Again, thanks to Michelle Malkin for a fantastic eye-opener dealing with decency.  Not sure why I never did so before but she’s on my “must reads” from now on.  She should be yours, too---but AFTER you read BMEWS!!  Bwahahahaha!!!!

This is an issue that anyone with a teenaged daughter should be very interested in---prom dress fashion.

Apparently the NY Post put out a story about the newest rage in prom dresses.

Would you let YOUR daughter go out looking like this?  Asked in the article was this question, too:  would you let your SON take a girl out that dressed like this?

Surprise!

I’m out on the road today doing a little consulting work. I had the opportunity to do a little fancy web work with Macromedia Flash for the client. While I was at it, I decided to jazz up the site here a little with SwishMAX, the utlimate Flash creation tool.

Look at the upper right corner of the page. Do you see Batty? If you do then you already have the Macromedia Flash plug-in installed in your browser. If you see a message about downloading a plug-in, simply click on it and it will install the plug-in. Don’t worry, it’s safe. Either way, when you see Batty, just move your mouse pointer over his picture for a little surprise (move the pointer off to stop play - it’s called a “MouseOver() Event"). Batty has a message for all of you ....

Hot On The Heels Of The Last Post

Last weekend I posted about what can be considered an admittedly tasteless spoof on the tsunami deaths.

I still think it is hilarious and listen to it once a day.

Now the radio station has apologized.

That’s all well and good.  Gotta protect that bottom line, I guess.

Troubling, though, is the issue of freedom that I mentioned in the post previous to this one.

Read the last paragraph:

Wire reports said some New York lawmakers are demanding that the FCC crack down on the station that aired the song.

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!?!

Just what the hell was illegal?  Since when does the FCC legislate “poor taste?”

Fucking socialist go-gooder bastards always wanting mommy government to go after those “mean bullies” who offend them.

Bloggers And Ethics

I’m not sure how I feel about this issue of ethics and blogging.  For example, if the RNC were to pay us to support overturning Roe vs. Wade I do not think I need to tell the reading audience.  First of all, you’d come to expect we’d support something like that or you’d notice an overabundance of postings about the subject and might wonder what’s going on. In either case, what harm is done?

If ABC or the DNC were to pay us to support Clinton’s attempts to get a third term, we’d tell them to go pack sand.  Until they offered us LOTS of money at which point we “might” do it.  (Hey, EVERYONE has a price.) Again, you, the readers, would not be told but you’d notice right away that either we were being satirical as hell or if you thought we were serious you’d not read us anymore.  So what harm is done?

Now, what if we were paid to write “false” stuff.  Lies about social security?  Or lies about welfare reform?  Or lies about voter disenfranchisement?  Or that Condi Rice was having a secret affair with a married senator?  And what if we never told you about it, never disclosed we were being paid for it and then did the writing?  Again, what harm is done?

At our level, little to none.

But................what if our blog had an “audience” of over 1,000,000 hits a day?

Would it become a serious issue then?.  If we had that much “pull” imagine the havoc we could wreak.

Yet somehow I am not sure that we need to LEGISLATE what bloggers should or should not do.  This is actually being considered right now.  Read about it here. It’s like the internet tax.  States want it because of the revenue.  We don’t because of the added cost. Retailers don’t want it as shoppers would disappear from their sites.

Bloggers don’t want it because it takes away our first amendment right to free speech.  Assholes like those above want it because the concept of “freedom” bothers them.  Bureacrats and lawyers want it because it gives them something else with which to control you and something to sue someone over.

Forcing us to sign some code of conduct is anathema to what blogging represents.  The American public is becoming more savvy.  They know they need to get information from more than one source now since the people we trusted to be honest and ethical (and have ethics rules to abide by) so casually threw them all away the past few years with their boot-licking ass sucking support of the democratic party.

This is weird territory to be getting into but into it we must go.

I have no idea where we will be 10 years from now and have nightmarish visions of every news organization being bought out by one entity or another.

