A Portent Of Victory

They say you should always follow the money.

I believe Wall St. is doing just that.  They expect a Bush victory with few complications from challenges.

How do I know?  S&P Futures have just bolted upwards.

UPDATE!!!!!!

OK, I just got back from my precinct.  I went in this morning quite glum about this whole situation and re-plotted out my electoral votes.  Nothing changed from last night.  It was either a tie at 269-269 with Florida up in the air and with a tilt towards Kerry giving Kerry the presidency (yes , I was that pessimistic especially given my experience with Florida voters) or Bush squeaking by if he picks up Pennsylvania.

To say I was in a glum mood is an understatement.

Then I went to work.  OH MY GOD!!!  The fruitcakes came out of the pantry today!!!  (more in a later post.)

However, I am feeling a bit more upbeat this evening.

Why?

I worked in a HEAVILY Democratic precinct.  To give you an idea, they gave Betty Castor 20% more votes than Mel Martinez(who is predicted to win.) They gave a local democratic commissioner 33% more votes than a republican contender.  They gave another democratic commissioner almost 40% more votes than his republican contender.

That gives you a fair indication of the makeup of the precinct. Very LIBERAL.

Here’s where it gets interesting.

The vote for President?  Bush 443 Kerry 446

A THREE VOTE difference (less than one percent) where all the other differences were over 20%

So now let’s see where the rest of the night takes us.

Have faith!!

PRAY!!!

Meant to Post This Early This Morning

But having gotten up at 4:30 to read news and then head out to my precinct I completely forgot it.

So here it is.

The Excitement Never Ends

Well, it’s been a long day but a great one yesterday.

Started off the morning in anticipation of driving people around to knock on doors and get out the vote but the morning took a detour as I headed off to the Republican HQ here in Hernando County to prepare for some surprise visitors.

Made some signs, did some clean-up, picked up food and other miscellaneous tasks.

It was a hot day today with temps near 87 degrees.  Imagine that.  November and close to 90 in Florida!  YIKES!

Anyway, round about 1 PM our tiny little headquarters office was overheated with dozens of people to include not only volunteers but our Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite, RPOF Chairman Carole Jean Jordan, State Representative David Russell, State Attorney General Charlie Crist, Senate candidate Mel Martinez, ANDGovernor Jeb Bush and brother Marvin Bush.

What a grand time!! Everyone was excited!  Speeches were given, hands were shaken, autographs passed out and before we knew it all was over.

So we migrated outside and while the governor was being interviewed this (sorry but I gotta be brutal) nasty old skanky type woman with a whole lotta dental work lacking shows up holding this nasty-assed cardboard sign supporting Kerry.  For all I know it could have been where she slept last night.

Now, I gotta tell ya’ she was THE LAST THING we needed there so I talked some 10-13 guys (retired cops) from NY to go near where she was and try to block her sign.  She dodged and turned avoiding them. Finally I got fed up as the press seemed to want to focus on her.  I went inside, barged through the crowd, grabbed a HUGE 4x8 foot Bush/Cheney sign and proceeded to completetly block her. Some folks (supposedly Republican) were not happy with what we were doing and were saying she had a right.  I yelled back, “I have a right, too!”

At about that time one of them said something to the effect that this was the sort of stuff that might drive him from the party.  The temptation to get right in his face was great and tell him we don’t need weaklings like him when all of a sudden this elderly lady does a face plant on the sidewalk.  The tension broke and we dedicated efforts to helping her as medics arrived.

Now here’s the ironic part.  One of our guys was getting interviewed later and you want to know what the press was interested in?

Easy.  They wanted to know why we were trying to block the Homeless Queen from showing her sign!!  What arrogance!  It would not have been an issue if they had ignored her but in typical liberal media fashion they gravitated to the non-story rather than why it was that the Governor was in little old Brooksville.

It’s just like when we had “Support the Troops” rallies earlier this year.  We’d have 50-60 people out there and the media were only interested in the dirt balls across the street who were against us.

Asshole media really does not get it!!!

Here are some pictures.

A local volunteer, Blake, practicing for when he’s governor.

Election Shenanigans

In Atlanta, babies were not allowed in the polling centers with John Kerry clothing. George Bush cowboy boots are another matter entirely.

