarty said. At the time, the alleged victim and her mother said they knew nothing, and the district, wanting to be discreet, did not investigate further, he said.

The school also sent a letter to the alleged victim and Wallace and received no response from either, Hegarty said. Wallace said inthe police report that she and the alleged victim had a “mother/daughter or big sister/little sister” relationship. The alleged victim said Wallace broke off the relationship in 2004, about a year after Wallace’s wedding, saying she wanted to have children and felt guilty about what she was doing to her husband. In coming forward, the teenager said she was in love with Wallace and did not want to get her in trouble but could not lie to her mother anymore.

More United Nations Silliness

What started as a simple resolution to create a Holocaust Commemoration Day by the United Nations rapidly degenerated into a US-bashing session by the howling monkeys. First, Egypt wanted to make sure it included all victims of genocide since the beginning of time. I assume this was only to make sure the Jews weren’t being given some “special” treatment. Then, the representative from Venezuela decided that the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were also victims of genocide. I’m only surprised they didn’t blame the extinction of the dinosaurs on the US ...

U.N. to Create Holocaust Commemoration Day
NEW YORK (AP)

The U.N. General Assembly adopted a landmark resolution Tuesday that will create the first international day of commemoration for the six million Jews and other victims of the Nazi Holocaust. The International Day of Commemoration will be held every year on Jan. 27. Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Dan Gillerman thanked the 191 members of the General Assembly “at this unique and historic moment ... for adopting this unprecedented resolution.”

Secretary-General Kofi Annan said the annual commemoration will serve as “an important reminder of the universal lessons of the Holocaust, a unique evil which cannot simply be consigned to the past and forgotten,” U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. There was no vote on the resolution. Instead, General Assembly President Jan Eliasson banged the gavel signifying consensus after asking whether there were any objections and hearing none.

But after the vote, Egypt’s U.N. Ambassador Maged Abdelaziz complained that the day should commemorate all victims of genocide—“without discrimination on the basis of religious or ethnic background”—and not be limited just to victims of the Holocaust. “We believe that no one should have the monopoly of suffering,” he said.

Venezuela’s Ambassador Imeria Nunez de Odreman also expressed concern that it did not encompass other recent genocides including those in Cambodia, Rwanda and Kosovo. She also pointed to the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasiki in World War II as examples of “devastating destruction” that occurred “with no justification” and should be included in the resolution’s stance against human atrocities.

The resolution emphasizes both “the duty to remember” and “the duty to educate” future generations about the mass slaughter ordered out by Adolf Hitler, Germany’s wartime Nazi leader. It rejects any denial of the Holocaust, condemns discrimination and violence based on religion or ethnicity, and calls for the U.N. to establish an outreach program to encourage the public to engage in Holocaust remembrance activities.

The resolution was sponsored initially by Israel, the United States, Australia, Canada and Russia. Gillerman said after Tuesday’s vote that it had 104 co-sponsors.

The Hildabeast Weighs In

OK, you knew it was coming and so here it is. Try to keep the comments sane and rational. OK, I only said “try” ....

Hillary Clinton: Alito Record ‘Raises Serious Questions’
(NEWSMAX)

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said yesterday that the judicial record of Bush Supreme Court nominee Sam Alito “raises serious questions about whether he will be steadfast in protecting our most fundamental rights.”

“I intend to closely examine Judge Alito’s record and qualifications and carefully monitor the Judiciary Committee hearings in order to determine whether he intends to be a guardian of the rule of law who puts fairness and justice before ideology,” Clinton said, in a statement posted to her web site.

Clinton warned that only after “a thoughtful and deliberate process of closely examining and scrutinizing Judge Alito’s record” will she be able to determine “whether he merits a seat on the highest court in the nation.”

Of course, Mrs. Clinton had no such problem with her husband’s last Supreme Court pick, ACLU chief counsel Ruth Bader Ginsburg - who was a wild-eyed left-wing ideologue who favored coed prisons and thought that 12-year-old girls should be allowed to have sex.

Totally Unreal News Story

Did you think the Mad Mullahs were the only ones that were barking mad in Iran? Think again. This news story has more barking madness, per word, than anything I’ve read in hundreds of years. Nuking Iran would be doing them a favor. These idjits need to be put out of their misery ....

Iranian Kills Woman When She Proposes
TEHERAN (Reuters)

A 52-year-old Iranian has been sentenced to death for killing his 70-year-old lover when she asked to marry him, a newspaper reported Monday. A court report in the Etemad daily said a taxi driver, identified only as Hamidreza, became furious when his elderly lover Setareh proposed marriage.

“I went to her house and she said she had deep feelings for me and suggested we get married,” he told the court. Hamidreza explained he already had a wife and children. “She then got frustrated and slapped me,” he said.

The man knocked her unconscious and suffocated her with bed-sheets before making off with her jewelry.