Then what?

Excuse me, I think it’s the DNC at the door.

Go ahead, tell us what you think.

More From The Land Of Fruits, Nuts And Flakes

San Francisco is now considering charging for plastic bags used in grocery stores.

It’s bad enough you go to Wal-Mart and they put three items in one bag and you end up at home unloading 43 plastic bags.  As soon as other municipalities see this they will realize what a gold mine it is and underwrite a campaign to encourage ALL stores to use one bag per item so as to collect more revenue.

How soon before we will be taxed for all our plastic trash bags, too?!?  Hell, we use almost as many of those as we do shopping bags.  Might as well tax those things that hold the 6 packs together.  Tax those styrofoam plates that meat comes on.  Tax the plastic wrap used to cover that meat.

These asshole enviro-weenies really piss me off.  When will we have open season on them?

(sarcasm on) Puts on frown, lowers voice, saddens eyes, generates a tear and pleafully says, “Can’t anyone see how this will hurt the poor people the most?  How inconsiderate.  How cold.  How ruthless.”

Hey!  Wait a minute!  That’s REPUBLICAN territory, dammit! We’re alwats portrayed as cold, ruthless, and uncaring for the poor.  You’d think these San Franciscans were stealing a page from our playbook the way they are pushing this bill.

(sarcasm off)

Of course, if they pass this that will mean local government will then get in the business of offering vouchers to the poor for being taxed on the plastic bags.  An entire bureaucracy can be created to accept used bags and pay the poor and homeless for each bag they return.

I think I am going to get sick!

Did The Door Hit Them On The Ass On The Way Out?

I hope so!  And HARD, too!

Good riddance!  A couple of “artiste” types quit UCLA because a student used a gun in a performance art piece.  FUCK YOU, you asswipes!  Leave!

Amazing, isn’t it, how intolerant they are of us when we criticize their putting crucifixes in jars of piss.  We’re the ones who have to view it as “artistic expression.” But let someone milk one of their sacred cows in the name of “free expression” and it is now called “domestic terrorism.”

What a bunch of forons.  What moonbat fruitcakes!

I hope they are so despondent that they commit suicide.  Two less mouths to feed.  Of course, further reading reveals these assholes were probably hippies in the 60s (given their age.)

The last paragraph is a doozy and it comes from the Dean of the Arts Department:

“Change is a natural thing, and we’re looking forward to conversations” about strategy for shaping the department’s future in the search to fill the two vacant professorships.”

In other words, “we can do without you.  Buh-bye!”

I just don’t think I need to do it so I will let one of you more resourceful types go ferret this out: What is the party affiliation of the state senator who claims to have multiple families he supports in multiple houses because he is having multiple relationships?

If it’s a Republican I will be very surprised.

Another clue he is not republican is that party affiliation is never mentioned in this article.

But I’ve been wrong before.

Iraqi News

I got the following from an AF friend in Iraq

This is one pissed off Lt. Colonel!!

He is angry as hell at media coverage about what is going on in Iraq.

Particularly disturbing is this snippet which reflects the true nature of our media:

“I have had my staff aggressively pursue media coverage for all sorts of events that tell the other side of the story only to have them turned down or ignored by the press in Baghdad. Strangely, I found it much easier to lure the Arab media to a “non-lethal” event than the western outlets. Open a renovated school or a youth center and I could always count on Al-Iraqia or even Al-Jazeera to show up, but no western media ever showed up - ever.”

I love his take on comparing war to the manufacturing sector:

“I’ve read that in the world of manufacturing, you can have only two of the following three qualities when developing a product - cheap, fast or good. You can produce something cheap and fast, but it won’t be good; good and fast, but it won’t be cheap; good and cheap, but it won’t be fast. In this case, we want the result to be good and we want it at the lowest cost in human lives. Given this set of conditions, one can expect this war is to take a while, and rightfully so.”