If you’re approached by a pollster while voting today, here are ten great things you can say to them. Besides, the obligatory “f**k you”, “eat s**t” and “I voted for Nader”.

If you really want to have a good time, put on a John Kerry T-shirt and a George Bush mask and go scream like a loon outside your polling center. But when the cops show up, don’t think for a minute that “the devil made me do it” is a viable defense.

The first final returns are in .... from Guam. George Bush beats John Kerry by 17,264 to 9,540. Who the f**k is Campagna Badnarik and why did 53 Guamanians vote for him (her?). I’m confused.

Alaskans today are also voting on whether to totally legalize the possession and sale of marijuana. Democrats claim if the bill passes, Alaskans will be too stoned to notice evil Republicans stealing all of the oil in ANWR. Governor of Alaska was unavailable for comment .. reportedly in “doobie session” with legislature.

Tom Dasshole has filed a lawsuit to stop evil Republicans from writing down license plate numbers of Indians voting in South Dakota. Judge immediately grants the restraining order after Dasshole explains the Indians are afraid the white men are stealing their souls by writing down their tag numbers. So Sioux Me!

In eleven states (Mississippi, Montana, Oregon, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and Utah) voters get to cast their vote either for or against gay marriage as part of their state’s Constitution. North Dakota’s gay population (approximately 2) are outraged.

Headline Of The Day: “World Riveted By US Election”. Riveted? Dear World: get a fucking life, OK?

In Paris, US citizens living abroad are staying up with their French comrades to celebrate a Kerry victory. Memo to those US citizens in Paris: if Kerry wins, don’t even think about coming home. The Revolution begins the minute Bush concedes.

In New Jersey, someone spilled salt on the floor at a polling center and they evacuated the building, thinking it was anthrax. And here I thought salt was only this effective when applied to a bird’s tail.

And finally, porn star Seymour Butts is promising to give away free DVDs to anyone who shows up at New York’s Times Square Virgin Megastore with proof that they voted in today’s US presidential election. You just can’t make shit like this up. You just have to be patient and the story will come to you. Feel the Force, Luke.

My Projection for the Election .... Bush - 262 Electoral Votes, Kerry - 261 Electoral Votes .... the contest will be decided by the US House Of Representatives .... Democrats will claim they were robbed again .... four more years of whining and pouting .... Vilmar and I finally crack and start taking out Liberal pinheads with sniper attacks .... after being caught and tried, we will be sentenced to five hours of community service by Conservative judge. That is all. Carry on.

Note: Just kidding about the sniper shit. Bwah-hah-ha-ha-ha ....

Vote!

Have you voted yet? Yes, I’m talking to you. Get off your dead ass, turn off the computer and go renew your license to bitch and complain. If you don’t renew your license today you have to keep your whiney little mouth shut for four years. No excuses will be accepted. Hey, I’m talking to you!!

And if you don’t vote for George W. Bush I’m coming after your sorry butt with a ClueBat! Yes, YOU!

P.S. As you can see I already have my “I Voted” sticker. I cancelled out Michael Moore’s vote, dammit.

P.P.S. Pay no attention to the teddy bear behind me. He’s got his Linux Red Hat on and is watching out for Democrat slackers. He is armed too.

Crossroads

Pay attention, my fellow Americans. I have a tale of decisions and the perils of taking “the path less travelled ....

For the last four years, the President has been, for the most part, an extremely unpopular man. The country is split into two factions and one faction hates the President with an unbridled passion, a blinding hatred borne out of not only differences of opinion but in most cases, just an extreme distaste for the man, himself. We are approaching an election to decide if the President should remain in office or should be replaced. We find ourselves engaged in a great war to preserve the country and protect America from destruction. There are forces both within and without our shores who are doing everything they can to influence this election. On the one hand, we have a decidedly stubborn, honest, reliable, steadfast Republican President who has rallied the country in a time of great strife. Our military forces are struggling with a strong, determined enemy. On the other hand, also running for President, we have a distinguished, decorated Democrat war hero who has led a bitter campaign of mud-slinging and name-calling, who has accused the President of not knowing how to handle the war because the President never had to fight for this country as he, the war hero did. He has accused the President of misleading the American people, lying to the American people and fighting the wrong war. He has promised to bring the war to a conclusion, even if it means an armistice with the enemy to be brokered with the assistance of European countries.