In other news, you may soon be hearing from our media and their sycophants about how the voting in Iraq will disenfranchise millions of Iraqis.  This, of course, will be fueled by the leftists in our government and others not in government who hate the US.  What you won’t hear is that many of those people will be Sunnis.

Now, if you’ve not been following what’s going on in internal Iraqi politics and do not know who used to be in power during Saddam’s regime nor which, the Sunnis or Shiites, were a majority, I do not have time to discuss it here.  But if you read this article, you will get a pretty decent understanding of exactly WHO is not showing up for the elections and why.

Additionally, try and understand that what may happen on January 30th will be a purposeful action by those within Iraq who are not happy at the role reversal about to take place and that what the media may be trying to tell you will be a lie.  Those that do not vote chose not to.  They were not forced to stay home neither were they disenfranchised.  They did it to themselves.  A great piece that discusses this is found here.

Now let them bear ther consequences of their actions.

New Democratic Party Mascot

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic Party chariman Howard Dean today announced today the donkey will be replaced as the official party mascot. Citing poor public perceptions of the hygiene of donkeys, Dean introduced “Sssssatan”, who will take over the duties of party mascot immediately. In his first official press release, “Sssssatan” had only this comment, “That whole mess in Genesis was a frame. God didn’t even give me a chance to vote on that tree of knowledge shit!”

“Ssssatan” vowed to do everything in his power to bring the Democratic Party back into control of the government saying, “God has had it his way for too many centuries. It’s time for us low-lifes to stand up for ourselves. The Democrats understand the eternal struggle for control of .. erh .. uh .. never mind.”

Dirty Deeds, Part Duh!

Back in November, I posted a story that somehow managed to elude the MSM about Kerry campaign idiots slashing tires and damaging Republican campaign vehicles in Wisconsin. The story somehow managed to slide into the background (I wonder why).

Well, the Milwaukee County District Attorney E. Michael McCann, a Democrat, managed to take more than two months before finally bringing charges. Huh? They caught the perps red-handed and it took two months to bring charges?

I demand a Congressional investigation. What did the Kerry campaign know and when did they know it? How far up does this go? Was Kerry or the DNC involved? Why isn’t the FBI all over this case?

Better yet, I’ll let B.C., Imperial Torturer over at the Anit-Idiotarian Rottweiller Empire ‘splain it for you. Misha and the gang are fit to be tied over this one. So am I. Rargh!

The Gettysburg Address

What They Said About the Gettysburg Address

November 19th, 1863, Abraham Lincoln delivered this speech on the battlefield, one of the greatest presidential speeches in history; one of the greatest speeches in history, period. Look at the reaction to the Gettysburg address from the Harrisburg Patriot and Union, the Chicago Times, the Springfield Republican, and the Harrisburg Patriot and Union.

“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting-place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead who struggled here have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.”

The Harrisburg Patriot and Union wrote: “We pass over the silly remarks of the President; for the credit of the nation we are willing that the veil of oblivion shall be dropped over them and that they shall no more be repeated or thought of.”

The Chicago Times: “The cheeks of every American must tingle with shame as he reads the silly, flat, and dishwatery utterance.”

The London Times: “[T]he ceremony was rendered ludicrous by some of the sallies of that poor President Lincoln… Anything more dull and commonplace it would not be easy to produce.”

The Springfield Republican was surprised at how well Lincoln did, though, noting: “We had grown so accustomed to homely and imperfect phrase in his productions that we had come to think it was the law of his utterance.”

Tinfoil hats, barking moonbats and asshats are not a recent invention, they go way back. By the way Lincoln was practically the first Republican. He did not agree with the Democrat or Whig parties so, He campaigned for the newly founded Republican party in 1856.  In 1860 the Republicans, anxious to attract as many different factions as possible, nominated Lincoln for the presidency on a platform of slavery restriction, internal improvements, homesteads, and tariff reform.

His was also the only face on an American coin to face to the right. Until the Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea dollar coins were made.  All other coins (Democrats) face to the left.