The country is at a crossroads and a decision must be made tomorrow by the voters. We, the People must decide whether to stay the course and fight this enemy because we know what is right and the President is the right man for the job. Or else we can just vote for the other man, and back away from this war, letting the chips fall where they may. We can abrogate our duty to defend America and just let history decide whether we did the right thing. A hundred forty years from now, no one will care what we decided. We’ll all be dead and the world will have changed no matter what we decide. We are at the crossroads and must choose one way or the other. May God have mercy on all of us.

OK, raise your hands .... everyone who figured out the the above quote comes from a citizen writing in 1864?

Doesn’t it sound familiar? You bet it does. Except we’re a hundred forty years distant from that citizen and his perilous decision and history has provided a clearer vision of the consequences of that decision. A decision that, thankfully, he and his fellow countrymen decided correctly. For the record, Lincoln was running against General George McClellan, a great hero of the Mexican War who proved to be incompetent in the Civil War. Lincoln fired him and McClellan sought revenge by running against Lincoln in 1864. The people of the United States, in the 1864 election, decided that it was a far, far better thing to do to fight the war to the bitter end in order to preserve the Union and abolish slavery. I think they chose wisely. I know all of you do too. Yes, I include Liberals and Democrats in that. No one would question whether Lincoln should have remained in office to finish the job he started in 1860. One hundred forty years down the trail, we can comfortably look back and say, “they did the right thing when the country came to the crossroads”.

Once again, my fellow Americans, we find ourselves at the same kind of crossroads. 1864 was not the last time we came up to this kind of fork in the road. It happened in 1916 and in 1944. Maybe one day, I’ll settle you all down in front of my fireplace and tell you all about them and how, when the chips were down, most Americans proved to be honest, thoughtful people who understood the enormity of the decision they were facing at their crossroads. Now, we find ourselves at another crossroads. The only difference is it is our crossroads this time. We do not have the advantage of being able to look back on 2004 from a hundred forty years in the future. We can only make the best decision for ourselves and our children that we can with our God-given sense of right and wrong and more than a little common sense.

It’s your decision .. and mine. You already know who I plan to vote for. I have an obligation to my children, their children, your children .... and all our grandchildren. We absolutely must get this one right, my friends. There is too much at stake here .... not least of which is what some citizen writing in 2144 will have to say about the world we left him. He may be at the next crossroads and need some help deciding. Shouldn’t we try to give him an example of patriotic, honorable men and women who had the intelligence to just do the right thing at the right time for all the right reasons?

For the record, in the 1864 election Lincoln won in a landslide by a 212-21 margin in the Electoral College. McClellan carried only Kentucky, Delaware and New Jersey. Within six months after the election, the Civil War was over, the slaves had been freed .... and the healing began.

Carry these thoughts to bed with you tonight and as you go to the polls tomorrow. The decision is up to you. Which path is the correct path .... here at the crossroads?

A Contest!!!!  YAAAY!!!!

On the day before election day there are no lack of pundits and experts telling us how they think the American public will vote.

Hey, we’re just as smart as these asswipes so here’s the deal:

Give us your best guess on how the electoral college results will come out and for which candidate.  Also, tell us by indicating “yes” or “no” if the following states will go to Bush:  Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, New Jersey, Colorado, Nevada, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.

Your answer should look like this:  Bush 326-212; yes, no, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, no (example is fictitious)

So put your thinking caps on, do some reading, sacrifice a small animal and read its innards, read some tea leaves.  (whatever!) When you are done, you can get an interactive electoral college map here. Click on the map icon and follow the instructions.  By clicking on the states based on who you thinks wins which state it will give you the electoral count for this contest.

For more prognosticating with TONS of poll info and breakdowns, go here.

For additional reference material read this.

For latest poll information and state by state tracking and moving average numbers, go here.

Winner gets......mmmmmm......we’ve not decided yet.  (hey, we don’t have a budget for that kind of stuff but we’ll think of something)

However, you WILL get the satisfaction of knowing you won!

Entries must be in by midnight tonight!  One vote per person.

That’s right!  I will not stop exposing what people think of Senator Kerry (D-Viet.) until this is over.

Arrogant Foreigners

These sons of bitches are getting a bit too arrogant for me.

Tony Blair’s wife is here on a lecture tour of the US and is openly criticizing President Bush just days before the election.

Just who does this cow think she is?

Contact the Prime Minister’s Office at this address. Be polite but let him know his wife went over the line.  Ask him how he’d feel if Americans went over to England and criticized him just prior to one of his elections.

Here’s what I sent:

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

First off, I’d like to thank you for your unwavering support of our collective efforts in Iraq.  Your dedication and loyalty (and that of your military) is deeply appreciated.

However, I am a bit concerned about how your wife is in OUR country giving lectures and only days before OUR election is criticizing OUR President on issues she has no right to do so.

I am sure that English men and women would resent any effort by Americans to come over to England on tours and openly criticize your head of government.

What your wife is doing is, as you say there, “not cricket.”

I expect you or your office will not only have her cease and desist but also apologize to us for interfering on our election process.

Sincerely yours,

The Hypocritical Party Strikes Again

Literally!

Yep, the party that demands we tolerate one another, the party that asks why we can’t all get along, the party that is constantly saying, “make love, not war” obviously wants that to be true of everyone but themselves.

Here we have an instance of a TEACHER kicking a student in the leg. Why?  Because the student was wearing a GOP shirt.  She even said she should have kicked him higher and harder.

But the student did not get mad.  He’s getting even.  And this has the teacher scared to the point she said to him:

“I acted entirely inappropriately by kicking you, giving vent to a thoughtless knee-jerk political reaction that should never have happened. Before the incident, I did not know you and that you are a Fort Lewis student.”

What’s left unsaid is that she would have had NO remorse had he NOT been a student.

Well, the kid is not satisfied and is pressing charges.  BRAVO!!!  Even after the college itself formally apologized to him in writing.

He is undeterred.  More BRAVOS!!!!

The Hell With Responsible Journalism!

And who ever said I was a journalist anyway?

So here’s a tasty little treat to start your day today, the eve of the most important Presidential election in our lifetimes:  John Kerry has, as a godfather to his daughter, a guy named Peter Yarrow.

The name ring a bell?

How about a hint?  Remember “Peter, Paul, and Mary?” “Puff the Magic Dragon?”

Now do you know who I am talknig about?

Well, Peter was convicted of child molestation in 1970. His musical notoriety earned him a pardon in 1981 by Jimmy “Peanut” Carter.  Come on, who’s surprised?

Now, I do not know how old Fuckface’s daughter is so Yarrow could have been convicted AFTER she was born and it would not be fair to blame Kerry for any impropriety BUT Yarrow played at The Poodle’s wedding to Rich Bitch in 1995.  You’d think he’d have the sense to disassociate himself from a convicted child molestor.

Oooops!  Sorry!  I forgot.  He’s a democrat.  Those are his favorite type of people.

It’s Still A Dangerous World

The US Election is tomorrow. Friday’s report on the economy showed a surge of 3.6% growth in the third quarter of this year. Things are looking up. Then Osama bin Laden issued his latest threat. Meanwhile, US troops are preparing to clean out the pesthole in Fallujah. Unrest in China yesterday causes the Commies to declare martial law. These are all things to consider as you prepare to vote tomorrow. We are at war with Islamic fundamentalists who seek to destroy us and so far we’re winning. But if you think Kerry can do a better job, consider this: the Mad Mullahs in Iran (another member of President Bush’s declared “Axis Of Evil") recently stated thay would prefer Kerry to Bush. Take a look at this story to see what kind of friends Kerry has ....

TEHRAN, Iran - To shouts of “Death to America,” Iran’s parliament unanimously approved the outline of a bill Sunday that would require the government to resume uranium enrichment, legislation likely to deepen an international dispute over Iran’s nuclear activities.

Still, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Hossein Mousavian told The Associated Press there was a 50 percent chance of a nuclear compromise with European nations.

The European wussies are trying to play nice with the Mad Mullahs and what do they get for their efforts? A “50% chance of a compromise”? The Europeans are part of Kerry’s grand “global strategy” and the best they can get out of the Mad Mullahs is a 50-50 chance of cooperation and shouts of “Death To America”? I do not want to die and neither do you. We have to send a clear message to both Europe and Iran on Tuesday. If we don’t, the world will continue a long slide into a very dark night.

More on this later today in an editorial entitled “Crossroads”. Stay tuned.
